1001  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Strategies for Trading. on: October 22, 2022, 11:16:15 AM
Hello guys. What are the possible Currency pairs trading strategies that a newbie can follow up. It should be from personal observations, beliefs and practices. Thanks.

Go here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4846473.0

But as a complete newbie the best thing you can do is start trading with minimal possible bet. Its like 10$ for binance. Do not make it bigger unless you will end whole year on profit. That way you will make year learning as cheap as possible because 90% of new traders wipe out their savings very fast.

1003  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency and Gambling on: October 21, 2022, 04:28:54 PM
Many people still think of cryptocurrency as gambling. While gambling relies on chance, cryptocurrencies rely on arithmetic and cryptography.

Given the parallels between cryptocurrency and gambling, this makes sense. Both are fast-paced, the value of crypto is unpredictable.

Cryptocurrency is chance-based, rooted in exceptional circumstances like influencer opinions, values might drastically change.

And both crypto and gambling (online gambling) are accessible all day and night.

I see you unintentionally confused two things. Price speculation on crypto with crypto. Because crypto itself have nothing to do with gambling in oppose to crypto trading. Its the opposite of that because everything is coded and open source. So you know that there will be less than 21 mln bitcoins. You know each block is ~10 min. Fiats are more gamblish than crypto because you never know when supply will double or when someone will lock your money.
1004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BSV the end. on: October 20, 2022, 07:27:56 AM
One miner on the Bitcoin Satoshi Vision (CRYPTO: BSV) network is in total control of the hard fork, mining empty transaction blocks to capture over 80% of the BSV hashrate.[/b]

This was inevitable.

"it pays to be good" - in terms of 51% attack - only if you have something to lose. When you attack BSV its free money. To mine BTC you need same equipement. BTC hashrate is 200-500 times bigger than BSV. Means that 0.2% of bitcoin hashrate (one big farm) can jump to BSV for 3 hours double spend as much as they want and come back to mine BTC.

And looks like we see this now. It was crazy to think that BSV with 0.2% of bitcoin hashrate is secured enough to be considered safe.

that's where you are wrong. which is why the story is important. this rogue miner is going to get SQUASHED. deleted from the blockchain and gone. like you swat a fly off a horse's ass. Smiley

achived using centralized power? XD Great crypto. Real satosi vision Wink

Fun fact is that market did not react on this. There was no price dump. Really? in 2022 people does not even care if their blockchain works or not ?Smiley
1005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mnemonic is no longer safe? on: October 20, 2022, 07:18:10 AM
Its not that Mnemonic is no longer safe. Everything is as safe as the weakest link. If his device was compromised or someone had access to it without his knowledge than even 100% buletproof solution will not work. My guess is that mnemonic did not fail. your friend failed to protect it.

"76% of Adults are Making Lifestyle Changes to Prepare for a Potential Recession"

Meanwhile 42% of US citizens have less than 1000$ in their savings account. 58% have less than 5000$. -https://www.zippia.com/advice/american-savings-statistics/

They might be delaying big purchases and reducing debts but there are nowhere near being ready for potential recession.
1007  Local / Polski / Re: Pospekulujmy o aktualnej i przyszłej cenie BTC. on: October 19, 2022, 10:43:05 AM

Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell sees inflation battle lasting 'some time,' warns of economic pain. “These are the unfortunate costs of reducing inflation. But a failure to restore price stability would mean far greater pain,” Powell said.
https://www.nbcnews.com/business/economy/inflation-could-hurt-economy-for-a-long-time-jerome-powell-rcna45016

1009  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin Exchange With Unlimited SWIFT Withdrawal on: October 19, 2022, 07:55:46 AM
there is 2 mln $ daily withdrawal limit after standard KYC and 100 mln $ per transaction and unlimited per account per day on binance after compliting advanced KYC with "Source of Wealth Declaration". You wan't get any better than that if you are looking for reliable exchange - unilimited per day limited to 100 mln $ per transaction.
1010  Local / Polski / Re: Meme coiny do kupienia w 2022 roku on: October 17, 2022, 03:22:56 PM

Meme coiny to kryptowaluty inspirowane żartem/memem.

Stracony rok szczytu hossy i szczytu zainteresowania krypto.

A teraz mamy koncówkę 2022 i ktoś tworzy listę "najbardziej trendowych meme coinów do kupienia w 2022 roku"...

1011  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Idena is the first Proof-of-Person Blockchain on: October 17, 2022, 03:06:19 PM
I also did the same thing you did to your community, reducing the community to help prices go up, at least it will increase the price of IDEA in the future, if left alone then this will be a boomerang for everyone, the price of Idena in the future, at least reduce Validation users is the best way to do so that idena prices peak again, at least it can be applied to those who have a community as Idena users..

Idena did not reduce the community. It reduced amount of paid abusers that were never part of community. Some of them did not even know that they were solving flips for IDENA. That's why with one of updates flips were market with watermark - did not worked well though.

How could alienating people to the point of leaving the project work well for project? Its crazy idea. Idena did not done that. They changed tokenomics to incentivize solo mining at a cost of farming via paid abusers. Thats why number of nodes dropped. They attack farmers to leave more space for real community members and solo miners.
1012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum becoming censoring complaint? on: October 17, 2022, 02:11:30 PM
It still had a big advantaged over shit chains though, like BSC  Grin

what advantage ETH have over BSC? From user perspective everything new happens on BSC. There is 3x more traffic on BSC (1M TX vs 3M TX). Its better to use bsc for everyday crypto payments becasue of low fees and
certainty of low fees (ETH fees are sometimes low sometimes 100$ per tx). ETH was different than BSC before merge (more expensive but decentralized) so it hit different user base, different purpose, different target. You could have cold wallet on decentralized ETH for safety and hot wallet on BSC for convenience. Now its less decentralized and my bet is that with future updates ETH will move towards even bigger centralization becoming a thing that we were escaping from.

1013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What kind of benefits can Metaverse Gaming Project get in the future? on: October 16, 2022, 08:26:12 AM
It's hard to foresee what this whole meta-universe industry will turn into. So far, things in this sector are not going well and not as rosy as they seemed in 2021, when there was a meta-universe hype. I recently read the news that Meta is forcing their employees to spend time in their meta-universe. So there you have it, the real popularity of meta universes. Creating the appearance that someone is interested in it. I would say that at the moment, few people are interested in meta universes, and from a fundamental point of view, all the projects being launched are just hoping that in the future it will all pay off.

Because its a lot too soon for this technology to attract masses. In 2022 there is no way to reach immersion. Current vr sets are expensive, uncomfortable, and cause headache after longer gaming but in 2070+ ... its completly diffenrt story. I think that in 2070 average person will spend >50% of its life in metaverse. Neuralink is already testing chips that can stream music directly into brain. Next step is streaming video, than smells and fillings. With this technology you will have to decide if you want to go for a walk as a normal person in real life or as a superman in metaverse by advantage chips placed in your brain, feeling 100% immersion - feeling the wind in your hair, smells, flavors, etc.
That day metaverse will be the strongest drug. Not many will be able to resist it and live normal life.

1014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum becoming censoring complaint? on: October 16, 2022, 08:07:56 AM
Well we all knew that merge will destroy the main advantage ETH had over others smart contract platforms (like bsc, avax, ada, link and dozen more). ETH was slow and expensive but decentralized. Now its centralized, slow and expensive. Good luck fighting competitors now.

But I don't get this censorship. Is it possible to achieve it with >50% of network? There are many solo mining nodes with little above 32 eth. If they succeed to mine a block they will include any TX they want no matter if censored by majority or not. So even if 90% will censor transactions my tx will still be included as soon as one of remaining 10% of nodes will mine a block. Am I wrong here?
1015  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what is key differences between Bitcoin and tulip bubble on: October 16, 2022, 07:52:18 AM
Great thread. I have idea for your next one. We need comparison between tomatoes and bitcoin because it may be confusing for some people.

I think that this new thread should explain everyone that bitcoin is an innovative monetary system while tomato is only a red fruit. I'll think about other necessary comparisons like btc vs potato, or btc vs rain. People should know the difference.

ALTCOINS JUST BOTTOMED AND SHIB COIN TO THE MOON?Huh!!!!!!!!!!! + Crypto Market Analysis Today

Man. Shiba was a joke of 2020. Its 2022 you know? This joke is not funny anymore. Flying spaghetti monster was also a joke and some people did not get it and after more then a decade few tens of thousands of people are Pastafarians. Don't be one of them. Shib is not a good coin to invest. Its not even a good coin to speculate on because its too manipulated.

And its too soon to call "ALTCOINS JUST BOTTOMED"
1017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hideaways (HDWY) Giant Scam or True Potential? on: October 15, 2022, 07:08:59 AM
Did some searching and couldn't find anyone talking about the Hideaways Crypto. The website claims that it will be the first luxury property real estate platform, utilizing fractionally owned NFTs backed by physical real estate. It blasted through it's first 2 pre-sale stages and is currently on stage 3.

Open discussion!

Link: https://www.thehideaways.io/

There were dozens of projects like that. None of them delivered product because of legal problems. Its simply impossible in 2022 to do this in any jurisdiction. SEC is thinking for last 2 years what XRP is. Security or not. Which
government/legislator would allow "pre sale. Big bonus and big lucky draw." combined with real estate investments?

"Re: Hideaways (HDWY) Giant Scam or True Potential?"
None of them. It has 0 potential. No doubt about that. Giant scam was a LUNA ponzi. HDWY is a small scam made to steal 100$ from few newbies. Something close to pickpocketing.
1018  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Depth chart - what the hell are these percentages? on: October 15, 2022, 07:01:16 AM
As in the topic - what are these percentages circled on the attached picture here: https://ibb.co/PWBr81L

Percentage price change from current price to the price that your mouse cursor is on. Move it slowly to the right or left and you will see that it will slowly change to 0.1%, 0.2% and so on.

But depth chart is very manipulated by spoofing or waiting orders from arbitrage trading bots. Many orders disappear before filled. This chart does not give any useful information. Especially as zoomed in as the one shared with us by you.
1019  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Inflation and why bitcoin? on: October 15, 2022, 06:49:42 AM
Up untill 1637 tulip seeds were also a great inflation hedge?

Because all you (OP) mentioned in your post is a past performance and weakness of fiats. Tulip seeds also performed great for 3 years.

Indeed, if you look at money from ancient times up to now, it is indeed much different in its purchasing power

I did not know that 1971 was "ancient times", when president Richard Nixon ended U.S. dollar/gold peg.

______________________________

Bitcoin is better than gold. Its easier to store, easier to transfer, easier to use, easier to divide even to cents and has better stock/flow ratio which will not change after price pump (gold supply will pump after 10x price pump because it will be profitable to mine gold from sources that were unprofitable before) . That's why it may work as good inflation hedge but not for those who bought the top. And we don't know where real long term value is. It may be at 50k$ and we are way undervalued. It may be at 1k$ and we are way overvalued.
1020  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy back bonds and BTC price on: October 14, 2022, 05:59:51 PM
I also did not notice btc price change after that but the US market might be a bit more "influential" in terms of a potential boost. Idk

Yep. US is much more "influential".

"As of 2021, the size of the bond market (total debt outstanding) is estimated to be at $119 trillion worldwide and $46 trillion for the US market"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bond_market

Its close to 40% while UK is only around <$2T - 1.5%

So I can assume that US bond market is more than 25 times more "influential". Will it affect bitcoin price? I think that there are not many things stronger than 'we print again' announcment.
