1601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Conor McGregor vs Manny Pacquiao on: January 18, 2020, 05:51:15 AM
He just want to compete for the people he says. I don't know, he just want to fight these big names because he wants the money behind it. I don't say this often but I don't think he would be wanting to face this boxing superstars without the money he will be getting after this. I think it would be better for Manny to have a rematch than fight McGregor. It would be a good match for him before he retires.
1602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No one ever sells, nor buys anything in BitCoin.. Think this is wrong, read on! on: January 17, 2020, 11:58:33 PM
in fact, there are already those who make such rules in other countries ... they might consider it a technological advance. and in my opinion it depends on the assessment of each, I do not want to comment too much.

It is already there, rules are already set but the thing here is that they still don't accept bitcoin as it is. These stores accept bitcoin through their wallet which is a fiat wallet where bitcoins are automatically converted to fiat. Despite them using bitcoin, it is still in fiat and that is really sad.
1603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What percentage of net worth do you invest in cryptocurrency? on: January 17, 2020, 10:27:01 PM
If I am one of those people that bought bitcoin at its earlier stages, I would be so happy right now and be sitting in my house not just with my bitcoins on my ledger but also a lot of altcoins with good values in the market now. But I am not, so investing and trading is just a side job to me. I did earned some good amount of money in the past, but right now, it is kind of just there.
1604  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin is not that good as currency? on: January 17, 2020, 09:06:19 PM
I agree with you! Bitcoin has no market price stability like currency. The price of bitcoin varies from time to time: sometimes up and sometimes down. So many people who are not bold in investing in Bitcoin don't even dare to invest in Bitcoin. In fact, many countries do not accept BTC.
maybe each person will have a different analysis in exposing bitcoin, I agree that bitcoin does not have market price stability. but I might be different about investing in bitcoin, because it is very good for long-term investment. it takes patience and is not quick to panic in exposing the price of bitcoin which is rapidly changing, but with good analysis it will get very positive results.
In the past, Bitcoin was very good for the long term,
but for now I think it is very difficult to predict the price of bitcoin and is it still good to invest here in the long term.

Well, I think it is still good for a long term investment since with the volatility intact, the price will continue to change and we can expect a pumped price in the future, beside it, we can also expect a low price. We don't know what might happen, but the possibility of bitcoin pumping and dumping is always there.
Honestly speaking if you are just gonna trade you wouldnt be rich because of the volatility of bitcoin. Look I am not against in cryptocurrency but this is not a permanent job as a trader most especially if you have a family to woek for and a kids to support. You're still need to find a permanent job even if its not a long but at least you have a fixed salary because here the price of the bitcoin is volatile sometimes it rises but most of the time it decreases.

Well, I have a job and the reason that I said it is unpredictable means I don't rely on the profit that I am getting from it. I just said that it is a good long term investment since in my experience, as I save some of my earned bitcoin, the profit is increasing in time but as I said, no one can predict what might happen so I just save it in my wallet, convert some of them sometimes in other alts.

1606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can we overcome our gambling addiction! on: January 17, 2020, 01:41:53 PM
He may realize that, in my case I did, that is why I agreed on going to therapies, I promise to be in the house after my job and be with my wife's side at weekends. It is tough, I cried every night regretting those money wasted in my addiction. Though, I have my wife comforting me, she helped me a lot.
You should think yourself to be small because you cried. You cried because you are human and because you care for your family. It is important to realize what is important your family or your endless desire to make money? Just remember that during our lives the first one is always more important and what makes a human happy even if their total income is small.

With gambling going out of control one should think of their family and decide twice whether they should gamble or save up the money.

Think of how much bad they would feel if you lost money and would not be able to feed them. It takes time but gradually you gain control over your mind and body.

Well, it is really hard. My family suffered enough, and they are the reason I stopped my addiction. I did not complete my sessions, though I can control myself in gambling. I still gamble to be honest but I know now when to stop. My priority is my family, my wife that took care of me and will take care of me in the future.
1607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can we overcome our gambling addiction! on: January 17, 2020, 12:51:20 PM
it all depends on the level of addiction. Are they too bad? maybe it's true that they have to go to a therapist because it has entered their subconscious mind and has to change mindset to stop gambling. and this is the most important thing, find out what triggers made him gamble? and try to overcome it without gambling.

That is the thing.

After knowing what triggers them to gamble, it will always be the same after that, they still needed someone to be there with them. They should be able to have an alternative way to kill time and gambling should be out of those choices. The time that he feels alone, that time that he feels free and can do anything even in a slight time, their mind will go back to gambling again.

is it possible for someone to become aware of addiction after experiencing something very bitter like something bad happened because of his doing? he should be able to realize himself because the true desire to recover from addiction is in us. but of course the guidance is necessary, but all back to him whether he has a very strong intention to change.

1608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: January 17, 2020, 11:44:14 AM
Who can stop Giannis?
He is keep rolling with amazing plays and performances something that I didn't expect happening when the season started.

That was the same impression of him last year. Also, the reason why he got the Season MVP title. But ended up eliminated in Eastern Conference Finals even they are up by 2 wins on their first 2 games. His dominance was able to stop even how monster he is prior to ECF and I think the majority was surprised.

We might have seen an unstoppable Giannis today, as usual, but I want to see him maintain that dominance up to the finals.

Now, who can stop Giannis? Let's see on playoffs.

Just like the previous season, Giannis seemed to be unstoppable but the raptors stopped the seemingly unstoppable Bucks. Now, it's too early to say that Giannis is unstoppable not unless if he can prove that he can carry his team to the top.

It is great to be a star of the team but I hope he don't grow as a one man team. I really supported him even before Kobe acknowledged him, now people are looking at Doncic, and Caruso. Still, I support Giannis and his team now. Also, what do you think about Caruso and Zion these season?
1609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it good to talk about big gains? on: January 16, 2020, 11:51:15 PM
It really depends on your playing venue. When you play at an online casino and just brag about your winnings in the chatbox or here on a website where your identity remains anonymous, there is no excuse not to brag. Of course, it's a bit of a shower change, but nothing prevents and almost definitely no consequences. But if you're basically playing at a regular casino, then you should preserve your anonimity

Its not that you can hide your identity in a casino since there are some announcements and maybe some sounds of the machine that you've won. Though in terms of online gambling, yeah, I agree with that way of talking about your gains. Give some tips if you feel generous too.
1610  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Social experiments in the world of gambling on: January 16, 2020, 10:07:10 PM
Even he's my friend, I'll not give any single cents to him/her. It's his fault and should face the consequences of being aggressive in gambling. I don't have a problem with gambling but I have problems with those people who keep wasting their funds. They don't have discipline and control then it's not my problem and it'll serve as a lesson for them.

The first loss should be the first and the last mistake, slap him into the reality that gambling isn't really for profit-making. The only people should waste their money on gambling are those luxurious people who think gambling is for entertainment only.

I understand this. But it won't really hurt you to help once and tell that person to change or try to be a better person. At least you warned and reminded him so he knows there won't be a second chance of help from you.

Help once? Do you even understand how hard it is to be addicted in something? Reminding him once won't help at all, it will just keep on coming back if you will just do it once. That kind of help is not needed, better ignore him if you will just do that half-hearted help of yours. If you will not be there for him, your totally useless in helping him.
1611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How we can introduce bitcoin to local people on: January 16, 2020, 09:07:44 PM
I think the biggest problem is how we get their trust in Bitcoin because there are many different ways of implementing it based on previous comments. In my own experience, after a couple of weeks, most of the people I spoke to either forgot about Bitcoin because they're not involved or perhaps they're still sceptical about cryptocurrencies. We have to constantly remind them why bitcoin is the best thing ever.

Well, just tell them where and how they can use it. Most of the people I knew was interested in it when I say that it can be profitable in the future. Though it is sometimes very annoying when they have a lot of repeating questions so I just usually tell them to search it themselves. When I said I can pay bills online with it, as far as I know they bought some.
1612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Can I pay in Bitcoin here?" - go and ask this each time you pay something! on: January 16, 2020, 08:23:49 PM
These are good suggestions because even though we know they do not accept bitcoin and they are not aware of it they can adopt it because of Bitcoin demand.

So it's good that we do this to increase awareness of bitcoin and if we are store owners we should start accepting it in our businesses.
Increasing awareness by setting examples by accepting bitcoin or crypto into our own business will impress and make a good impacts to more people
around us, nor those people who are not really close to us. It's adding more people to be aware and get into this market. Bitcoin have good communities and by adding more will make it more stronger.
Awareness is the key to spread the adoption of bitcoin that's why what OP did is too useful specially if everytime you have to pay for something in a convenient store or restaurants. A simple way to make them more aware of this new technology evolving and adapting everywhere.
Yes, thats the point!

Did anyone here did it as mentioned ? What reactions did you get?

Well, they are confused since I thought they are accepting it. They have this poster outside saying that anonimity is not that bad, I thought it is a sign that they accept bitcoin. When I asked them, they are confused, they do not know what it is. So, yeah. i just look if there is a sign, if there is not, I don't need to ask. It can raise awareness, yes but my tine was wasted being asked what it is and where to get it.
1613  Other / Off-topic / Re: your internet costs and income on: January 16, 2020, 07:14:08 PM
Well, it is not a lot since when I go to my job it is free. Usually schools here has free internet in their teacher's faculty so I have no problem. When I go home, that's when I badly needed it since we don't have an internet at home so I pay for like $1 every 3 days. Filipinos would immediately figure that out.
1614  Economy / Economics / Re: Crimes involving crypto have risen on: January 16, 2020, 02:29:44 PM
"Nearly 2.7 trillion won ($2.3 billion) have been lost to crimes involving cryptocurrency in the last two years, according to South Korean government data."

where do you see the improvements being made against crypto criminal activity. this can really hurt the price for traders/investors if conditions don't improve.
I've also had quite a headache on this issue for a long time.  because I know that trading big in this market will make it easier to bring in more money, but the risk of losing money on exchanges is also very large.  I am quite a perfectionist and expect everything to be safe before deciding on something big.  That's why I'm quite worried and also missed many opportunities to get rich.  I think the SEC should enter the crypto market to protect us.  we should make a move to beg them and give them what they ask for.  It's time for our market to be under control.

In terms of hacking and scams, we should be aware of this. They can legalize bitcoin in their country and protect their people but at the end of the day, we are still the one that should be responsible for our wallet. If we know what to do and what we should not do, we can prevent being scammef and being hacked, that easy.
1615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's in the game, after all? on: January 16, 2020, 12:33:40 PM
In my opinion, gambling is one way to get away with boredom, it is like entertaining yourself and at the same time, you're getting monetary rewards if you're lucky. Every one of us look at gambling differently some gamble because of the reason that it can be a good way to earn big money right away but some gamble just to have fun and entertain themselves, regardless of how we look at it it should be done in moderation as to avoid unnecessary losses.
Gambling is aiming for money, we can play games for boredom or other activities that will not require money. But since we wanted while we're playing is that there is still money that may involve as earning so gambling happens. We just need only to know how to discipline ourselves when we're playing it.

Well, it is not that easy. Despite you knowing for the fact that you are so addicted to it, you will never be able to stop. To be honest I still find ways to gamble instead of working. Something will just hook you up into gambling and it is not that easy to discipline yourself. That is gaming, the game will really eat you up if you don't know what to do.
1616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: January 13, 2020, 11:46:22 PM
They were suspended that time, I think CP3, Rondo, and Ingram were all suspended for a number of games,.. actually it's always fun to watch fight games in NBA,.. I also remember Ron Artest fights.

Well, we are the same. Not because I love when they are fighting but it just shows how professionals also lose their temper every now and then. In terms of Metta World Peace, well, his fight with the Detroit Pistons is the most popular and to be honest, that is the best since fans also joined in.
1617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Social experiments in the world of gambling on: January 12, 2020, 11:06:21 PM
If someone bet and he suffers a big loss and then goes here to ask a little help from you, are you willing to give him help?
Have you ever experienced something like that, how do you deal with this loss?

What help does he want? Financial help or any means is not applicable since we both are gamblers. Of course it is out in our conscience if the guy suffer a big loss and it's his responsibility to protect his financial issues.

This is common in the gambling society. To be honest, there are a lot of Chinese who take advantages of these kinds of people, they lend them money and will be having interest when they will be paying. Also, if you go online with chats, you would always see people tipping other gamblers, it would count as help too.
1618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's in the game, after all? on: January 12, 2020, 02:43:48 PM
I am at the first camp. Well, in the past I am addicted to gambling and without the help of my wife, I might still be addicted today, luckily I have her. I realized that Im not just wanting the money for myself but also to my family since everytime that I win, I usually treat my family into something nice. I want to provide for my family and gambling gave me that experience, but it is gambling so there are a lot of times I've also lost.
1619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you go to blockchain/crypto events? on: January 09, 2020, 11:36:38 PM
I would love to go in one but I am being fed up by my job right now and can't pretty much go to these events. I knew one close to our place last year, about 6-8 hours of travel, I want to go but my free time would be ending in 2 days so I thought it would just be disappointing to go there and just stay there for a day. I just hope I could go into one this year.
1620  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat Vs Cryptocurrency, which would you choose? on: January 09, 2020, 04:09:31 PM
For me it is best to use fiat currency in terms of purchasing especially in small shops. Because crypto currency is only limited by the products we can buy and we cannot afford to live with crypto so eventually we are still converting our crypto currency to fiat money to buy our daily needs.

Well, I would not say that it is the best but we have no choice other than that. Crypto currencies are just accepted by limited stores and some even don't want to accept it as payment. That is the reason why bitcoin and crypto currencies are made, for the convenience of its users. With the limited place to use it, people are just using it as a store of value. I would not say Fiat is the best here but as I said, we have no choice. If crypto currency are being used regularly, I would choose it than Fiat.
