Hello
perhaps what explains how the POS works? Recently put 10k VNL to my wallet (windows32, online 24/7),
so when should I wait for the first stake rewards?
thanks

Proof of Stake interest: 0.7% yearly
Min/Max age: 8 hours / 365 days
You have to unlock wallet for PoS

but if you have 10k VNL incentive node is much better option.
for now Super peer get average 2 rewards per day ,15% from 51,44 VNL (new mined block), it is 7,7 VNL so you can get ~ 15 VNL per day per Super peer

Hi BCT !

Just a quick post for linux users:

New branch in my install scripts repo: https://github.com/xCoreDev/vanillacoin-scripts/tree/rc
So use this link during the RC testing phase to build/update the daemon.

To sum:
https://github.com/xCoreDev/vanillacoin-scripts --> Points to John's Vanillacoin repo (can't build it during RC deployment phase)
https://github.com/xCoreDev/vanillacoin-scripts/tree/rc --> Points to John's Vanillacoin repo & remove the error macro (so it will build the current RC)
https://github.com/xCoreDev/vanillacoin-scripts/tree/dev --> Points to my personal Vanillacoin repo (still @ 0.3.9 atm, and will always be on last stable release when john's repo is in RC deployment phase)

Enjoy your weekend all !

It would be cool a wallet for raspberry PI so we could create super nodes running 24/7 with low power consumption

lol
I dont know to compile and not have a PI but would buy if there was a wallet.
Does anyone know a coder that could do it and how much it would charge for it?

I have noticed that I still have a memory leak issue - does anyone else notice their VNL wallet using more memory as each day goes on?

Yes

if i remember correctly john said if you computer hardware is off spec this could play and also it should grow from once the blockchain is loaded in memory over some time(for SP's only).

just in case you missed it

John has moved discussion to https://forum.bitcoin.com/vanillacoin/

if you have questions that only he can answer I would advise doing it there.

So I just setup a peer to receive incentives so can I stake and receive incentives at the same time? Should I have the wallet locked so it does not stake?

yes you can stake and receive incentives, if you put more than 10 000 coins in your wallet.

if u look at the 4.0 RC3 change list  it says :

"Incentive collateral is now kept in a reserve balance so as not to be included in Proof-of-Stake"

Meaning that if you put 50 000 coins in wallet, only 40 000 of them will be staking.

You have to unlock wallet for staking.

As for getting incentives, you just need to unlock wallet for a few minutes until you get  "votecandidate": true
Then u can lock it back.
