Classic FPL ending to GW with both Palmer and Sterling getting yellow cards to pile up the pressure for the upcoming GW. Should be some problems especially for those that have Tsimikas as well.

I'm also having that minimum available players in quintuples, Ben Mee suspended until Jan 21st, Matty Cash and Cole Palmer to miss the next game week, Mitoma and Tsimikas both out injured, and I have only two free transfers, also planning for players leaving the EPL for international duties probably after the next game week.

Having a wild card right now would have come in very handy and valuable for me, but I've wasted it way long ago already.

Well, you're in luck. According to the the FPL help page:

The Wildcard chip can be used twice a season. The first wildcard will be available from the start of the season until Sat 30 Dec 12:00. The second wildcard will be available after Sat 30 Dec 12:00 in readiness for the January transfer window opening and remain available until the end of the season.

In just 4 days from today, you'd get the second and final wildcard chip of the season. I used up my wildcard unnecessarily but I won't make the same mistake with my next wildcard chip only to be used if no other option can salvage my team.

It depends. My take on the matter is thar if his injury is more severe, he would likely be left out of the Japan squad. Why are you bothered about Mitoma anyway? His returns in last 7-8 gameweeks are mid at best.


Kudos to Palmer and Jackson for the 1 point apiece and to Jackson again for missing more than 4 big chances in the game. This would've been the week I win the free bet but I'll keep pushing.

I have exactly 3 players suspended and injured for next week (Tsimikas, Palmer and Sterling). On top of that I have only 1 free transfer right. As I think that Chelsea will start rising by the effect of their easy fixture as well I decided to have 3 Chelsea players in my team. However this made me drop down in the leaderboard. Nkunku scored a goal today. Maybe from now on Jackson's place is also not guaranteed that much.

Doucoure is out for some time, but I will probably not sell him, can't see much price pressure on him, and we have City this week, not sure that clean sheet is an option here

@Igebotz shitty odds from a book I'll never use but happy to put down a 1mbtc sidebet on ETH sack before 1 Jan. It means nothing but one United manager oversaw their last games as defeats to Klopp's Liverpool.Hate the stat but Klopp has done this to at least 5 managers already in 7 EPL seasons. Tough!

The Glazers still own 75% of the club and have veto power, so I don't think Rat owning 25% changes anything about ETH staying or not. It is generally known that sacking ETH would not solve anything; instead, spend Smart

Yep, frustrating end to yesterday's game considering that I've got both of them in my team.
I'm left with 12 available players, and with Haaland and Romero doubtful, and most of my players having away games. Looks like a shitty week, I'm even considering to use a Free hit.

Those should be used in empty gameweeks though, right?

1. I don't plan on using my second WC anytime sooner than game week 28-32, so I've got to be very smart with my transfer, and I wouldn't be taking any points hit so far I have the necesarry amount of starters fit for a game week, even if my entire bench is out injured or suspended.

2. I'm already mapping out how to transition Son, and Salah out of my team, and you know that will sure bring about a potential defensive or attacking upgrade, and you literally need to transfer to make a midfield to a defensive, or forward uprgade, so for Son, Salah and Mitoma, to get a Midfield, Defensive and Forward upgrade the least you'd need is 4 transfers. so, If needs be and Mitoma isn't heading anywhere I could possible have him on the bench for a week or two until I have a free transfer to be rid of him.

I assume that I could use my second wildcard early after the African Nations Cup starts to remove Salah from my squad. I'm not contented with some of the players in my squad now. However I'm not ready to spend any points to change them. For example Hwang Hee-chan's performance isn't good at all in the recent times. I want to get Gordon instead of him.

There is all kinds of strategies associated with free hits but easiest one to pull off is blank GW. There will be one for sure when FA cup semi finals get scheduled. Those 4 teams will miss out for sure and that means maybe even 4 fixtures postponed.

There are also some people that like to use it in double GW since ceiling is much higher then. For instance if City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea get in semi final, you have to target other teams in the blank GW. Who are you gonna target in teams like Burnley or Sheffield? You are quite limited. But then all those 4 teams have double GW and you have plenty of great options.

Basically it is all very team and season dependent. I have almost always used it in blank GW since you can't use bench boost in combination with it and I try to use bench boost in big double game weeks.

Captain pick? It must be Salah, I mean Solanke is good but he is nowhere near Salah level and he is attacker. Midfielders get more points for goal, more bonus points and point for clean sheet, it isn't even a contest in my opinion. Yeah we could have a freak GW and Solanke outscores Salah but I would say 8/10 times this goes to Salah side comfortably.

Nothing much except for the disappointing display from Sterling, Palmer and Jackson. But it's all in the past now although I'm still pissed because I had high hopes for the trio in gw18.

When the Afcon and Asian cup starts, it'd definitely going to be chaotic but as someone that has taken one too many negative points hits due to too much transfers and used my WC too early, I'll skip using my WC too early even in those circumstances. My priority f9r the second half of the season is to cover more ground and move towards am upONLY mode moving forward.

I did Haaland captain, Watkins vice-captain.

Burnley have some kind of purple patch these last few weeks, but I fully expect the robot to outscore everybody else if he is fit. If not, well we all know Watkins' goal record away from home, against ManU of all teams, so that's a plus.

Salah is in a terrific form right and it's likely going continue until he leaves for AFCON soon, but this game week, he's the major standout for captaincy choice, with Palmer and Sterting both suspended for a game, it gives multiple opportunity to bring in Nkunku without taking significant point hit. I'd rather go for Callum Wilson again than Solanke who plays against Fulham, while Wilson is up against Forest, so Salah for this week is an easy choice imo.

this seems very reasonable
in empty GW, with few fixtures it is hard to expect to see a lot of people getting much points
but when top teams have two fixtures, and more than one of them, it is a good call

although, two chips can't be used together, so triple captain can't be used with FH, isn't that right? and that could be a drawdown in than theory

looking at fixtures, Salah seems as best choice for captain

Palmer is a must-keep, but Sterling's terrible mistakes have already cost us more league games; if Poch is anything like what I think of him, he will let Sterling rot on the bench for the rest of the season and sell him in January. He's not an average player, but his decision-making is atrocious; when Pep sold him, people called him a mad man; now they know why.

Palmer is going to stack up more assists from Nkunku finishing ability.

Yesterday i tried to wildcard for the first time, and man... that was quite hard to do, i ended up not doing the movements, the problem was i want to make space for Haaland, but it was impossible to do without losing so much key players.

About Palmer, i think is one of the best players in the ratio money spend/points, and also i think he have a good future for the rest of the season. Sterling is good i have him, but is expensive, and more thinking about when Chelsea is not doing so good.
