1461  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: using same address twice on: March 27, 2023, 03:49:31 PM
Sending Bitcoin from the same address multiple times is not necessarily a problem in and of itself. However, there are some potential security risks to consider.
There are zero potential security risks to consider, none at all.
First, when you send Bitcoin from an address, the public key associated with that address is typically included in the transaction data. This means that anyone who has access to the transaction data can see the public key, which could potentially compromise the security of the address. However, this is not necessarily a problem if you are using a secure wallet and taking other precautions to protect your private keys
It isn't a matter of using a secure wallet or taking other precautionary security measures, your public key simply cannot be used to steal your funds from your address. It is your private key that an attacker can use to steal your funds, but then a public key being revealed whenever Bitcoins are spent from an address cannot be used to derive the private key belonging to that address, so the funds are safe.

I am pretty sure you didn't read the earlier replies on this thread because all of these has been said already, the only thing your protect when you don't reuse addresses is your privacy.
1462  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you describe bitcoin to a newbie? on: March 27, 2023, 03:38:07 PM
In fact, when I first learned about Bitcoin, I thought it was "gold" but in digital form that could be mined, but after learning about it, I realized that it was different.
Okay well, now you know better, it is much better to teach newbies the correct thing from the get-go, they do not have to get an erroneous view at first, only for it to be corrected later, it might cause them to make mistakes at the initial time. I know that when quite a lot of people hear Bitcoin mining, they think it is the same process as mining gold, but it is completely different. Imo Bitcoin and gold aren't analogous, but anyway i get your point and what you are trying to say.
1463  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you describe bitcoin to a newbie? on: March 27, 2023, 12:30:01 PM
Away from all those terminologies and jargons concerning Bitcoin, I like to explain it the simplest way I can to newbies as two things – legal tender and (2) an asset.
Well, instead of using the term legal tender, it would be most appropriate if you just call it a currency; Bitcoin is a legal tender in only two countries all over the world, and that's in El salvador and Central African Republic, thus i don't think the term legal tender can be used to refer to Bitcoin, and who knows when another country is going to make it one (a legal tender) in their shores.
1464  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you describe bitcoin to a newbie? on: March 27, 2023, 11:50:25 AM
Usually I will compare it to gold, because it is the simplest thing that can be explained to the layman. But if they want to know more about Bitcoin I'll usually tell them to read an article on Binance or Coindesk and then if they're having trouble digesting it I'll explain the parts they find confusing. Because if I explain thoroughly it will take my time because quite a lot of parts need to be explained, it's better for them to learn it by themselves.
Bitcoin is quite different from gold in numerous ways; i know quite a lot of people call Bitcoin "digital gold", but that's the closest the similarities can get to, there are so many differences between the two assets/currencies, and comparing the two of them is not an ideal way to explain what Bitcoin is to a newbie.

Having said that, there are better places to get information and resources about Bitcoin than Binance articles, do not be deceived that Binance is pro Bitcoin, they care more about their shitcoins and their own pockets. If you know people who want to learn about Bitcoin, then tell them to join this forum, and good articles that would get them started would be made available to them, and if they are tech-savvy they can even start off with the Bitcoin whitepaper.
1465  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Possible things that gives beginners problems on: March 27, 2023, 10:46:07 AM
All of these are common knowledge and there are countless threads about it, if you had used the search button you'd find quite a lot of them. The forum isn't really all that stringent and people really don't have to watch their steps carefully, it is basically just a discussion forum and you shouldn't do things that you ordinarily would not do in other discussion forums, like scamming, spamming, plagiarism and the rest; there is hardly any place that it is acceptable.

Having said that, Beginners would not have too many problems on the forum if they just be themselves, because as far as freedom of speech goes, Bitcointalk uphold that quite strongly.
1466  Other / Meta / Re: Plagiarism Vs Scam on: March 27, 2023, 08:32:49 AM
Aren't the scam accusation threads a better way to determine a scammer in the forum? If the accused doesn't come to clear his name in the forum, they could be considered guilty.
Scam accusations threads can't be used to determine a scammer, the fact that someone opens a scam accussation thread doesn't mean the person is right and the accused is guilty of the scam, and we also can't compel people to always come and respond to accusations against them. If the accusation thread has sufficient information/proof that they are guilty, then their response isn't even necessary, but if someone doesn't have enough proof against another, and requires the accused to post in order to clear their name, then they shouldn't start the accusation thread in the first place.
On the internet, I think Spam is worst than scam as moderators can detect spam themselves yet scam requires both parties to defend themselves.
I don't think so, they are equally bad, or scam is even worse because someone losses their funds, just that on the forum scam isn't moderated, and it isn't because spam is a worse evil, just that it is easier for the forum to moderate than scams, which they leave to the responsibility of users.
1467  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you describe bitcoin to a newbie? on: March 27, 2023, 08:08:12 AM
Can somebody assist me in anyway?
The thing is, you basically cannot learn about Bitcoin through the assistance of others per se, you have to look for resources/materials by yourself and read to get an understanding of what Bitcoin is. Some links have been shared on this thread, now it becomes your responsibility to read them and get a hang of things.

Having said that, mind you that there are difficult aspects of Bitcoin that you might never understand, unless you are tech-savvy, you'd be better of focusing on the most basic and important aspects that has to do with sending, receiving and safely storing your Bitcoins. Finally, don't think Bitcoin is a get rich quick scheme, it is not, quite a lot of people erroneously believe that, Bitcoin is just a decentralized currency that serves multiple purposes.
1468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: March 24, 2023, 12:01:05 PM
Until now I still stand between Bayern and Manchester City. It is very difficult to make a choice where this season the two clubs have shown fantastic results. Whoever wins will have a big impact to continue advancing to the finals with full confidence.
Whenever two heavyweight teams like this meet, it is more often than not difficult to call. Anyway the two teams haven't really been at their exceptional best this season, they are both in second position in their respective leagues, but i know that wouldn't matter in this CL encounter.

There is news that Bayern Munich are on the verge of firing Julian Nagelsmann and replacing him with Thomas Tuchel, i do not know why they are changing their manager at this pivotal moment in the season, with important games coming up for them against Dortmund and Manchester City, whatever the board has in mind, i do hope it works for them, because i think City might actually have the advantage in this game because of this, the new manager might not have ample time to study his players and know what is the best way to win this QF tie.
1469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 24, 2023, 11:43:29 AM
It’s a shame seeing how Pierre Aubameyang has gone from “glory to grass”, Chelsea’s decision to terminate his contract will be a problem for him because it will affect his reputation and career. It's a pity how Aubameyang has declined, just two seasons ago he was Arsenal's key player and now he barely starts a game for Chelsea.
Well it is what it is, and to be fair to Aubameyang, none of this is really his fault, i think he is still a top player. He fell out of favor with Arteta not because he wasn't playing well, but for his attitude (though the issue wasn't made public), he was later then sold to Barcelona that were in desperate need of players then, and he didn't do too badly, but a couple of months later Lewandowski was signed and playing time became difficult for the Gabonese striker, his former manager at Dortmund Thomas Tuchel decided to bring him to Chelsea because he had plans for him, but a week later Tuchel was fired, whists the new manager Potter doesn't see him in his plans.

Having said that, the striker has had to endure a lot in the last few years, Chelsea want to terminate his contract because he was at Camp Nou when Barcelona defeated Real Madrid last week, and there were pictures of him celebrating with the Barcelona players in their dressing room. I think Aubameyang should return to Barcelona and manage whatever playing time Xavi can offer him, at least he will be happier there than at Chelsea.

As Napoli have been performing since the start of the season, they have the potential to secure victory in the quarter-final match. Because a great confidence has been created among the players of the team. And confidence works great in the game of football. Analyzing everything, it is understood that the chances of securing the victory of Napoli in the quarter-finals of the Champions League are very high.
Well, imo Napoli are the favorites to progress to the SF, they know their opponents very well as they play in the same league (Seria A), and they definitely have the quality of players to beat them. Napoli is the team that has surprised me the most in the CL this season, i actually thought their dominance would only reside in the Italian league, but they are bringing it into the CL, thus the coach and the players deserve an awful amount of credit.

Having said that, we also cannot write off AC Milan, on their own day they are a really tough side to face; and they'd even be happy that people expect them to lose, thus they'd perform under less pressure and would prolly give all of their best into it; the SF awaits one of this Italian teams, but we'd have to wait and see which of them gets there.
1471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 23, 2023, 06:32:32 PM
I also don't have much expectation from Liverpool in Etihad. Currently Manchester City are a way more stronger team than them. The match is in Etihad which is even a bigger problem for Liverpool indeed. Liverpool's win over Manchester United by an unforgettable score shouldn't be misleading for anyone. Liverpool are still a very inconsistent team and they can't be relied upon that easy in my opinion.
I second that, and if i remember correctly, i said it then that i thought Manchester United were pretty bad on the day they were thrashed 7-0, and not that Liverpool were exceptional. Jurgen Klopp's side still has quite a lot of problems, many of which i think can't be solved this season as they'd need to buy new players in the summer to address the issues.

Liverpool always has City's number when they meet at Anfield, luckily for City this game is at the Etihad, so i expect Pep's team to win, the game means everything to them, if they lose, i think Arsenal are definitely going to win the EPL, so it is a must win game. For Liverpool, victory would not change too many things for them on the table, though it could build their confidence for the games left to be played this season.
1472  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don’t buy Bitcoin when FUD is over on: March 23, 2023, 06:09:52 PM
Of course everyone wishes/wants to buy low and then sell high, but it isn't always the case because the market is volatile and somewhat unpredictable. Sometimes whilst waiting to buy low, the price pumps and you regret why you hadn't bought since, and at that point you are caught up in two minds if you should buy now the price has appreciated, or do you wait for an upcoming fall in price before buying. The whole thing is difficult to keep on speculating this way, thus the best thing to do is follow a strategy and stick with it no matter what, even if your emotions are telling you otherwise.

Having said that, if you are a long term investor who uses DCA, the price of Bitcoin at the time you want to buy should not be your problem because you are hodling for a long time, and you will buy some low, some a little bit higher, but overall the average price would be favorable. But for short term investors, they have to be careful when they purchase, or else they'd be forced to hodl for long, or sell at a loss.
1473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: March 23, 2023, 05:45:11 PM
I don't know if it's possible (definitely not) but my dream would be to be able to see Real Madrid vs Napoli
who knows what game it would be, on the one hand the experience of the Champions League on the other a team that is grinding victories after victories
You mean in the final right, because the both of them can only meet in the final if they both win their QF and SF ties. Well it isn't something that's impossible, i for one believe Napoli would make it to the final because from my prediction, i pick them to beat AC Milan and to defeat the winner of the Benfica v Inter Milan tie.

Having said that, the problem is if Real Madrid can pass through their own hurdles, they have Chelsea to contend with in the QF, and should they come out of that tie unscathed, then they have the winner of City v Bayern to face in the SF, it is going to be really tough. Personally i want to see City in the final at Instanbul, Real Madrid have won this tournament too many times and i don't wish them to win it again this season, or even get to the final.
1474  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Please explain the math behind the DCA. I am confused. on: March 23, 2023, 04:30:38 PM
Well, i don't think anything changes, if you bought the 350 CNS at an average price of 45 U.S dollars per coin, even if you took out 100 of them, the remaining 250 were still bought at 45 U.S dollars per coin. The change in average price would occur if the price of CNS rises and you start to accumulate again, then would the average price per coin change.

Having said that, mind you that DCA is usually best with coins that are sustainable for the long term, if you are using DCA to accumulate a coin that has no actual utility or sustainability, you might run into a huge loss in the future.
1475  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: ChipMixer and clone sites are still in the wild on: March 23, 2023, 04:09:26 PM
Doesn't sized sites become the burden of the state to track down clone sites? meaning blocking all sites starts with chipmixer?
The government/state wouldn't waste its time going after clone/dummy sites, once they have taken down the big fish that they are targeting, they go after other big targets, it is the duty of the person seeking to use the website to research and make sure that they are in the right place, and if you go to the correct website/domain, just as in the case of Chipmixer, you'd get a warning that the site/domain has been seized. Of course clone sites would be taken down if found, but i don't think the state 'exhausts' its resources to seriously go after them.
Or is it possible for the same site to return again once the domain name is changed?
If this is possible, the same site may come back using a new domain name and gain trust fast (although I think they did not)
Woudn't that depend on the reason the site was seized, if a site was taken down for serious offenses, then a search and prosecution of those running the websites would follow, and surely that domain isn't returning, ever.
1476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 21, 2023, 07:52:51 PM
I tend to think Bernardo Silva's style of play and vision suits Barcelona better than Real Madrid. However, considering that Barcelona is having problems with financial conditions, Real Madrid is at the forefront of obtaining the player's services.
I am yet to hear any rumor regarding Real Madrid being interested in City's Bernado Silva, the rumors for years have been that Bernado Silva likes Barcelona, and if he was to leave City it would be for the Camp Nou. I think Real Madrid have enough midfielders, both young and old, and i think they would be contented with that, or just go for Bellingham, and even if they fail to land the English international, they would go on to play with the squad they have.

Having said that, Bernado Silva is an excellent player, and every football club would want to have him, i don't think City even has any plans of selling him, except the player decides he wants to leave, and Pep has formed a policy at the club in which he sells players who are unhappy and only keeps those who want to play for the club.
1477  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: March 21, 2023, 07:15:08 PM
By the looks of it, Ronaldo could get upset here as well, which I wouldn't really blame all on him considering the type of players he plays with, but the fact that he got here when they were leading the league and they may lose the league after he got here will definitely cause a lot of mockery. That doesn't mean that he was the reason for it, but it will not stop people from mocking him of course, just the situation itself is sort of funny already and that is why I would guess that there will be a ton of memes and videos mocking him in the end this season if they can't win the title. They still have the chance, but they just need to fight much harder.
I second that too, there are quite a lot of Ronaldo haters all over the internet, people waiting for him to fail or be put on the bench so they can make fun of him, i know it is all part of the banter, but sometime last year i began to think if maybe those in higher authorities actually somewhat dislike Ronaldo, not that it matters though, but it feels like Fifa and some of the other governing bodies are Messi fanboys.

Having said that, Ronaldo's arrival for the amount of money in question raised the expectations, of course Al Nassr is expected to win the Saudi Pro league, and if they don't so many people would turn to Ronaldo and ask what his impact has been in the team. Well there are still many games to play, and i think Al Nassr can do it, i hope they win the league because of Ronaldo.
1478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: March 21, 2023, 06:15:16 PM
Pep knows Bayern well, is familiar with their football culture.  I think that one of the teams that will go to the final can be the winner of this match.
Very tough game this is, fit to be a final in any season, but unfortunately we have to experience it in the QF this season, the two clubs have quite a lot of expectation on their shoulders, with the quality they have, they are expected to go all the way in the CL, but only one can progress to the SF.

Having said that, Pep knows Bayern, but quite a lot have changed since he left the team some years ago, new manager, many new players, and of course new style of play, thus i don't think because he was a former manager he would know what to expect. City play the first leg at home, so they must use their home advantage to get the win, because it is always difficult in the Allianz Arena.
1479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 21, 2023, 05:39:26 PM
The match between Manchester city and Liverpool will be a huge contest for both teams. Should Liverpool lose then the top four race is out of there sight. For Manchester city should they lose it will dent their league hopes for the league but I don’t think that is all because some clubs have lost the title from 10 points with just few games left.
Be it a win for Liverpool, i don't still think they have any hopes/chances of making the top four, imo the game is not all that crucial for Liverpool, but the game means everything to Manchester City. Mind you that Arsenal are now 8 points above City, albeit the Etihad club has a game in hand, but if City should lose to Liverpool on the 1st of April and Arsenal beat Leeds, then City would be 12 points adrift, with a game in hand, that would be game over if you ask me. It is a must win for City, and a good thing for them that they play this match in the Etihad.
1480  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much return are we expecting next bull run? on: March 21, 2023, 05:31:46 PM
I am currently even on a few of the altcoins I hold and thinking of moving them into Bitcoin so that I can make Bitcoin around 50% of my portfolio.
Even if i don't do this sort of diversification (Bitcoin and Altcoins), i think this moves makes more sense, it would mean in my own view that the 50% of your portfolio in Bitcoin is somewhat safe, whilst the other 50% in altcoins is unpredictable, if they pump and you are quick enough to sell, then good for you, but if they dump or do not appreciate, then your bad. But at least you've already secured 50% of your portfolio in an asset that has an actual utility.
I think Bitcoin will hit around $120k in 2025 but that will not be enough for me to sell I would rather accumulate more to the point where I own almost one full Bitcoin and then sell it in the 2029 bull run when I think will the price will be around $350k or more.
2029 is quite a long time from now, but we can just speculate and wait for what is ahead (if we are alive by then), but you are bullish on Bitcoin and so are many other people and myself as well, so we'd just continually accumulate and sell when we think is the right time to do so.
