Cointelegraph (owned by Minergate) is not in good standing with the community. I wonder why the owner of xmrwallet.com would choose to advertise there of all places... It probably still reach a lot of people, which is good to attract new people to get to know Monero. [edited: 1740 views of this article until now, which is not really a big number IMO] Probably better then other media news. And of course in the end it all comes to price. Maybe Cointelegraph has lower theirs due to smaller demand. Anyway, good to see development on making using Monero easier for average user and on increasing it's utility. My suspicion is they didn't pay for advertising at all, because they're part of the same organization. Honest community members wouldn't want to have anything to do with Cointelegraph (let alone pay for the association) unless they are new and completely unaware of its history. EDIT: The Bytecoin/Minergate devs can't help but out themselves. It's like they're winking at us, in some kind of ego-driven need to let us know they're still here. I've never understood it but it fascinates me.

Eth is proving time and a gain what a hyped POS coin it has always been and when the miners leave the price will just continue down the shitter as the Scam ICO's get shut down. So it should naturally turn people attention to solid projects such as this one.
I agree ETH looks overhyped. I invite everybody to look at http://bpeindex.com/ to understand how XMR is cheap at the moment... No doubt Casper will attract GPU miners to Monero. But what do you think about the afflux of miners on the price of XMR (not ETH)? For example: - scenario1 = miners need to pay for their electricity bills in fiat, so they sell their mined XMR, which is driving the price down (miners sell, but don't buy)
- scenario2 = miners need to pay for their electricity bills in fiat, but they sell their mined XMR at least at cost price which is ~143USD with current difficulty (~51,725,000,000) & $0.10 per KW/H & 1% pool fee. I know $0.10 per KW/H might sound high but I am including the whole cost. Watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLivTR3KBxs if you don't understand the global cost of mining for big farms
- scenario3 = ?
I'd like to read various opinions of this community on this subject Well, I might get the answer to my question even before the introduction of Casper as many miners switched to Monero since last week: Let's sit and observe now.

Monero is down right now like everything else. I'm checking MA50 with 4hours graphic, prices still hasn't touched ma50. If it goes below 0.01640 btc, it may go down more :/ I hope it recovers from there.
XMR did not lose so much in comparison with some other cryptocurrencies which are in the top-20. Moreover, Monero managed to show his best potential - recently it was growing well. Monero is still very difficult to use by an ordinary user. The big chance for Monero is now. With the speculative market down. It should still prove useful as the main anonymous currency. The king of the dark net. The free currency. However the available wallets are still very bad. The fees are high. And few use as a currency. Still, I believe in the project, but it's sad that they are wasting the best chance they could have. The GUI wallet works very well. When bulletproofs come out fees will be cheaper Is there any ETA for bulletproofs? Next fork IIRC, which is slated for OCT I think.

Self-moderated thread for discussion of Monero trading and price speculation. Off topic posts will be removed. Off topic includes any extensive discussion of other coins, promoting other coins, or posting of promotional materials from other coins. Non-substantive comments such as Monero sucks, Monero is a scam, Monero is great, Monero to the moon, etc. are considered off topic. Every post and reply should add to the discussion. The preceding sentence forbids repetitive exchanges on the same topic without some topical context. Hostile trolling (which includes but is not limited to use of "meme" pictures to attack or demean) especially by sock puppet accounts is not allowed. When quoting posts, please remove any large charts or other images unless the quoted post is at least one page old. Please shrink (or remove) large images in replies in all cases. When I am speaking as the moderator, and only then, I will write in red. Other messages using red text are not permitted. People speculating on Monero may also be interested in the MoneroMarkets subreddit (unaffiliated) Monero is a coin based upon the idea of complete privacy and security. It is a coin whose transactions are completely anonymous and untraceable making it one of the better privacy coins available out there. Even the amount sent can't be traced making it one of the better choices for black market. Monero has one of the better development teams backing it which is another factor which makes it fit for investment. I think the coin has tremendous amount of potential to grow and you can easily expect it's value to be around 400-500$ by end of this year for sure.

I do not understand anything for this xmr I am constantly changing the price. I guess it's a coin that whales love so much. because the price change sometimes makes me dizzy.
You are right was $70 then $140 then back to $100. Easily to make a fortune out of it or lose almost everything. In just a month that was not even that turbulent. And it seems we are going back to $140 again. Just usual weeks in crypto.

Monero is a very good coin and what it most often uses for anonymous transactions speaks volumes. I believe that this is a coin when the growth of the market will necessarily increase in price.

We got close to ZEC price again in last days, but did not get ahead. I dont believe Monero was ever more expensive then ZEC so far. This was sort of destined to happen because of the emission. Doubt many here speculated it will not happen this long. Any ideas when Monero will get more expensive then ZEC?

I made a post here on April 22, 2018 where I recorded that the price of XMR > ZEC - at least on CMC. Didn't last long though.

Probably soon (2-10 days). But we will see if the higher price will last. I am no expert in TA but it seems like they have pretty similar support levels (around $90-$100) so we will see which one will be stronger. What do you think the consequences of this "flippening" may be? BTW. Just saw this article today explaining how private ZCash really is.
