It's tough to find a midfielder with consistent performance but with so-so price.

You are looking for James Ward-Prowse Smiley

Thank you NotATether, and the fun fact is, I just brought him! Both of Maddison and Ward-Prowse have stable performance and then, they are in my squad now Cheesy Costed me some points but I hope it gives some impact.
JWP is precisely type of player I hate in Fantasy. His hauls will often come against though opponents since he is much more dangerous from set pieces than open play. That fact combined with his price means he always ends up on the bench when he hauls and plays when he blanks. At least for me, hope you will have better luck with him  Grin

I picked up sterling as my free transfer for the current GW but I'm beginning to have second thoughts due to your conversation with CLS63. Chelsea's next 5 fixtures should be easy enough for them and Sterling would feature in all of them if he doesn't pickup any injuries. For someone like Sterling that has been heavily criticized, I feel he would want to keep up that form for much longer.
I am not yet convinced to have Sterling in my team, I simply do not trust his play, and his performance against Luton is simply not enough for me to see him as improved. I know that he is more determined this season to show his worth and ensure that he does not loose his place both in the Chelsea team and in the England squad. I will be observing him for a few more games.

Also Arsenal will face Man United this weekend, so I couldn't expect much on Saka lol.
Manchester United have some defensive crisis, and they do not have their first choice in Left back, so Saka may still have a good game. For me, Saka is one midfielder that has always been consistent for Arsenal, and I will not expect less from him even if our next opponent is Manchester United.

Thanks man, I just hope there would be many set pieces given to him lol, especially a free kick. Good luck to you Trofo!

That's a good point Rruchi man, to be honest I forgot about the left back problem on Man United. Though recently I heard that they are trying their best to bring a new player to fill that position before the deadline, so yeah, hope I didn't make a mistake lol. Good luck to you man!

With Champions League start and also the other european competitions like Europa League and Conference we are gonna start to see a more big rotation into the teams, and i have to be much more alert to not put player who are not ending playing.

Or also players who play less minutes than regular.

Damn, all those articles I wrote coming to bite me in the ass  Grin I guess you should keep quiet or write only nonsense.

Let me try, buy Rodri immediately he scored same amount of goals as Haaland so far and that means he will continue to do so. Also buy Gusto now, he is guaranteed to make two assists per game and keep clean sheet and of course don't pay attention to the fact that James is coming back and Gusto will probably not play after international break. How am I doing, wanna bet now?

Let's talk about this on the last gw once again. Maybe then I can change my mind.  Cheesy Cheesy

Sterling is creating many more goal opportunities for himself this season. However he isn't a very good player about finishing. Therefore I accept that it is risky to keep him in the squad. However when we think that he is a player worth 7.0 million it was absolutely a risk that could be taken. I already got its return against Luton.

Is there anyone who has transferred Sterling to their squad? He is a player who has always problems on finishing. He showed a good performance against Luton and carried me to top last week. He has a potential to collect points for a few more weeks because of Chelsea's fixture advantage. However the idea of making a safer choice like Maddison in his place isn't bad at all.

I'm torn between Sterling and Maddison right now, but Chelsea's next five games put Sterling ahead of Maddison, not forgetting that the Spurs attack goes through Maddison, making him twice as dangerous as Sterling attackingly, but if you're looking at a long term plan, Maddison with his glass leg and injury history is not someone who will stick fit for a run of games. My current draught is Martinelli to Sterling and a -4 hit for Watkins to Jackson.

Sterling is already in your possession. If you need Maddison, Mbeumo to Maddison is a viable option, but this is dependent on your available funds. Do not trade Sterling for Maddison. Having both is preferable. You may want to take of the depreciating assets on your bench ( Stones and Gabrile) before you go bankrupt.

Palmer to Chelsea is completed and he cost only 5.0 - Someone to put on a watch-list. Trofo will not be happy with this transfer i bet  Grin

Down the stretch, it will be Maddison over Sterling due to obvious reason that Maddison would always create a lot of chances than Sterling If you consider set pieces and the likes, most of Tottenham plays goes through Maddison, but Sterling current form is something what riding on for sure, and Mbeumo days in most squad is numbered once Ivan Toney gets fully back and the points is become more of a split with Toney getting the edge, Mbeumo over the Sterling or Maddison would not even be worth considering.

As for Cole Palmer, isn't he supposed to be the immediate threat to Sterling's position or that of what Enzo's new role is gradually becoming ? Chelsea have multiple players in attacking midfield position already, but maybe not so much on the right that is fit. So, I guess if he's going to be a starter it's either Sterling gets deployed back to left wing where he's also very comfortable playing, and have Palmer on the right. And for a little more squad depth if that's the intention isn't too bad of an idea, just the fee being rather weird and overpriced imo.

Happy about it? Actually, I am happy about it, it is now clear to me that Boehly will not stop from buying everything that is willing to come to Chelsea and sooner he gets you guys bankrupt, sooner you can start to rebuild. Just remember all those players have 7-9 year contracts to avoid FFP and that will hit hard in years to come.

Fun fact I have seen this morning ,Spurs with Poch in 5 years spent less than Chelsea in this transfer window. Did not check it but sounds plausible   Grin

Transer by itself is really strange. Palmer leaves City because he wants first team football and comes to Chelsea where there is even more competion on that spot.

Fati to Brighton on loan is a good transfer, and someting Chelsea should have done to navigate Nkunku injury. Not buying another player that is good but not good enough to actually carry the team.

I know that, but I'm mainly concerned about Maddison's injury record, which we both know isn't great, and the fact that the Spurs attack is built around him, which means he'll be taking a lot more tackles on his glass legs this season.

Let the manager worry about that; I'm sure he had a purpose for why he chose him out of nowhere. On the RW, we wanted a speedy and good leftfooted winger with good pass vision; Madueke is good, but his shooting and passing ability are lacking. Palmer is someone I never expected Man City would contemplate selling; he is one of their top players and would have been an ideal Mahrez replacement; he was already breaking into Man City IX and has made a significant impact this season. And as for the price, well, he's British, so what do you expect?

Yeah, every rival fan envies the way Chelsea and Todd Boehly do business, which is why Liverpool and Manchester United fans are protesting for a new owner. He's a businessman who discovered a loophole in FFP rules and decided to use it to his advantage to get the team set for the next 5- 8 years, bringing in the best under-21 talents from all over Europe and placing them on life contracts (7- 8 years), it's a huge gamble, but these players' salaries depend on team performance

Fun fact> Spur spending less than Aston villa is the reason they are trophyless in the last two decades. Money gives you trophies and history ask Mancity and PSG. Grin

Bringing in a prone to injury Fati to replace an injured Nkunku? What is the point of that? He is a highly gifted player, but his injury record is even worse, and that is the only reason Barcelona is allowing him to leave since he is nothing more than a liability to the club, and no serious club wants him either. We already have enough challenges to deal with.

I disagree. PSG may spend more than the rest of the Ligue 1 and win every French title, but that's only because the rest of the French clubs can hardly spend anything. Meanwhile PSG continue to be the clowns of UEFA Champions League and have not even won it once. Even Man City lost CL so many times and only won it last year.

Spurs had Harry Kane for a solid decade yet did not win any trophies because the manager at the time botches critical fixtures.

Meanwhile, the most notable thing Aston Villa have won recently is... the EFL Championship playoffs  Tongue

Money doesn't buy you success, only when you marry money with a good coach and tactics like Pep. Otherwise you get things like Leeds and Everton (and even United) throw ridiculous amounts of money into a black hole and getting crushed by FFP.

Fati to Brighton on loan is a good transfer, and someting Chelsea should have done to navigate Nkunku injury. Not buying another player that is good but not good enough to actually carry the team.

Fati will be a great player as long as he adapts to PL football, during periods which he is not injured.

Damn, as soon as I used my free transfer I saw the news about Ansu Fati to Brighton!

Don't get me wrong I don't think he'll explode but he seems a fair-value addition (I still need to clear Callum Wilson from my squad) and should fit my budget.

Fun fact> Spur spending less than Aston villa is the reason they are trophyless in the last two decades. Money gives you trophies and history ask Mancity and PSG. Grin

Ask Chelsea, just don't ask them after 2021 Wink

Definitely don't ask Everton!

Fun fact> Spur spending less than Aston villa is the reason they are trophyless in the last two decades. Money gives you trophies and history ask Mancity and PSG. Grin

My statements have already been validated by the bolded sentence Grin PSG has a long history, and I never said they were a mid-table team, but they only became significant in Europe after the QSI took over in 2011. It's been over a decade now, and they've won 8 league titles, 12 domestic cups, and one UEFA CL finalist for a club that only came into the spotlight less than 13 years ago.  They are not clowns in the CL; they have made efforts, but sometimes team work is not enough; you need luck. Manchester City had a harrowing CL trip, losing one final before eventually getting it right last season; it will take time, but PSG will get it right soon.

Quote
Spurs had Harry Kane for a solid decade yet did not win any trophies because the manager at the time botches critical fixtures.
They had Poch, Mourinho, and Conte and still couldn't win anything! Conte and Mourinho's only trophy-less club during their professional careers. The team is a joke.

Quote
Money doesn't buy you success, only when you marry money with a good coach and tactics like Pep. Otherwise you get things like Leeds and Everton (and even United) throw ridiculous amounts of money into a black hole and getting crushed by FFP.

Manchester City already won all major trophies except CL pre-PEP. Don't add money management and mancity in the same sentence; the team is a fraud with 115 allegations hanging over their heads, which they keep placing to rest with bribes since the English FA is corrupt.

Fun fact> Spur spending less than Aston villa is the reason they are trophyless in the last two decades. Money gives you trophies and history ask Mancity and PSG. Grin

Ask Chelsea, just don't ask them after 2021 Wink

If it makes Liverpool fans sleeps well at night why not  Grin

This is what the management of my club have come to realize. Arsenal that I used to know will never spend so much on any player, they were okay with bringing in low cost players who they sold later on for more than what they got them and made profit from them, but it is obvious that they are tired of that and now want to be able to compete to win trophies. Arsenal spent more in this transfer window than they have ever spent on transfers, because the new coach Arteta understands the need to have a squad with many quality players who can perform when needed.

Chelsea have spent so much since last season on bringing in players, they brought in many young players which is also good. If not in this season, Chelsea will develop into a very strong team that will dominate the premier league in a couple of seasons when these young players begin to understand themselves and have chemistry.

Asides bringing in players, with money, training facilities will be improved, and there will be good incentives for these players as well as care, so overall performance improves when there is money.

I am not so happy that Areola's clean sheet was scuppered during stoppage time, but hey at least I bought Bowen and JWP, jumping to 10th already. And that's before you count the Triple Captain on Haaland.

Good call for West Ham players this round but I am not sure I would want to have them in my team. I mean it is City and Liverpool next for them. Clean sheets are not gonna come but Bowen and JWP could get you some points there as well. Especially against Liverpool.

You used TC this round, one guy used BB, another guy used FH.... Isn't it a bit too early to spend your chips guys? I always played the game in a way to forget about chips until GW20 when all the blanks/double game weeks start to happen. There is always opportunities to target there. Of course this does not include WC1, I used that one sometimes as early as GW2 Smiley Really happy this is not one of those seasons.

As for me, I'm trying to close the gap between the top 5 before it becomes too much. Though double gameweek sounds tasty it will probably be too late to rank up if you're at the bottom half of the table.

My bench is crap right now so I don't think I will be using BB anytime soon, and also as I have already used my wildcard I have no reason to free hit either.

But who knows, maybe Haaland gets a hat-trick at Fulham home and it will pay off. Kinda glad I chose not to captain Bowen TBH, even though he scored one.

FPL is all about maximizing points, it does not matter when those points will come. I was terrible first half of season last year due to my decision to start with double Liverpool defense and Kane over Haaland. Don't remember exactly but my rank was bottom of the tables first few game weeks, then WC and slow grind. Managed to get it to about 1.5M before World Cup and then final sprint to below 300K which is solid. My goal is always top 100K when final whistle blows. That should also get you some mini leagues and probably guaranteed top 3 in our pool.

I am not saying it will happen and there is no guarantee with City and their rotations. But wouldn't you rather give him TC chip in GW when he plays something like Brighton and Bournemouth and has 180 minutes to score than in single GW against anybody?

That being said I still remember my TC on Aguero couple of seasons ago. Two very easy games for City, he is in top form and limps of injured in first 10 minutes of first game. One pointer for my TC.

Triple Captain in GW 3 already ? That's some gutsy play imo, especially knowing Haaland hasn't been firing well on cylinders, so it's very very gusty to say the least, but Haaland with a hattrick today would surely be better than planning for a potential double game week of which we have zero no clue about yet. I agree. That's if he gets to be that efficient today though.

Areola of all days choose to not keep it tight this week that I have him over Pickford who actually plays just against Sheffield United a team that have only scored just 2 goals so far as well.

I decided to take a huge point hits (-12) this week, Gabriel on the Arsenal's bench was the major factor for me but don't be surprised if he starts against Man United, although that's still not a fixture, I'd rather have in my starting line up for, and points hit also is because I have no plans of using my wildcard again anytime soon, at least not before between game week 11-13 If all things goes as planned for me.

Fati looks good at 6.5 IMO. Brighton has a tough schedule so I'll give it some time, but I'm surely taking him at some point.
Considering how offensively they play, it's a no-brainer for me - especially considering he'll almost certainly play LW with Estupinan behind him.

I'm paying my fantasy inexperience so far, did some stupid early transfers so I did not replace Stones and Rashford on time. Both dropped in value and I was planning on switching them out.
Fantasy is quite complex - I have a feeling this will be my learning season.

With Champions League start and also the other european competitions like Europa League and Conference we are gonna start to see a more big rotation into the teams, and i have to be much more alert to not put player who are not ending playing.

Or also players who play less minutes than regular.
Totally agree , but if not teams like Manchester city who are constantly rotating because they can afford to do it ,  I don't think we have other teams that have the luxury to rest the big names as both competitions mean a lot to them...though the risk now is not playing 60 minutes plus and if not secured any big points in the minutes played , then maximum one will get is 1 gameweek point  Roll Eyes

Fati looks good at 6.5 IMO. Brighton has a tough schedule so I'll give it some time, but I'm surely taking him at some point.
That was quick, his already been valued and for 6.5 that's a steal for what his going to bring to the table...but for now let's see how he settles in & hope he doesn't choke when it comes to EPL performance Cool
