This whole situation shows only how toxic this space can be.

No! I do not think so. The crypto community is made up of a diverse group of people with different backgrounds, experiences, and motivations. Just like in any other community, there are likely to be both good and bad actors in the crypto space. Therefore, it is important to consider the actions of individuals rather than making blanket judgments about the entire community.

In your case, it is difficult to give an objective opinion because of the lack of information. I guess you can create a new topic and prove you are an official representative by placing a link to that topic on your website and social profiles. After that, you can report the old topic so that the moderators lock it.
1402  Economy / Reputation / Re: Problem on Logo Design Order on: December 11, 2022, 11:52:04 AM
Thanks guys for your responses, I appreciate it a lot. Yeah it shows his unprofessionalism side on that thing, and it might also indicate that this is not the first time he doing this. I was just unsure to take firm action on it because the cost for this work is not that big. Though, a little thing could affect the reputation of a company.

For now, I'll wait his reply to my latest message and if he doesn't respond nor ignore my message, I might leave neutral feedback as @dkbit98 suggests so everyone could be aware of him and the project he is about to launch. Further step such as negative feedback could be taken if there is no solution between us.

I am curious about his reaction to the logo design. Did he like it? I would suggest that you try to explain to him that it is unprofessional and unfair for him to walk away from the deal like that, especially after you've already put your effort and time into creating the logo design. Especially considering that the money is not that big, as you said.

If he is still interested in having an ANN made, offer him a logo and an ANN design as part of the package. Or adjust your price for the work you have done so far and make sure to get paid upfront for it.

You do not have to leave a negative tag on his account, but I think it would be fair if you left a neutral tag on the account with a reference to this thread or at least a mention of the brand. If they are struggling with finances at the very start, the community should know which casino it is because of the potential risk.

But as a newbie that want to tread this path, what are the things I need to know about it? Will buying and hording for a long time profit me?

Some people believe that Bitcoin will eventually become a global currency, which would mean that it could be used for online transactions and purchases absolutely anywhere in the world. Because it is decentralized and not controlled by any government or financial institution, it could provide an alternative to traditional forms of money and enable people to make transactions without the need for intermediaries.

Another potential use of Bitcoin in the future is as a store of value. Because the supply of Bitcoin is limited and cannot be easily manipulated by governments or banks, it could be seen as a more stable and reliable way to hold wealth compared to traditional currencies that are subject to inflation.

Overall, the future of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies is uncertain, but they have the potential to revolutionize the way we think about and use money. No one can tell you that you will profit by buying and hording bitcoin for a long time, but if you are looking to invest in a currency that may have potential, this is one of the best options. The main thing to remember is that the value of any currency is based on what other people are willing to pay for it; if there is no one else who wants Bitcoin, then its price can drop significantly. That is why it is important for beginners to understand the basics of Bitcoin and the potential risks and rewards of investing in it.

There will be a second round?
1406  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: December 09, 2022, 08:26:04 PM
discovery of the year. PowerGlove will win that position without stress.
That would make a proxy banned user the winner two years in a row. Makes me wonder which other users we've missed out of because of anti spam measures.

That is an interesting fact. Out of curiosity, did PowerGlove ever mention if he was proxy banned for using a VPN or direct internet connection?

I think school falls short, or at least for me and my schoolmates, we were never taught
any financial education. That was reserved for the more academic students.

But it's true, Financial education is so important, everything we do has a financial aspect
or consequence.

Yes, these are valid questions, and they deserve real answers. It should be a requirement, as important as reading and writing. While it can be true that ignorance is bliss, it is also true that financial education can't fix all of life's issues. However, it sure can help us get started on the right foot when it comes to money. And that, I believe, is worth its weight in gold.
1408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The cryptocurrency sector is hateful and evil on: December 08, 2022, 08:24:18 PM
Nobody does because the cryptocurrency sector is too dumb to understand this. The very least that you can do is shut the fuck up about it and learn your fucking place.

Language, my dear doctor. Language!

If you expect people to take you seriously, start talking with sense, not with sentiment. Sentiment is for schoolgirls and fools. So how about you start by recognizing that you have made statements which are clearly false, and then explain why you think they are true. I do not want to hear about what you feel or how you might have felt in the past. All that is irrelevant. Evidence! We need to see the evidence. The scientific method. Otherwise, you are just trolling here.
1409  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Imagine a crypto world without VCs on: December 08, 2022, 07:37:54 PM
I do not think there is any point asking what is better or who we need to invest in Bitcoin. I could not care less about the whole investment issue. You should understand that Bitcoin did not come from the need of any investor or for any entrance. Bitcoin became this big because people started to use it. People are willing to use Bitcoin. I do not see why we want to get money from venture capital companies just to use Bitcoin. Bitcoin does not need venture capital. It has been designed that way, and this is a very good thing. We do not need more money, we need more people using Bitcoin.
1410  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A Bitcoin Question on: December 08, 2022, 07:20:02 PM
I see most people here have answered similarly, that the price of bitcoin would go up due to reduced supply. But I agree with what Wapfika said: If something so catastrophic happens, Bitcoin would be worthless to everyone—including miners—so it might fork or people might start using another cryptocurrency entirely. Your coins would become worthless.
1411  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to add current quote on website? on: December 08, 2022, 12:20:45 AM
TryNinja is right, the simplest way would be using some of the freely available API endpoints.

For example:
https://www.coingecko.com/en/api
https://www.blockchain.com/explorer/api
https://coinmarketcap.com/api/
1412  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain can underatand , but BTC price where it comes on: December 07, 2022, 11:33:43 PM
I know the economics, demand and supply determines the price. But here how technically price comes from?

Technically, the current price of bitcoin comes from the exchange. The price at any given moment comes from what market participants are willing to pay for a unit of the cryptocurrency.

The price of bitcoin is based on the trading pairs that are available on the exchanges. These trading pairs include BTC/USD, BTC/EUR, and other fiat currencies. The price of bitcoin also depends on the exchange rate of these currencies in relation to each other.

1414  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Questions about Bitcoin investment and Mining. on: December 07, 2022, 10:41:54 PM
The second is about Bitcoin mining; what is the difference between investing in bitcoin and mining bitcoin, or are they interchangeable? If you do not wish to purchase, will you mine your own Bitcoin?

It is important to understand that investing in bitcoin is not the same thing as mining bitcoin. Investing in bitcoin is simply buying some of the coins as they hit the market, while mining is the work of providing the hardware and energy to support the blockchain (the decentralized ledger that keeps track of all bitcoin transactions). Put another way, you could say that investing in bitcoin is more of a speculation, you are putting money into an asset that you hope will appreciate over time. Mining, on the other hand, is all about providing support for transactions happening on the blockchain right now.

~
Topic/Thread was about the currently ongoing Qatar 2022 World Cup, it was one I am supposed to keep updated as new developments show up, and of course I had that in mind..

Multiple threads of discussion regarding the ongoing world football championship are already available on the forum. Why did you think another one was needed? Any updates you have could be posted in one of the following threads:

FIFA 2022 world cup
FIFA World Cup 2022 Group Stage Highlights
FIFA World Cup 2022: Tournament Discussion Thread for Qatar 2022
Qatar world cup Final Predictions

Is it ideal that a topic with up to 3(three) pages of comments would be deleted without notifying  or any form notice to the OP.

What do you guys think about this?, I really don't know how this makes me feel right now, sad or happy I can't tell, really.

I believe that only deleting individual posts sends a notification to the original poster via PM and email, but not if the whole thread is moved to trashcan. It is always been that way as far as I know.
1416  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: about cryptocurrency on: December 06, 2022, 09:01:30 PM
It is difficult to answer this question without knowing exactly what you are looking for, but in general, as with other financial choices, the best advice is to do some thorough research before deciding on how to invest your money. Make sure you really understand what cryptocurrency is before you invest, and be cautious.

For me, the most important thing is to believe in cryptocurrency as a technology. I have looked into it, and it is pretty awesome, but from the perspective of someone who is not technically minded. It definitely has its unintuitive quirks but that is because it's new and does not fit the systems we have used so far. The best thing for me is that it is not created by any big company, although some have jumped on board! So, I think that blockchain and cryptocurrencies will play an increasing role in how we live in the coming years.
1417  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tips to Becoming a Successful Holder on: December 05, 2022, 10:42:40 PM
OP, You do not have to use exchanges to be a successful HODLer. There are many other ways to get bitcoins.
For example, you can accept them as payment for your services. You can also let people buy stuff from you using Bitcoin. You can even get a bitcoin wallet and buy your first coins directly from another person.
1418  Economy / Reputation / Re: I have been subjected to harassment on: December 05, 2022, 10:19:55 PM

Well at the beggining I really don't care about it, but He start talking about some sue and he start to be more rude in his emails.

The lawsuit he has threatened is frivolous, and you have no cause for concern since his arguments are ridiculous.
If he starts making more serious threats, I suggest you report him to the authorities. You also have every right to file a lawsuit against him for harassment. You should consult a lawyer before you take that step, but I think it would be perfectly legal and appropriate.
1419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin revolution - How it all began | Documentary on: December 04, 2022, 06:45:05 PM
I agree, this documentary is probably the best introduction to Bitcoin that I have ever seen. It is very well done and the video does a great job of explaining how Bitcoin works and the history behind it. It also describes the importance of anonymity in the world we live in today and how Bitcoin can be used as a way to protect one's privacy. The video also does an excellent job of explaining why Bitcoin has value, and why it is so important for the future of money, and it addresses some of the criticisms that have been leveled against it, such as its volatility and the environmental impact associated with mining. It also explains why the creator of Bitcoin has remained anonymous and why he has not cashed out and become a billionaire.

In my opinion, if you are new to Bitcoin and want a very clear explanation of what it is and how it works, this is the best video to watch. It is well-produced and very easy to understand, even if you are not a technical person. Thanks for posting this, @shahzadafzal.

Those who are constantly propagating to stop using exchanges are the ones who are still using them quietly.  It is not possible to completely stop using exchanges, as long as fiat remains the main currency, we cannot stop using exchanges, that is a harsh reality.

While this might be true for some, I know that is not true in my case. As long as I can make payments directly with Bitcoin, I do not need exchanges. In this way, I can avoid all the risks associated with dealing with exchanges.
