Damn, I already forgot that such service exists, I haven't hear anything about them for so long time. Last post in this topic was made in 2018 or 6 years ago - I kinda doubt that we have many active Xapo users here. In past it was custodial wallet popular among faucet users, but in general as I remember there was no any important reasons why someone would have to use Xapo instead of other Bitcoin wallet.
Now I see that Xapo turned into Bitcoin bank and users of it have to pay $14,99 monthly fee. Not cheap at all, wondering what users are gettimg for such money.

Going totally against the main principle of Bitcoin. I was curious, so I checked out the site, I haven't laughed this hard in a while  Grin
Why would someone hand their Bitcoins overt to them and then pay $15 a month?

The last I remember, people's Bitcoins got locked up in the custodial wallets, and they had no way of withdrawing it. The support wasn't helping either. If anyone decided to use that service again after all those complaints, that is on them.

Well, Xapo service exists for so many years, so probably their business model works, despite how strange it may look for us.
Now I went through old comments on this topic, including mine and it's difficult to find good words about Xapo. Seems that in these 6-7 years they not only didn't become better, but turned only worse.

Probably for the false sense of security  Grin

My guess is, one of the reasons would be the term "bank" which is a more familiar concept to people. But because tons of people don't read the fine print, they probably don't know none of their crypto deposits are "insured" the same way fiat deposits are in fiat banks so all that's left is an unnecessary subjection to KYC/AML policies.
