A heart breaking way to kick Italy out of World Cup qualifier. North Macedonia with one of the great upsets in football. They defended incredibly well. Had one real chance at the end and made the most of it. I am sure that Italy downgraded Macedonia and they were looking forward to Portugal match not knowing they have to clear the path to meet them. Italy quite obviously lacked creativity upfront, they played with just a regular pattern which the Macedonians came prepared for and with a counter plan. In the end, Italy who had a couple of chances lost out to a team that had just one half chance and took it. It is disappointing that they missed out on the world cup once again.

A great way to eliminate Italy from World Cup qualifying. A great victory on Italian soil for Northern Macedonia. The game is called Football for a reason, anything can happen. It is impossible to underestimate any team, whether it is small, average or high quality. Our hearts went out to North Macedonia. We congratulate the underdog. It is a disaster for Italy to miss back-to-back world cups! However, Portugal is patiently awaiting the next meeting.

FIFA should stay out of politics but until a certain point not when a country invades a country out of nowhere claiming bullshit like they are going to clean Ukraine from the nazis running the government over there and committing genocide against the Russian minority.It is a fair decision from FIFA following all the international community by condemning Russia out of their competitions and I think for Poland they need to find a new solution but if they can't,then it is normal for them to get 3-0 table result because it is not Poland fault that Russia started an invasion out of nowhere.

Russia is in the wrong here and what they did was a crime against humanity and I hate Putin as much as the next person. However if Fifa really wants to stay out of politics, then just like how they are removing Russia in flags and so forth, they should also remove Qatar from contention to be the world cup place as well considering they are ruining the world to begin with.

It is really not fair to see them being angry over what's going on in Ukraine and then ignore everything else that doesn't bother them personally. There are deaths and wars all around the world constantly and Fifa rarely ever does anything. Russia is wrong, it is good what they did to Russia and I support it, but do it to other bad nations as well.

I especially wonder what will happen once Putin withdraws his troops and the war ends. How will FIFA and UEFA solve that? The sanctions that have been imposed, would they all be removed again? There are a lot of sanctions. By the way, Russia has no significant role in the World Cup, maybe they could survive the group stage with luck, but then it really ends. No one will miss Russia at the World Cup, if they qualify at all. At the moment there is also no team that wants to play against Russia.

I think their decision is final and there is not going to be any way to change it, while some people believe that FIFA should stay away from politics, and I think this should be the case for any sport federation, the truth is that if their members desire to take a side in the political arena then they are going to be forced to do so as well.

And in the current climate the easiest decision for FIFA to take was to take the side which is against Russia, as in the eyes of many people the war seems unjustified, so FIFA did not really had too much of a choice to begin with but to implement those sanctions.

If the sanctions directly affected the rulers, it would be ideal, the bad thing is that it affects people who have nothing to do with political conflicts, Russian soccer players are just that, soccer players, besides, I had seen that Russian soccer has grown enormously in recent years, it is a pity that they have rushed to make decisions like this, I do not know what is better, because this brings as a consequence what I have said before, an enormous Xenophobia, what I wonder is: what will these footballers do ? How will they face everything they have to do in their commitments? the Russian national team is no longer in FIFA, so these players are also betated?



In another order of ideas, it hurts me that the Italian national team has lost, it is incredible how a country like North Macedonia has left Italy without a World Cup, with this it is the 3rd World Cup that Italy has lost and apart from the second consecutive World Cup for the which do not go, what will result in Italian football? On the other hand, Portugal should not be overconfident, I want to see CR7 in this World Cup.

I got too hung up on the big names and underestimated North Macedonia, I bet on Italy with the -1.5 option. Lol, even Italy only win in statistics but the result is zero, it can be said that Italy is very likely to win and qualify for the world cup. With an opponent that not many people even know about North Macedonia, but Italy still couldn't make good use of it to be able to win and qualify for the world cup when in reality this match was played in Italy. I don't know if I should be happy or sad here because I bet on it too, Italy is really unlucky this time but congratulations to North Macedonia.

This is incredible, Italy the European champion finished as a runner-up in their group in European 2022 World qualifying behind Switzerland and later bundled out by the North Macedonian minnow ranked 67th in FIFA ranking after a playoff right in their home in Palermo, thus missed  playing in the World the second time, what an upset! North Macedonia defended very well throughout the duration of the match and took their last minute chance courtesy of a well taken shot by Trajkovski that rendered Gianluigi Donnarumma the Italian goalkeeper helpless, in a match dominated by the Italians congratulations to the North Macedonians.

Italy vs Macedonia 1.19/7.0/15.5 - sure win for Italy
Wales vs Austria 2.75/2.95/2.8 - Completely open game. Looking at the recent results it seems Wales could be stronger and might have a very good chance to win this game.
Sweden vs Czech Rep 2.0/3.2/4.0 - I don't consider the Czech Rep a weak team and would have though the odds are more balanced here. This could be a draw with extra time
Portugal vs Turkey 1.37/5.0/8.0 - CR7 show! He'll give everything to qualify for his last big tournament. I expect Portugal to safely win here.

Boy, these were some intense games! Italy of course was a huge surprise. But things like this can happen in sports. Congratulations to all that had the balls to bet on North Macedonia 
My other bets were rather successful though, so all in all it was a good day 

Portugal is pretty safe to qualify now with a win against North Macedonia on Tuesday. Poland vs Sweden is more of an open game. Both teams have good chances to make it to the World Cup, I don't dare to bet on either team here. I don't expect many goals here though.

Sometimes being better than your opponent simply isn't enough.Sometimes football is all about luck.
The Italians had lots of luck during the penalties in Euro 2020,now their luck has disappeared.
Usually the teams,that are wining Mondial or Euro trophies disappoint in the next qualification season,right after the Mondial or Euro tournament.
I don't think that Portugal would make the same mistake as Italy in the upcoming match against Northern Macedonia.Christiano Ronaldo will definitely play in another World Cup tournament(probably the last World Cup in his career).

I've seen Portugal complicate a lot of games that should be easy. But if you play like you played against Torquia, you'll probably win. Even because Portuguese players know this type of game, very defensive in Macedonia. In the championship in Portugal, the small teams tend to have a similar style of play, which sometimes surprises, as it happens.

Well, I was right that Italy vs N Mac would be a low-scoring game, and that N Mac would put 11 men behind the ball, and right that anything can happen in a single winner-takes-all knockout match... but still, despite all that, I'm hugely surprised that they won.

I hope the same that Portugal qualifies but I remember in Euro 2016 qualifiers in the first opening game at home Portugal lost 0-1 against Albania,a team in almost same quality as North Macedonia.Yes Portugal tends to make these kind of games difficult enough but sometimes they score early and win big,I hope this is the case against North Macedonia as it would be a shame if the upcoming World Cup misses two big European teams like Portugal and Italy.

It was a really unfortunate day for Turkey yesterday. The defining moment of the match was the penalty Burak Yilmaz took. It will be interesting to watch Egypt vs Senegal tonight... They recently met in the African Cup of Nations final, with Senegal winning on penalties! Will Egypt be able to take revenge and beat their opponents on home field? Bookmakers have about the same odds of winning - 2.7/3.0... After trailing by 2 goals in the first half Turkey came back in the second half but it is a shame that Burak Yilmaz failed to score from the penalty spot in the 85th minute, and because the Turkish players continued to attack in the last minute Matheus Luiz managed to score again for Portugal to make the score 3 -1
from all the matches Turkey only played well in the second half, maybe if they started the game with the same game as they showed in the second half maybe the result of this match would be different.

next match Portugal really benefited because of the elimination of Italy so they will face Macedonia, I think no luck for Macedonia for the second time. Portugal will be very easy to beat them because the players Portugal have have a much higher quality.

The biggest surprise of last night was realized by North Macedonia. Italy dominated the game for almost 90 minutes. They got a lot of chances but couldn't score.  North Macedonia, on the other hand, eliminated Italy with a great goal at the end of the match. They were probably working on taking the game to penalties and eliminating that goal, which was great for them. The last European champion, Italy, could not make it to the world cup.  In the final, they will fight Portugal

Sometimes people get carried away and think there is a 100% safe bet! And then they invest more money to make that safe income, but sometimes it doesn't go that way, which can be seen in this case!

Italy played so bad, they would have been beaten hands down by Portugal should they have beat Macedonia. Macedonia will put up a better show against Portugal and not make it so easy like Italy would have. Although because i want the world cup to be thrilling, I still want Portugal to beat Macedonia to it, so we can see ronaldo try again to win the world cup for Portugal.

Luis Suarez and Cavani as well will have a go at the world cup for the fourth time together again as the team have qualified and joined the likes of Brazil, spain, france, England, Argentina, Germany etc.

Senegal to face egypt again for world cup qualification, Egypt cannot repeat the same  pattern they played in the AFCON finals where they play to get a draw and hope to win on penalties, they need to play to win from the kick off whistle.

Before yesterday, Italy played 59 WC qualifying games at home. They won 48 and drew 11. Yesterday's loss is their first one ever in a WC qualifying match.

Portugal is probably the luckiest team in the world. First they get lucky with that Yilmaz penalty - and then they get North Macedonia instead of Italy.
They will breeze through that game - I really don't think that Macedonia can make 2 big surprises in a row.
