He could make a few dollars by selling autographed vests.

Autographed or not, Garza's vest would make a fine addition to the Satoshian Institution, displayed adjacent to BFL's Jalapeño coffee warmer and ...

 Shocked Shocked Shocked  Cheesy

I used the minimum's I could think of. Also threw in the 9/11 scam charity for good measure.

Seriously that's the minimum. Just based on the amount stolen and victims involved. Two simple facts. Even if they cut it in half because he agrees to plead guilty it's a very very long. I now see why they go for this Wire Fraud even if it is one count. Some serious shit that.

Quick google, here, a shitty 300.000 $ wire fraud nets 33 months:

http://www.claiborneprogress.net/news/15120/husband-wife-sentenced-for-wire-mail-fraud-conspiracy

9 years for 9 million

http://www.boonevilledemocrat.com/news/20170718/ex-dhs-worker-gets-9-year-sentence-for-fraud

3 years for 500.000 $

http://mltnews.com/lynnwood-man-sentenced-guilty-plea-fraud-scheme-targeting-vietnamese-community/

Judge Shea Homero's judge in Connecticut too!  Cheesy

I think he standing before a Judgette in this case, not Shea. Probably angled by his attorney so he can sob about his young children and wife all alone and how he grew up on the streets and had nothing and didn't mean to do this and got caught up in the excitement of crypto currencies and he will never do it again  Roll Eyes

At the same time got to think the SEC will go for the kill. Bitcoin anything is high on their list I think.

bye bye Homero ...  Cry

This reporter's been on top of Homero from day one. Just checked only 1.5 hour drive from Brattleboro to Hartford. Anyone got a connection him? He should get on his bicycle and head down there today to be in time for the plea tomorrow, and with his press credentials he may be able to record or photograph Homero weeping as he says 'guilty'. Most definitely he should be there for the sentencing and get us a snap of Homero in cuffs so we can close the file finally.  Cheesy

Thank you. I was thinking about going but it's such short notice. I'd be real pissed if I got there and couldn't get in and/or got no photo ops.

I could definitely get there, but honestly, it would just be a waste of my time since I'd rather focus on going on vacation with my family instead. Tongue

Hopefully someone here goes and reports back - I will definitely be watching the thread in the coming days for any news! Cheesy

I sent an email to Bob Audette -- our best local reporter from Vermont.

I got this robot reply.  Hey, I'm a robot, after all....

I agree it's probably a waste of time. I sure would love to see the fear in his beady little eyes though.

The REAL fun comes at sentencing when victims get to speak directly to the Judge. (In a few weeks, most likely.)

I followed up with the Brattleboro Reformer

Bob Audette is on vaca, so he asked Chris Mays to follow up.

He said, if you have any info you would like to share, or would like to speak with him, he is at 802-254-2311, ext. 273.

Mays will go to the federal courthouse in Brattleboro to get the court docs from today & will publish them.
