1341  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can Bitcoin reduce corruption in governance? on: April 30, 2023, 08:06:50 PM
Bitcoin is already reducing corruption all over the world , providing them with a secure anonymus way of transfering massive chunks of wealth at any time or place. Wink
I'm afraid that as much as you think politicians use Bitcoin to perpetrate their fraud, they do not. Bitcoin uses a public ledger that can be seen by everyone and possibly traced, and they (politicians) also steal quite a lot of money, running into millions/billions which would definitely be difficult for them to convert when they need to (if it's held in Bitcoins). Thus they stick to their old ways of money laundering, which is to use fiat/cash, they can always hide as much cash in their well secured homes, or pull some strings with their local banks or even international banks, who'll be more than ready to accept the money without asking questions, afterall they need it to also fund their own personal trade.
1342  Other / Meta / Re: Proposal for AI Integration with BitcoinTalk forum on: April 30, 2023, 07:43:13 PM
Generating insights and reports for traders, investors, and other cryptocurrency enthusiasts
Bitcointalk is a forum for discussing about Bitcoin and other whatnots, it is neither a trading or a speculating platform, but if a users need such information they should visit the trading discussion and speculation section.
Providing personalized recommendations and content to users based on their activity and interests
Users know what their interests are already, they should visit the sections that interests them, they don't need any AI for that reason.
Detecting and filtering out spam and fraudulent activity on the forum
Whilst i don't know how the AI is going to do this, it is still a no. Come to think of it, all of the AI generated posts users have been posting on the forum are all spam, thus i think the forum would go downhill if AI helps us in detecting spam. Grin
1343  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What would the Bitcointalk Forum be like without Signature Campaigns? on: April 30, 2023, 07:16:42 PM
In my opinion, it would be better without the signature campaigns, for sure it would be a normal forum without any money involved so most of the users would just post for knowledge, experience, questions, tips, etc.
I beg to differ, i don't think the forum would be better without signature campaigns, let us be honest, the forum activity is going to drop quite significantly if that happens, thus who is going to share knowledge on the forum or answer important questions of newbies about Bitcoin. Signature campaigns and the merit system are two things that have helped this forum greatly to maintain its high standards, to join signature campaigns you must earn merits, and to earn merits you must make HQ posts. Mind you that there are spammers on every platform, and even if there's no signature campaigns here there'd still be spammers, thus if you think spam posts are a problem in the forum, use the "report to moderator" button more frequently.
1344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: April 30, 2023, 04:12:57 PM
Real Madrid should control the games against Manchester City and as possible have dominance in midfielder area,
Well, i don't think Real Madrid are going to control the game against Manchester City, in last season's SF when the both sides squared off, City controlled the game for the both legs, and still did not win. I don't think any football side can control the game against Manchester City, you just have to come up with a different game plan, and last season Real Madrid chose to hit City on the counter attack, which they were successful at.

Having said that, i don't expect Real Madrid to seek complete dominance against City, they will be patient and wait for their time on the counter attack, but i think it is City that would progress to the final this time around, they definitely must have learnt their lessons from last season and i am pretty sure they'd not allow it to repeat again this time around.
1345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: April 28, 2023, 05:26:40 PM
Both Inter Milan and AC Milan seem equally likely to win. The performances of these two teams have been erratic in Serie A this season as well. So there is no way to say for sure which team will qualify for the finals.
I second this, the game is fairly even at 50-50 and i absolutely don't think there is any favorite in this game. AC Milan and Inter Milan are quite erratic and unpredictable this season, they could lose when you expect them to win easily, and win when you think they are definitely going to lose, it has been an up and down season for the both clubs, and they are really fortunate and lucky to be in the SF of the CL. This match is going to be decided by fine margins, i prolly even think it will go into extra time, that's how close i think it'd be, but if i must pick a side, i'd say AC Milan would progress to the final, just because i think they have a game changer in Rafel Leao and a great goalscorer in Olivier Giroud, they would both help AC Milan to just edge Inter Milan.

Lampard was a perfect player but he was never a good coach and I'm sure at the end of this season Chelsea will hire another coach for next season.
Well, from the beginning Lampard's contract was due to end at the end of this season, that was why he wasn't signed as their full time manager, but as an interim/caretaker manager, but i'm pretty sure that deep down in Lampard's mind he was hoping to perform excellently so the club would have a hard decision to make of either letting him go at the end of the season for a new manager, or to make his caretaker role a permanent one, but 5 losses out of 5 is anything but impressive and he is definitely leaving, he would even be lucky if he finishes the season as interim coach without being fired.

Having said that, Mauricio Pochettino is the man Chelsea have their eyes on and multiple reliable sources put it down that the deal is almost done, i love Pochettino's style of play, and i'd be eager to see how well he does at Stamford Bridge, as for Lampard, i think after this spell he should retire from coaching and find something else to do, it is basically obvious that he cannot be a successful manager.
1347  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [Opinion] Why translated topics are still on a single thread? on: April 28, 2023, 03:48:12 PM
Whilst i agree with wetin Charles-Tim been dey suggest, but on another note, do we even need to be translating topics from English language to pidgin, the truth be say everyone of us sabi read and write in English, some dey better than others, but the fact be say everybody for here understand English pass pidgin, especially when it is written and not spoken, maybe in speaking some people go understand pidgin better, but i dey see as many people dey write their pidgin for this local board and e dey very incomprehensible, but when i see dem write English on the English boards, i dey understand their points perfectly.

Having said that, me i no even sure say we need this translation topics at all, it is just topics wey dey fish for merits (na wetin me i think be that), i don see say Brainboss don lock the single translation thread, but omoh me i suggest say if e go bring spam na to stop translation topics outrightly for the board, if to say na local board wey get distinct language, then translated topics go make sense, but as ours dey wey na English/pidgin and most of us get strong command of English pass pidgin (especially when written), i no sure say e dey needed for here abeg, because we go fit understand the thread that was translated perfectly.
1348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is anyone planning to take part in the Open Campus (EDU) Binance Launchpad? on: April 27, 2023, 09:05:07 PM
I also took out some capital to mortgage and borrow BNB to participate in IEO, indeed to me, binance's IEO is something very attractive, they always ensure good profits for new projects.
If i understood you correctly, you borrowed BNB to participate in this IEO, mind you that IEO just like ICO's were are very risky endeavors, and even if some of them in the past might have pumped, you can't be certain that this present one will, thus even if you want to partake by buying this token before it starts trading, you should do so with your money and not borrowed funds.
but I want to ask is IEO really profitable? Isn't it better to wait for the opening of trading to at least know the real price?
Well i think it depends on the exchange launching the IEO and quite a lot of other things; IEO can be profitable for the people who bought the token before it starts trading if the token pumps immediately it is launched and available on the market, but most times if that pump happens it is only temporary and the token might dump after sometime. IEO's can be profitable if one is lucky, but there is always a high risk with new tokens and altcoins in general.
1349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 27, 2023, 06:01:55 PM
If Chelsea ultimately fail to sign Pochettino then I think this team is really in danger of dropping to the bottom of the rankings before the end of the season. I obviously don't know what happened to Chelsea, it doesn't look like the fault of the coach at all, but the players on the pitch seem to be responsible too.
Well even if Chelsea strikes a deal with Pochettino now, i don't think he will start the job until the end of the season, that is when he would take over and take the team through the pre season all the way down to the new season. But this is football and anything can happen, Lampard might be sacked very soon and replaced with Pochettino, though that would be pretty comical for Chelsea and would just further prove how clueless Todd Boehly is, firing and hiring managers without even understanding what's best for the club. Lampard really shouldn't be a football manager, i think after this failure in his second spell at Chelsea, he should let that dream go, he was a great player, but he is anything but a good manager.
1350  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: save seed phrase in song. on: April 27, 2023, 04:52:27 PM
practically its also not going to be easy task to teach a poem which contains recovery seeds of your wallets but let's give it a try with an empty wallet and see it really works.
You shouldn't even be heard reading out your seed phrase, not to talk of reciting it to a bunch of kids that aren't even yours to begin with, neither are you in control of their daily activities or movement, there is absolutely nothing to try here, and only if one cares less about their Bitcoins would they do something like this.

Having said that, i have seen quite a lot of weird suggestions lately from people on how to store seed phrases, and i can't help but ask myself why, why would you want to experiment with your funds, if it were paper money, you'd just go down the conventional road and deposit it in your bank and that's that, thus why can't people just do the simple, but yet most secure thing when storing their Bitcoins: write it down on paper! Experimenting with your Bitcoin won't be funny nor exciting when you lose it.
1351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 26, 2023, 11:33:32 PM
Lampard doesn't need anything because the reason why Chelsea brought him here was to have a manager temporarily until making their decision on a permanent one. Therefore Lampard was never going to be their permanent manager. Pochettino and Nagelsmann have been the most rumoured names to sign for Chelsea. First they said that Nagelsmann was close to signing a contract with them but now things seem to have changed.
Well i know Lampard was basically not hired to win any trophy, but Todd Boehly also didn't sign up for these shambolic performances every week when he hired Lampard to be caretaker boss, since his return to Chelsea he has lost all five games as manager, thus i am pretty sure the Chelsea hierarchy would be confused either to sack him or allow him see out the season, but what if they do that, and with Lampard's horrific form Chelsea finishes in the bottom half of the table, closer to the relegation zone that the top four.

Having said that, both Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique have both pulled out of the race to be Chelsea manager, thus it is just Pochetinno right now, and info from reliable sources is that the deal is very close, so Pochettino might be Chelsea's manager very soon.
1352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 26, 2023, 10:52:14 PM
Arsenal fans around the world will be completely distraught after this game, not just because they lost 4-1, but the manner in which they lost the game, there was no hunger, passion or fight from the Arsenal players, they weren't playing like they are in a title race, it was so disappointing to say the least, even if you will lose games like this, do so with a fight.

Having said that, Arsenals last four games have gone this way: DDDL, they have taken just 3 points out of a possible 12, that's pretty bad, and when you are in a title run-in with a team like City you can't afford to drop these much points, the momentum is now with City and i predict that they'll cruise to the title from here.

Like I said before Haaland is the biggest change in the club for this season and his impact on the club is so big that he is going to be remembered as a very special player in the club history.
Well, i think i have said this before but i'd reiterate. Whilst i think that Erling Haaland is a very important player for Manchester City, just look at his numbers in his debut season and you'd easily see how good he is. But i don't think if City wins the CL it would be because of him, mind you that City have always been a team that scores quite a lot of goals, even before Erling joined the club, but their problem in the CL is that they concede too many unnecessary goals (Pep even said the same thing some weeks ago), take for example against Real Madrid in last season's SF, but what changed this season is that City are now a more matured team, especially in defense, and they know when to go all out for attack, and when to sit back and defend, and we saw that side of them against Bayern Munich in the QF second leg, this i think is what would lead City to their first ever CL trophy this season.
1354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: April 25, 2023, 05:27:50 AM
However how man city played against beyern in the quarter-final winning 3-2 at Etihad and going toe-to-toe with them in full blooded 1-1 suggests that if man city keeps the intensity. Have been playing with all this while they may be a new name on the trophy this time around
Manchester City beat Bayern Munich 3-0 in the first leg of their QF tie at the Etihad, i don't really know where you got the 3-2 scoreline from, and the second leg at the Allianz Arena ended in a 1-1 draw, thus City won on aggregate 4-1. BTW i also think it is going to be City's season in the CL this time around, they have suffered quite a lot of heartbreaks and cruel eliminations in this tournament, but i think they are very much matured to beat Real Madrid this time around, and defeat whichever of the Milan club that makes it to the final.

1356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 24, 2023, 09:20:16 PM
I'm surprised by the rumor Aubameyang to return to Barcelona.
I am not too surprised about that, there have been speculations regarding that for some months now, it is obvious that Aubameyang does not have any future in Stamford Bridge, he loves Barcelona and he only had to leave the last time because they bought Lewandowski and his playing time became very limited, and also because Tuchel who was his former manager at Dortmund wanted him in Chelsea, but Tuchel was sacked a week after his arrival. Barcelona isn't a bad destination for him, he should go there are fight for a place in the team, if he does not want to go to Camp Nou, he can also find smaller clubs where he can play much more regularly.
Regarding Kyle Walker, if AC Milan can guarantee him to play regularly, it is good to move there. AC Milan has some right backs, I am worried that AC Milan just signs him as a substitute player.
There is no chance in hell that Kyle Walker is going to leave Manchester City for Ac Milan, only to become a fringe player. I don't even think Kyle is going to leave City, he just has to be patient, the reason why he isn't playing quite regularly is because Pep changed some of his tactics, and Kyle can't do what Pep requires of his full backs right now, but things can always change quickly, and they revert to a system that favors Kyle, and he starts playing again.
1357  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [Opinion] Why translated topics are still on a single thread? on: April 24, 2023, 08:59:12 PM
But from wetin me dey see e go also better say all translated topics should in one place so that every body go know say na there all translation they go on than just creating separate topic, but any how if una say creating separate topic go better then no issues me dey for all and any one them choose we still do because all we want na for this local board mature heavily so that we fit achieve other sub-forum inside here, maybe at anytime we fit readjust wetin see say e no balance for here.
The matter no dey subjective, e no dey based on wetin one person want, wetin Charles-Tim suggest dey very good, the single thread for translated topics been make sense wella when we no get local board, but only local thread, but now wey we get local board if we want make users they follow put mouth for translated topics using pidging language to pass message to others, then we gats dey create new topic for them, the extant single translation thread no they open for discussion because na just one thread, and discussions there no go too make sense.
1358  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [Opinion] Why translated topics are still on a single thread? on: April 24, 2023, 06:06:11 PM
The translation threads are in a single thread because it to avoid rampant (scatter) posting among users or a single user to avoid spamming. Any who want to make comment that tally with the concept and a topic there can do that.
That reason na because we been no get local board that time na, wetin we get that time na local thread, so e no get as the translation topics go dey for that thread, e for dey disrupt the discussion for that thread. Now wey we don get local board i think say anybody wey wan translate topic suppose open new thread run am for this local board so the topic go dey open for discussion and other users fit talk put for the matter. If you no know, for this single traslation thread discussions no dey allowed. See am:
Ps: This thread is off discussion; all discussion to done on the official Nigeria (Naija) with reference to this thread. DM for thread to be opened for posting your translation.
1359  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: To Trustwallet users. Vulnerability. Repayment. on: April 24, 2023, 05:44:41 PM
Everything is so obvious to you because you are Legendary - you have been in the world of cryptocurrencies for a long time, and are active in them.  And I think you already know without me how rarely people really deeply understand the issue . Even I, Hiro, am just now starting to draw the right conclusions. The powerful advertising campaign of this wallet makes you believe in its security. Which is in fact questionable, or rather it is absent compared to, for example, Electrum.
I understand what you mean that information is easy to Google. But the fact is that you need to find arguments that will make you doubt. I did it - but how many people won't stop to say: Trust wallet prety well I will use only it.
It is not about forum rank, there are quite a lot of people who aren't registered users on Bitcointalk forum, but they know the right thing to do, that's because these people have done their own due dilligence, i don't think there is an excuse for not doing doing your research. Your crypto funds is your money, so just the way you safeguard your fiat currency is the same way you should do to your crypto.

Having said that, part of the reasons why people do not care about getting the right information is because they came into the network to become rich quick, thus their only goal and focus is how high their funds can pump and not how safe their funds is in the wallet they put it. If one actually believes in Bitcoin and in what it offers, the'll study about it, and they'll make their way to forums such as this one to discuss with individuals of like-minds and in the process exchange knowledge.
1360  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: April 24, 2023, 05:09:14 PM
Mr A after reading, sends merit to Mr B but after sometimes, Mr A read some articles and responses of other users and discovered that the centralized used by Mr A had messed everything up.
Mr. A wouldn't want the merit to be there because leaving the merit on top of the misleading post means you support the idea even after getting the right info.
Well, mind you that sending a merit to a post does not necessarily mean you agree to the post completely, sending merits is subjective, thus only the sender knows the actual reason why they sent someone some merits.

Having said that, this scenario of yours is a non-issue, if you merit a post without actually reading it properly, to later find out that the post is incorrect, you either just move on, or correct the users erroneous info through posting in the thread. This would happen rarely anyway, especially if the merit sender scrutinizes posts before sending merits. The option of users taking back their merits after sending it should never be an option, there are multiple ways in which it can be abused.
