It doesn't mean I'm going to sell my share of Bay because sooner or later another so called "whale" as you say it would join in and try to pump it and I can get out during that pump.

No idiot whale will jump into this coin knowing full well that 3 people own 35% of the supply.

lmao  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

If marketplace launches and it works. I for one would be more than happy to take that 35% bucket out of their hands. I have real use of Bay and I'm not here to play pnd games.

This.  You should have more than enough to live on from your part David.  I would recommend doing nothing but sleeping (sooner would probably be better than later) and then working harder than you've ever worked to not only deliver everything here and in halo... but also providing everything you've got on all parties involved.  Yes, you got extorted and threatened by lowlifes... but the lesson here is that if you aren't part of a fraud, then you can't be extorted in the first place.  If the worst that could have been trotted out against you was the fact that you were being threatened by a 'FUD squad'... a brief shakeout would have been all that resulted.  You got played, but we got played more - and although I can believe you (and possibly Steven) were 100% behind the concept... Lin appears to have been complicit in numerous aspects of fraud, from pre-ICO times - so I'm not sure the BTER side of things is gonna help anything at all.

At least we can put the ICO days behind us in crypto with this... unfortunately that basically means that there's no way to organically fund projects of this magnitude.  VC 'angels' in the real world aren't really much different from Bob and company unfortunately... especially if the venture doesn't do exactly what they say when they say it.  Sad

las vegas suckard is about to shiver.http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitbay/ you can befuddle yourself you can convince yourself not to believe .but the data never lie.

Hmmm... not sure what you think you're saying here... I am in agreement with you both on this being a failure of epic proportions and of it not having been honest from the beginning - as the part you quoted indicates.  I was fooled along with many others.  Not sure why you have a hard-on for me in particular?  Whatever floats your boat though.  Nothing different about this that can't be said about tons of scams that have occurred previously - and undoubtedly will continue for the extended future.  I'm pretty sure the sun will still rise tomorrow, the same as it did yesterday and today.

Can you have the link to this thread removed on CMC? A few weeks of peace would do you good if you want to focus.

I have invested 4 BTC in this coin , and if the scam is real, this is the BTER responsability to give us back our BTC

Crypto is there to lower barriers of money transfers and free markets and that's pretty much it. There is no cryptographic primitive that guarantees fairness (or anonymity  Shocked ), but there are laws of thermodynamics that keeps pushing for more efficient systems and decentralized marketplaces are right there on that path. It WILL happen, as Moore's law is just happening. Whether David is the enabler of this technology or not is entirely up to him.

I believe there's still a future for ICO deals like this. They only need to be handled with more transparency.

Yes. Maybe one day ICOs will be fully blockchained too.  Smiley

Except for the fact that, based purely on logs posted by both David and Bob there seems to be the little issue of whether or not the ICO itself was even legitimate - on BTER's end I mean.  It appears that there may not have even been as much actual BTC's involved as we previously thought.  We need transparency on this issue especially IMO... because whether a single coin is good or bad is one thing, if one or more of the exchanges running them are completely cooking the books is another.  Because people very rarely do something only once... so if that is the case with BAY... it's undoubtedly the case with others as well.  At the very least I would want to see transparent accounting from day one for this... for all parties, but especially BTER.

(And no, I don't seriously expect that to ever happen)  Angry

I hate to say it but this one Barabbas called correctly.  I have to give him that at least...

Actually, there was never a real reason to open the ICO for trade so soon after it finished. I never really thought about this until now.

For an investor it makes much more sense to go into an ICO that keeps the coins locked until all the milestones have been reached and there's a full exchange running for 60 days. That's much more security than any peg could ever offer.

That's funny. That's exactly what I invested.

Put the first 3 in in the IPO at 280. Then another 0.5 at 123 thinking I was being clever, then another 0.5 at 88 thinking I was being even cleverer. Unconsciously I was being dumb as f*ck the whole time.

I'm now done investing in new coins. I'll stick with my BTC, DRK, NXT and BTS since they all seem to have a future. Have lost on every single investment I've made in the last 6 months and am sick of seeing it dwindle away to nothing.

He's said that he would.  The proof will be when you see it.  I still think he wants to do the right thing, but I've been as naive about his associations and intentions as he apparently was about them.  Embarrassed

There's nothing preventing him from continuing work, and he's been paid for it - so I would expect he will.

Ethereum is doing just that. At the same time it's taking them so long that the finished product may already be outdated when it comes out. They were valuated during the Bitcoin bubble, now there are coins (Ethercoin) from people trying to short their position on this unreleased coin.

I could see that being prevalent even considering BTC is around 25% what it was when they invested probably.  Safe short - problem will be in finding someone to hold the margin. Wink

Okay that's another vector to be accounted for. I don't know the details of Ethereum so I wouldn't know if their initial proposal was plausible. For  Bay however, I can just say it was. Everything apart from the ICO seemed decent and promising.
