Short question: I started local harvesting. Do I have to keep my browser and the wallet open for harvesting? Or in other words: What can I close?
You can close browser when you harvest locally but don't turn off NIS (shield in the tray)
http://blog.nem.io/how-local-and-delegated-harvesting-works/

I am doing it locally. So, I can close the wallet before closing my browser, right?

Yes. Try it and then check if you are online here: http://nodeexplorer.com/ On the lower right you can enter the name (just the begining of your name is sufficient) and you'll be able to see the status of your node.

Blockchain pruning will be included with the next release of NXT. This could be the end of NEM.

Lol. As long as cryptos have adoption similar to hddvd we're good.
Also it seems to "only" be pruning of messages. Wonder how much that'll even do. Is the NXT blockchain so bloated with messages ?

Usually you don't need to do that, but you can backup the database. It is called "nis5_mainnet.h2.db" and you find it on windows here: c:\users\%your-username%\nem\nis\data

to all those people that think this isn't important should read this:

NEM people are starting to become arrogant, look at how big the NEM blockchain is and that is mostly from one person.

I think apps like InstantDEX use messages.  These aren't "G'day mate, howz it hangin?" type messages lol

I'm aware that it's not only about user messages but also about AMs from services.
My question still stands. It's also only a question not an attack or belittleing NXTs improvement.

Idea for Nem AE :

It is necessary that there was an opportunity to create assets which if on the account lie 10 days, for the 11th day from the account 10% burn down. Time and percent of combustion have to be adjustable at initial creation of an asset. It is initially possible to put of 10 days, and so on, i.e. any numbers. Thus at anybody such assets won't be able long to lie too long. For each 10 days of their lying on the account, or if term to put another, from them will be written off and forever to be destroyed on 10%.

Thus on Nem AE there will be a mechanism of creation of Gezellevy free cash which fight against moneymaking and do so commodity turnover increases. This money stimulates people constantly to spend but not to accumulate. Thus, if we on the basis of the crypto NEM platform on Nem AE have an opportunity to create this free cash, Shaymuratiki, and all other future money, new, on Shaymuratovo's analog, will be already present on Nem AE.

it would be trivial to setup a script to transfer back and forth between accounts, thus the people with more money would have a higher incentive to cheat such a system. In the end only the people with less wealth will be the ones that finance such a system.
