Quick question, how long does it take to submit a share that solves a difficult block here or any block for that matter?
I'm asking because I have my miners auto restart every 12 hours, due to my custom configuration (Auto downclocks during the day, due to hot weather, then it restart and auto clocks to normal speed during the night, due to cooler weather and not have to worry about heat issues building up in my garage).
Would submitting a share that solves a block ever take longer then 12 hours?
I'm just curious if rebooting my RPI every 12 hours would prevent the miners from solving a possible block here... Please chime in. Thanks all...

Heh, no you submit a share NOW when you find it. There's no build up to finding a block, blocks are independent (pseudo)random events. There's no state in mining - meaning you don't get to some point and then find a block just after that. There's no way to say when ANY hardware will find a block, and if you happened to turn it off just before it would have found a block, no one (including yourself) will ever know that. It's (pseudo)random. Turning hardware off simply means you lower the chance of finding a block. If you reboot it daily and that takes a minute, then you simply have reduced you probability of finding blocks by 0.07%

Linode is at it again. SG node has fallen off the network - between USA<->SG It's still having problems (pings failing and my test miner failing to connect) Linode themselves have just reported having problems so ... once they sort that out, everyone on SG should fail back.
Edit: seems like (from the worker counts) most SG miners failed over to the main pool node
Edit2: mining connection network has come back to life now ... all should be OK again
Edit3: well that only lasted 5 minutes ... problem reoccurring ...
Edit4: OK everyone mining on SG has failed back to SG ... lets hope it stays that way this time ...
Edit5: and ... 20 mins later losing connections again ...
Edit6: block!
Edit7: block again! (SG may be ok again ... we'll see in the next 5 minutes)

Linode can go down anytime as long as blocks follows. ...

Edit8: Nope ... SG still having problems Edit9: I've stopped the actual SG node pool running since at the time there was no one connected due to the network problems and any time someone manages to conenct it's not long before they disconnect again I'll give it an hour and hope linode bothers to actually respond and do something about it in the mean time ... Edit10: OK seems to be ok again - and had no alerts for a while - so SG is up and running again. SG hash rate is climbing back up ...

is anyone experiencing de nodeidus
Yeah it's being a bit strange. Working, sorta, except I can't login to it directly, only via another server. Hash rate is currently about half the usual (1.2PH vs ~2.5PH)

Yeah linode is now saying they are under DDoS attack (in DE) Weird though (as I mentioned above) that half the hash rate is OK.

Looking over the last 4 blocks; djgorilla (38.37THs), 18P6kVSoM (3.25THs), and drfoster (4.34THs) all get on the Acclaim Board with their 1st kano block! Small miners rule! We can always count on TCSDR1 as he hits his 9th kano block! What a night!

I wish I had been mining here since I first started mining about 4 months ago. I would certainly have a lot more coins in my wallet! Live and learn. Now to find a block of my own for the first time!
