Privacy is a cat and mouse game between the development team and the regulators. The development team is winning, however, the regulators will pressure the weakest links between the people and the coin.  

One of the weakest links are the centralized exchanges. The regulators will win that game but there are solutions. Decentralized exchanges. Cat and mouse hehehe.

A few days ago i asked about transaction priority and fees. I'm using a gui wallet in simple mode. Today i tried send moneroand...faled. What am i doing wrong? Is it because of a small comission? Can i send monero using simple mode?

OK. The first time I tried a very small amount. Just for the test. Now I have tried a few more. And ... it worked.

What are you complaining? Take another node to distribute your transaction, not all nodes are running correctly, that's the way the story goes

many years ago, when the GUI was finally released and I got drunk on Barolo to celebrate, I unwittingly created the Monero Barolo meme on IRC.

Since I live close to the Barolo region I thought I should make something nice from it, something that people might enjoy. So here goes:

What are you complaining? Take another node to distribute your transaction, not all nodes are running correctly, that's the way the story goes  

This is not possible in simple mode. I can not download the whole blockchain which is riquired in advanced mode.
And that's what i asked early, why cannot i select a specific node in simple mode? I can change remote node, but I don't know what changed. I even cannot see which node i connected to.

Am I complaining? I'm looking for help. In the new release of the gui wallet the options have been cut. Can't understand why. This is inconvenient. And I can't use my wallet. That's the reason, isn it?

I spent a lot of time before transaction was completed. I was trying send over and over again. And, finaly...sent.

Also i'm not shure if the problem is with the remote node. The fees is too low. And that can be the problem too.

Shapeshift was a victim of success:  Too easy to use, too popular, too trusted in both the Monero and Zcash communities...  I think that they came under heavy pressure.

Yes, you can use advanced mode with a remote node and it will not download the blockchain.

If your concerned about your transaction being traced I would wait until this issue is handled, using a remote node even if trusted is not recommended. If you don't care if the transaction ever gets revealed then go for it.

If I was a devious person and wanted to attack the mindshare of Monero I would compromise trusted nodes and then insert a bug that herded people use those nodes. Then I would use that information to expose transactions and fud the project. I'm sure this isn't what happened but if you wear a tinfoil hat then this is a thought.

Agreed! And also real decentralized exchanges similar to Bisq.

Monero will also be the leading cryptocoin for grey markets. Centralized exchanges that do not demand KYC and are moderately isolated from mainstream cryptocoin markets.

I reckon many maximalists will look at this as leaving Monero behind. However, Monero is really establishing the way ahead.

The have only about 10 examples linked to a word, that's it.

They could be running a honey pot site and get that many customers to "reveal" nothing very interesting.

It is known you can take extra security if you chose. TCPIP is TCPIP.

Monero is in constant development and is always maturing. I expect this to continue.
