1421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: June 08, 2016, 06:50:25 PM
I finally got Claymore running on ubuntu 14 sense i don't like using windows any version to mine with because i use a lot of PI's any type. and SSH it''s a lot easier for me.

Sense awesome now supports eth mining no windows miners for me my eth rig is ubuntu based and i can see it with awesome as a headless rig with no keyboards mouse or monitor needed .

Question can awesome miner show what I'm doing on the pool not the adjustment speeds i mean BFG show three speeds

388.1/415.5/180.4Mh/   awesome is showing my AvG speed as 388 MH when it's actually 180 MH if that make sense is there a setting or  some thing i need to adjust with Awesome to show the AvG speed I'm doing on the pool ? . i think I'm asking right . this is for my Alchemist 256 Scrypt miner i do scrypt, sha256 and Eth mining.

Finally got  this working on Ubuntu 14 after a few days of learning and reading id rather use Ubuntu then windows 10 or any version of windows it seems to mine better under Linux Smiley.

Watch  Zoomhash they allways seems to get stock of any new miners all most the same day there released.

if you don't have it like thy said you for sure you need screen https://www.gnu.org/software/screen/, i didn't read the post fully this time but screen is a must have to do what you want to.
1426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Raspberry Pi on: June 07, 2016, 11:24:22 PM
Do you know if the minera image file on other website work on the pi?

Doubt it. To begin, there's Moonlander-specific code in that repository and so any old miner won't help you. Additionally, normal Linux software that's compiled won't run on a Pi (platform-independent languages such as Python or Java may depending on other software factors). I strongly encourage using the official moonlander code that I linked.

There are some reports of working status on the pi http://unix.mm5aes.net/?p=minera-build-with-fururebit-moonlander-support! Does anyone know for sure?

that hub should work and sense the Moonlander is actually a Alchemist chip you can use minera i do with my Alchemist 256 and a PI and USB 3 hub and not the controller it came with. and any PI type should work just use BFG in the custom folder in minera with any PI type, your set . in a July release the DEV of minera told me hes rewriting Minera making it work  with all most anything and more lightweight .so we may see minera with a windows version and able to mine eth out of the box i do mean out of the box unlike some others have claimed with there eth software miners, minera has all ways been built with that intention . to be very user friendly but yet for the advanced user as well.

or USE BFG by it self without Minera on any PI type not just raspberry ,  i know that will work https://archive.litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=28691.0

Just got a rmail from Avalon asking me how things are going and that the Avalon 7 is due out soon no release date .now all we need is a price war between bitmain Avalon and BW it seems all three will have miners out soon so i guess you all may want to hold off buying S9 . as for bitfury looks like a pipe dream .
1429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I feel like buying a 28 MH/s LTC Miner on: June 06, 2016, 08:35:04 PM
Alchemists has been fixed and works on any pool i try it on it just works no questions asked and it is built like tank but can get hot even with a lot of air flow but it has to have jat updated firm ware flashed to each board and that only works with BFG 5.1 i think on and works on any kind of PI controller as long as you get the right bfg update but it runs solid it's sister is the Excalibur which you can't find any place we all know why. that company was a a ripe off  and made just enough miners to ripe off millions. but the Excalibur is like the A2 Alchemists etc runs like a tank and there are very few who got one and won't sell it. the company that made the Alchemists went bankrupt shortly after they said they were making a miner that would be = to the A4 and had a upgrade path for for the older scypt miners like Zeus mainly to use there heat sinks and was even tried to some extent i read some place just not sure what happen.  now  jstefanop the guy that wrote the updated  firmware for the Alchemists has access to BW chips and wants to make a miner for the old platfroms like side hack does for home use but jstefanop also likes scrypt miners and maybe putting out some kind A4 chip USB stick maybe even miners for home use i may be wrong on the miners part he is under NDA for BW im also guessing with . Innosilicon why he won't say to much on the  A4 chips but does have some sample BW BTC chips is under NDA but is for the small guy aka home miners as is side hack but side only likes or wants to make btc miners . if i made some miss info it is only because i misunderstood some stuff but other wise I'm pretty much on the money .
1430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I feel like buying a 28 MH/s LTC Miner on: June 06, 2016, 03:03:25 AM
The Alchemist and titan are better then the A2 but are harder to buy the titan is harder to buy then the Alchemist the Alchemist is only better if it has the updated firmware on each board it can work off of PI's and the controller its comes with.!!! don't get me wrong if i could get a A2 id buy one in a heartbeat but every time i find one at a reason able price i miss out so i guess im not meant to have one.

but what makes A2 better is the company that makes it still makes them or a new one is coming out sometime this summer from them and you need the up dated firmware on the Alchemist to make it better. the A2 will still be very useful after the a4 comes .

don't pay any more then 150 for a 28 MH miner to me that's to much it still makes a profit but will take forever to do RoI if that's a worry or may never. I have a Alchemist 256 and a 25 mh miner both can still make a profit but the 25 MH is so low I don't plan to make a thing worth while, it all depends on power cost.

Id do eth it's faster cash atm and much cheaper to do .unless your ready to shell out at least  700 to 1200 for a A2 even more for a Alchemist and even more for a titan.

Forgot there is only one company that makes Scrypt miners now and that's is . Innosilicon http://www.innosilicon.com/A2.htm which is good for Scrypt mining there may not be another company to make any at this point but Innosilicon also does't make just miniers either which is good over btc miners makers so Innosilicon will be king for ever . or you can buy a x11 miner but i wouldn't it only does x11  type coins and totally destroyed x11 mining with GPU.

good to see you got it running off the PI.  to bad you live in Spain the shipping would kill that deal or id offer for the one with the working controller then PI it

you can't cross fire but if your mining as far as i know you can't or there is no way or need to, but using  crossfire you can't really mix them they have to be the same gen type . not sure thu if Nvida can mix with AMD to mine i read some place you can .Ive only mixed with AMD so far.
1433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Just Killed Nvidia on: June 05, 2016, 09:07:04 PM
I all ready said they would in another posts a week or so a ago and next Nvidia  will top that it goes on on  cat and mouse time . but it seems to fall in AMD favor when the smoke clears and then it starts all over , amd and intel about to go at it maybe this time amd wins which is dreaming Intel has to much money but it's fun to watch.. and Corsair is coming out with there own GPU i guess there water cooling stuff paid off enough to take the risk ...

Where is place or website if i will buy it after the product has be realised?

There  is links all over the webb with a release date but i can't fine any site posting as out of stock yet like new egg dies most of the time . here is one review

Your pleas will fall on deaf ears, as this is primarily my project and I've never cared about scrypt ASICs. Maybe someone will extend it someday, but I'm really only interested in SHA256 miners.

Too bad....because scrypt miners are just killing it on LTC right now.....(19 months with Titans and still making bucko bucks)

then again...all asic's will be 'doorstops's eventually don't ya know so maybe it don't matter hobby project wise.

That's only because NO ONE HAS MADE ANOTHER MINER to compete with yours, unlike in BTCland(where even the makers compete with customers) !!!! Be grateful !!!!

Personally I think Bitmain(& Avalon) is the last hoorah for home miners,Bitfury will succumb to the greed & keep the chips/miners to themselves as long as they can,if they even exist  Roll Eyes

Yeah I agree...but if anyone makes a miner...scrypt seems a bit more nimble imho on the whole difficulty exploding thing.

Would sure help you ethereum miners (and turn me to one to) if the folk developing ethereum would say ..er never mind we decided to have it stay a pow coin and not go pos..
the problem with that happy dream is as soon as they were to really seem to be gonna do so..someone would make an asic chip for such.

But yeah 19 months and my Titans are still killing it is utterly confusing and probably 'wrong' if there are asic morals on so many levels...I'm utterly befuddled myself on wth is going on.

They will doorstop someday...but they have a whole 'knc we are evil vampire hard to kill' kinda thing going on at the moment

(probably should make an ethereum rig for a toy but alas I think that may soon pass due to difficulty increases on that network or am I mis-informed)

home mining ..the addiction..the movie.....the book ..the play....Smiley

isn't it  awesome even my Alchemist 256 i have 5 blades online is getting a killing  i want more power and am about to put two more blades online and donating one blade to a school so they can learn about  coins hands on . my eth rig right now is two cards but im about to make it 6 and yea i wish the S9 was a little cheaper id get one but may  get one or two s7 now they will drop even lower or one or two A6's . there is a reason i won't do much more for now , i won't get into here . even if the difficulty increase it won't be as bad as bitcoins because eth  runs off of gpu's, some place i read is paying wages in ETH now, so it's here to stay.

i got it up and running, it run there for a few hours according to my PC's cmd shared were accepted etc but nothing showed in my account for eth  and i toggled to the eth account i think it's my ISP and them  had the same issue year ago with antpool and my s5's they ended up giving me a more friendly US ip till it was fixed .which has sense been fixed kind of  i can login  and mine on antpool with all there posts but one  that's  port:25 is dead all most all ways . or works but nothing ever comes thu the other ports for btc work fine now, the issue is with eth now so ill wait.

It requires only GPU for mining ETH? or are there any ASIC for altcoins as well?
I think only GPU's can mine eth.. but i heard that theres a scrypt miner that can mine ethereum.. didnt know if this is true or not..
Just like grid seed http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=scrypt+miner

one way to find out try it , it won't, eth is not a scrypt algorithm it's called Dagger-Hashimoto algorithm whole new way of mining that's actually pretty sweet and cool to do x11 is a scrypt algorithm kind of  that's why they were able to make a miner for it.we may never see a ASIC miner for eth maybe some other kind Down the road but no ASIC miners or i hope we don't .it's takes a lot of the fun away. to have the big guys come in and rune it .
1438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ethOS - Ethereum Mining Platform on: June 01, 2016, 11:44:12 PM
just bought it , once i figure it out it might be awesome but to say it's ready to go out of box is very miss leading if it was there would be some kind of pop up asking me to input my pool info but i figured that,  instead you have edit files find out were they all are so it's not that easy to set up which is fine i will have it down in a hour or so, it's for my 2 card open frame rig soon to be 6 it is better then win 7 or 10, everything is there it is all in one that's true but to say boot up and mine there is a lot more to it then that or it's ready out the box it's not, it takes a little learning which i like.

how do i get my free ssd i did not want to wait so I bought the download and either should get the ssd or some kind discount for buying the download...

got it hashing on DwarfPool seems the work package is needed and not in the image  but it's hashing now .

show miner  showed me just what was going on

Thank Toptek,

I'll keep this in mind!

I recall receiving a message pool 0 or 1 is not misbehaving restarting 'something like this' that gets rid of red message!
But this is happening quite frequently but I guest that's normal!

Few questions:
While mining DGB, how new blocks being found?
I never understood this and will be great know in my case while using gridseed units

Also while using mimera:
I am just about getting a new RPI and I got that image!
Is it possible running bfgminer while connected via putty, I mean without going through GUI?

If I need using sudo, I trust you can tell me!
Assuming we can, can you give me those command strings as we usually do in windows?
Also do tell where bfgminer executable is!
Once inside, I can easely using "screen" so I wouldn't loose process while terminating SSH session
I know how to attach and other instructions.

I have mining monitor using android emulator and I thing that's quite suffiscient!

try

Code:
com:port_num/#xnsub#skipcbcheck
for  red message!

While mining DGB, how new blocks being found?  sorry atm that one i can't explain maybe some else can.
Is it possible running bfgminer while connected via putty, I mean without going through GUI? yes how are you doing it now ? .
sudo is required i can tell what to edit so you can log in as root with SSH so you won't ever have to use sudo but that may get me yelled at, it's a safely thing .

minera does put some of that in so sudo is not required as much . but you can use root this way which is safe
Code:
sudo su
that will put a pi that is login on as  user mode into root mode till you reboot the system.

also kind of lost windows with ssh no need unless it's on a PI all ssh does is let a windows based OS use a Linux based system remotely or use it like it's a  windows box remotely but it's safer, same thing with winscp i linked it puts it in a windows user frame of mind with a windows gui .

this is very useful https://winscp.net/eng/index.php it lets you do all kinds of thing with windows you can't do other wise !,

bfgminer on a Linux based system kind of has no .exe as you know it. we may be getting a little to off topic now ...

try this link for some of those  off topic questions https://www.raspberrypi.org/ I'm not trying to pass the buck or be a jerk by not answering some question but in a way somethings i can't without being at risk kind of my self and some thing are best learned solo . but if i know it and know it won't hurt anyone i'm  all ways glad to help.

I have few questions:

If all pools are dead then why does bfgminer still list works as accepted and what is abount coinbase chreck as seen on image:

How to deal with coinbase check?

Code:
/#skipcbcheck
after the port number like this
Code:
-o stratum+tcp://pool1:port/#skipcbcheck

this link https://www.nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=software#scrypt  explains in more detail and it works with anything that needs it not just titan miners.

there not dead if it's a multi mining pool or a pool that's mines more then one coin aka alt coin mining pool  it's  switching to a more profitable coin on it list of coins to mine.
that's the best way i can think of to explain it, that's normal for a alt coin mining pool . if you mine on a pool that only does one type of coin you shouldn't ever see that or i haven't yet  Mining nothing but ltc or btc direct. like here for ltc https://www.litecoinpool.org/ btc https://www.antpool.com/home.htm those are just examples as far as i know those two pools don't mine alt coins they mine the real thing but it can be more profitable mining alt coins with low end gear Smiley, and that pool auto sell it for you .
