Even the wolves have nothing for sale right now.  Come on Avalon so we add to Kano.is!

I know...I noticed S9s seemed to be pau (Hawaiian for all done) a while back. From my personal, admittedly sometimes nimrod, view there is one (and more, I'm sure, but this one I prefer to hold) set of reasons for nothing being heard, and no S9s being built. If the rumors of an "A7" are founded in something, then it is probably in a performance/power/cost range that would put it hands down over the S9. If I were building S9s, I'd hold off on new batches if I had reason to believe I really needed an S10 instead...I'd be putting my resources into that S10.

Anyway...assuming the rumors are not rumors...I think we'll know with certainty one way or the other by 1 Oct. Dunno why that date particularly, but it seems about as long as a company might be able to reasonably keep a secret like that...if it's a true thing.

 Cool

not sure if the avalon 7 will be a better miner, but the s-9  chip is not durable.

The death rate is very high on the hashboards.

This has to be causing them a lot of problems on many levels.
Even though USA based bitmainwarranty.com  now offers an s9 with 3 ,9 or 12 month warranties  and will allow for paypal I am waiting to decide if I want more.

With no info on A7 in sight and S9 boards failing without repair capability from Bitmain themselves...

I have gone to Plan B to collect more BTCs, as a temporary solution.

Sad reality this, in my humble opinion....

Would you tell more about plan B ? maybe in private

Plan B is buy or trade BTC when it goes below 600$...

Plan C is off topic so take that offline.

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

For all Avalon-minded here. There is definitely smth moving on and the project a7 is not dead.
HagssFIN analysed parts of the code from GitHub meant for Avalon7.

Wowzers...read it...looks decent. We shall see...  Cool

Patience... is moving an entire mountain, one stone at a time.

It's typing 1,401,822 characters of ckdb source + web + sql code ... 1 character at a time Cheesy
(that's just my part of ckpool)

LOL... that's a lot of code - if that is your portion, I cannot imagine -ck's half.

In actual lines of code, kano's portion is likely a lot more than mine, and while lines of code does not necessarily directly correlate with effort, it shows how much effort kano has put into this pool.

Pretty upsetting, yeah...
But still variance is a fact. There will be other 10+ blocks days at the same pool hashrate as we had not so long ago, and that will make stats page green again, and then this blockchain samsara circle of green-to-red-and-back turns around again and again...
Knowing and accepting variance is the famous "Middle path" of Buddhism in cryptographic era.

Not quite the redest, but close.
You can check the 5 block luck on the Pool->Luck graph for the last 1000 blocks ... the green line (turn off the purple line)

Will be a ckpool restart at 09:00 UTC in about 45minutes.

All miners will simply reconnect immediately.
If your miner or rental can't handle a standard reconnect, then it will probably failover and then fail back again.

Restart was a little late - I ended up doing it at 09:08 UTC due to some code issues.
All went ok for the restart.

So 5 block with over 95% CDF in the last 11, that's pretty impressive.

That means some green light is just around the corner !
