1621  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 08, 2023, 10:51:19 AM
Saving only sounds like a waste to a couple of people because there are no chances of your money appreciating, and it could as well depreciate depending on how strong or weak the currency you are saving is.

Well, imo i'd say you should work according to your risk appetite, because there is practically risk in everything. Saving might carry a lower risk anyway, because you could basically just leave your money in tbe bank and earn tiny interest on it every year; the only risk with that method is the effects of inflation. Whilst investments are quite risky, though some are more risky that the other; if you are to buy Bitcoin as an investment for example, you'd have to learn what the risk concerns are, and how to imbibe the responsibility of being your own bank so you don't lose your coins to scammers or sheer negligence, but if you can do things right you stand the chance of earning a very good ROI in the long term.

It is your future, and only you can decide, you just have to look at the pros and cons of it all. Better still you can split your money and invest some, whilst you save some.

Aubameyang's career is over, the Aubameyang I used to watch in Arsenal is far from the Aubameyang in blue jersey. This has become a tragic story and to add salt to wound Chelsea taken him off the Champions league. At this point, he may be tempted to just retire and hang his boots to avoid further humiliation in the future.
Well, that could be an option, the Gabonese superstar is currently enduring the lowest point in his career and i can imagine what would be going through his head on what's next for him going forward in his career, he seems to be completely off Graham Potter's plans, and there is a possibility that he wouldn't play a single match again for Chelsea, that is utterly humilating. Aubameyang is just 33 years of age right now, so it is somewhat still early for him to retire from the game, but i think his time is up at the elite level, there are rumors of him moving the the MLS and stuff like that, that seems to be the best option for him right now, a move to a less competitive league, maybe even to Saudi Arabia.

Wetin i know be say Wike just they do all these things to hamper Atiku's chances of becoming president, immediately after the primaries wey Wike lose, he no they happy with the result since then, as e believe say the candidacy suppose come the south, but PDP still manage give am to a Northern man wey be Atiku. Wike and him G-5 governor friends no fit decide who go be president, and i no think say them don even talk say na wetin them go do, wetin Wike been they do since na to carry Nigerians they play, say e go soon decide who him they support for this presidential election, small time e comot talk say e no go make that declaration for public again. Wike just want make Atiku sweat, and e they somehow bring disunity into PDP ahead of the elections.

Having said that, make nobody deceive you say e get power to decide who go be presido, na me and you wey be the electorate so na im go decide who go be president, na out PVC get that power, so make we no sell our votes, but make we come out that day, vote for the candidate of our choice.

I agree, I don't think that Chelsea would target Osimhen when they already have Nkunku, even Osimhen wouldn't want to be played from game to game and get replaced in the middle of the match all the time, he might want to join a club where he is the main striker and play most 90 minutes.
Victor Osimhen should cost around 100 million pounds in the summer, that is definitely not an amount Chelsea can spend in this forthcoming summer transfer window, not that they can't afford it, but because of the amount of money they've already spent in the last two transfer windows. As a result of that they might have to take things pretty slow in the summer, except they are going to sell some players for good money, thus they can they balance their books. I'm pretty sure they would be looking at the charges leveled against City today, and they'll want to make sure that it doesn't get to them in the future.
1625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 06, 2023, 08:18:09 PM
I honestly don't think any other team is going to win the English Premier League title this season other than Arsenal. Manchester City is too engaged in the Champions League. And the other teams are just not close enough to Arsenal to give them consistent pressure for the title. I feel like Arsenal is going to win the title this time. Unless of course Arsenal starts losing and Manchester City start winning. I am not saying that cannot happen. That obviously can happen, but that is more possible than probable Smiley.
Manchester City's problem isn't that they are engaged in the CL, the CL group stage was over a very long time ago, City didn't even have a great CL group stage, but notwithstanding, they have been off CL duties for many months, and the CL doesn't restart until later this month, thus i can't even make that as an excuse for City. There seems to be something wrong with City, even with Pep's team selections, leaving out key players like De Bruyne, Laporte, Diaz, Foden, etc, and even the decision to let Cancelo go, it all seems so weird. City problems have even been compounded today as they have been charged by the EPL for alleged breach of the FFP rules, this is really going to affect City's performances. It might just be that season for City, were they don't win anything.

You have been here for a very long time, but in all that time you really haven't even posted all that much in the forum, that's not talking about the content of your posts you have now, but you have to be involved in the forum (through reading, posting and contributing) to earn 100 merits, you wouldn't just post sparingly and log in one day and see you have 100 merits now. Having said that, as far as the quality of your post goes, if you stick around like i have said and frequent sections that MS and users with merits go to, you'd stand a chance to slowly but surely earn merits and move up in the ranks.
Since you've quoted me and wrote right afterwards "You could as well read the rules here to get some directives as you seem like a total newbie." I considered that you're referring to me.
Who would ever consider you a total newbie, lol Grin  Grin Huh
1627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 06, 2023, 02:37:34 PM
Thanks to Tottenham Arsenal maintains their 5 points lead.
Well, that's the biggest regret for Pep Guardiola and all of Manchester City fans, the League Leaders had already lost to Everton a day before, so it was an opportunity for City to go within two points of Arsenal. More frustration for Pep and City, and i am pretty sure they would be kicking themselves for not capitalizing on the opportunity that presented itself.

Having said that, City have been charged by the Premier League FA today for FFP reasons, and i don't know how this will affect their push to retain their premier league title, most times off the field issues like this can affect the players performances. Arsenal have the advantage at this moment, and i think they are ready to go all the way. Maybe City should prolly concentrate on winning the CL this season.
1628  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Introduction Of self as Sandra99 on: February 06, 2023, 07:11:25 AM
actually I have money for Invest  but i am confused about this crypto market
I already check history  too much Dump and Pump  i cant afford loss
If you can't afford loss, it basically means you wouldn't invest in anything at all, you wouldn't also start a business in real life, or buy a car, or start your brand, etc; nearly everything we do in life has its own form of risk, but the thing is, it is always preferable to minimize the risk involved when taking a move.

Having said that, in the crypto market it is altcoins that are pump and dump coins, and as a newbie that you are you should steer clear of them until maybe when you have the experience; but Bitcoin is great if you are prepared to hold for the long term, but it as well requires patience and understanding of the market; right now i think you should not think about investing in crypto, but garnering knowledge, once you have enough of it, your journey would be seamless.
1629  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is diversification into different coins really a good advice for Newbies? on: February 06, 2023, 06:58:12 AM
I asked because unless you have mentors who you can call up for directions or advice, as a newbie, you will likely learn from the experience of having more losses than gain, mostly when the market shifts and other factors happen.
Mind you that you mustn't have mentors/experts you can call to help you choose your investment or the coins you should throw your money on, if you want to understand crypto investments properly, you have to do it yourself, with adequate research you would get the right advice and information without needing to contact anyone who you would/might continually depend on before making any move, doing things that way could get you misled or scammed.
Sometimes diversification of investment also increase your income.
Diversification of your investment increases your income if you buy different assets (that are non-crypto), it is prolly best to basically just buy Bitcoin, and buy other assets like gold, etc.
1630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 04, 2023, 11:54:12 PM
If Napoli sells Osimhen, everyone would agree it is a mistake. Their chances of going far in their leagues will be  futile.
Well, i don't think anybody in Napoli (both the fans, players and hierarchy at the club) would want Victor Osimhen to leave for another team, but sometimes it is what it is and there is nothing you can do to block some moves from happening. It is just like Dortmund that builds up world class players and eventually sell them to other teams; it isn't as if Dortmund do not want to hold on to their players, but when a player stares at their dream club, there is nothing you can do to block it, except you want to be left with an unhappy player in your team.

Having said that, Victor Osimhen is completely committed to Napoli for now, and he is definitely set to win the highest goal scorer in the League, and the Seria A title to add to that, but afterwards the question about his future would arise. I expect quite a lot of top clubs to bid for Osimhen in the summer. I think if a club like Real Madrid should come for the Nigerian striker, i don't think he can turn them down. Napoli might struggle to hold on to their star striker in the summer.

Meanwhile , Chelsea are doing everything they can in order to save this season and I'm skeptical if they can save it but next one should be totally different.  Grin
Well with the number of players they've recruited in the last two transfer windows, it is expected that they perform superbly next season, but i am not still sure about that, and that's because of the manager they have, i have been critical of Graham Potter since his day 1 at Chelsea, not because he isn't a good manager (of course he did an excellent job at Brighton), but because i don't think he has that mentality to manage a big club like Chelsea, he looks properly suited for a mid-table team.

Having said that, another thing is there's still quite enough time for them to at least rescue CL football for next season, but after that disappointing and uninspiring draw against Fulham yesterday, it goes a long way to show how difficult it's going to be for them to achieve that. I wonder what it will be like for all these quality players they have, with their respective egos if they end up not being involved in Europe at all next season.

4. A tough one, but memorize your assets seed phrase. It works like magic if you achieve this.
This is definitely not a right decision and nobody should actually be trying something like this. If you memorized your seed phrase, i enjoin you right now to get a piece of paper and pencil and write it down. It is completely wrong to trust your brain to hold your seed phrase for you, you could forget it like magic, come upon amnesia or after a long while start mixing up the words or something. If you don't want to lock yourself out of your funds, do not memorize your seed phrase, but stick to the proven method of paper and pencil.

As it stands, Binance is the exchange I can readily rely on to store my assets for a while. On the Luna crash and the FXT exchange, I saw how it responded and performed. Although a major exchange like Binance has the best of intentions for cryptocurrency users, due to her global reach, she cannot rugpull her users
Binance doesn't have to rug-pull its customers for them to lose funds, they can basically use their customers money wrongly, face government sanctions, be hacked or do one thing or the other and their customers would be left with no funds, but just digits in their wallets that they can't access.

Having said that, mind you that you shouldn't rely on any crypto exchange to store your assets for even awhile. How exactly did Binance perform during the Luna and FTX crash? All they do when another exchange is on the verge of crashing is how they can use the situation to their advantage, they try to use it to allure more reputation to their exchange and make money, don't be fooled into believing that Binance has your best interest at heart.

Marcus Rashford's appearance was very dominant in several Manchester United matches and scored consecutive goals in every match he played, this made his name shine so brightly in the EPL and really deserved this award. He is still the key to victory for Manchester United this season and Erik ten Hag always provides opportunities for Marcus Rashford to continue to develop.
Cristiano Ronaldo's exit from Manchester United was somewhat of a blessing to Marcus Rashford, i don't mean Ronaldo was his problem when he was in the team, but sometimes the presence of a bigger player in a team can affect the confidence and responsibility of other players that aren't as big as them. Once Ronaldo was no longer in the picture for Manchester United, Rashford knew he now carries quite a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders, and he has to deliver.

Having said that, the Manager Erik Ten Hag has also put quite a lot of faith and trust in Rashford, this has helped to build up his confidence, and by extension, his performances; for the sake of Manchester United i hope he continues like this and win more individual awards and titles for his boyhood club.

A heavy blow for PSG as this guy is making the difference. To be honest, I don't remember what were the previous quotes for the teams to advance to the next round, but it seems to me that they were worse for Bayern than now: 1.72. It turns out that now Bavaria is a clear favorite in this pair.
Do you feel Bayern Munich are now clear favorites in this tie because Mbappe would prolly miss the first leg encounter? Mbappe is obviously a very important player for PSG, but they are a team with an array of stars that can definitely cover up for what they'll be lacking without Mbappe. Neymar is in tremendous form, and the best player in the world (Lionel Messi) is also in this same team, these kind of players live for big games such are this, and i am pretty sure they are going to turn up on that day and put up a show. Well, even if PSG loses the first leg, i would never think it is because Mbappe was absent, but because Bayerm Munich were the better of the two sides on the night.
1636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 02, 2023, 07:45:03 PM
It is disappointing that PSG couldn't get the deal completed before the deadline. Ziyech himself will be very disappointed with this development, everyone would hate losing out on the chance of playing for PSG alongside with Messi and Mbappe. This kind of opportunities don’t always come.
Psg and Ziyech are fuming right now, PSG have even threatened not to do business anymore with Chelsea because they feel the club purposely did things that made the deal fall through; for Ziyech it would be a disappointing and embarrassing moment for him, having already flown to France to complete the deal, only to fly back to England still a Chelsea player. The biggest picture in all of this is where he stands now in Potter's team, would a player who was so eager to leave have the motivation to play for the club anymore, and if he is going to sit on the bench for the remainder of the season, it raises the question of why then did Chelsea do what they did that made the deal fall through.
Chelsea were able to complete Enzo's deal before the deadline, this shows how much the club prioritized this deal.
Chelsea finally got their man in the eleventh hour, imo he is definitely not worth anything close to that amount, but i guess it is what it is and i hope he performs for his new club.
1637  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: invest in bitcoin or altcoin? on: February 02, 2023, 05:56:34 PM
I'm confused, should I invest in bitcoin or other coins? In my friend's opinion, he suggested investing in bitcoin. But what do you think, is it better to invest in bitcoin or other coins?
If i were you i'd prolly not be confused and invest in Bitcoin straightaway, but that's because i know that Bitcoin has an actual utility and is quite different from most altcoins without any utility at all. Because Bitcoin has an actual utility it is sustainable for the long term, thus you can hold your coins for as long as you like, but with altcoins you have to be actively checking for when it is either going to pump or dump, you basically have to buy before it pumps, and sell before it dumps, that's the nature of altcoins and why it's somewhat like you're just gambling.
1638  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria achievement compared to other Africa countries and the world on: February 02, 2023, 05:20:29 PM
Naija na blessed country, i no sure say e get person wey fit doubt/dispute that one, as Naija be so ehn, we get everything wey fit make this country better, but look where we they right now, i no go call wetin they for your OP as achievements because e no get any impact/change on the lives of average Nigerians in the country.

Having said that, Nigeria na example say person fit get everything wey go make am happy for this life but e still they suffer, i know say the the rest of Africa and the world go they laugh Naija, because they know say Naija suppose be that country wey go spring up from Africa to shine make the rest of the world see her glory, but corruption hold us like persom wey hold thief for neck. Every problem wey we they endure as Nigerians stem from corruption, if we fit tackle corruption from the root, then Nigeria go be better place to live.
1639  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto YouTubers are all financial advisors on: February 02, 2023, 01:15:30 PM
Crypto YouTubers always say it is not a financial advise so they will not be blamed if things go sideways. It is not a financial advice means you are following the tip at your own risk.
That is what they say so as not to get into any trouble if the crypto they are shilling crashes so bad. Following anyone's advice is always at your own risk, but it doesn't exempt the person who popularized the idea from blame, especially when the person is a celebrity who knows that many of their followers listen to what they say. I know we enjoin people to: "DYOR", but i understand some of them do not know how to accurately do that, so they fall into the hands of some of these influencers who pitch scam/bad projects to them which doesn't end well. Thus even if investing is at your own risk, i think influencers should also be held responsible for promoting scams.
1640  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 02, 2023, 07:02:53 AM
Graham Potter is in a position to make the transfers he wants and right now he should think about who he will bring to the team and take that step.  The choice available to Potter is incredible.  There are situations such as the ability to spend unlimited.  After spending so much money, the main goal should be to get into the top 4 in the league and build a squad that can be champion for UCL next year.
I don't know if Chelsea are going to get themselves into FFP problems because of the amount of money they have spent, both in last summer's transfer window and the just concluded January winter transfer window. Anyway i'm pretty sure the club knows what they are doing and they ought to know how to circumvent all that.

Having said that, Graham Potter is one of the few managers in the world right now that's spoilt for choice on players to select per game, it is a good thing to have, but it can also come with problems of too much rotation and struggles of keeping big players happy; there'd also be a huge amount of pressure on the manager to deliver, Potter has to ensure Chelsea finish in the top four, and then he has to win titles next season, or else he'll prolly be fired.
