1341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mining eth with ubuntu on: July 20, 2016, 11:19:43 PM
depends what you want don't use ubuntu 16 right now it's to hard to set up with AMD cards till AMD comes out with drivers that work like they do with ubuntu 15 and lower then it gonna be the best way to do it from what i was able to run on ubuntu 16 , can't say about  nvidia cards never like there cards much I owned a few, IVE been using AMD cards before AMD bought the company and see no reason to switch now . they all do the same thing in the long run etc .
1342  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmaintech Europe?? on: July 20, 2016, 11:06:46 PM
hm it's not a part of what bitmain just bought ?. I wouldn't know because i would buy direct to by pass the middle man etc .
1343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: July 20, 2016, 08:43:00 PM
Hi,
I am using Awesome Miner Pro to manage three S7's and four S9's.

Is there a way to add the three additional temps for the S9 chips to the AW display?

I tried to add the temps via the customize menu without success at all.
As a matter of fact it freezes AW and none of the options are clickable including close and minimize. I have to go into task manager and end task. I can't even get back into customize to remove the commands I added.

Any suggestions on this other than uninstalling and reinstalling the whole application? I would hate to start from scratch.

Thanks for any answers!

EDIT: Well, uninstalling and reinstalling didn't work. It too me back to the original frozen application. I guess I will have to uninstall again and go find any reference to AW on my machine and delete it.  Undecided Undecided
Hi,
To clean the settings, open the folder %AppData%\AwesomeMiner in the File Explorer. Remove all files named ConfigData.xml*. Then you can start Awesome Miner with all settings removed.

If you want, you could also send me your Awesome Miner log file so I can figure out why you run into this problem. The log file AwesomeMiner.log is located in the folder %LocalAppData%\AwesomeMiner. Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I'll use that in the future if I run into problems again.
I have already uninstalled it, cleaned the registry of entries and reinstalled and added my machines back. I also exported a restoration file for future use.

for uninstalling try this it free for 30 days full unlimited copy and at the end 30 days if your to cheap to buy it re format that PC, but i did buy it so i don't waste the activation's and don't have to deal with support to reset it, i all ways reformat my PC's once a month any way to try new stuff and not to beat some one out of something, i do have 4 legal keys .

I did get Genoils to work by converting the .bat file to an .exe file.  It doesn't have stats but does allow to start/restart/reboot etc

"I" did that to once i think i posted that back before AM had eth support and waited Smiley. but then it run maybe 4  seconds and shut down so i figured it was because there was no support so i asked and waited Smiley.

PS i see hes adding what you want cool

1345  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 5.4.2: GBT+Stratum, RPC, Mac/Linux/Win64, Antminer S1-S5, solo stratum on: July 20, 2016, 04:32:07 PM
A while back i said something about getting this error and one other error i think the S3 hashed for 1 or 2 second then locked  bfg and shut off access to the S3 to the point i had to do a hard ware reset at that point after hours of trying i gave up it got really annoying .

Code:
/dev/bitmain-asic: tcgetattr failed:Inappropriate ioctl for device

the other error was

Code:
bitmain_detect_one stop bitmain_initialize -1

mainly this Inappropriate

to check the kerrel drivers with openwrt

Code:
cat /sys/kernel/debug/usb/devices
it may say USB in the check but it does list any all drivers installed or not . Smiley.

source

https://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/bitcoinmining#installing_kernel_drivers

and that might even be the issue for some reason bfg keeps looking for USB drivers to load like you said  kind of

luke by this

Quote
Looks like it's simply not getting a response from the kernel driver.

and it's finding nothing so it shut downs.  i know it will work on S3's i think i had it running on my C1 which is a S3 over clock and water cooled it dos run on a S5 and works well  but those miners use a bb as the controller you can do all the compiling on that controller and the S1/3 have a completely  different controller with no room to do it like you can on a BB controller but I'm guessing at this point, I'm not really to interested in going back and messing with it for hours till i get annoyed but if some one gets it running I'm willing to give it a shot .
1346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: July 20, 2016, 03:48:28 PM
I downloaded the Siacoin stratum miner (which is a sgminer 5.4 kernel) and put in on a machine and got it showing finemon AwesomeMiner.  It also allows me to import the pool and shows it with the Sia Kernel.

Is there a way to put that file (Sgminer with Siacoin) on other machines through AwesomeMiner?  It would be great if it is possible.

Also, any chance of getting Genoils Ethereum miner on AwesomeMiner? I know it was discussed a page or 2 back.  I am using Claymore's but really do not like it, it burns more power and doesn't yield better hashrate, especially with the Dev fee involved.

Thanks

I do it with claymore and the net work agent for awesome miner . it works  but you might have to drag over the miner to that PC then use  the network agent for awesome miner .

or

leave it on the main PC that has the awesome  then find it and have the network agent loaded on the PC/s you want to then in the managed miner find the software miner then use the remote agent  . if that makes sense it should load any thing from the main PC to the remote PC once you have the remote from awesome miner on all the PC and that's all that's needed on those PC from what ive tried.

I 'm sure what i just explained is a little confusing the bottom line is

awesome miner on main PC set up how you want it pools and the right setting etc then on the PC you want to use remotely you should just need remote awesome miners network agent  installed and running as a windows service after you told me i may want to go back and look it over i figured out how to run the remote network agent for awesome remote on other PC's with only it running and loaded with Claymore 5.1 from my main PC with no miners on the other PC . i dragged over the miner thu  it seems to run better that way . i hope that made some sense .

Id rather use Genoils Ethereum but my reason is probable different then yours i asked for it at first for awesome. he said no API info or not enough,

same reason that Fee and not very good at using  power right because of it , so in the end , I give them free power usages on top of a little fee sigh. (insult to injury) if they would offer some kind of one time charge like awesome does id gladly pay it and remove the forced mining.): I can only guess how bad it is for a big farm .
1347  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 5.4.2: GBT+Stratum, RPC, Mac/Linux/Win64, Antminer S1-S5, solo stratum on: July 18, 2016, 11:05:30 AM
There is a openwrt version on the openwrt site under the download page for S3 but i think it has CG miner in it sadly and there is another link on the open wrt web site that tells you how to run bfg over openwrt which i have on a PI type with Zeus miners but no luck with S1 S3 .I have got it running on S5 c1 etc  but that  ant's controller is different and has enough memory to compile it on the ant . sorry i can't help more .

Thanks that works great now it actually restarts with awesome, pool Switching etc , now to figure out more stuff.

thanks again ..
1349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: July 16, 2016, 09:24:53 PM
Thanks Toptek but I am using the Managed Miner feature.

I am looking for a couple of simple answers.  If I add a managed miner and choose an existing Pool Group, is there a way to change the Worker name?  As of now if I do it they all end up with the same worker name and no option to change it after the Managed Miner is added.

Also, I am trying to set the fans at 95%, is there a command I can put in the command line parameters to start that, I have already got the miners configured and do not want to redo all of them with a Device Profile.

something like  -tt -95,  I did it and it worked  Grin

thanks

o i know what you mean i have yet to get that to work right never gave it much thought i figured that was one of those limits he told us about mybad.I use managed mining to but change it all with Claymore sense that doesn't seem to work well with gpus but does with all my ants or asics miners put in as managed or scanned as network .I haven't tried with any other GPU type coin or software, i built the rig mostly for eth mining  but plan to mine other stuff  with it .

mybad misunderstand
1350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Attaching GPU on Raspberry, possible? on: July 16, 2016, 07:05:35 AM
i did a search a while back it is possible if you want to spend a lot on external pcie slots they do cost a lot atm  for pi's , i wanted to know my self so i went looking some have done it but the cost may not be worth it unless you have the know how , tools and time to do it . i think i found some external pcei express stuff that might work but at 500 to a 1000 dollars a pop not worth it. if i had saved the link i would post it for you  but i didn't after i saw the cost.

it had some thing to do with arduino Smiley.

here is something on it  someone has all ready looked in to on the forums , what i found cost more and was able to be used on a pi type .!!! . im not gonna brother right now i have to rebuild my farm slow .so for me it's cheaper to build it with mother boards etc but it would be nice to use PI's it's cheaper and might even work better .

1351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: can i use 1 power supply to 2 motherboard ? on: July 16, 2016, 02:36:47 AM
HM i wouldn't do that you might burn something up sharing PSU's  that way .  you can probable do it using a switch but not one PSU with two Mother boards at the same time . if that's the plan .

@kilo17
in the epools.txt not the start.bat if you are using the start.bat you may have better results using the epools.txt and un comment  the # after you edit your line for what pool etc . i have Claymore 5.1 working with Awesome miner with no issue but had to use the epools.txt file and edited the start.bat file to show

Code:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0

EthDcrMiner64.exe

for  Linux it's the start.bash use this

Code:
export GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR="0"
export GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE="100"
export GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS="1"
export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT="100"
export GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT="100"

./ethdcrminer64

Code:
CD\Claymore for windows
 EthDcrMiner64.exe or EthDcrMiner64
at CMD.

for linux some thing like this @ a SSH prompt.

Code:
screen bash
cd /home/Claymore
./start.bash

or to what ever you left the folder as, it works in windows or Linux.

not sure thu if that's your issue but it looks like  you might be using the bat or Sh file set up wrong . again I'm not sure if this is your issue but it sounds like it might be..!!

I 'm waiting for AMD to offer better support for ubuntu 16 were it work like it does with ubuntu 15 or lower the drivers for ubuntu 16 and amd are still hard to set up just right , so I'm gonna use win 10 for now .

and  EthOS is giving us all a lot of BS now no idea why . Sad.

I'm having issues installing bfgminer on Raspberry Pi (model B), Raspbian Jessy (latest image). I could run it before with Raspbian Wheezy and I followed this guide: http://www.instructables.com/id/Bitcoin-Mining-using-Raspberry-Pi/?ALLSTEPS

Now with new memory card I want to install bfgminer again and it won't compile. I'm still following the guide but have also followed the tips from https://github.com/luke-jr/bfgminer/issues/627, did not work. Installed autoreconf and still not able to compile.

why not use Ubuntu 16 new version due out at the end of the month, it is suppose to fix a lot of issue for rasp berry PI the first version of ubuntu 16 broke . i use mostly cubieboards , banana pis and orange Pi they actually work better for me with ubuntu 16 from here http://www.armbian.com/  yea there is no rasp berry support on that site they won't support them ,I don't use them much but  if the new of ubuntu 16.04.1 fixes a lot of stuff I may again .

They need to offer support thu emails etc not just on some IRC channel some place to start with . I bought a copy but don't use it much I don't like how support works the only way to get any kind of support is thu IRC . sigh   now this I don't know if it happen to me yet i reformatted that SSD reloaded it with windows 10 . it was my own SSD i never got the SSD or tired to that your suppose to get when you buy the copy ,  I did ask about getting it and was ignored.

I also forgot here to

https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=18096.0

they give two for download that used to work, i just tried the one i linked above in a PI it doesn't work well and  has major issue loading, so may be try one of them from the litecoin forums, i completely forgot about other wise  your only  two options are minera as a custom install with ubuntu 15 or lower unless you feel like dealing with php issue with ubuntu 16 and minera or command line mine with it on the same PI with minera installed  but load bfg or cg at cmd with ssh and screen first then monitor it with minera that works or wait till the end of summer maybe sooner for the new version of minera that's gonna work with ubuntu 16 and may be a windows version Mich told me in a PM and on  the minera thread .
1356  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Anyone use dust filters on there miners? on: July 11, 2016, 08:56:15 PM
I tried a few different ones they only made my S5's then over heat or run worse there is still no replacement for monthly cleaning .

Yeah but my SSD doesnt show up in there. I have downloaded it.  Tongue

reformat the SSD with rufus-2.9.exe then try it may be windows doesn't see it,  I have had  the same issues using some SSD , SD, USB sticks etc  or try disk part in a windows cmd.the SSD might be formatted with some other OS that windows doesn't  like or see for windows fat . if that's your issue .

As evidenced by this thread words from Bitfury mean nothing, except perhaps that they're somewhat good at PR.

Yeah and unfortunately its a big one. They've certainly never scammed anyone but we just can't trust anything they say any more. We fell for it more than once and the rugs been pulled out from under us again and again. It also boggles the mind that after completing my 50th - and probably my last - hardware review, that there has not been one IRL picture or miner seen by a third party since their generation one boards. Bitfury, the leading hardware manufacturer of ghost hardware.

last why bitmain going private ?. !!! or your done dealing with it ? and finally see others point of view of how much the big guys really Don't care any more .

What do you mean by that? I don't understand the first part.
