1061  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Atomic Wallet hacker sends crypto to mixer used by Lazarus Group: Elliptic on: June 06, 2023, 08:03:32 AM
Elliptic is a blockchain compliance analytics firm that investigate about the $35 million that was known to have been stolen from Atomic wallet user. The money or probably some of the money was first convert to bitcoin and sent to Sinbad for mixing.

Good luck to the Atomic wallet team trying to recover the funds once they go through a mixer. Maybe they should look at the point of conversion of alts to Bitcoin that is, if they used any centralized exchange, but I doubt if those hackers were that dumb.

Seems to me that it's going to be a bad day for Sinbad.io and the people that's promoting them with campaign signatures.
Bad as in how?

I'm having mixed feelings with mixers now, I think that it's a freedom to be able to use it but then group's like the Lazarus group using it makes me want to change sides.
Then you should have mixed feelings about the dollar, the banks and all those Government back financial institutions because they have been used to launder money for decades by bad actors and in some cases the Governments just look the other side because it's "big" people within them that are involved

How are both situations any different?
1062  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why wrapped ETH ? on: June 05, 2023, 10:58:27 PM
The wrapping of coins are supposed to be about offering a "bridge" between blockhains.  Tongue
"Bridging" blockchains is just one of the use cases of Wrapping coins

But the main reason for wrapping ETH is because of the limitations Ether has vs the other ERC-20 tokens. For example swapping an Erc-20 token directly for ETH won'tbe possible on the current version of Uniswap
1063  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam circulation, newbies be at alert. on: June 05, 2023, 10:24:49 AM
This type of scam has been on going in the forum for 4 years or even more. There used to be a thread in this board where such scam sites were being tracked. In fact back then, it was so rampant in the forum. These days, they just pop up once in a while.

The posts seem to have been deleted by the moderators. I just wish they had just nuked the profile as the intentions are quite clear. I will leave a tag just in case the come back and post.
1064  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why wrapped ETH ? on: June 05, 2023, 09:45:58 AM
Trying to buy Aimedis tokens and realize you need to use WETH ( Wrapped ETH ) to buy them. Why is this ? Why not just ETH ?
To easily interact with certain smart contracts or Dapps, the token needs to be ERC-20 compliant. Aimedis is ERC20 complaint but Ether is not. This is where WETH comes in since it's also an ERC-20

Quote
And if I try to buy them with ETH... will I be unable to trade ?
Not just referring to AImedis but there are several other tokens that require WETH to buy them, not keen on using WETH
Yes you won't be able to trade directly with ETH depending on the kind of platform or Dapp. The other option is to just use a centralized exchange that has aimedis token listed.
1065  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] [banned mixer] - CoinJoin Crypto Mixer | Your Anonymity Is Our Priority! on: June 05, 2023, 09:29:08 AM
Btw, if anyone hasn't seen it yet. I've just seen that soon there will be a mixing service as well for some alts.
  • ETH
  • LTC
  • Tether
I have  some question in regards to mixing altcoins especially Tether.

You could say Ether and LTC are more like BTC when it comes to the inability of a third party or founder to freeze coins. But for Tether, coins can be frozen in user addresses.
What happens when a bad actors mix the USDT maybe that they stole from somewhere through the platform and then the "dirty" or "tainted" or whatever term the call them end up in an innocent users' address only for them to be frozen for criminal activity from the previous dirty actor?
1066  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: chipmixer.be scam on: June 05, 2023, 08:30:31 AM
What i mean is the announcement, most cases of mixers that was shutdown wasn't publicized (i guess) since i didnt find one. Well, it has a point, and if that's the case, i'll alter what i said.
Depends on how the mixer was shutdown.

Voluntary shutdown? - Some times they announce their shutdowns like coinmixer.se, Bitmixer.io, BitBlender.io

Exit scam? - They always go quietly, perfect example was Smartmixer.io

Shutdown by authorities? Obviously authorities have to announce about the Seizure and if by any chance they arrest the person behind the mixer, they will proudly announce about his arrest. I don't think they would go quiet on that one.
1067  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: is chipmixer .be legit or fake on: June 03, 2023, 11:03:58 PM
After the FBI seized Chipmixer there's so many clones and fake Chipmixer sites
There used to be a lot of clone and fake chipmixer sites even way before Chipmixer's domain seizure probably because of the Bitcoin mixture's popularity

On top of that, Chipmixer was only running through an onion link, which could only be accessed using the Tor browser. Thus, any kind of Chipmixer website on the Clearnet is almost definitely a scam or phishing attempt. Thus, it'd be best to stay away from any kind of website that resembles the real CM and stick to a few alternative mixers that you can find around the forum.
Initially Mixing on Chipmixer could be done both on clearnet and Tor version. However, when the clearnet started getting lots of DDoS attacks and down times, they decided to make it just for informational purposes

Most of the fake and clone mixers are based on the old format of chipmixer.
1068  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: cry-ex.com on: June 03, 2023, 10:43:15 PM
site is under construct. registration is work not finally launch.
What is the point of asking for members to comment on a site that is still under construction  Roll Eyes

You won't get as much input as that of a site that is at least functional. You would even get the benefit of some members doing the beta testing for you. Hell I just signed up on your site and even agreed to the terms and conditions that are not there and I have an account now.
1069  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Introducing Cilistia: A Non-custodial, Decentralized Peer-to-Peer Exchange. on: May 30, 2023, 09:19:49 PM
Escrow-based Trade Confirmation:

To instil trust and ensure fair transactions, Cilistia implements an escrow system. Trades are held in escrow until both parties involved have confirmed the completion of the trade. This safeguard prevents any potential disputes or fraudulent activities, allowing for secure and reliable transactions.
I am interested in the Escrow part. Which party exactly acts as an escrow and how will the disputes be settled?

Also what attributes make the platform decentralized? Not requiring any user personal information before they can use the marketplace is no attribute of decentralization.
1070  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wally Coin - Rare opportunity on: May 30, 2023, 08:48:43 PM
Sounds more like a rare opportunity to get scammed or rugged

New crypto that has huge potential!  Currently, $100 will make you a whale.
How do you know?

You can't be a whale with 200 Billion tokens worth $2 in total.

It's one of those where you'll say, if I had only.
or perhaps if I hadn't! my $100 would still be here with me.

Why did you not start a thread to discuss what you want already? Those that wish to participate in the discussion your thread will entail will do so without compulsion and those that wish to question your motives for doing it will do so and of course those that wish to not participate will also do so because this is a community forum and nobody can force another to do their bidding. Feel free to do it, this forum is fairly democratic in that sense.
Because they haven't scammed anyone. Besides,I have no negative opinion about mixers like you do. I would love them to thrive as much as they can.

Quote
And?
It's ironic and hypocritical.

Coinomize, Wasabi, YoMix, Whirlwind and others have not been named by any government as being suspected of money laundering but Chipmixer and Blender were named in US government officials legal documentation as money launderers therefore they are automatically part of a distinction from the rest. And since evidence has been presented to show Sinbad.io is operated by the same team that operated Blender.io, it stands to reason they are probably next.
Chipmixer was also never officially named as being a suspected tool for "money laundering" by the US Government until we just woke up one day and it's domain was seized. In fact what we used to see before the seizure were such articles
So please, don't convince us that there is a difference with these services when it comes to law enforcement.
1073  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the most significant trading sacrifice you believe you have made? on: May 30, 2023, 07:23:12 PM
No all such "sacrifices" pay off though especially that part of selling off property or trucks in order to trade.

I do have a friend who sold off his good business to get into crypto trading just because he was convinced by a friend that he can make a shit ton of money. Unfortunately he went all in on Terra Luna shortly before the crash and kept the coins in an external wallet. I think you guess is as good as mine on what happened next. Stressed and depressed, his life has never been the same again.

1074  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Is Happyminer real? on: May 30, 2023, 03:53:30 PM
Just to top on my and other members' earlier findings, A new discovery shows that Happyminer.us were initially claiming to sell mining hardware according to the web archives - https://web.archive.org/web/20180902214512/https://happyminer.us/

So what happened to their Hardware mining equipment shops? Why did they decide to now turn ponzi style?

Even the address changed  Grin

back then:
7580 Fay Av. Suite 204/1 San Diego, CA 92037 USA

Today
300 W SHERIDAN AVE, OKLAHOMA CITY, OK 73102 USA
1075  Other / Archival / Re: Sinbad.io Mixer - secure, fast and easy to use on: May 30, 2023, 03:37:35 PM
Is it true Sinbad is operated by the same person that created Blender? Crypto tracing company "Elliptic" have stated with conviction that the evidence is very strong.

After Chipmixer, Is Sinbad.io Next To Be Shutdown?
Should we also discuss about the sanctioning of tornado.cash, the timely emergence of whirlwind.money and how the whirlwind.money website design closely resembles got inspiration Tornado.cash's or that's a topic for another day?

In fact I was surprised to see you wearing a signature of yet another mixing service especially after the opinions you had about mixers following the seizure of Chipmixer.
Whether the mixer is going to be the next to shutdown or not. To you, what makes Whirlwind.money different from Chipmixer, Sinabad or any other mixer in the eyes of law enforcement?
1076  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MINING WITH SOLAR POWER | WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN MY CASE? on: May 29, 2023, 11:56:49 PM
500 watts for 1 hour is 500 Watt hours. Watt is power = energy / time.
Yeah, Watt hours. That's what I mixed up. My bad.

Maybe OP should specify what the actual capacity of his batteries is in watt-hours. The storage capacity will be the limiting factor since he is looking at the gear well within the 500 watt limit.
1077  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MINING WITH SOLAR POWER | WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN MY CASE? on: May 29, 2023, 02:55:15 PM
no you got it wrong..lets not make it complicated . for simplicity lets say i have free 500w for 24/7 365
would it mine with it or take the profit by selling it back ?
I haven't complicated anything. if a machine is rated 500 watts. That means, if it runs for an hour, it will consume 500 watts. So that will be it for you for a day. 1 hour of mining with all other factors constant.

I hope you have understood me. Though not so much, but I have some experience with solar power usage.
1078  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MINING WITH SOLAR POWER | WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN MY CASE? on: May 29, 2023, 02:42:45 PM
i dont have any equipment but a rig with 2 powerful GPUS consume about 500w
That would mean your solar batteries would sustain the GPUs for not more than an hour before they run out of juice if running in times when there is no sun like at night. Also during the day there will be fluctuations of light intensity from the sun due to weather changes so, you won't be able to run the equipment on that solar power constantly.

You would need a solar power system with capacity way more than 500w for it to handle the two running GPUs day and night.

Do you think it's worth it? Personally, I don't think so. IMO solar system is just good for backup.

>>snip<<

As a person who left you a temporary feedback till you responded, it's my obligation to keep track of this case. What I have observed is that the accuser just decided to lock up the scam accusation thread he had opened up. Furthermore, he has deleted most of the posts he has made in this thread instead of responding to the new developments which means there are some things he could have falsely stated

For that matter, I am removing my negative feedback. I can't help someone who can't even bring up genuine claim.
1080  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MINING WITH SOLAR POWER | WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN MY CASE? on: May 29, 2023, 01:35:22 PM
500watts (0.5Kw) isn't that much mate.

Remember mining gear has to always run day and night if you are to go anywhere close to the daily profit target. I don't know what kind of mining equipment you have but you can't even run some GPUs on power of 500 watts
