....

As far as buying in, i still think if you believe you buy in now.  Price rises too high for software, oh well...

Considering the price was much higher, near to 32,000 Satoshis, the current price could be a bargain (this assumes the development continues).

@sigwo. Nope.  Markus has been working too much at job to get much done.  Updates coming, but I doubt in any other language at this point.

Sad but understandable.

...I have stated many times that from my point of view, it is a winner either way.  High coin price, win.  Great software, win...

... Maybe allow a purchase of 1k qtl to temp unlock the bot for 72 hours or something, it could be tied to a local address built in and created by the bot so that it would be harder to workaround and get unlimited free trials.

2nd, this just hit me, if the goal is to tie up the coins, offer a destroy X # of coins to unconditionally unlock the bot. I like the bot enough that I would take that option if it was available, until he can fix the "not enough qtl" error, its killing my profitability. I will go to bed with the bot working fine and wake up to find it stopped working only a couple hours after I crashed, leaving the bot not running for 6-8 hours at a time.

I'd really love to see the Quatloo trader succeed.

rdyoung, as to the time limit that you suggest I'd be careful with that and would generally advise against it. First, it opens to many potential loopholes for people attempting to get unlimited free trials. Second, there is no real point to it. You can easily buy Quatloo coins, test the software and if it doesn't fulfill your requirements you can sell it easily at the market. Where else do you have such a good sales opportunity for software? You might even be able to achieve the same price.

In case you sell a little bit lower consider it a small fee for beeing able to test it. Sounds fair to me.

Yes, there are ways to scam any free trial offering. One could probably find away to trick the bot into thinking they had the 20k to unlock the current features, if one was creative and motivated enough. If light wallet like electrum was integrated into the bot then each instance of the bot would generate its own new address for unlocking features as well the free trial. There are ways to combat the free trial scammers, there is also the fact that if someone is using your software for free and like it, its free advertising, not everyone they tell about it will scam for the free offer. There is also the consideration that markus doesn't directly benefit from the coins being bought for the conditional freeware, I am sure he holds a ton of coins and uses the bot to trade with, so his profit comes indirectly from the success of qtl and the bot.

If/when the coin increases in value, if the price in qtl stays the same the barrier for entry will be raised. While this is sometimes a good thing, you have to be careful to not price most of your potential customers out of the market. Those with money to burn can afford to have their own trading bot coded for their personal/company use, those of us making our living off of this new economy can't all afford that as an option.

Considering it is coded/compiled to work with .NET, its doubtful any other OS would be supported at all, unless he changed the programming language.
I have it on my list of todos to test it under wine in linux and see if it will work, been meaning to get around to testing it, but have been busy with other work stuff.

Markus talked about coding it in Java at one time.  Don't know if he would still be willing to or not.

As far as pricing customers out of the software, that would probably be fine with this because you then get the investors going in the coin.  That is the whole reason I jumped in the minute I read about this one, I figured it had the potential either way.

A small group of successful traders would make this highly desirable and then the others you mentioned earlier that do not use the Trader would go for the coin, which is where the real money is anyhow.

I also agree and have always believed that the whales already have their software and systems and they do not need this.  However, everyone in coins would go for a coin that rises steadily, which certainly should be the case here if development keeps going.

I do think that if a dozen exchanges were eventually encompassed by this Trader, the ease of buying and selling with the simple and same interface makes this awesome for many, even without advanced features.  I have written my own trading interface, and still open QTL to do most trading anyway, just because I am used to it and it is simple.

Believe me, I wish at this point Markus had a couple of other programmers that he trusted to bang out upgrades.  This could be much bigger than it is........

Well, speculated enough for now, let's see what tomorrow brings.

I am wondering if markus knows that cryptsy has multiple api hosts. This outage he is talking about has lasted for more than a week, not simply 36 hours.

This is a good question. I just hope that he visits the thread here and catches up on the conversation.

If he doesn't add redundant hosts or the ability for us to change/set the hosts for exchanges, we will see the same issue the next time cryptsy or polo takes a crap. Cryptsy is by far the worst, but polo has been having some issues for me as of late, getting a ton of nonce errors.

For those not watching the qtl twitter account. I and a business partner both asked if he was aware of the multiple api hosts, he replied that he has been using api.cryptsy.com, this explains all the issues we have been seeing. Not sure how I feel about someone coding a bot for api based trading who doesn't even keep up with what hosts are available at the exchanges they are trying to support.

Out of curiosity, got a list of fixes?

Also, any chance you fold the register into QTL if the others are letting CXC die?
