Sri Lanka's current score is 183 for 6 with 40 overs to play. Looking at the current state of their game, it seems that the Afghanistan bowlers are putting a lot of pressure on the Sri Lankan batsmen. Sri Lanka's game looks like they are playing a strong team. If the run rate is like this then maximum Sri Lanka can score 240 runs. If Afghanistan can stop Sri Lanka within 240 runs then this match will be very easy for Afghanistan.

After Kusal got out SL batters fell rather quickly, regarding whether Afghans win today or not will depend on their openers, if SL can get their wickets early they are pretty much sure to lose, since they heavily depend on them for a good start.

I would say we got better performance than expected from Afghanistan. After the good performance of the bowlers, I was pretty sure that the Afghanistan team would win this match. After beating Afghanistan in the first match I thought this World Cup will be memorable for  Bangladesh. They might be able to perform very well in this World Cup. Because Bangladesh's p erformance against afghanistan was very organized. But we have seen bad performance of Bangladesh in every match except this one match.  Especially the performance of the  batsmen of Bangladesh is very bad. And the  bad performance of the batsmen is the reason why England and Bangladesh are so bad.

Well.. the fact that this edition of the world cup is being hosted by India has helped them quite a bit. Afghan spinners have performed well, and this has enabled them to rise to no.5 in the points table. But I would be rather cautious when I talk about the long-term perspective. They need to win more consistently in SENA nations, to be counted as one of the top full members. And now the issue is that they don't get opportunities to play in SENA nations often. Afghanistan is a tier-2 test nation, so the other teams are not required to setup bilaterals against them.

Afghanistan has only a remote chance of qualifying for the semi-finals. But if they do, one of the much fancied teams will be left out (one among South Africa, Australia and New Zealand). But the chances are too low. Their next match is going to be somewhat easy (vs Netherlands), but they have two matches against tough opposition - Australia and South Africa. So I don't see them getting to 12 points, which would guarantee them of a spot in the semi-finals. Australia on the other hand just need to win 2 out of the 3 matches.

We can never accept that Afghanistan was able to beat teams like England, Pakistan and Sri Lanka in several matches, but they lost by a huge margin against Bangladesh. However, Afghanistan will not be able to accept this defeat easily as they have beaten a much better team than Bangladesh while they have lost with Bangladesh. That Bangladesh could not win a single match except Afghanistan. Bangladesh team will not be able to win any other match.

I seriously can't understand how come Bongs are banking on Tanzid Hasan, who has less than 15 average and is also inexperienced in the ODI format.

LOL.. He scored 51 against India (in a match where he and Litton Das put up an opening partnership of 93 runs). But apart from that, his form has been horrible so far. Litton Das on the other hand has performed somewhat consistently and seems to be their best batsman. Even today he made 45 and rescued Bangladesh from complete annihilation.
