1001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Okay. What is the main factor that boosts Altcoin value? Popularity or Tech? on: January 25, 2020, 03:32:04 PM
Technology is the main factor. Only technology determines the real value of altcoins.

Unknown technology is worthless.  Even though it is the most advance if no one noticed it nor knows it, there will be no one to buy it. I believe what we are talking about here is the value that is priced on the market  not the value that technology has.  Have you wonder why some brand of item is more valued even though it has a lower spec of technology compared to those higher technology?  Because of its popularity.
1002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gonna sell my stock assets and invest in these top currencies. Suggestions? on: January 25, 2020, 03:03:59 PM
I would suggest that only a half or 3 quarter of your stock asset to be sold to buy your crypto investment.  It is always good to diversify and stock market and crypto market is one good diversification.  At least when one venture fail, you have the other investment to recover your losses.  Bitcoin is one good investment and any of the top 10 altcoin except BSV and BCH.
1003  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Cash A Better Crypto To Invest? on: January 25, 2020, 01:37:07 PM
With its new rule of taxing miners, I will stay away from Bitcoin cash until that taxing is done.  With this new implementation, I can see supporters turning its back (especially miners) to this coin.  Yes price might plummet but do not be on rush to buy, wait for it to be at the bottom and see if there is a good indication that this coin will pump or rally before buying in.
1004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Stablecoins Promote the Mass Adoption of Cryptocurrencies? on: January 25, 2020, 11:33:05 AM
I think they can. Indeed, if stable coins gain popularity as a type of fiat currency asset only in digital format, this will in any case direct the attention of stable coins users to cryptocurrencies,
because buying them will become an extremely simple task for them. Add to this the crypto market growth spurt, and we get the second full-scale bull run.

That is an "if" situation.  People tends to know stablecoins after knowing about cryptocurrency.  Since people who are into cryptocurrency wanted a less volatile crypto asset then they convert their volatile crypto into a stablecoins.  Then after sometimes people will then convert the stablecoin back to that volatile crypto to get profit.  It is just a tool to preserve the value of cryptocurrency in fiat money, and normal people will just hold fiat money than stablecoin if that is their purpose.  So I still think stablecoin will not promote mass adoption of cryptocurrencies.

Quote
The unique design of PoH means that in order to reach a consensus (on whether or notthe transaction placed on the network is valid), the agents on the network don’t need to communicate agreement in order to successfully validate it.

This captures my interest.  Many will exploit this one.  This project had already failed before it even started.   Sounds like lots of scam and exploit will happen in this network.
1006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: This is why you shouldn't trust a Centralized Exchange! on: January 24, 2020, 12:58:49 PM
Exchanges being hacked had been a common scene in crypto industry.  And I agree never trust 100% any service that holds your fundings, withdraw your fund after you are done using their service.  Never stock or leave your coin unless you are trading.  Better safe than sorry.
1007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Binance price prediction for 2020 on: January 24, 2020, 12:45:07 PM
Those are just guesses and not a proven facts.  So reading those kind of stuffs does not mean that Binance will go that way besides it is too early to tell since it is just the 1st month of the year.  Maybe we can pause the discussion and talk about it on the first day of Dec.  That way prediction will have a better accuracy.
1008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Pyramid Schemes are still Amongst Us on: January 24, 2020, 12:08:04 PM
This is new year and i expect newbies to get smarter, be careful of new projects that are nothing but pyramid schemes, Multilevel marketing schemes or pyramid schemes may likewise be utilized to swindle crypto investors. Such new companies guarantee enormous degrees of profitability inside a brief period, and regularly convey different individuals to rope in new members. When the part list gets generous and the fraudsters get a sizeable store, they evaporate, leaving all investors seething. The most ideal approach to distinguish such schemes is to take a gander at the project's experience. Such projects will in general evade any perceived organizations or bureaus and have next to no undeniable foundation data, be very careful and limit your losses this new year, all the best.

I always avoid crypto investment that have referral system.  Though I do not hate this kind of strategy but because with this scheme there are lots of coins or tokens that will be released without supported funds and when it circulate in the market it will automatically devaluate the coins market.  Aside from that many scam company uses this kind of scheme to look for unsuspecting investors.  They blind their supporters by means of reward whenever they refer someone to invest in the project.
1009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Okay. What is the main factor that boosts Altcoin value? Popularity or Tech? on: January 24, 2020, 11:28:19 AM
Technology does not speak for itself unless it is promoted and advertised.  In short, it is the popularity and level of acceptance or adoption that boosts altcoin value.   No one cares about technology if it is unknown or unheard.
1010  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ethereum About to Break Out of a 2-Year Bear Market? on: January 23, 2020, 12:58:08 PM
Crypto markets are holding steady for another day following a slight pullback from their recent rally. Ethereum is still looking strong but can it finally pull out of its two-year bear market?

https://bitcoinist.com/is-ethereum-about-to-break-out-of-a-2-year-bear-market/

It will but not this time.  Bitcoin had not reached the peak of its rally so it is not yet time for the 2-year Bear market break for ETH.  Aside from that, many are disappointed on the POS updated of ETH especially the POW miners that hinders the possible break out of that bear market and this sentiment will take time.
1011  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it just me? on: January 23, 2020, 12:27:21 PM
I don't think scammers are tired but the problem is now people don't invest anymore in blind and this will help step by step to lower as many as possible the scammers, i agree that maybe there are some bounties who maybe will help new people to get some money and are different from last years.

Aside from that, there are many projects that is not announced in this forum.  They used Telegram for their platform and use other platform for their announcement such as Reddit, facebook etc.  If you check a site where ICO/IEO is listed, only a few have their bounty campaign announced here in the forum.
1012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BCH: Miners should donate...or else on: January 23, 2020, 12:13:40 PM
This is one bad move from the BCH developer.  This action will make miners to move away from this altcoin.  Owner of mining pool is not affected because they can charge it to the miners and if I am an owner of the equipment, I'll point it to other POW coins that does not rob me of 12.5% of the coins that I mined.   It is their loss not mine anyway.
1013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Stablecoins Promote the Mass Adoption of Cryptocurrencies? on: January 23, 2020, 11:42:33 AM

BitDane I don't use stable coins, from my reading I found out that stable coins have the lowest fees. Some
wallets have options for buying stable coin first, which is easier and that to swap it from the wallet. Now there
are many stable coins!

Isn't those who bought stablecoins already knows about cryptocurrency?  How can they buy it if they don't in the first place.  Especially using you mentioned that a "wallet" have an option for buying stable coin first.  Thus it is an indirect way of saying a person is already involved in a cryptocurrency community and is just finding a way to lessen fee by using stablecoins.
1014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it still possible to invent certain Altcoin that can be better than Bitcoin? on: January 23, 2020, 11:22:19 AM

As the subject goes, can we expect the newly developed Altcoin that can go beyond Bitcoin?

In terms of technology yes, there are lots of altcoin that already have an advantage towards Bitcoin.  The only challenge is whether they can surpass the Bitcoin community and adoption which I think is very hard.  Bitcoin is already established and well known around the world.
1015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay Away of this scam Coin on: January 22, 2020, 11:11:10 AM
Seeing a coin pumped is not an indication that it is a scam.  Op should have given a more strong evidence that the coin is really a scam.  If we look at the market history, almost all cryptocurrency were pumped hard Bitcoin included.  So it is (being pumped hard) not an indicator whether a cryptocurrency is a scam or not.  It may fall to a pump and dump shitcoin but we needed more evidence to say it is really a scam project.
1016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Pain of a bounty manager. on: January 22, 2020, 10:53:38 AM
It is hard to become a bounty manager since all of the blame is going to be your burden because you are the one talking to the bounty participants. But, as a bounty hunter, lets understand the situation of the bounty manager. They just relay the information to us and have nothing to do with the scam that will happen sooner or later.

What? I have seen and work with many campaigns managers and haven't seen the difficulties in being a bounty manager. Although, many incompetent managers may found things difficult as a result causing them pays; who cares. Any competent bounty manager will always find things easy to administer over a campaign.

Campaign managers should be held responsible for their inability to double check the campaign they chose to administer to know if they are legit or scams, not the responsibility of the hunters who are just here doing what can earn them few SATs.

I agree, they are the one who brought the project bounty here in the forum because they are paid to do so.  Even a volunteer person should beheld accountable to whatever damage done by his promotion.  Bounty hunters task is easy, anyone can do it as long as you have the tool.  Participants will join whatever these bounty manager posted here without any hard effort.  And the checking and verifying participants is one of the taks they are paid with so they should not whine about it.  Aside from that, it is a personal responsibility of a Bounty manager to verify if his project is a scam or not.
1017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Creating shit TOKEN make good profit ? on: January 22, 2020, 10:35:36 AM
Hi guys
do u think if i created a shit token (with no project) and add it to shit exchange can i get profit ?  Grin
i mean im preparing to create a token and add it to new exchanges with law fees
and i promote investors for ex to give them 50 per cent of any ammount they bought
from the token for ex if you bought 10000 coins i will give u 5000 coins for free
do u think this idea can make investors buy it ?

i find this repititive, i have seen such post this week on the forum.
The blockchain world is a decentralized world, where you can do everything you want as long as you can be responsible for every action

Tokens or coins are not created for fun, they are created to have value and add value to the society.
You need to discover why you are in crypto currency

But the thing is people/developer created cryptocurrency for money grab (well at least most of them).  Then scammers also exploit this to be their money milking machine since many projects ended as scam.  Though your perception towards cryptocurrency is correct, many people specially those who are greedy looks at cryptocurrency as the easiest way to make money.
1018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I buy Bitwings ICO token? on: January 22, 2020, 08:57:39 AM

Firstly, there is the safest phone created by this project and has the ability to mine up to 2 ETH per month(see SS). I can not understand this. Could a smartphone like this be created? Also, it is written that investors who invest $5,000 will earn a 40% bonus. Is not that a little much?

I do not believe in smartphones that will again with a fairly high mining ability, maybe it's just bullshit in my opinion.
Smartphones that are made for mining, especially in production through the sale of tokens, I think will not move forward like Bitwings which is not clear in my opinion.

Same here, it is impossible for a pc to mine 2 ETH in a month and it has more powerful specs than a mobile phone.  I think this news is just a hype.  And their 40% bonus for  a $5000 investment is unfair.  This is a simple tactic to grab money from unsuspecting investors.
1019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it just me? on: January 22, 2020, 08:35:14 AM
I think it is really hard for a start-up project to get fund.  Lots of investors had been burned during the crypto winter thus making them to avoid ICO, or IEO.  Scammers will not be hindered by this and they will take any opportunity to scam people aside from that the project if you look at the bounty board are just some copy paste projects.  Probably project that is so potential had find their own ways of advertising themselves than just setting up a bounty here.
1020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto market moves in like a mystery! on: January 21, 2020, 11:46:28 AM
Lately the market is showing some positive gains in BTC and most of top altcoins too, but how long it will sustain? and the most common question was is it an organic gains? or just an artificially driven? for me the market movements was remain a mystery maybe it was an organic gains or just artificially driven.

The crypto market movement is not a mystery it is called volatility.  The volatility of the market relies on different factors such as price manipulation, hype, FUD, Fomo, actual demand etc.  Since crypto is an speculative asset, it is normal that the market price will be highly volatile which was taken advantage by those who have enough fund to influence the market.  It is not the mystery that is moving around the crypto market but the manipulation and influence of some few individual who has huge amount of funds.
