You mean about the fact that 3 days prior to their shipping deadline they had no clue if they could ship or not? ...
We're working through the weekend to meet the October shipping deadline.
The reasons for the last minute shipping are numerous and has also very much to do with unauthorized strikes in Israel sea ports, see for example here.
It happens also in previous months, we had to ask the carrier to change route, deliver to cypress and fly the parts into Israel.
We're going through hoops to make sure the entire material needed for production arrives on time. It's an enormous, challenging task.
Right now we're producing the SP20 and we'll ship them after the proper burn-in tests in Flextronics. It might be slipped to the beginning of next week. If this will be the case, we'll compensate.

I'm glad to announce that the entire October batch of SP31 has been shipped out.

It will take us another day to send you all the tracking numbers and AWB, however we wanted to assure you that all the units are on their way.

We are still working hard to ship out all the SP20s by tomorrow and will continue to update you.

Your patience is much appreciated,

Gadi

Not the answer I was looking for unfortunately, but thanks for your reply.

I will add that our estimations on RB and systems preformance were honest. It wasn't a deliberate tactic. I did learn a lesson here.

We also found the root cause, which we'll make sure not to repeat on future gens. I'm sorry that I'm vague here.

We'll start another round of refunds (and complete the first one, we have problems with small number of international wires) soon.

The hash rate of the SP31 will be 4.9TH/s +- 5%.

Our commitment to our customers is as it has always been: to preserve the USD per GH/s ratio that was promised to them. We will compensate all customers for the difference in hash rate based on preserving the USD per GH/s ratio of the original deal.

This is unfortunate (5.5Ths advertised rate) ... yet again I have per-ordered a machine that will under-perform from the advertised rate.

Granted, Sponds you will be fair and offer compensation for the Ghs shortfall (not that any details about this were issued?), but we really are seeing history being repeated again, and again.

Guy, I wonder why you base your business model on raising hype, and then under performing and having to compensate ... Your silence until today about specs had already alerted me.

I've waited for the SP35 results, as explained.

We'll improve RockerBox a bit in future batches, but it won't be able to achieve 200 GHs in the SP35 form factor, due to various limiting factors.
In the SP20 form factor, each RB gives above 200 GHs

It's been and still very intensive month.

Sounds good.  I got this in email form.   Did not get an email stating that my product is shipping.  Is this the email indicating so?

Thanks...

Shipping documents and tracking numbers will be sent individually over the next 48 hours.

Dear Customers,

We are extremely happy to be shipping the first batch of the SP31.

To build the SP31, we were able to improve the performance of our 2nd generation ASIC (“RockerBox”). We’ll continue to push the envelope and improve the ASIC further in next batches.

Testing of the new units resulted in the following modifications to the original specifications:

•   The SP20 will reach the expected 1.7TH/s +- 5%. Current power draw measurements show usage of 1.2kW with 90% efficiency PSU
•    The hash rate of the SP31 will be 4.9TH/s +- 5%. Power consumption will remain the same 3kW at the wall as in the previous SP30.
•   The current results are expected to affect the specifications of the SP35 as well with units currently under test showing 5.5TH/s +- 5% using 3.65kW at the wall.

Ever since the launch of our first product in March we have been pushing the boundaries of power efficiency and quality of design, to make sure our customers have access to the best technology available. We are proud to have continued to do so with the SP31 and SP35.

Our commitment to our customers is as it has always been: to preserve the USD per GH/s ratio that was promised to them. We will compensate all customers for the difference in hash rate based on preserving the USD per GH/s ratio of the original deal.

As with previous batches, delivery dates will not be affected by these changes

We remain at your disposal for any concerns or questions and we look forward to continue serving you in the future.

Best Regards,

Guy

The only draw back with SPTech is the lack of definite shipping dates and this still has  not changed since my order. That is the only thing I would fault them with at this time.
Unlike other companies which build, mine, sell and ship (from the mine) we only build and ship.
It's very hard to guarantee definite times when you first need to build. The miners has many parts beside ASICs, which all of them need to arrive on time.
We're going through hoops to be able to ship within a month period. Until now it always succeeded.

Guy

Yes I appreciate that Guy I was happy with delivery it was on time as promised although I still wanted a more definitive timeline for the shipment. My refund came on time. My units worked exceptionally well and when I sold them as I said before they held their value extremely well. More than I thought they would and they sold immediately.

All consumers really want some more specific dates or times or minimally a 2 or 3 shipping window in advance. Just the nature of the consumer wants and needs it is clear that you guys do the best you can but that won't stop people from wanting a better estimate on shipping.
Completely understood.

THERE ARE NOW 3 DAYS LEFT IN OCTOBER AND AS USUAL, NO CONSISTENT UPDATES FROM SPONDOOLIES.

AGAIN I ASK, HOW HARD IS IT TO SIGN ON TO BITCOINTALK AND TYPE A 50 WORD POST GIVING THE PEOPLE WHO ARE PAYING YOUR BILLS AND SUPPORTING YOUR FAMILIES AN UPDATE?

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY WE HAVE TO BEG AND PLEAD FOR A SIMPLE UPDATE AND SOME INFORMATION, THIS IS NOT HOW GOOD BUSINESS RUN.

IT'S ALSO REALLY SHITTY SPONDOOLIES MINES WITH OUR EQUIPMENT UP UNTIL THE VERY LAST DAY (WE'LL SEE IF THEY ACTUALLY DO SHIP).  I HIGHLY DOUBT THEY'VE RECEIVED THEM FROM THE MANUFACTURER THIS WEEK AND TURN THEM AROUND, I'D BET THE'VE BEEN THERE AT LEAST A MONTH...

Sorry for the slow responses Koontas.

We are as always shipping brand new units within the promised time frame

How do you NOT know if the SP20's will ship within 3 days?  You either do or you don't at this point.

The October SP20 batch is a very small one and is currently in assembly. The units are expected to be shipped in time, however if for some force majeure they are not, we will stand by our promise and compensate for the late delivery
1151  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: October 28, 2014, 05:58:03 PM
Hi All,

Final and exact numbers for the SP31, SP35 and SP20 will be released tomorrow.
Shipping of the SP31 will begin tomorrow morning as well. As this is much smaller batch than previous ones there will not be any issues shipping the entire batch within the promised time frame.

The SP20s are also expected to be shipped in time. Should there be any issues with shipping in time we will compensate.

We appreciate your patience and apologize for the slow responses,

Gadi

Time to dust them off and box them back up!

What a bunch of bullshit.  We all know "compensation" never arrives.  Look at the complaints above.

Just ship the shit out already and quit playing us for fools.

We have a handful of wires that the bank was not able to process and have contacted these customers directly for the required details. If you have not gotten your compensation please send a PM with the email you have used to register to our site or your order number.

- Most of the refunds were done
- SP20 and SP31 will be shipped next week
- Spec update early next week, I'm waiting for SP35 build and test.

We were busy investigating and tuning the firmware to handle various issues found in the field.
We've shipped huge amount of machines and it's expected to encounter some issues. Most of them were solved.

I keep receiving e-mails from someone called Ori from S-T about the refund, asking me for my bank and address details.

I replied to these e-mails but my replies were ignored like they have not been read and I was responded with the same reply, keeping asking me about my bank details. Are these e-mails legit? What's this all about?

We apologize for the confusion, please disregard the emails.

Our core team, not including contractors, is much more than 12 people.
I'm waiting for the first SP35 assembly this week (and firmware adjustments) to give full spec update.
Refund process will start this week also and expected to be over in October timeframe.

Patient please. We just had 2 days of intensive "Inside Bitcoin" in Israel and I have a lot of catchup to do.

Can you tell me why this is self moderated?
The only posts I removed (total of about 3 posts) are completely off topic posts, usually political in nature. This is done only after fair warning.
I do report to moderators some other extremely trolling posts, but I don't remove them. The moderators may, but usually don't.
