The way NEM is listed on coinmarketcap is actually advantageous. When the coin does actually launch, it'll increase 4 times in capitalization overnight -
so it could hypothetically pop up on launch day between $20 to $40 million (#4 to #6 on coinmarketcap) and everyone would be thinking "what the heck, who are these guys and how did they enter the top 5 so quickly". It may even trigger an aurora styled buying frenzy.
Or glut in supply drives price per share down . Except the market price is determined by who's willing to sell (supply) and who's willing to buy (demand), and anyone willing to sell their NEM can already. I wouldn't speculate that all the dumpers have already done so. I'd say there are folks that haven't flipped their share for an AE token yet for two reasons: 1) Too lazy to fuss with NXT. Plenty of posts littered in here to that effect. 2) Belief that they'll get more on launch day than now, so they'll wait until launch day to dump. Why bother with a token now when you'd have to wait two weeks. If you sit tight, exchange on launch day, then dump you'd be ahead of the AE guys. You're forgetting opportunity cost. Dump NEM right now, pocket $2K, buy $hitclones and make $20K profit. All before NEM launches sometime between July - September. Naturally this would be contrasted by the long term strategy, that if you hold onto your NEM then hypothetically a NEM stake could be worth between $5 million to $100 million.. I'm running by the thesis that crypto currencies will be worth $1 trillion in 10 years (vs $2 trillion investment gold, $500 billion global remittance, $97 trillion investments world wide, $400 trillion derivatives). Dot.com bubble in late 1990s was $7 trillion and back then fewer people used the internet.

Hi cmason22! You'll be able to convert your stake to NEM after the official launch. Conversion of NEMstake tokens to NEM: Owners of NEMstake tokens need to send the total amount of owned tokens back to the issuer (patmast3r's issuing account) and put their NEM address in the "comment" field of the transaction to receive the corresponding amount of NEM in the receiving address. Caution: you could lose your share if you don't put in the correct NEM address in the "comment" field.

A sweet idea in practice. Usually horrendous in reality. That's why I gave up and grabbed a stake in NEM.

Are buyers of nemstake (bignem) included in the nemesis block ? I read about two weeks delays for those.
Yes, there is a 2 week delay after genesis, so that we can handle the logistics of distributing NEMstake. Correction: most likely buyers of nemstakes on nxt ae WILL be included in nemesis (that's still being discussed) nemesis = NEM genesis (block)? In some game it means more like an archenemy

NEM Alpha on Mac OS X / Linux
I am trying and trying to install NEM on my mac. I have installed Java 8 and downloaded the file and unzipped, but I am stuck no step 2. "What is unpack to cd to package"? and How do I "set permissions"? I copy and pasted the line "chmod +x nix.runNis.sh && chmod +x nix.runNcc.sh" in to terminal but it tells me "no such file or directory exists". change to the dir where nix.runNis.sh and nix.runNcc.sh are. The network seems to be down at the moment so your client won't be able to connect right now. How do I change the dir where nix.runNis.sh and nix.runNcc.sh are? what should I click on or type? Hi jabo38, you use the change directory (cd) command: http://alvinalexander.com/unix/edu/examples/cd.shtmlfor example It worked. I have now got NEM going on a Mac and Windows 8.1! Thanks

if you have already applied for it then you must wait until pat distributes them and yes but you will have to wait 2 weeks after official launch before nem tokens are redeemed and then you will have 2 weeks or more to redeem them. so there wont be any rush thanks. Who is PAT?

I think you assume the NEM at launch will be the same as it is now. The core dev. said they are adding features. NEM at the current form is better than many coins at launch so it is reasonable to expect something much better two months from now. Perhaps the guys that are too lazy to dump will get lucky this times.

NEM will be the best coin with a difference but what it makes a coin to raise value is marketing, look a wankcoin, it has nothing and just only its name and marteking is raising its value like crazy, it has multiply by 10 in less than a day. Its all about good Marteking

NEM Alpha on Mac OS X / LinuxInstall Java 8. Check java -version via Terminal, it should return 1.8. If it doesn't you need to set a symlink to your new version. => Symlink on Mac OS X: sudo ln -fs "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home/bin/java" /usr/bin/java Confirm by typing java -version again, should return 1.8. 1. Download latest release from http://bob.nem.ninja2. unpack and cd to package; set permissions: chmod +x nix.runNis.sh && chmod +x nix.runNcc.sh 3. first launch Nis 4. open new terminal window, cd to package dir and launch Ncc 5. head over to http://localhost:8989/ncc/web/index.html6. click on the arrow next to your username (top right corner), boot local node Enjoy Alpha I am trying and trying to install NEM on my mac. It is best when the tech and the marketing can be combined. Lol at wankcoin I looked it up since you mentioned it.
