Lots of code changed over last week and last few days. Tonight is the new Dev-Update, will post link here. TEST 6 is still running, but we might see updates to the Launcher and Demo App. Don't know if that's tonight or later. We'll see. |

So when will be the safe network released? After Test 29? I am a bagholder for half a year but im about to drop it when we won´t get near to the safe network finally... This Project runs since years and still is not finished.
Just my 2 cents

Here are the latest updates from today with links to GitHub as well. I don't know more than that. Devs are working really hard, testing a lot of stuff. And what they brought over the last months since TEST 1 is great as well IMO. But I can't decide for you. I would just join the test if I were you. To see what's going one. But that's your call. |

This is much better approach then for example Sia which released 1.0 version without even testing it seriously. It blew back into their faces. |

TEST 7 brought up several issues and is offline. That's why it's called a test  We're waiting for TEST 7b. I'll update if we have more info. Link to forum post by David Irvine |

 These binaries connect you to a droplet net from Maidsafe so they run the vaults for now. This way the client code is tested and they can focus on that part (front end). Next step is releasing updated vaults (back end) again for people to run from home. Some great testing going on, it shows them exactly where the trouble is. Updated Launcher and Demo AppPeople's help is very much appreciated  |

This is much better approach then for example Sia which released 1.0 version without even testing it seriously. It blew back into their faces. Very good and important point ! The problem with almost all crypto releases is that 99,99% do NOT live up to expectations, because they had not been tested properly. It is very, very refreshing and promising to see a dedicated and very professional team not going for the quick gains or P&D action, but actually taking the time and effort to test everything thoroughly and properly. We should all be very happy about this, because what this means imo is this: - Once the SAFE network goes live, it will actually live up to all the expectations and promises, which will mean the price will explode. - Because of the testing, there is no P&D action or quick money to be made, which means MAIDSAFE is currently enormously cheap compared to the potential it has. So for all the crypto "investors" that are actually here to make solid investments: This is one of the true gems in the crypto world where your "investment" will actually be an investment The time is now people. Patience will certainly be rewarded imo. |

I have also read further coin dilution will happen as the project progresses which might hurt the value of maidsafe coins, is this true? the project has massive potential because the people behind it are working tirelsly lol these new tests catering for devs widens scope. The more development happening around a coin the higher the value rises GENERALLY dilution happens to most c oins tho its inevitable ... |

I dont know as much about the project as others in here does, but one key difference between safenet and tor is that on tor you still need a server to host a website. On safenet its broken into several tiny bits which are stored on many different servers. Everyone can run a server and get paid in safecoins for it. It makes it more or less impossible to attack websites or services running on safenet. |

The SAFE Network doesn't connect you to the normal WWW. Instead you could register a public name like safe:myweblog and people will use a specialized browser ( being worked on right now) to view you site. And it's fully P2P so no centralized servers. So upload your website and the network will store it forever. Same for data. You pay some Safecoin to upload (PUT) data to the network and it's there as long as you want. You can also store private data. It's split in chunks and fully encrypted. And through all the encryption and obfuscation layers no one has a clue what you are doing and who you are. So no government can shut this thing down as long as there's internet. They also won't come after you for watching a pirated movie as they don't know you've watched it. Same for Wikileaks, they could store Terabytes of data and no one could shut them down. Download the Launcher and Demo App from the TEST 7 Topic on the forum and see what this is all about. |
