Any ETA on the website coming back up from the "routine database maintenance".

Thanks! Smiley

Edit: seems to be up now, shortly after posting this.

Well it must of been up for a short while because its down again. Tried clearing all my cookies, DNS cache fresh, and even tried on my mobile device. They are down. Again

Seems people stopped complaining because they gamble somewhere else now.

We have noticed that the state of the Bitcoin network currently requires transaction fees substantially higher than 100 satoshis per kb in order to get confirmed within the first couple of blocks. We have increased the fee to target 200 satoshis per kb in order to ensure quick withdrawals. If you deposit, please make sure to make sure to have the transaction include a sufficient fee!

https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ is a handy tool to see what fee you should use.

Are you guys on the blockchain?

Originally they were, but it would be too expensive to do that anymore since blocksize is limited to 1MB and blocks are always full.
It's just not feasible to do that anymore.

I would love to get some clarity from Satoshi Dice in terms of who actually owns and runs the site now?

Are the rumors true that it has been bought and sold many times from when Erik Vorhees was involved in the original sale?

How long have the current owners had the site?

To be fair Satoshi Dice has been a mess over the last year or so in terms of usability, trustworthiness and just falling behind the latest Dice sites.

I am still a firm believer this site can be amazing again. But it needs a lot of trust to be earned back.

I think its still the same owners since it was sold a few years ago. But lately I think the developers have been very busy with other venues that they don't do much updates or support with the site and its starting to go down-hill.

Like I said before many many times, they should hire someone who can do the support and maintenance of the website whenever it goes down, and whenever someone has a ticket issues. However they don't want to. Maybe they are having capital problems.

Maybe, but they have at least money to pay for an advertisement campaign here on BitcoinTalk, looking for investors!

Its hard to say because some of the site outages still exist however a couple weeks ago the admin was online and he fixed many of the issues. I don't think its a scam but I really think the owner is being very negligible. And when it comes to other's people money, that's never a good thing.

I don't understand why they don't hire staff. Around the world there are people willing to work at almost any rates, and it would really help this site.

The gaming server parc in Curacao usually has no outages. So they probaly do not pay for technical stuff.

A $12 million investment dead is really sad for the investor!

But they will for sure do it better with mega... The name itself should guarantee the success!

Well going to Satoshidice.com ends up being redirected to https://bitcoinvideocasino.com/dice
Which looks like a scam site I've never heard of. I wonder if they sold their domain name or if they forgot to renew their domain name fee?

Yeah bitcoinvideocasino.com is the older of Satoshidice.com. It's connected . No suprise if you go to the link satoshidice.com and it shows up bitcoinvideocasino.com. They're the same website , same owner. Hope they didn't have any problems in the older website cause the present website is not bad.

This thread should be locked. The satoshidice name is dead and no more, it was rebranded as MegaDice and here is the official thread

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1828431

So sad to see such a trademark die.

I think they've sold the domain. bitcoinvideocasino is an old site, they have bct thread. here have a look https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=130242.0

This is what makes no sense then. If the same owner of Satoshidice is also Bitcoinvideocasino, then why didn't he just redirect all the Satoshidice traffic to Megadice instead it goes to this old site. It doesn't make sense.

Something very strange and fishy going on with all these sites in my opinion.

Why did they create Megadice?

If they created Megadice to get rid of the connection to the satoshidice scam, it would make no sense to redirect the satoshidice traffic to Megadice, would it?

They destroyed a $12 million brand! So yes, something is odd here!

First of all, Satoshidice wasn't a confirmed scam. It was more of a badly run and bad customer support. Later in the end from what I heard in the forum thread is that they paid out thousands to someone who had trouble making a withdraw.

But what doesn't make sense here is why not redirect the traffic to Megadice?

Looking at the WHOIS, it doesn't look like it was an owner transfer of domain.

First of all, Satoshidice wasn't a confirmed scam.
The 303 BTC slot win reduction from the dice investor balances is a confirmed scam:

Satoshidice scam, 500+ Bitcoins defrauded and disappeared!

Register new account, make $250 slot bet and win 303 BTC jackpot is an assumed scam.

They deleted 10 of my posts in a row in regards to this topic last week.

But what doesn't make sense here is why not redirect the traffic to Megadice?
As soon as we know what the sense of Megadice is, we will have the answer.

Hi I would like to start playing this again, I was a long-term player of Satoshi Dice but stopped playing around the start of the year when I started hearing reports of fishy activity.
So just checked in for the first time and seen all this megadice/Bitcoinvideocasino stuff, not really sure what is going on.
Megadice looks just like a reskinned Satoshi Dice though, so is this is all sorted now and Megadice is functioning as it claims? Would appreciate it if someone using a non-shill account could confirm if they have been able to deposit, bankroll, withdraw, etc, with no problems, on Megadice?
And what is Bitcoinvideocasino all about?
