1321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hashrate RX 470 on: August 04, 2016, 02:05:18 PM
I've read the MSRP for the RX 470 is going to be below $200, one source said perhaps as low as $150-160, but with the high demand resellers most likely will jack up prices.

1325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: NO exchange stopped trading ETH, although there is the replay attack on: July 29, 2016, 01:09:48 PM
Coinbase got drained, but are they the only bad coders out there?
I mean, how many exchanges did probably get drained from the replay attacks?
My guess: many and a new dark age might be dawning for crypto

Coinbase got drained? Is this true? How much are their losses and please post the link of the news please. I would like to read more about it.

I was just on my coin base account and it let me buy ETH if I want to Smiley. so no idea what he means .
1326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Sha256 pools that pay in eth ? on: July 29, 2016, 01:00:31 PM
are there any Sha256 alt coin pools they let us set the pay out as eth ? That would give me a reason to use  my old sha256 miners for a while longer or put it to use for a little longer .

remember I said lets me set my payout to eth not can I mine eth with a bitcoin miner .I know you can not mine ETH with a sha256 miner but is what I'm asking possible ? .or are  there any pools that do it yet ? .

it is possible with a scrpt miner pool i use Smiley.
1327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining ETH or ETC on: July 28, 2016, 09:55:05 PM
I'm  mining here

 https://etcpool.io/#/

and here

https://coinotron.com/app?action=home

for ETC

they both seem pretty stable.!!!

1328  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Look what a little birdie brought me ;) on: July 28, 2016, 09:41:06 PM
he still under NDA I'm sure why we haven't heard anything or BW thinks it's not worth to them to do what he wants to do and he may not want to give us the bad news .!!!! I'm not counting  on it anymore from any of the chip makers i going nothing but GPU miners  there cheaper much easier to set up or scrpt miners and I'm  making a few bucks  or all most as much i was when the S5 came out but will keep hoping they sell home miners again one day that are new and not old stuff when the new stuff comes out.

1330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alchemist updated support added for RPI with a broke controler on: July 26, 2016, 06:59:28 AM
tip: I discovered something new to nite that didn't start till now if the power cables start getting warm or hot to the touch plug the cables directly into the boards don't use the patch cables in between, mine were starting to heat up due to the weather changes i think because all winter long there was never a hot or warm cable and i used the in the between cable or patch cable now I'm plugged into the boards from the PSU and the cables seem to stay cool or normal. + i have one of these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000065DK8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 blowing on it so i could remove all the load fans and put in quieter ones .
1331  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 5.4.2: GBT+Stratum, RPC, Mac/Linux/Win64, Antminer S1-S5, solo stratum on: July 26, 2016, 06:31:20 AM
You could try increasing the queue size with the -Q option.

Have tried all different -Q settngs from 0 to 99, same results.  Is libmicrohttpd dependency required for proper getwork operation?  I just noticed when building on the S5 it says it cannot find it, even though its installed.  I know it has something to do with getwork, just not sure if it mattered.  That is the only difference between the S5 and RasPi builds that I can think of.  RasPi BFGMiner was compiled with all the dependencies.

you can compile it with all  dependencies on the s5 controller what ever they are which i have no idea the exact lines or code.

other then try it should download them all and it should fit .

Code:
apt-get -y install git-core build-essential autoconf automake libtool pkg-config libcurl4-gnutls-dev libjansson-dev uthash-dev libncursesw5-dev libudev-dev libusb-1.0-0-dev libevent-dev libmicrohttpd-dev libncurses5-dev libblkmaker-0.1-dev

this
Code:
apt-get -y install libgcrypt20-dev
might be needed for this
Code:
libmicrohttpd
to work

during the compile/install did it saying something about cli missing you may not have something or be able to use something .

1332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH ASIC Legit? on: July 25, 2016, 11:40:32 PM
I'll not comment if it's legit or not - just think about that "4x6PIN PCIe power connector.", image how 1800W can be delivered through those connectors. I can tell you how - with flames Cheesy Forget that scam and don't even bother....again, asic which will work till end of the year, wow priceless !

i was thinking that to those wires are gonna get hot not warm but hot and probable burn into the pci plug on the boards unless they figured out a way to run that much over four wires and keep the heat down @ 450 watts per wire yea fun time watching that 4k burn up.
1333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alchemist updated support added for RPI with a broke controler on: July 25, 2016, 05:50:48 PM
 i had to use these

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CP2102-USB-2-0-to-TTL-UART-Module-6Pin-Serial-Converter-STC-Replace-FT232-Module/381374541932?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D37798%26meid%3Dd3725e6e62ee4952b95cb7f2024ae891%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D141976891775

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009T2ZR6W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

those are the exact ones i use i ordered one or 2 off  amazon to get started then 10 or so off ebay cheaper for the same thing just longer to get .

I couldn't get it working with the dongles that have RTS the ones with DTR work great for me and still are, i tried a few with RTS.

and these plugs fit the hash broad end

http://www.ebay.com/itm/322106053473?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

you have to make sure the hub can run all 8 eight boards or how ever many boards you plan to run off one hub, i found out if the hub can't supply the right power for how ever many boards the miner shuts off with a strange high number of hard ware errors and some thing about a floating point limit was reached , so i bought a GOOD usb 3 hub, that fixed it.

the only pins you end up using are rx tx dtr and gnd the rest don't seem to  matter . and you can use any PI type it's not limited to rasp berry pi's .
1334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 700 MH , Solo or use a Pool (Ethereum) on: July 25, 2016, 04:01:40 PM
hm, maybe i should solo my ping is 18 ms avg but my hash is only 60 mh waiting for some place to sell rx 480 again id rather buy them from new egg places like that but those places are out of stock I got the cash so i wait.

i would solo with 700 mh and pool as well mostly solo till it becomes to hard .

tracert is first hop

1    <1 ms    <1 ms    <1 ms  Wireless_Broadband_Router.home [192.168.1.1]

Thats your own router. You need to look at first hop that is not on your/ your operators network.

You can try solomining with lower difficulty dagger-hashimoto coins. That gives you an idea about solo, if it still feels like your thing you can move on to bigger/ more profitable projects.

final hop is

 15    19 ms    19 ms    19 ms  ethpool.org [158.69.25.85]

no it's not my thing i don't have the Patience for it , but if i had a closer hash rate of 1 gh i would give it a try .. i have tried solo with btc and ltc and other coins and stand at awe at Smiley  those that do and do give it some thought from time to time .

1336  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Avalon6 - Creating new SD card from image on: July 25, 2016, 03:49:15 AM
https://canaan.io/en/support/

try the newest one if you haven't,

make sure it's the right img for the right Pi

for the rasp berry pi 2

https://canaan.io/downloads/software/avalon6/openwrt/latest/brcm2708/bcm2709/openwrt-brcm2708-bcm2709-sdcard-vfat-ext4.img

for the rasp berrry pi b+

https://canaan.io/downloads/software/avalon6/openwrt/latest/brcm2708/bcm2708/openwrt-brcm2708-bcm2708-sdcard-vfat-ext4.img

what sd cards test them with http://mympx.org/Downloads/p13_sectionid/2/p13_fileid/13 to make sure there not bad fully format them with https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/eula_windows/ then use https://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/

try another PI to make sure it's not the rasp berry PI going .

there is another way to test both the miner and rasp berry pi but you have to install https://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspbian_latest then compile cgminer
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Avalon6

try it at a ssh screen if it all works there not burning right to the SD try a new card reader.

    Download & Compile

Code:
 cd /home/
sudo apt-get -y install git-core build-essential autoconf automake libtool pkg-config libcurl4-gnutls-dev libjansson-dev uthash-dev libncursesw5-dev libudev-dev libusb-1.0-0-dev libevent-dev libmicrohttpd-dev libncurses5-dev

Code:
git clone https://github.com/Canaan-Creative/cgminer
    cd cgminer
    git checkout origin/avalon4 -b avalon4
    ./autogen.sh --enable-avalon4
    make -j 4
   Run

Run with a SSH screen in the folder cgminer is in

Code:
 sudo ./cgminer --avalon4-freq 200 --avalon4-voltage 7125 -o http://stratum.pool:3333 -u work -p pass
   or

Code:
 sudo ./cgminer --avalon4-freq 200 --avalon4-voltage 7125 -o http://stratum.pool:3333 -u work -p pass --api-allow W
        192.168.2,W:192.168.2.1 --api-listen $@ 2>./log

it is heating up is the pSU working right !!! .

1337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: A4 Dominator, the 14nm LTC ASIC/Miners, sample tested and open for pre-order on: July 22, 2016, 03:03:23 AM
That would be really bad if they went under, .Innosilicon was very solid up till now if that's the case if no A4 comes i can only think how much more the script miners we have now will increases in price including the old Zeus Miners of which the older ones have some but with no one making any but good kind of i guess you won't have to worry to much about upgrading and can keep using those A2 and titans and Alchemist and still make a lot .

I guess there is no money in it hardware wise like there is with sha256 miners no one makes one if they do they have turned out so far to be one big scam  or go bankrupt  and if Innosilicon dies same thing, mining seems good . just getting new hardware not used for script mining is hard if not impossible.

I think BW makes a scrpt chip but they won't share it Sad.
1338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Earn bitcoin without investment, use your computer on: July 22, 2016, 02:35:53 AM
You should mention that there won't be any profit at all if people mine with computer system, because of the bad hash rate. In most cases, the electric bill would be of more cost than the total bitcoin value mined.

True and with no investment yea right you need up to date video cards and not just one if you want to make anything worth while . maybe some the of newer CPU might get away with it but you will need a boat load of those as well more CPU's  then GPU that might cost tons more then the GPU.

I was one of them as well who thought nice idea but make money mining back then , was i wrong i had the PC's then could have made millions but my misjudgement was my end .

1340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mining eth with ubuntu on: July 20, 2016, 11:25:21 PM
I think if we use ubuntu it's not effective, because for maintenance is very high

No clue what you're talking about - Ubuntu, like most LINUX distributions, is free and the updates are also free.

There is no "maintainance" that is very high on it.

Because monitoring 100 rigs on Ubuntu with no monitoring solution is very high maintenance.

use a windows PC/laptop with the right monitoring  software then run the rigs with ubuntu it's actually is better easy to work with etc and the drivers for Ubuntu 15 and lower add monitoring any way .
