1441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is mass adoption or/and regulation more likely to reduce volatility? on: May 29, 2023, 11:51:45 PM
In a scenario wheee everyone has a bitcoin, and they all use said bitcoins they own for transactions, effectively circulating the supply and fostering a currency-type economy, there is a huge possibility that bitcoin’s price will stabilize, but it must be said that this will also dump the value of bitcoin by a huge margin. There’s also the discussion of regulation which will definitely play its part when the topic of global adoption is raised. Still, it’s gonna take a long time for this to even warrant discussion, as it stands today bitcoin is valuable not for its currency nature, but for the fact that it is used by many to gain profits, so not only is bitcoin’s volatility rate really essential in rhe growth of the cryptocurrency king, but also its massive kryptonite.

I guess that blew her patience for not telling his winning, so he threaten that he should stop gambling or they part ways, my friend choose his wife so he cannot play until he can convince his wife and promise her to tell her if he won big. Cheesy

How about you have you been threatened by your wife, your girlfriend, or your parents, if so tell us your story.
all my life, only my parents could threaten me to stop gambling even though in the end I returned to gambling after previously making promises to my parents

Over time, I have become more and more convinced that it is we ourselves who can change and direct our lives, as long as we can control our gambling habits then why should we stop gambling!!
I mean, if intervention was necessary to even have you consider stopping from gambling, then maybe something is really wrong with you, and I would've wished you did something in the past that will make sure you don't get back to gambling again but at the very least you knew the error of your ways and are now (I hope) making sure that you gamble responsibly, if not discontinue gambling at all. Realization is the first step towards successfully changing yourself, it's not necessarily going to be the definition of your success cause it's a long way from that but at the very least you got there already.

Let this be known, that if your spouse/relatives are already concerned about your gambling habits, then it most likely is really somethign that is dire no matter how much you downplay it. Have yourself checked and stop gambling altogether. Save yourself and the people around you the trouble of losing a valuable person from gambling addiction.
1443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: increased Youtube Gambling ads? on: May 29, 2023, 10:32:57 PM
This is why I use incognito when I search for something or watch YouTube videos but I forget it sometimes so, I typically browse with the normal browsers that have cache/cookies recorded on them, and then eventually, I'll get to see the ads, and videos related to what I've most recently watched.
They may not be related to gambling ads but the most recent videos or searches that we do is what they'll throw us with the ads that they have.

Obviously the more you avoid such content the lesser you will view related advertising.
Avoid typing keywords that are related to the ads that you're annoying or when you do, use incognito or browsers that don't have these ads. There are browsers that are helpful when it's to these ad-blocking features. Or if not, download those adblockers for your sake to avoid these ads coming out to your browser.
Incognito browsing is great for the most part since it keeps your cookies from being traced (cookies are basically what they call 'internet trackers' which are the tiny bits of data that tells the site a lot about the user), but it still doesn't shield you from the gambling ads altogether. The best way you could really rid yourself of these pesky advertisements is through the use of ad blockers which they themselves blocks all ads, saving you the trouble of ever worrying about getting cut off from that stuff you're watching on Youtube by some unrelated advertisement. Plus using an ad blocker also disallows these sites from getting your cookies, and since you don't need to go incognito your search history is saved, which is especially helpful for people who tend to go back and forth on some sites and pages.
1444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you handle long shot bets? on: May 29, 2023, 09:38:01 PM
I have this kind of problem ever since I started online gambling. I’m always bored playing same bet amount while my bankroll just keep coming back and fort to my initial bank roll.

The real problem starts when I’m on a long losing streak with same bet amount let's say 5 win streak. My mind set change from relax gambling to chasing loss. Even after I recover my loss, I bet already in abnormal pattern so that I can earn profit in a fast way. I always conclude my mistake after gambling. I keep repeating this cycle. My gambling time only ended up if I’m on profit big time or 100% loss my bankroll. I don’t know but it’s very hard for to quit gambling when my bankroll is at loss or on a little bit profit.

Anyone here is successful doing a long shot bet? A point were you can be satisfied without considering your bankroll status and just pure fun on gambling experience?
I'd be a hypocrite if I say those kinds of losses didn't get to me back then. Way back then, I'm betting religiously so to speak. I only bet 1% of my bankroll to make sure that I have more games to play. The stress of losing a lot and winning a little will get to you really. So I tried doing the Martingale strat (you double your bet after every subsequent loss to make sure that your wins cover your losses). Until I realize that I don't have that hefty of a bankroll to carry on the strat after a few plays. It might work for you especially if you have a bigger pot, but for regular players this will never be the long shot solution they are looking for.

This was until I found out about just moving on. Sometimes losses can't really be recovered no matter how much games you play, and no matter how big your bag is to support your Martingale strategy. The best thing to do sometimes is to just quit while you still have something to keep, and then carry on the next day. It has saved me tons of money, and altogether allowed me to stay sane and safe from gambling addiction. I know this is not the conventional tip you're really looking for but it's better than belligerently wasting all your bankroll on one go.
1445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Allow To Undergo Hypnosis If A Professional Recommend To Cure Gambling on: May 29, 2023, 08:52:24 PM
I think hypnotic therapy is a thing even from way back then. It's a real thing and the body can really be induced subconsciously by means of sleep. It's just that the media severely tarnished the craft by involving it and colluding it with the supernatural, sometimes even connecting it with past life regressions so you can see your ancestors or who you were before you became you. Although I myself judge the credibility of such therapy only because I am really a "to see is to believe" kind of guy, but if given the chance to involve myself with such recovery methods, I will mostly for the hell of it, just to see what it's all about. and if in the event it did not work, and I'm still addicted, at least I tried it you know!
1446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crazy Sports Betting Idea on: May 28, 2023, 08:06:54 PM
Below is a list of Premier League 2022-23: Managers who were sacked this season1
  • Brendan Rodgers, Leicester City
  • Graham Potter, Chelsea
  • Antonio Conte, Spurs
  • Patrick Vieira, Crystal Palace
  • Nathan Jones, Southampton
  • Jesse Marsch, Leeds
  • Frank Lampard, Everton
  • Ralph Hasenhüttl, Southampton
  • Steven Gerrard, Aston Villa
  • Bruno Lage, Wolverhampton Wanderers
  • Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea
  • Scott Parker, Bournemouth

This is just the premier league only, there are other managers who were sacked in the other leagues. So I was thinking, isn't there a way to bet on managers who will most likely be fired by their club management before the season ends judging based on their performance?

At least sport bettors should have the pleasure of making these kind of bets too. I know it sounds crazy but that's what has been on my mind. Do you think it is feasible? Do you think sports bookies will incorporate this type of betting?

1. https://khelnow.com/football/2023-02-world-football-premier-league-2022-23-managers-sacked-this-season
That is funny and I hope something like this could come up in the future on most sportsbook. As of now I don't think there's any (and I mean that as in me checking over the three bookies I mostly frequent in nowadays) so it's a big bummer but if something like this did come up you'd bet I will always place a bet on it lmao. In any case, it's purely situational too, it's not like every season a manager's getting fired for poor performance so it's a little hard to make out the details and the formalities if such a betting game will be made.

I think for now this type of bet would have to stay exclusively among couch watch parties. There's no real guidelines for it just yet for when there are no managers to fire for that season, plus other stuff that will be harder to discern.
1447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a Gambler and a Die-Hard Fan of a Club Would you Bet Against your Club on: May 28, 2023, 07:03:39 PM

As a gambler and a die-hard fan of a club that has been having a terrible season, would you bet against your club, knowing that their loss would be your financial gain? Or would you stay loyal and not bet against them?

You're not getting a lot if you're betting against your favorite team where you are a die-hard, so I'll just skip it and just cheer for your favorite team there will be times when my favorite team will build up so I can continue betting for them if you're betting against them it's like betraying your loyalty to the team, you are not a die-hard fan in a real sense, you're just a casual fan.
If it's just for the money and entertainment, I don't think there's something wrong with betting against your favorite team. There are a lot of benefits to it too! The mere fact that it allows you to stay grounded and not embody being a die-hard fan of your team is already a big plus that will save you a lot of upfront discussions against other die-hards. Plus the indispensable advantage of knowing what your team can and cannot do is also in your hands, allowing you to make a clearer judgement on whether the team they will be playing against is good or not.

lastly, if the enemy does win the loss of your favorite team wouldn't hurt that much! Cause at least you got money from it! So it's not like you're not getting much from this ordeal, in fact you're getting a lot from just deciding to bet against your favorite team.
1448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An Intriguing article: How to Perfect Your Gambling Strategy on: May 28, 2023, 05:43:00 PM
I stumble on an article[1] while browsing the net and I think of sharing it here because I find it intriguing when it gives an instruction on perfecting one's gambling strategy.  To cut it short, here is the advice stated in that article:

The article suggested that one should Develop a style and stick with it.  For those who do not know how the list below can give you a hint.
  • Choose a game
  • Create a logical system
  • Record the data of the bet
  • Try the demo of the game to practice
  • Do bankroll management
  • Make sure that you have enough money for gambling(play only what you can afford to lose)
  • Put a limit to losses
  • Listen to the advice of the winning pros
  • Focus on our bet
  • Learn to accept losses
  • Know when to quit.

You can check the explanation on the link below

Now, many of us think that there is no perfect strategy for gambling due to the fact that most gambling results are random and that we don't have any control over the result of our session.  I agree with that and I see the list above as minimizing losses and/or avoiding severe losses during our gambling activities. This might be a good suggestion to follow for those who have problems with their gambling losses.  I also think that the given instruction is far from being a perfect gambling strategy to win a session but it is good enough to follow to keep us from losing too much money.

The last two (10 and 11) on the list are the key to keeping us from chasing losses and being addicted to gambling.  I believe gambling isn't a simple matter and it needs a lot of preparation and understanding to avoid bad consequences, not saying, it also requires a lot of self-discipline to keep us in check.

So what do you think about the list of instructions stated by the article, are they good enough to keep a person to have an edge against the gambling platform?

[1] https://ftnnews.com/other-news/44458-how-to-perfect-your-gambling-strategy

Smart. I would agree with these guidelines on how to perfect your strat. But honestly it's less about perfecting your strategies to win more games, and more about protecting your wins from losses. They don't really divulge on what techniques to use and what bets to make, which I think is good because there's no surefire way of winning really, especially when it comes to games of chance. So the most that you can do for yourself, is to ensure that all the wins you took are intact, and you are not addicted to gambling.

Most people may downplay this guide cause it doesn't really have any particular strategy or technique that will help them win games but I would argue that losing less is much better than winning more when it comes to gambling and betting. And this is just the perfect guide for it.

Ivan Toney placed 13 historical bets on his own club to lose and has been diagnosed with a gambling addiction, as the written reasons for his eight-month ban were revealed by the FA.
https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12889780/ivan-toney-brentford-striker-diagnosed-with-gambling-addiction-as-fa-release-written-reasons-into-eight-month-ban

The consequence of betting addiction are so huge that it not only affects the individual but also impacts everything around them. Besides having a bad reputation, and facing ban, Ivan's career is already over.  Although there are critics of the ban by the FA, in my opinion, it doesn't hold any water. The deed has been done, and even if they overturn their judgement one thing is sure; he has a gambling problem. It is already out there and will be there forever.

As you are reading this, it's quite common for many of us to have a friend or family member similar to Ivan. How did you become aware that your friend is struggling with gambling addiction, and what actions have you taken to help them to over it?

Haven't had a relative that got addicted to gambling but I do see a pattern with these people that are afflicted with that disorder. They seem to downplay it at first, seeing every additional game as "another more for fun" or "just one more to equal out my losses", from then on it would snowball into something more severe, as one more game becomes two more, then three, and so on. Intervention at this stage will prove to be very difficult as most of them deny they even had the problem in the first place. But it is most necessary that they get it as early as possible anyway.

Things will escalate to something worse and before they know it, they are already hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, their family and kids leaving them because of the addiction, and at this point these addicts will have no choice but to carry on with the addiction.

If you are seeing this and you are having second thoughts reading this comment, whether you are really an addict or not, you might wanna have yourself checked. 9 times out of 10 you are, and you just don't know it yet.
1450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you blame someone for your gambling losses? on: May 28, 2023, 04:18:19 PM
Looks like there's was a compromise in that judgement and judicial partiality played out here ,someone gambled away 5.6 million and where asked to pay 150,000 only ,too small when compared with the amount of money being gambled away despite being given 7 years of imprisonment. They're hold with two count charge here, criminal offense and false allegation. The state of this guys greediness was in the high place. Both persons might be two gamble addicts and should
have allowed to undergo some psychological evaluation to know their mental status.
I guess it's all about how much they could pay at the moment given their financial status and all that. I've seen cases like this before (not gambling-related but money is still involved between relatives) and they are not really keen on putting charges that are beyond what the accused could pay. So it just makes sense, at least to me. Plus the 7 year charge I think was more than enough punishment considering how much money the prison's gonna make off of them.

They are definitely gambling addicts already, psychological evaluation could only lead to plead for insanity or something like that, which will prolong this case.
1451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: May 26, 2023, 11:28:52 PM

Famz, drop your opinion on this, would you categorize these two as gambling? Because the only winning factor from Bitcoin investment is to just buy low and wait for a high price, it's not the same with casinos. Am I not making sense? I will like to hear from you.
Gambling and investing are two completely different things. But for these two things you must go with the principle of losing money. Still we know that gambling is a totally luck based platform if you are lucky you can win from gambling platform. But in most cases, chances of losing in gambling will be high. Investment, on the other hand, is a trustworthy and less risky business than gambling. If you have losses after investing, you can hope for recovery. There you can never be disappointed that your money is disappearing all at once. So from here we can consider the difference.
Exactly my point. I've made a previous comment regarding this topic and I'm surprised this is still going on, perhaps because to some people the difference between gambling and trading isn't as apparent as they wanted it to be. Regardless, these two can't be looped in the same boat since trading is centered around yielding profits by studying the market, gathering disciplines and knowledge bases that will help you get there, as well as the fact that there's just a higher margin of profit for trading than gambling. Gambling on the other hand takes no skill, is centered around entertainment and shouldn't be used as a substitute for ways to get a profit, and most of all is a very risky ordeal, with potentials of you losing more money than you had when you first gambled being higher.
1452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why choosing instant withdrawal casinos on: May 26, 2023, 10:24:02 PM
Because it's way more convenient to choose fast-paced options than have yourself wait for something that you could've gotten right then and there.

Apart from the convenience, these are other reasons:

  • Helps people control their gambling urges by ensuring that they won't have to wait anymore for their money to come into their wallets.
  • Builds trust within the network of casinos and users, given the fact that they are giving their users their money, as early as possible
  • You'd be able to enjoy your wins immediately without having to wait for days just for a couple hundred dollars, if it's more than that it's manageable and understandable but for lower remunerations it's just inconvenient to wait for longer
  • It's way safer that way. With instant withdrawals you'd be informed right away if the process didn't go through, with delayed withdrawals it may take days or sometimes weeks for you to realize that something's wrong, by that time you're most likely toast cause these casinos have certain timeframes where you can only dispute of your payments.
1453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: May 26, 2023, 09:45:27 PM
Those people could never learn from that misconception, instead would still gamble and try to make money. They really don't realize what they are doing is wrong and need to fix it before becoming a full-blown gambling addiction.

And for those who don't agree with us, we can never make them see the difference because they will stick with it without wanting to change it or accept it. And we can only let them be like that and see the reality that will happen later.
Realization is a very rare thing and only a few people got it in them, and gamblers, they mostly lack this ability to realize what they are getting themselves into until they are totally sunk into the addiction and have almost spent everything they may have had back in the day, realizing things that late doesn't really work or has no essence at all.

There is basically nothing you can do to make someone realize their mistakes unless they have it in their heart as well, otherwise, no matter how hard you try, you will only be wasting your time and theirs as well.
Realization isn't necessarily rare. It comes to everyone, especially people that have succumbed to gambling addiction. The problem is that it only ever comes to these kinds of people when everything's too late and they have already lost everything. Their money, their family, their friends, etc. And even then when they have already known that it's gambling that has brought them to this point in their lives, they wouldn't have the courage to stop, either because they are punishing themselves over the fact that they ruined their lives, or because of gambler's fallacy and sunk-cost fallacy which makes them go back to the gig "to take their losses back eventually" which is just not going to happen, some even go so far as to commit suicide when they find out that they've ruined everything and they start to think that there's no way they are getting out of this pickle.
1454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a Gambler and a Die-Hard Fan of a Club Would you Bet Against your Club on: May 26, 2023, 09:13:45 PM
We are fans of different football clubs, and whenever there is football banter, we never fail to take sides with our respective clubs. We stand by them no matter what because that's what being a fan of a football club is all about - unwavering loyalty. However, not all of our favorite clubs perform well. A typical case study is Chelsea, who have had one of their worst performances this season, currently occupying the 11th position. The challenges they have faced this season are unlike any other. Just last night, they were brutally defeated by Manchester United, who showed them no mercy, to the extent that they didn't even celebrate one of their goals.

As a gambler and a die-hard fan of a club that has been having a terrible season, would you bet against your club, knowing that their loss would be your financial gain? Or would you stay loyal and not bet against them?
Betting against them doesn't necessarily equate to me as relinquishing my liking to them. So I think I would be able to take a bet that is against them if given the chance, especially if as you said, the team that I am a fan of is not particularly performing well on the league. I could understand these people who are superfans of certain teams because way back then I was one but as time passes by and as you delve deeper in the gambling industry you'd soon find out that it doesn't really matter. All that does is that play with the winners. But if you're a fan of the sport and a die-hard follower of one team, with no particular affiliation with gambling or whatnot, you'd definitely find yourself being more on the side of staying loyal to your team of choosing, most of the time it's your hometown's team but you do you.
1455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i make 100 $ daily from online casinos on: May 25, 2023, 11:45:50 PM
Some gamblers are so greedy and inconsiderate enough that they think anything they thought of is what they can achieve even while they perform less, they will still expect better and much result, this are the kinds of gamblers that goes extra way by far in taking alternative decisions to get money if what they planned for didn't work in gambling, no fix income in gambling except you're rendering a service that you get paid on a regular basis, but while gambling, you take a whole lot of effort to win and you can't predict what might come after, this is one of the uncertainties with gambling.
Every gambler at some point is that. It just takes time for them to be hit by the massive reality check that not everything is going to be optimal and they'd lose more games than they'd expect. Which is why I only ever tell people to gamble for entertainment, and anything more than that is going to cost them a lot in the future. OP still is a little naive if I do say so myself and in time he'd realize that there's no way in god's green earth he'd be able to cash in consistently 100 bucks from a day's worth of gambling.
1456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Crypto coin Do You Gamble with the Most? on: May 25, 2023, 10:59:34 PM
I think I don't have a preference on what coin I'm gonna gamble with. Most of the time I just find myself gambling with whatever coin the casino accepts. USDT seems to be the staple around most crypto-casinos so I use it a little more often. But then again I'm not one to pick favorites on which money I want to burn. Although of course, if given the chance I would never spend my bitcoin on gambling. Just something about the cryptocurrency titan itself that makes me not want to spend it. Perhaps because of the fact that it's most consistently-profitable coin in the market for 10+ years now and spending it triggers something in my brain that almost equates to "losing out on your chance to bag a bigger profit all because you wanted to play in the casino".

1457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: May 25, 2023, 07:12:01 PM

Ryan Garcia has a new trainer already,

https://www.britishboxingnews.co.uk/blogs/ryan-garcia-begins-training-with-derrick-james

And as what has been mentioned, it's Derrick James the trainer of Errol Spence Jr. And obviously we can see in the picture that maybe they are still already working. We have heard about the Spence Jr. Vs Bud Crawford fight so most likely this could be true as again pictures circulating already that Ryan is on the camp on board and might be introduce by James himself to the fighters he is trainer. But then again, it's the whole attitude of Ryan than can make the big difference.

I agree with that, it's still his attitude that will allow him to enhance his fighting skills, with a new trainer and a new set of people to
work on keeping moving forward after that loss.

Nothing to judge for now as we are waiting for the next update if he will have another money fight or if he will again find a cherry pick fighter to hype his name.

Something that we will need to wait, whether that change in training partners will benefit him or not.

Hopefully it is for the better this time because Ryan Garcia's talent will just be put to waste if he will not do anything to address his own issue that he himself created, he could've been among the top names right now if he have the dedication to be among those lists. Moreover, he already have the people needed for him to develop his skills and to be a much greater boxer than what he is previously, all what's needed to do is his presence and dedication to change for the better.
He has the potential and the ability to make it to the big leagues (I would even argue that he is already in the big leagues considering we are talking about him) but that attitude of wanting to always be in the spotlight has to go. It's one thing to love being a star and a celebrity because well, it's a secret dream that most of us wanted to achieve at some point in our lives but at the same time him skipping out on important affairs like training just so he can appear more in the camera is just going to cause him to lose more fights in the future. It may even be seen as him slacking off or "damaged" after the fight with Tank but he definitely needs to change his attitude and bring his enthusiasm to the game that made him famous in the first place.
1458  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using ToS against users normal? on: May 25, 2023, 06:16:16 PM
AFAIK many casinos aren't notifying their gamblers when they've updated their terms, but I think a legit casino will notifying their users when a big change happen. Changing the terms against the gambler who's won big amount money isn't nothing new in new casino, they will give an excuse if their casino is still new and it's normal if they might adjust their terms due to development.
And this is why you should only play with reputable casinos. The mere changes in their Terms of Services could easily be taken against you when the time comes. And you can't take them to court either cause the ToS is going to hold up well in the proceedings, leaving you penniless in the process of finding justice and lost too. So it's just better to not take chances when it comes to picking casinos or bookies, it's much better to put your business into entities and companies that are reliable, and have been in the industry for years with good reputation.
1459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Think Casinos Should Do Survey From Time To Time To Assess You. on: May 24, 2023, 10:25:51 PM
How will a "Survey" help to prevent those actions?

Most people lie on surveys, so you are not getting accurate data from those surveys. The ToS specifically restrict certain countries from playing on those sites, so people are not just breaking the rules that are stated in the ToS, but they are breaking the local laws of their country.

So, if people stick to the rules, then situations like this will be prevented. The sites must just make sure that the users specifically acknowledge that they have read the ToS and that they will abide by it.

I see Stake.com have recently forced people to "tick" that they have read the ToS, before they can enter the site.  Wink

Survey to me is nothing but a waste of time because of the work load that would be lay on you and the stress and time taken before it ended, yet it's not encoura by any means because it's not a measure good enough to tackle gamblers into a good moral conducts, passing through survey will make them loose interest in gambling on a particular gambling platform, gamblers hardly cope with the KYC challenges and introducing this again will not help but discouraged many from enjoying full access in gambling, some casinos may lost gamblers through this.
How in the hell is answering a couple questions that's not gonna take more than 5 minutes of your life stressful to you? Plus the point of the survey may have been lost to you lmao. The main reason why such a survey will be held is because the casino in this scenario wants to get a glimpse at what the average gambler's painpoint is. So they could improve upon that aspect and make a general nicer experience for everyone involved. You'd have to be some sort of special snowflake to be stressed about a 5 minute or less survey.

As for Kakmakr's problem with Stake.com "forcing" users to click the I agree button before being able to enter the site, it's a common practice done by everyone, not only in the gambling industry, literally the minute you sign in, download, or watch anything on the internet that's new to you you'd be obliged to read the ToS and check if you agree with it, if you don't want to agree with it then you don't reserve the right to play with the sportsbook, cause why in the hell are you going to play with a bookie that you can't even agree with? Does that make sense to you?

This actually happens if there is a similar thread I'll lock this thread.

My friend invited me for a round of drinks just last night to confess something, and that is his wife threatened to leave their house and file for legal separation because the wife just discovered that he's spending a lot of time gambling, she thought that he's just playing games but she discovered his logged because the idiot has his password in the browser, so the wife check his withdrawal and voila his losing a lot of money and she also discovered that he won big money in the past but didn't tell her.

If it came to that point already, then it must mean your friend's in a pickle, maybe even addicted to gambling and it's getting on the wife's nerves already. With that being said, and I don't mean to be a life coach or a relationship counselor here but the friend shouldn't really focus on wooing the wife to let him play again but should focus on actually wooing her to get her trust and love back, that's going to save their relationship and would definitely help in the future when similar problems come about.

The friend must also look into interventions in order to have him rid of the lingering want to gamble. It's gonna cost him more than his marriage in the future if he keeps at it without getting the help he needs. Gambling addiction is one of the most devastating form of addiction by the way, second only to drug abuse. So with that fact in mind he should take this issue seriously and assess himself. No regular person in their right minds would want to woo their wives to convince them to allow them to gamble again. To me that's a surefire sign that something awry is already cooking.
