I'm Still waiting for my motherboards to arrive, and when they do they will sit under the GPU's (I built two of those Kinex frames). The frames are actually strong enough to support being picked up  Grin Also sorry for the huge image.

K'nex. win!

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

nixxle- May I ask what model of camera you took those photos with?    TIA

check the EXIF - iPhone 4
if the metadata is genuine you got a awesome house  **link removed by request of Acejam**

Yeah I was just going to caution people against using location-aware phones and posting pics to the internet.

Anyone can view your EXIF data and view the GPS coordinates.  Boom, they instantly know where you live.

Either turn off location services or convert the jpg to png before posting to strip the EXIF.  Or spoof your location data to somewhere else.

This is my "simple" miner. Nothing fancy, 2x 6870 with room for a third card. I need to get a SATA flat-cable before it fits probably, I've already ordered one.

http://www.redcode.nl/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/miner01.jpg

I've tried to keep it as clean as possible, not blocking any airflow. Running the GPU fans on half speed gets it down to 74 degrees for both cards, mostly thanks to the bit of cardboard jammed between the GPU's to allow just a bit more air in between.

well.. I've bough about 70-80% of all 5970's sold in UK (new and used) in Jan-Apr 2011. And it is not that many... have to use surrogates now...

How much money did you have when you started bitcoin mining. Did your mining contracts pay for most of the early hardware?

OMG! That's why I can't get any of those! Smiley

50x 5870, if I count properly ~ 21 GH/sec .. nice, man!
My small rig feels frightened ..

Vladimir, I'd love to see your cooling setups. I'm assuming you are in a datacenter with AC and exhaust.

Here's my newest 3x5830 setup.

I pulled the middle card out @ lunch because of heat issues.  Going to try putting it in w\ an extension later tonight for better air flow and cooling.

These are the Sapphire 5830 Extreme? Have you tried to push outer cards more out of the center one? Like, sticking 5 mm spreader between 1-2 and 2-3 ?

I plan to build exactly the same 3x5830 configuration and have similar worries about heat issues.

I found this stackable open air case on Amazon... does anyone have it?

http://amzn.to/jPdb7e

It looks like it may be a great mining rig case.  I may pick one up once I build another rig in the near future.

Wow, can't believe I never thought of using a shelving system like in that picture.  My shit is just all of the floor.  That would be much cleaner.
