1401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia on: February 12, 2023, 09:59:34 PM
Anyone see the odds for this fight?

Davis - 1.35
Garcia - 2.95

So that is a huge gap, Ryan Garcia is 3:1 underdog in this fight, hehehe, I don't think that should be the gap, but sport bookies think that Tank Davis is more of the complete fighter and totally disregard of Ryan's power.

And if ever the fight pushes through, it's better for Ryan's fans to go bet right now, go to Vegas and put a lot of money or for us, go to our favorite crypto bookies and have that bet on the ML.

that would give a very good motivation for garcia to prepare and be at his best when he faces davis. right now, that's the odds, so maybe when the fight is getting near, they may give garcia like 2.5x. but so far bookies are giving davis at the spot here. davis' last fight was a tko with hector garcia and it was only last month. whereas, ryan garcia's last fight was july 2022. the gap is quite long for garcia, whereas, davis seems to be at his best. so let's see if there will be upset here or not.
Definitely, the present odds will challenge Garcia to improve his performance and give his best shot inside the ring. Otherwise, Davis will beat him because it’s obvious that Davis is the crowd’s favorite here because of his impressive fights prior to this fight. So if I were Garcia, I’d see this as a great motivation to be more serious in this fight and refrain from talking nonsense as it’s always the performance that will only matter in the end. So good luck and may the best player wins.
1402  Economy / Economics / Re: Can one achieve financial independence through crypto currency? on: February 12, 2023, 09:46:02 PM
From what I have seen in the news and also in the forum some people have met their life savings into crypto, and they have managed to be those people who have reached financial independence with the correct and lucky choice of project.

As long as you have gained profitable results in the investments that you have done with crypto, I think that’s going to be already the dream.

Maybe if you were to invest in it continuously ever since you discovered it, it may be 5 to 8 years ago, then that’s a life-changing amount.
Many have been successful in crypto and achieve financial independence but always know that their struggles before achieving that goal is never easy. It’s really a matter of hardwork and resilience, and of course patience as crypto is very unpredictable. And it’s very important that you are investing in the right projects, because that will give you decent amount of profits. Otherwise, if you trust the wrong projects, you will only lose your money and you may be discouraged to invest again.
1403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is Gambling? ChatGPT Responses. on: February 12, 2023, 09:30:28 PM
It's an interesting experience but I'm still looking for someone able to leverage its abilities and skills for real help in gambling, at online casinos or at land based one thanks to a smartphone. But unfortunately I think the level ChatGPT AI is still too low to give a concrete help for any gambling game yet, sadly. Maybe in few years we will see enhanced AI able to do that though.
In the end, ChatGPT would only tell that gambling is risky as it is, so one should always gamble at its own  risk. But if you are expecting to get better answers from ChatGPT like giving you strategies to win or analyzing some bets for you, this AI machine will never be capable for that. That’s why we should still use our human minds when it comes to gambling, as gambling needs more focus and good thinking analysis if we want bigger chances if winning.
1404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone making a living from Crypto Sports betting? on: February 12, 2023, 09:15:18 PM
To answer your question- I think not a lot of people bet on sports to make a living, only a very few of them do. However, it's worth mentioning that there are a lot of tipster on soccer where someone can buy credits and use them to buy match result from tipsters.
Personally, I do it for fun, to spend little time. But I'm not in loss. If I check overall, I'm pretty sure I'm in profit.
Most of the times, I play in stake, that's best I think considering all other aspects.
I have also good experiences with Stake so I would say that it’s one of the most reputable one I know. But I would never suggest to anyone to make sports betting a source of living, it will never guarantee consistent profits since it’s still gambling after all. Although sports betting create more chances to win compared to casinos, but the best way to deal with it is to see it as a source of fun and entertainment rather than to make it a living and eventually lose your hard-earned money in the end.
1405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My ideals on how to promote Bitcoin in my locality on: February 12, 2023, 08:59:27 PM
The idea of the religious leader enlightening their followers about Bitcoin will make some of their followers trust and believe in Bitcoin. However, religion was not about enlightening people about BTC and I also believe most religious leaders cant be aware of the concept of Bitcoin until some of their followers introduce them to it. Meanwhile, I have once seen a church that accepts offerings and tithes in BTC I don't remember where I watch the video.
That could be true, as they always look up to their leaders and easily influenced by them. But believing in such things that they don’t even know will only lead to failure and losses in the end. So I don’t think it will be an effective strategy to promote bitcoin, aside from churches should never be involved in any people’s own desires to promote something that is not related to the church. Yes, it could be helpful but in a wrong way.
1406  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your successes over the past 5 years on: February 11, 2023, 09:59:16 PM
We have seen many success stories related to cryptocurrency, but those who have lost their money have already left the forum and will not be able to tell us their story. And what kind of story can the OP tell, who obviously, because of his inherent modesty, decided to keep silent.
Some people are too silent but some people are also proud of their achievements in life. Might OP don't have any good experience which makes him silent or solicit opinions and stories just to boost his courage and motivation? Or this could change his mindset and make him believe that investing in crypto is a good investment, not a failure. Then he could start planning what he gonna do next and can show us as well his achievements in the future.
That could be some possible reasons too why he let us share ours so he can change his mindset and his way of dealing his investments so that he can be as successful like us in the future. Or it might be that he’s just too humble not to brag his successes for the past 5 years, but I think we can do bragging too in a positive way, that is to inspire newbies that there is fortune in crypto investments so they should work on it with hardwork and determination.
1407  Economy / Economics / Re: Keeping money and keeping bitcoins? are they similar? on: February 11, 2023, 09:45:28 PM
I think peoples tendencies to do things spread across all spectrums of their lives, not just when it comes to one specific thing.  For example if you're good at saving money you're probably good at saving other things as well as being dedicated and disciplined.  Most people that I know from my days of working in finance tend to bring their strong financial behaviors to all "sectors", so those clients I have that I know own bitcoin, and are good at "saving" it, tend to be good with saving money and other investments.
Probably once you’re an effective saver, be it bitcoin or fiat, you will definitely succeed in it because you have the discipline and determination to save. Because you have set a goal to earn and save now, and make profits later. So if you are good in saving money, then whatever you intend to save, you will really achieve it because you have the right attitude that you have developed even from simple saving of your extra money.
1408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching children Bitcoin is not in vain on: February 11, 2023, 09:24:38 PM
Teaching children from their 7 years old on about bitcoin is a good idea if you care for their future, but keep in mind they have to be receptive to the idea, otherwise the experience can be frustrating, what can even make them have a negative view towards bitcoin on their adulthood.

Also, it's an interesting alternative to create a wallet for your children and deposit some satoshis there every month, so futurely, once they become adults they will have a decent sum of money to start their professional lives.
They should be aware too about the risks brought by bitcoin. It could be a life changing investment but if they do it the wrong way, their experience will also turn like a roller coaster. Moreover, knowing their still kids and their way of thinking are still limited, so they should be taught first only the basics and when they become mature enough, they can already grasp the complicated part of bitcoin.
1409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The biggest casino property... on: February 11, 2023, 08:59:04 PM
$6b is only for the casino property, and just imagine how much they have in their bankroll plus the money that they should have in order to pay for the maintenance and upkeep, operating costs, and salary of all their employees. I just can't fathom how these huge casinos make that much money, but I guess there are still a lot of rich people who don't know what to do with what they have hence they end up in the casino and waste their money there.
That means the casino business is really a making huge income out from those random gamblers who might be staying for vacation or from their regular players who are mostly high rollers. I wouldn’t be surprised about that because Marina Bay Sands serves as the center of attraction in Singapore so obviously, a lot of tourists would target this place for pleasure and entertainment purposes.
1410  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the two most effective pieces of advice you could give crypto investors on: February 10, 2023, 09:38:48 PM
Never try timing the market bottom

I have tried to time the bottom in the past and failed woefully, this is impossible to target even if you are a master of the crypto charts you will always miss, the best solution to this is dollar cost averaging.

Do not fall in love with your coins

I got too attached to my coins and while they are pumping I failed to take profits, I also get too attached to a crypto platform called Celsius and they went bankrupt on me.

I know many have done one or two things wrong in the crypto space, so what's yours? Mind sharing?

1. Know your investment well so you will know how to manage and grow your investment and in times of market recession, you should know that panicking will only put your investment at risk so avoid being pressured on it.

2. Have a long term goal. That way, you can gain higher advantage from hodling your coins for years knowing it could give you so much profits if you have the courage and patience to perform it without being bothered by the outside market factors.
1411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do casino and sports betting platform owners gamble as much as other people? on: February 10, 2023, 08:40:09 PM
Farmers who have chickens for eggs especially on a large scale, easily get tired of eating the eggs from their chickens or even eggs in general. Caterers get tired of eating their own pastries, just as people who are exposed to certain produce get tired of them due to over exposure. Do you think this experience is the same for casino owners and owners of sports betting platforms?

Do you think that the owners of casinos and sports betting platform, gamble as much as other people do? If they gamble, do you think they gamble on their platform?

While they could be gambler as well, they are already businessman who owns the betting platform. They can win already without betting, I think the thought along would already satisfy them.

And they are probably this passionate about gambling that they overcome it by owning a casino itself. But sure when it comes to money, you can never be over exposed.
That’s a sure thing for casino owners as whether they gamble or not, the profits are already theirs so no need to exert more effort to gamble and win. However, I believe that those who end up putting a casino business are mostly enthusiastic about gambling, they may not be regular gamblers but they eventually know how to run a business casino and make a lot of ads and promotions so that gamblers will be more attracted to explore the casino.
1412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs of compulsive gambling on: February 10, 2023, 07:48:13 PM
The sure way to say that you have a gambling disorder is you lie about gambling. If you can't tell the truth or somehow, someway, you don't want to say it because they might think that you are an addict or something, that's already a sign that you are.
I have been observing friend of mine for the past year with gambling problem. I can honestly say that it's hard to get him to be honest about anything now especially when it comes to money. He has become terrible slotter in the past year where all his salary is no longer enough to pay off debts due to his gambling habit. He went into debt just to gamble and lose, it kept repeating itself every month and stupidly he just forgot to withdraw the winnings out of greed.

None of the wins have really covered his gambling debts and he is only working to pay off his gambling debts. It was obvious he had become compulsive on gambling and now anything to do with money would be really hard to believe.
This is not just being compulsive in gambling but definitely, a serious gambling disorder that leads to gambling addiction. Living in debt just because of gambling is most likely the worst possible scenario that could happen to a gambling addict, because it’s like he only does his job to pay for his debt, and not for him to enjoy the fruits of his labor. Although gambling could also be his kind of enjoyment, but gambling without limits and restrictions, will totally ruin his future.
1413  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Share Tips For Newbie Traders on: February 10, 2023, 06:21:19 PM
Trading can be a lonely and boring business at some point because, you do not have anyone to talk to and are just alone with your computer, phone, or tablet in your room, just trading. And many newbies may at some point think that they are probably wasting too much of their time. If you are in this situation right now, I want you to know that you are not wasting your time.

If you are an experienced trader reading this, how did you know that you were not wasting your time trading at the time when you felt this way?
There won’t be a waste of time learning and improving your trades because you know you do it on a purpose, and that purpose will eventually create a life changing experience if ever your trades end up successfully. So never gets tired trading even if it means losing on your part, but as long as you only trade at a money you can afford to lose, I don’t think it will be an issue. The only problem with trading is when you keep on committing mistakes repeatedly and yet you don’t even learn from them, so probably you will always trade at a loss which is not surprising really.
1414  Economy / Economics / Re: A steady source of income is a man's bottom line to support his family on: February 09, 2023, 10:41:20 AM

I mentioned somewhere that my closest friend has been unemployed for over a year due to the devastating collapse of his line of business and and his wife's sickness. Last time we met was a month ago and he was depressed in certain ways which worried me a lot. I called him to see if he was fine last Sunday and he told me he was looking for jobs and the next day he would go to several interviews. I was glad to hear that. Last night I called to follow up and he said the interviews were not going well. I aksed why. He told me that nowadays most companies are not doing well, barely making even actually. The interviewers would just say the job is not entitled to any insurance or benefits, what they can offer is a very low base salary and the commission part would be subject to how many sales the employee can bring to their company. My friend was not willing to take any of them because he has a family to feed and his wife's condition is unstable which could need a lot of money for surgery at any time. I understand him and am trying my best to help him find a high-pay job.

My friend's story sends me a signal: no matter how much I earn right now, try to keep my job and souce of income stable. I am also a family man and have responsibilities. Anything bad can also happen to me so I have to be prepared to the unforseen problems, although I am doing fine now. Make hay while the sun shines. If you have any advice for my friend, please let me know. Thank you.
It’s hard to find jobs that will instantly offer you a high salary especially if you are a still a newbie. You can only expect for it maybe after years of being employed once you get the promotion. So my advice for your friend is he should never decline those jobs because it’s much better to have a low paying job so you can feed your family than to never have a source of income at all. If your friend really desire to have a higher source of income, a good investment can make it possible but for an 8-hour day job, I guess all it can offer are minimum wages unless if you are working in an executive department.
1415  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My son, daughter, nephew wants to know about Bitcoin on: February 09, 2023, 08:36:58 AM
There are many legal people/police around us if they get any information about Bitcoin from the mouth of children then our elder family members will face many problems.
You shouldn't even ask such a question if you already know that Bitcoin is banned in your country and you and your family could get in trouble if authorities come to know that you trade or use Bitcoins. Everyone know that children are pure hearted and don't understand these things, so it will be a foolish thing to educate them about it as the word will surely spread faster that way since they are innocent and won't hesitate talking about it outside.

Better migrate to a country (if feasible) where you will have better life, freedom and privacy then you could think about adapting bitcoin by your entire family.
You’re right. The answer is so obvious. If you don’t want your family to get in trouble later on, then never teach the children about bitcoin and never tell them that the whole family is into bitcoin journey. But I doubt if you can control the minds of the children as they can be keen observants and totally honest on what they have been seeing around. I guess it make sense if your family want to focus on bitcoin, then better settle into a country where crypto are completely legalized and accepted as a payment option. That way, your family most particularly the children will never have to lie about the current situation.
1416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 09, 2023, 03:57:54 AM
Gambling has become an everyday thing for some people and this act has lead to serious addiction which is not good. When gambling we should understand that we are just playing for fun. Most people i know around always take gambling as a very serious issue and i have this particular friend that always complains to me how he has stopped gambling but from no where you still see him gambling again. Me myself am a sesonal gambler and i only gamble on the sport i know which is soccer, i think exploration of new gambling games you are familiar with also causes this repeated feeling of always quitting gambling. I just want to know if this phrase is common among everyone or its just he catch phrase whenever you experiences a big loss.
There's a saying about being a gambler, stays to someone's blood until he or she fully changed. We find something in gambling that makes us happy and even if we're losing, it doesn't matter. As long as we're satisfied and our cravings to gamble has been given, that's the only thing that we want to see. And to answer the question about how many times did I attempted to quit, well, they were like tons of times and I can't count them. Whenever I lose, I'll tell that I quit but tomorrow I'll be back so I'm sure that something like happens to all of us.
I guess that’s the spirit of gambling to keep our excitement and stay enthusiastic despite of the losses we endure at the end of the day. That’s the reason why gambling should be a good source of entertainment rather than to see it as another source of income. And yes, I have promised a lot of times to finally quit from gambling but look at me now, still gambling with the amount I can afford to lose. And for me that’s never an issue, as long as I’m still responsible of my losses and I still manage myself not to fall for deep addiction in gambling.
1417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am stopping for legal reasons. Is it really worth the trouble? on: February 09, 2023, 03:19:38 AM
This is what I often say about some people who do have the same desire as the OP by running their business and accepting bitcoins especially for some Nigerian friends I've seen threads on.

We still cannot fight the condition of government regulation and with this it is indeed better to avoid it than to do something that is really not really wanted which will actually backfire in the end.
Including bitcoin as a payment option is a good thing but the problem with regulation and government policy remains that it will be very difficult to do.
Unless you want to be reported and become a target of the government, you will keep on accepting bitcoin payment despite of the fact that bitcoin is being banned. Although there’s no wrong accumulating more bitcoin as for your own investment, but using it as a currency will not be worth the risk since the government will surely have to keep their eyes on you. So just learn to avoid the consequences so you can live at peace.
1418  Economy / Economics / Re: Is renting an inevitable waste of money? on: February 06, 2023, 08:28:46 PM
A rent to own or a loan that will give you a house right after you paid it, is a good decision. Renting a house forever will cost you a lot, and it is only for temporary. The disadvantage of it is that not every single time is you have money, and once you didn't pay the rent, you're living in the street and you don't want that to happen. Saving is also another option, then buy a house and lot.
Both are good as long as you are able to complete the payment in due time, as there is always a contract for that when to be considered fully paid. However, I find it more convenient to just find a rent to own house as you can immediate live in it the moment you start renting, although it’s quite more expensive than to buy a house and lot from taking the loaned money.
1419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the origins of provably fair technology in gambling? on: February 06, 2023, 07:56:15 PM
As far I know, provably fair technology in crypto gambling is simply the application of cryptography/hash functions onto an specific market or purpose, so one can verify the gambling results in a trust-less way. The theory behind it is not actually new.

I am not sure what the first platform that started this trend was, though.
Yes, it’s actually done through a robust encryption. This provably fair technology helps to create more game transparency and its game integrity that’s why crypto gambling has its constant feature of this provably fair technology. This is also the reason why these provably fair casinos are more reliable than those traditional online casinos as games have more assurance that they are not rigged and are very transparent.
1420  Economy / Gambling / Re: Positive Gambling Quotes for 2023! on: February 06, 2023, 07:26:14 PM
If so, maybe this quote can be a reminder for us:

"If you find it hard to leave gambling, maybe you are already experiencing gambling addiction, leave immediately before it's too late."
And it's too late until someone realizes that he or she is already addicted to gambling. Yeah, this is a good quote to remind everyone of us that we have to control ourselves or else, we're too late in realizing that we're no longer the old us.

This website is composed of many gambling quotes and it includes the person who said it, pay a visit if you want.

https://www.therandomvibez.com/gambling-quotes-and-sayings-for-all-gamblers/
I guess this quote is easy to say but actually hard to do when you are experiencing gambling addiction. Once you’re into it, you cannot leave it immediately, but rather you would have experienced more losses and failures before you can say enough for all of these. But I believe for you to be able to overcome gambling addiction, you should gain more self-discipline and set your own limits in gambling. Never gamble to chase more of your luck and to chase more profits, that will only lead to suffer from gambling addiction.
