^I’m glad the Pelicans just spammed the Suns again. Hometown team or not, I can’t hope for a team to win if I don’t respect their players. Glad Chris Paul got hammered all game and Zion smashed everyone. It needed to happen. The Suns are way too high off their Finals appearance still. They’re acting like they’ve won multiple championships or something. I’m ready to blow up this roster and give the team to Ayton.

Hahaha..They beat the Suns two in a row, and that's because they can't stop Zion. This team is legit, they are at the number 1 spot now, and they deserve respect so I don't know if the Suns have a shot of beating them once they'll face off in the playoffs. No Ingram, no problem. To be fair, Booker did not play so.... still the Pelicans are the better team.
1382  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The patience to hold is a gift on: December 11, 2022, 10:09:48 PM
Recommending someone to invest in Bitcoin is some how risky. If the don't have the patience to wait for the bull season to commence the might sell at a loss and but the blame on the introducer. And many likes attributing their failures to someone then their success to their personal effort. I have learnt from past experience that before I recommend Bitcoin to a newbie I will first ask how long the can hold for and that will determine if I will be willing to proceed with guidance or end it there.

It's not all about how long they will hold, it's how knowledgeable they are about of what they are dealing with. It's easy to invest into something but hard to get the profit/ROI that you want. So, if a newbie would want to invest this might take some personal or shared experience before they decide what to do with their investment.

If they have a good mentor then they are lucky to have one compared to those who are self-learning because it might take some time before they learn their lesson.
Learning is so fast if someone who has a huge knowledge of a particular thing like investing in crypto will accompany us and share their ideas as well. Because what we get from reading online, watching YouTube is incomplete while if someone teaches you and explains to you face to face, it was easy to understand.

But also, if we wanted to enhance our knowledge and skills, we have to improve our mindset as well and tried to encourage ourselves not to be afraid of taking risks. Because this form of investment is not just all about knowledge and skills but also about the experience. More experience - more learning.
1383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether: USDT is the next token to crash / Tether fraud exposed on: December 11, 2022, 09:44:36 PM
If USDT is going to be a problem it should have happened before Luna and FTX, later Tether was audited and they drop proof of reserve too, that's what I read online but I will be surprised if something happened because right from day one all eye is on USDT and Tether.
This could trigger another bear trend and maybe this will be the worst one.
Stablecoins are on a big threat right now and if USDT fall into a big drop as well, then it will be hard for the market to rise again and for sure, the trust for stablecoins will be at risk. USDT should address every issues and assure the public about the safety of the funds, hoping that this is just a rumor.
Actually, trust in stablecoins has already been disturbed after several crashes and scam issues. Investors are now about to think if they will invest them or not knowing the high risk and possibly losing their money. As this issue has been spreading and perhaps, it was alarming already - people will not put their money into them (stablecoins) and tend to stay away from them.

I have been using Tether before for my trade but now, after all the issues have been raised, I already stop and not use it anymore.
1384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 11, 2022, 12:37:20 PM
We have a few games tomorrow but the most interesting game I saw is the Suns vs Pelicans.

This is a rematch, Suns thought they were disrespected by the Pelicans, so they have to beat the Pelicans in another game, still at the Pelicans homecourt.
The spread now is Pelicans -3 and the last game's result was 117 - 128... Let's start analyzing this game.

My personal thoughts, I think I will still stick with the home team.
1385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: December 11, 2022, 12:10:53 PM
But likewise, seems boring to see both SMC to compete in the finals. Gin kings against the heavy favorite visiting team will attract more audiences, that might be the scenery in the finals...

Might be boring but we don't have entertaining teams in the league to compete in the Finals aside from SMC teams and foreign teams.

But yes, it would be more entertaining if the Dragons will be in the Finals.

I'm looking forward on BGSM making it to the Finals. Although most SMC teams can match with the Dragons, I prefer BGSM to do the job facing that team.

Depending on the outcome of the semi Finals, if SMB will have an impressive win against the Dragons, then I think I will be backing them to win the championship ship. For now, the best team is the Dragons due to their good record, and although they are tied with Magnolia in the number 1 spott but Dragons are still the better team.

The semi-finals will start on December 14, so they have plenty of time to rest, especially for the import of Magnolia who has a minor injury that he suffered in game 2 against Phoenix.

Yes, they have plenty of time to rest and to figure out how to beat their opponent. Well, the betting odds are not out yet so we cannot decide whether we will bet early or not. PBA should follow the style of NBA where they make the odds available early.

By the way guys, are you still interested on betting here? I mean local betting, that would be fun if we have some bets here.
1386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or altcoin? on: December 11, 2022, 11:27:29 AM
Leaving sentiments asides, will you advise someone to still buy some Bitcoins (Not up to the value of 1)  if they have an amount of money that will be okay to purchase the equivalent of 1 of a good altcoin with a strong community? Is having some bitcoins (in decimals) more valuable still than having the value of one good altcoin?
You need to ask yourself why many of the good altcoins we have in the market had crashed following the trendy pattern of Bitcoin. We LL that there are so.e altcoins in the market that are very good and have a great team but we need to check it out if they can stand on there own. Holding large amount of Bitcoin will be very profitable than holding many of the altcoins we see in the crypto market. It is just a matter of time when the price of Bitcoin will good bull again and anyone holding Bitcoin would smile more because the profits would be massive.
If we come into a long-term investment, Bitcoin is really the best option to take over altcoins, even ETH. But if we aim for just short-term, altcoins seem to become ideal due to hypes where a big chance of multiplying your money many times than Bitcoin.
Yes, it really matters on time and it also matters in which altcoins we choose to invest. A wise investor won't just invest in Bitcoin alone but also having altcoins together. And I think that was advisable, though.
1387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does the bitcoin community currently trust Tether? on: December 10, 2022, 01:39:10 PM
I have no reason to distrust USDT, I keep this as my trading pair for many years (BTC/USDT).
Yes, it is a stablecoin, it was centralized and controlled by someone but I'd never think it was totally risky holding this for at least a few days. Maybe if we talk about holding long-term, that is another story but if we just use it for trading, I think there is no problem, and still can be trusted.

What happened to Luna is another story, Tether is one of the top 5 coins in the market which means that many people give trust despite the negative views of stablecoins.
1388  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should I invest in cryptocurrency or start my business? on: December 10, 2022, 12:31:34 PM
Since the price of bitcoin has significantly dropped from where it was last year, I will seriously consider investing in it rather than taking a chance on a new business venture that requires more time and work to run. If you decided to invest long-term in cryptocurrency, you still have more free time to unwind and enjoy life. Additionally, you have some free time to explore and pick up new skills in a different interest.
Perhaps, doing business is even more profitable compared to Bitcoin if you could get the need and demands of the people around you. It is indeed risky and needs more time and effort, unlike just investing in Bitcoin that we just hold and wait for the right time to sell but if we believe this is our passion, we'd rather choose this option.
But if we think we can carry all the risk and can dear to face the challenge, then taking them both is not hard. Some people did this and the are multiplying their money fast.
1389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: December 10, 2022, 07:39:37 AM

Though before they can move forward, SMB still needs another win against the young but impressive Converge, unpredictable but the bookies give SMB as heavy favorite here.

Exactly, we are too excited about a possible match-up of SMB and Bay Area and we forgot they still have one game to win. Converge maybe not so competitive in the first game, but I'm pretty sure they'll come up with a good plan to upset the SMB, I'm thinking of betting the underdog and will be taking the handicap.
1390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 10, 2022, 04:50:12 AM
I’m watching the Lakers vs 76ers game and man is this De’Anthony Melton kid lighting up the scoreboard. He is 8/11 from 3 point range on his way to 30 points.  I don’t think the Sixers would’ve won this game without him. A great performance for a relatively unknown player against multiple hall of famers. He’s going to be one happy guy when he gets home tonight. I’m happy for him, but would have preferred a Lakers win as they’ve been playing great lately.

I'm surprised that this game went to OT, I was watching in the 4th quarter but the Sixers already had a good lead, I'm surprised when I come back that the game was already in overtime. Still plenty of time left, but it's still the sixers who are leading in the OT period.

Ya, I didn’t expect them to take it to overtime. I think when I made that post they were down by 8 with under a minute left. Almost a great comeback.

How about Zion tonight also? The guy was putting on a show. I think the MVP race might now be between Luka, Giannis and Zion. If Zion stays healthy the Pelicans are going to be making some noise in the postseason.

Luka was the most consistent of the 3 IMO, but the season is still too early, still plenty of things that are gonna happen, so let's wait for the exciting part. By the way, Two mvps are playing against each other now, Luka vs Giannis but it's Luka's team who are ahead now. 12 points lead by Dallas, 66-78.

1392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do in this case? on: December 09, 2022, 09:40:41 PM
A well known crypto newbie contact me about two crypto project he his currently holding, Mina Protocol and Fuel, the problem is Alameda and FTX are big investors of these two projects, he is asking if he should sell his bag and replace with other altcoin?

Is this a good reason to sell off your coins and replace with another that Alameda and FTX aren't involved? Pls drop your idea .

What will you do in this case?
If I were in that situation, I will sell them and replace them with potential projects. We have to anticipate the possible collapse of that project as it was connected to FTX and Alameda. Though we are in this bear season and we expect a drop in prices, yet we can't be confident that it is because of the bearish situation as might it drop because many investors are also selling their coins earlier.

I think we better stay away from the projects that FTX and Alameda are involved with. That I think was the safest way to do it now.
1393  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Long term Crypto winning strategies on: December 09, 2022, 01:56:05 PM

snip~... Buy dip and hodl for a long term so you can able to make huge profit.

Holding for 5 years, 10 years - that is the meaning of long-term. Yet, holding for too long guarantees nothing for a huge profit but for sure, we can get bigger rewards compared to short-term investors. But of course, it really matters the coins we choose to hold because not all of them are worthy, many of them are worthless and just a waste of time.

Bitcoin and Ethereum are good coins for the long term. We should not miss the opportunity we have today for this will somehow change someday.
1394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: December 09, 2022, 05:19:42 AM

We've seen those talkers in Inoues past opponents but it turns out that ending up on being a disaster.I do agree that Butler shouldnt really be that talkative right now.  Cheesy

That's okay, give that to him because that's his only chance that he can beat Inoue, but inside the ring, comes fight night, we will see how easy this is for Inoue, and I'm hoping that Butler would not be heavily hurt as the beast will be unleash and Inoue will always go for a KO.

Part of the game, trash talkers knows what they are about to enter specially against great boxers, we have seen it through boxing history. Nevertheless it could be part of their mentally, or try to get a edge over their opponent because there could be boxers who simply melt under pressure or they are distracted when someone talks bad about them or their families.

But in Inoue's case, if he can't spoke the language that much and even if there is an interpreter, the message might be delivered differently.

And besides, Inoue has the best record in this division so I don't know how Butler will talk trash against him.

Inoue does not need to respond on that trash talk, he already know what to do, the best revenge is to give Butler the best defeat that people will not forget, I'm talking of an slow beat down until he will get knockout in the 12 rounds, that's called punishment, the longer he will receive heavy punches, the more damage would happen to him.
1395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Mercito Gesta (January) on: December 09, 2022, 04:13:01 AM
I learned that this fight will be contested at 135 lbs. and not a catchweight, which is kind of confusing because Davis and Garcia agreed on a 136 lbs. catchweight fight. Please someone explain to me about this because it got me confused. Did Ryan Garcia predicted that he will be having a hard time on his weight on the later date and not with against Gesta this January?

Yes, I do agree with your confusion, Ryan said that he can't make the 135 lbs weight limit and now suddenly he is going to have a tune up against a dangerous Filipino in that weight?

His last two fight if I'm not mistaken is above this weight and it a catch weight fight. With this fight against Davis, he is giving so much to Tank all advantage is with Davis, including the weight. So hopefully Garcia can win here without any problems.

This will be to test his stamina at this weight class, if he can defeat Gesta without a problem, then that would say that he is 100% ready to face Tank Davis. I know that it's one of the most anticipated fight next year, so hopefully Garcia will not take this "tune up" fight for granted. It's the dedication to fight and the will to win will be the key for the winner of the fight, and I believe Gesta will take it as the biggest fight of his life, hence he will not let this opportunity slip.
1396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 08, 2022, 01:02:19 PM
You still think same after that disastrous first half for Lakers? It was fairly obvious when both Anthony Davis and LeBron James officially ruled out.

"Ah shit, here we go again," said the Lakers after losing LeBron and Davis once again. Grin Honestly, I even thought the Lakers could find their rhythm, considering they've been playing pretty well lately. However, it looks like the Lakers' success depends a lot on the health of those two guys because the team doesn't have anyone who can replace them.
Unfortunately, now the Lakers have two losses in a row due to Davis and LeBron's absence, and that's too bad because they were so close to even their win/loss numbers.

It was Davis who has the biggest contribution to the team, even with Lebron playing, Lakers will still struggle, but put Davis back and even if Lebron is out, Lakers will remain competitive. IMO, it's Anthony Davis who is now the most important player of the Lakers, not Lebron, so it's hard to see the Lakers playing without him.

Maybe, but it was Lebron who started this team better, without him also this team will struggle. Davis maybe the best contributor this season, but without Lebron they'll never win a championship, best chance they'll have is to reach the playoffs but for sure they'll be eliminated early.

There's no need to compare both actually, both are great players, let's just hope that they'll both be healthy so they'll make this team a championship team.

They are in one team and without Davis or Lebron, this Lakers team will never be the same. Actually, Westbrook was not anymore counted as the big 3 is not anymore a big 3, we only have Lebron and Davis who is bringing this team to success.

Davis will be back soon as he was only listed with Illness, not a serious injury.

https://www.foxsports.com/nba/anthony-davis-player
Quote
Won't play Wednesday
Davis (illness) won't be available Wednesday versus the Raptors, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports.
Impact On a positive note, Davis' illness is listed as the non-COVID-19 variety, so he should be in store for only a brief absence. With Davis, LeBron James (ankle) and Wenyen Gabriel (shoulder) set to sit, Thomas Bryant, Damian Jones and Juan Toscano-Anderson should take on sizable workloads in the frontcourt.

Seriously, for the first time I feel like I wanna puke after reading the comments in this thread, it turns out that many people are saying Bitcoin has a bright future and the price will continue to increase. I don't know, maybe I'm exaggerating, but this really happened.

There's nothing wrong with being optimistic, but you have to be prepared if things run against your expectations.
The same thought that I have before but after experiencing the 2016 Bullrun followed by a long bear season, I eventually change my mind and thought that the price is continuously growing and that is because there is a continuous growth of market demand. Of course, we can be optimistic always but also, but we never have to forget also to anticipate possible price corrections. We always make ourselves prepared for whatever happens to note that not all the time is the market high but also dump is inevitable.
1398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your opinion on the future of Decentralised exchanges on: December 08, 2022, 11:49:23 AM
Will decentralised exchanges get more attention now that FTX secrets is all out? Will people now trust decentralised exchanges more than centralised exchanges? Cos the only thing still standing tall right now is Binance, I believe this is the only CEX people still give full face 😂  but it seems like Uniswap and Pancake will take the lead in near future?
I couldn't assume that this will affect and influence attention to the community but what just I see is that what happened to FTX will affect the trust in CEX.
And even Binance could not escape from it and the criticism made but of course, reputable exchanges whether it was Centralized or Decentralized exchanges will remain active and stand strong despite what is happening around them because their intention is not to fail people's views and scams traders but for them to give satisfying services and can be trusted.
1399  Economy / Economics / Re: 5 things you should not do with your money to get rich on: December 05, 2022, 10:23:46 AM
If we want to get rich...then stop thinking about saving and look for an opportunity to grow our money and that is to keep investing. When I say investment, it should be put in a profitable investment, not elsewhere. Many people had fail to grow their money even though they have investments and that is because they also change their lifestyle instantly.

It is supposed to be this way;
 - more investment - the same lifestyle
1400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The goodness of long-term investing in cryptocurrency on: December 05, 2022, 09:46:10 AM
...A long-term investment is good if you are the type that doesn't have time to monitor the market along with the noise that comes with it.
Even if you spend much time watching the market, long-term investing is much better than short-term, long-term investments are less risky than short-term investments. As we all know, bitcoin is unpredictable, and chart analysis will only be partially correct, not giving 100% accurate results, so short-term investments will sometimes lose. I am also a long term investor, not a trader, I still follow the news daily, and I did the right thing. Following the market closely helped me capitalize on the FTX crash, and I bought some bitcoin for $15.7k, a price that will be hard to see again in the future.
No, you can't say that because in some cases short-term investing gives more profit. Just look into hyped projects, they are meant for the short-term but as you can see, many people got involved with this even though it was risky because they are certain about earning a profit without waiting for Bullrun. Even long-term investment gives you losses but that will only happen upon investing shitcoins. If you are doing a long-term deal, make sure that you are investing the right coins, otherwise, losses are what you get in the end.
