Exactly, that why it's often almost like going from bad to worse 1-2 weeks after using wildcard despite it being the most valuable chip in FPL, and the earlier and longer you plan towards a game week that 4-5 weeks away, the worse your team becomes over that stretch, at least it has happen to me year in year out, but maybe some people are often luckier in cases like this.

You can offset that by following few simple rules:
Never WC before international window
Never WC before fixture swings

Still you can have bad luck but if you wc before stuff like that tiu are just asking for trouble.


Made 3 transfers this week, minus 8 points to start GW. Now I need some points 

Kidding aside, taking hits for double GW players isn't as punishing as usual so some hits are well worth it in my opinion.

Few days after I brought Haaland (finally) in my squad, his grandma dies and now he is a major doubt for the upcoming DGW.

I had to rip apart my squad just to kick him out.

Literally peak FPL.... I guess deffo hold your TC's, and do not use them. Unless you fancy TCing an angry Salah of course.

Me so lucky/unlucky. Put Raya instead of Pickford, but Walker instead of Ake. Still ended up with 84, better than average, boom!

Needless to say, I'm sliding into my post mid-season carelessness with FPL. It's not that I don't care, I forget, and then when I do remember, am clueless.

If he doesn't have a special occasion you are absolutely right. However this situation can vary from person to person. For example as my grandmother and grandfather raised me their loss would affect me more than my parents'.

TAA's absence is absolutely a nightmare for me. I have been keeping him in my squad for a long time and he won't be able to play on the most important week. I don't think of making a new transfer in exchange for -4 points.

If TAA is sidelined, getting another Liverpool asset is wrong move and will cause problems for the following blank week.  I'm going to get Gabriel and do a double Arsenal defence for the upcoming games. I'm always unlucky with TAA; last season, the moment I got him, he was injured and sidelined for an extended period of time.

Lol. I just looked at the rankings, and it is possible to leapfrog you with some real luck and serious plans, but it will not work with Buwaytress, as we all know FPL is his weakest point.  How about you guys start a second chance league with the next GW? And place a more realistic side bet.

As I have used my first chance very well so far I don't need a second chance league yet. To be honest I don't want to make more side bets as I made a lot of them at the beginning of the season. My aim was only to joke around with buwaytress

FPL is my weakest point is an understatement. I actually think even if I spent enough time on it, I wouldn't do well. I'm not that plugged into players and teams these days (I have always understood football as a whole, rather than an amalgation of players and that's not how football works I guess) and even if I invested more time, I probably don't grasp the finer aspects of the numbers game.

Good thing you were joking about 100 BTC; if I lose, even my kidney/eye/liver etc wouldn't fetch more than 1 BTC at best market rates

Haven’t been a big fan of TAA in the current season and he haven’t done much to impress me just yet. Don’t have a single Liverpool player on my team at the time but, with M. Salah being back, it’s tempting to grant him a transfer slot but, there isn’t much any guarantees that he would be starting or having just enough playing time in the fixtures for the DGW. Darwin still looks like a pleasing option but even him too is an off and on player with regards to form. He could miss a lot of goal opportunities from a good position and even catch the bar more times than normal but, he delivers at times. Hope these be one of those GW.

It’s not out of the ordinary what grannies could mean to a lot of persons. Those whose life were built around them and are used to taking their calls. It’s better he be out than have another emotionally imbalanced player on the pitch. You wouldn’t find the quality you seek from a mourning player.

It could also be dependent on close they and whether it's paternal or maternal, because at least from this part of the world most people tend to be closer to their maternal side of the family and we only get to hear it when some for dies from the paternal side, sometimes even very late.

Given how significant Haaland is to both the EPL and FPL, I'm very sure there would have been some major updates about him likely to be away from the team for personal reason and whatnot.

But regardless, I was already thinking whether or not to use my Triple Captain chip yet, perhaps this is a significant sign.

I don't even know why this became news. His grandmother passed away 2 days before CL match and je played that. Burial is organised 2 days after last game in double.

A bit disturbing all that is shared freely in press but now that it is I don't see why he wouldn't play.

Lol. The lucky bastard might be telling the truth;  All of the Bitcoin I purchased at $300 I sold for $800-$900, making a significant profit to solve my problems at the time. People who held it for an extended period of time either misplaced their seed phrase or wallet.dat at some time, and were fortunate to get them back after a long period of time.

I haven't used any of my chips this season, but it's now time. Stuck at the same position for 3GWs now. Lol.

I don't make it a secret that I don't invest or trade. Bitcoin is just how I've been getting paid since 2016. Full-time freelancer, so yes, my wallet has seen 3 figure Bitcoin volume, but I sell almost all of it every time I get paid for bills etc. Even liquidated virtually everything I'd set aside as savings in Dec 2020, no regrets even though ATH came a year later, it was a personal emergency and it solved a huge problem.

As fate would have it I had another personal emergency last summer, so once more wiped out my BTC. My hardware wallet costs more than the balance now, even have more in Sportsbet account haha, even my kids actually have more BTC in their wallets but that's what I saved for them, not for me to ever touch.

I have very modest sums for gambling, but it's budgeted every season, and whatever I do win generally goes back to the house haha.

So, like Igeh's situation, Bitcoin's definitely helped solve problems for me (saving in fiat alone I'd be in bigger, deeper trouble). I do shed tears every ATH, but the point of savings is rainy days, and the hope is always that rainy days come very, very far ahead in future.
