i'm also waitting for a optimized cpu minning tool, it seems that somebody has that version, now it's unfair for vs whice use the old tool~~
Why would you do that when mining with the existing miner is still very profitable? (And I would add does not risk wasting your time mining unspendable coins or other problems, as happened to people using another too-hastily-released mining tool.) Testing is good. Be patient. I mined with 4x Core i7 3770 for four days straight and didn't find a block. doesn't seem profitable to me. was I just unlucky? Of course. No calculations required even. If you get no blocks, that is always below expectation. If you get some blocks, then you need to look at actual numbers to figure out luck. If you don't want to be patient, use a pool. I recommend that small scale miners just be patient though, and avoid possible issues with pool integrity and efficiency. If you expect to get 2 coins per day, that around $1. Whether you get that dollar or not (or get more) is unlikely to make or break you. Large scale miners can solo mine. It's the guys in the middle who really need pools.

well you can try and read the OP and monero.cc guides to find out or you can always try better coins like Pandacoin, ComedyGoldcoin, Fuckcoin, Kumacoin, Failcoin and the rest if that suits you better. P.S. try to maybe ask a question of what you dont understnad here or on IRC...

Because, unlike almost every other altcoin out there, this isn't just a copy/paste clone that already has all the tools/infrastructure built up around it. People are going to actually have to build things from scratch. This is the very reason why this coin will stand out amongst a sea of crap--it's different. Is it hard to use? Yes, it isn't exactly easy. But some genius programmer will probably decide to solve the problem and then we'll get a proper miner. We just need to give it time. This isn't a pump/dump, but rather something that will actually provide benefit to the users once it is more robust.

You should persist. Instructions here are quite straightforward: http://www.monero.cc/It's a new type of coin. Not a clone of bitcoin. So, it needs developed. You could just be glad you have the chance to get in early

This is one reason I recommend just be patient and solo mine if you are a small scale miner. You avoid all problems with pools, not just integrity and hacks, but also one more layer of bugs on top of the coin software itself. (Your hash rate is likely zero at this point.) With that said, I may launch a pool for Monero once the pool software is reliable enough for me to recommend it. It will have some features that are unique anywhere in the crypto space. If you want an invite send me a PM with "pool invite" in the subject.

I'll point my i7's at this pool tomorrow and give it another go.

Noodle is doing some final tests on Windows and will begin testing on Linux. He expects hashrate should increase across all architectures. I can confirm a 5x increase on an i7 quad-core + Windows 7 64-bit.
Please be patient. These are actual changes to the program, not just a switch that gets flicked on. It needs testing.

Around 740000. I multiply number of blocks which is almost 43000 with an avergae block payout which i put 17.2. Block reward started at 17.5 i think and is now at 16.89.

I mined with 4x Core i7 3770 for four days straight and didn't find a block. doesn't seem profitable to me. was I just unlucky? What was your hash rate? Here's the computation for my i7-4770, which gets roughly 25 hashes/sec (I'm not at it now): blocks/day = (86400*hashes/sec) / diff Diff *now* is really high, but yesterday it was around 16,000,000, so: 86400*25/16000000 = 0.135 Which means that it should find a block every 1/0.135 = 7.4 days. Your 3770s are probably similar, so with 4 of them, you should find a block every 2 days or so. You could have been unlucky or maybe I over-estimated the hash rate you were getting. With diff at 35m, you'll get a block every 4 days. I'd probably move to a pool, because while you should be getting 4-5 MRO per day from your setup, it'll be very bursty. Huh? I have an i7-4770K, and I get ~35h/s. And I'm only using 6 threads, so I don't lock up the system if I try to compile something. The K is a bit faster than the 4770 for this one, based on comparing notes with some other people. I was guessing from memory - it probably gets more like 29.
