Then he blatantly lied about how many invitations went out in a desperate attempt to keep XPY's value up until he could finish dumping his/GAW's/Paybase's assets for BTC. It kinda worked, too.

I think there was supposed to be a fork to invalidate old keys and create new ones, presumably distributed using a bidding process. Of course the whole process is run via forums and hangouts so good luck trying to figure it out.

Technically they could have the winners generate their own keys separately, then put the public keys in the code.
