1621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Practices for Staying Safe When Gambling on: October 22, 2023, 07:44:37 AM
Chasing losses is never been that a good behavior to have specially on gambling on which this would really be that resulting into such impulsive approach towards gambling and this would really be that messes up your finances specially if you cant really be able to control yourself or simply with your emotion then most likely you would really be ending up on messing everything later on.
Gambling isnt bad as long you do really know on what you are doing or simply having that control because usually gamblers do messes up with this one not literally speaking about those
security issues literally but most of the time people do experience problem when it comes to addiction and this is where people should really be mindful because if not then
this is where people do mess up and could hardly be able to assess such situation specially if you have ended up yourself on getting addicted which playing safe on both directions
but generally on which people should be avoiding on getting addicted as much as possible.
I agree with you, chasing losses and being not contented with what you've accomplished in gambling may result in becoming greedy and developing an unhealthy obsession. Expect to lose and win, as everyone says don't chase your losses by making a bigger bet just to win back the money you have lost. You've mentioned that gambling is not that bad as long as you have self-control and discipline. well, being a responsible gambler, you must not use gambling as a source of income, use money that you can afford to lose, and set a dollar limit and stick to it. One of the best safe practices in gambling is by making a personal rule not to gamble on a credit and avoiding gambling when you're not mentally and emotionally prepared.
1622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: October 22, 2023, 05:38:08 AM
Precisely, Number one rules of being a responsible gambler is to not be greedy for the money. Gamblers should fully aware what will be the consequences if they didn't follow that #1 rule. Having a self discipline is a must and they should know how to control their emotions while playing. Aside from what i've mentioned, Being a responsible gambler, they should know how to stop when they know that their alloted money for playing is slowly lossing. It's easy to be said because we have a different perspective when to say that a gambler is a responsible but i hope this tips will help.
The question is how you, as a gambler, can control your greed?
This is the main question and if you can answer it it then you will have no problems on controlling your gambling habits.
If you can control your greed and stop pursaching your losses then you will never become a gambling addict. Everything is is in the gambler's mind. He have to know how to react to losses but in the same time how to reacts to wins. If he knows how to do this then he won't be afraid of becoming an addict.
These days, greed is circulates everywhere but with the right advise and techniques, you can put an end to that emotion. to overcome being greedy, you must be practice being satisfied and contented with what you have, Practice being mindfulness so you've become aware on your emotions and thoughts, its a practice that encourage us to pay attention on what's happening around us than being distracted by our own thoughts and worries about what will gonna happen in the future,

1624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Possible measures to stop online gambling addiction. on: October 22, 2023, 03:31:06 AM
~snip~
Few people might be converted by the motivation of his/her nearest person, motivational speaker, religious speech, and so on. And the percentage of this is too low. I have personally seen several people who know everything but have even been changed.
Well, it will be up to each person. If they can repent because of the motivation of those closest to them, that is good because they can understand what their mistake was, and there is a desire to change in the right direction. That's all in the past, and they still have a second chance, to make the best use of it. And don't waste what the people closest to you have done because they all still care about the gambling addict. And with full support given to gambling addicts, gambling addicts will find a way to cure their gambling addiction.
Yes, strong support and empathy from the surrounding environment, family, friends, is very important in the recovery process for gambling addicts. With the right help, including therapy and psychological support, they can find ways to overcome their addiction and begin a positive recovery journey.
Providing effective resources and services can also help them understand the root of their problems and develop appropriate strategies to avoid gambling temptations. Ongoing support can play an important role in helping them get back on a healthy and productive path.
Even though it is not completely effective, in my opinion the main factor that influences gambling addicts is the environment.
One of the possible ways to stop gambling addiction is to seek help from the professionals. They know how to assess and what kind of therapy they should do to make it possible.. It's a step by step assessment and it really takes time. by that, A gambler addict must help their self too. Having strong support from a family and friends is highly encourage and little by little, gambler must avoid anything related to any gambling activities. I know someone who's addicted in gambling and I saw how miserable his life is, To the point that there's nothing left in his pocket and has a lot of pending loans in banks and relatives. he didn't realize all the wrongdoings until his family left him because he didn't want to change for a better. I always advise that gambling is okay as long as you're a responsible in your actions.
1625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin for everyone? on: October 22, 2023, 12:51:56 AM
Yes, it's for everyone who are interested in learning Bitcoin and investing if they want to invest and No, it is also not for everyone because not all people are interested in Bitcoin or cryptocurrency for some reason. Now you know why the answer is both yes and no. Anyway, it's up to you if you also think the same but for me that's my answer and it's also my opinion. We all have different opinions and because of it, we have different answers.
Bitcoin is literally not for everyone, Not all people are interested when it comes to crypto or into different type of investment. That's true that it is free to use by everyone but It's difficult to explain how crypto works over and over again because some people stick to their mind that crypto is a scam just like what they heard and watched on the news. Bitcoin is open for those who want to learn more and have a basic knowledge and understanding of it.
1626  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Dapat ba na bayaran ang tax ng campaign earnings etc. on: October 21, 2023, 11:38:06 PM
Hindi naman natin na cacash in or withdraw ang kinikita natin sa crypto campaign ng hindi dumadaan sa exchange in which I think dba given na yon?
na taxed na bawat transactions natin?

also di mo naman na kailangan problemahin kabayan as long as verified account ka sa mga exchange in which you can use P2P para wala ng chechebureche pa .
maniban nalang kung sobrang laki na ng Kita mong naipon na medyo ma question na talaga ang transactions , or little by little mo i cash out.

I think naguguluhan ka kabayan about transaction fees at taxes.

1627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: October 21, 2023, 11:21:26 PM
To remain a responsible gambler, you must not be greedy for money, and secondly, you must have self-control and discipline so that you don't end up being emotional. Besides that, when you play gambling in this casino, you should give yourself a limited amount of how much you will gamble. This is where you can use discipline on yourself.

Have a sensitive feeling; when you feel that you are always losing and not winning, it means that you should stop and come back another day or spend a week first. If you do that, you will definitely become a responsible gambler.
Precisely, Number one rules of being a responsible gambler is to not be greedy for the money. Gamblers should fully aware what will be the consequences if they didn't follow that #1 rule. Having a self discipline is a must and they should know how to control their emotions while playing. 1628  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Traditional business or investing in bitcoin? which one is good? on: October 21, 2023, 05:36:05 PM
Parehas ay may kanya kanyang risk involved. It also depends kung ano yung experience mo both fields kasi yun yung important thing about it. Both are good depende kung ano ang view mo sakanilang dalawa since parehas naman sila may risk. Though for me mas pipiliin ko yung crypto kasi siguro mas mahaba yung experience ko sa cryptocurrency compared to having a business.
1629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often is your luck in gambling? on: October 21, 2023, 01:45:15 PM
This Filipina did not even expect she won the grand prize on lottery instead she thought of winning just consolation prizes. Lucky for her she had that financial stability for 25 years as $6,670+ a month here in the Philippines is pretty huge.

https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/pinoyabroad/content/882861/pinay-wins-over-p387-000-a-month-for-25-years-in-emirates-draw/story/

I am not lucky in lottery or any gambling casinos but way back in 2017 the only luck I encountered was I gambled with the risk of joining bounty hunting on this forum and it is worth it.

How about you guys, are you having a good fortune on your gambling career? Do you ever think of quitting after you won a jackpot?

That woman who won was really fortunate. Is it correct that she will receive such a sum within the next 25 years? That is a dream come true for him, and he is already wealthy after only a few years. Perhaps he was predestined to win there. Do such people exist in real life?

I rarely win at gambling since I frequently lose. Also, I rarely gamble when I'm on vacation or just want to have some fun at the casino. But that girl is extremely fortunate; I was honestly got envious. I wish all gamblers could be like her.

I bet this is her winning year and that prize is destined for her and to answer your question, Yes, those winners exist in real life. However, in our country it's quite difficult to determine if there's a real winner or its just a fake announcement since there's an allegations that our sweepstake official is deceiving the citizens and making it look that someone won the grand prizes when there really wasn't.

There was the time that i installed casino app and tried to play but i lose, seems like the favor is not mine. Well, i enjoy playing bet games as long as i can manage my time and alloted funds for gambling.
1630  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Mga Artista Na Scam Ng Crypto Investment on: October 21, 2023, 07:31:26 AM

1631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My first Bitcoin on: October 21, 2023, 06:41:32 AM
I got my first Bitcoin just by joining signature campaigns as one of the perks of being a member on this Bitcointalk forum founded by the legendary Satoshi Nakamoto. I also purchased small fractions and even tried mining but unfortunately did not work due to the increasing difficulty and lack of profit in mining.

For me earning Bitcoin through signature campaigns was more convenient and simple. You just need to qualify to the campaign requirements and dedicate your time and effort creating constructive posts to get paid on a weekly basis.

For now, since I have not met the minimum required merits earned for the last 120 days, I am still able to earn through altcoin bounties. But as soon as I got that required merit I will surely apply to Bitcoin paying campaigns.

I encountered and got fractions of Bitcoin before diving myself into Altcoins. This forum really helps me and my family a lot. I learn and earn at the same time which is a perfect combination for me.

How about you guys, did you earn your first Bitcoin through services here on this forum? Are you mining or you bought it as well? Which crypto came to you first, is it Bitcoin or Altcoins? What are your Bitcoin source at the moment if you don't mind me asking?

Wow, Congrats to you. that's nice to hear! Same on how you earned yours, I earned my first crypto coin here in bitcoin talk forum by joining signature and bounty campaign and it helps me a lot  in my financial needs while learning how the crypto market works by reading topics here. This forum serves as my stepping stone in my crypto journey wayback 2017 and as of now, I am earning from the signature campaigns. it's a quite hard to gain 1 BTC today but it depends how consistent and eager you are.
1632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More secure ways of storing bitcoin? on: October 21, 2023, 04:41:14 AM
How do institutional investors store and protect their Bitcoin assets?
Institutional investors, such as hedge funds and corporations, have different ways of storing and protecting their Bitcoin assets than typical user wallets.
It is not for us to know  lol , but of course they are using more protection that usual crypto holder(though we are all advised to keep our coins safer in how we need it to put)
They mostly use hardware wallet to keep their bitcoin.
But it is correct that one of the safest is Hardware wallet , actually this is also what I am using now , have just purchased mine months ago and yes now i felt more secure in holding my precious coins.

I agree with you, one of the safest ways to store and keep your Bitcoin holding is by using a hardware wallet because it keeps the private keys offline which gives you an assurance of high-level security from the hackers.
it doesn't just store the Bitcoin or other coins but the private keys that access it which is very important. One of the benefits of using a hardware wallet is its maximum security which is immune to malicious software activities and also as a secured backup option when something happens on your software wallet.
1633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gift to wife. on: October 20, 2023, 11:15:43 PM
Tbh, I still dont think it is a very good idea to give Bitcoin as a gift at wedding or other event that supposed to have romantic notes in it. The only acceptable scenario is when you both are deep into cryptocurrency. Otherwise it looks like a investment, than a present. Similar to case when on St. Valentines day you give her a ring, invite her to a restaurant with candles, and she gives you socks and shaving foam.
In our country, the type of gifts that can be received is something they will use to start their family, something they can use in the future, or if ever they necessarily need it. Normally, gifts such as money or life insurance were also being used as a gift. In my personal view, Bitcoin can be treated the same as I mentioned, providing an investment for your wife may not be romantic for you, but knowing that your partner has an investment plan for both of you, is also being romantic and being practical at the same time.
1634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If we lose in gambling, what do we need to do? on: October 20, 2023, 10:37:02 PM
People even cry when they lose in gambling, probably because they have used the money that was supposed to be used for something else. I find such people to have no brains. A person who is an adult should be able to understand simple things such as that they only have a limited amount of money that is to be used for something already, and if they gamble with it, there is a high possibility that they might lose it because gambling isn't a guaranteed way to earn money and the risk of losing is higher than the possibility of winning.

If they don't think of the outcomes, they shouldn't regret or lose later on because they are basically the ones who decided to spend that money on gambling despite the fact that it wasn't supposed to be used in it. When you know that you can die if you jump in the will, you simply don't jump in it.

People can be very emotional even when they can afford to loose the money used for gambling because they have enough, same people cannot hold ot from shedding tears all because they loose a game they thought they would have won, what makes them cry is because of their failure in such attempts and not because of the money lost at the cause.

But someone like me can never cry because of gambling no matter how, we are not into this today, gambling is already in the bone and we are used to it, when we loose, we learn a lesson more and move on.

Even the person who can afford to lose their money tends to become emotional and that's valid particularly if the loss happens over and over again. If that's the case, why don't you stop for a moment and then play again once your emotion is feeling good? Remember that there's a big risk when you start gambling that's why you must have self-limitations to prevent the obsession with gambling and set a limited amount that may be used in gambling only.
1635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: October 20, 2023, 10:22:11 PM
I think this is too risky most especially if you have family to feed. Even rich people struggle to achieve a balance focus between gambling and a job. How much more those who are going to gamble for a serious money and those who are chasing luck. I think if you are gambling you should make things a balance or else things might go wrong. So treat it just a past time guys don't take it seriously.
But it will still be difficult if they gamble and try to balance everything, especially in gambling, they can lose, which will affect their work. It's best if he doesn't gamble while working and waits until he's finished work and gone home so that if he loses, it won't affect everything because he can go straight to sleep if he can. Playing gambling while working will not work well because we need to focus at work, and we will not see our work become a mess because we experience loss and change our mood while working. So it's best to forget about gambling and focus on your work.

I agree with you, when you're working and gambling at the same time, you can't be focus on both sides. Either you neglected your work or you'll lose in gambling. I suggest to focus on work while working hours then you can play on your idle time or once your shift is done. Let's value our work because it provides us  stable source of income. Be accountable for your actions and always put your best effort into your work.
1636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or keep playing? on: October 20, 2023, 12:43:14 PM
I suggest to cash out your capital and at least 10% of your profit then keep the remaining amount so it could be used on your next game. do not be greedy, Just set a certain limit on yourself once you win and follow your momentum in playing but once you hit the jackpot prize, You can withdraw it all and then allocate the winning prize to your savings and investment. keep a small portion for your leisure and budget for gambling.

Only in the Philippines lang talaga.

1638  Economy / Economics / Re: Cracking the Code of Saving Money... on: October 20, 2023, 11:59:24 AM
We all want to save money, but it's not always easy.
There are so many things that tempt us to spend, unexpected bills that pop up, and it can be hard to make ends meet.
It's not easy if your salary is sufficient only for the needs or you spend more than what you can earn. If that's the case you have to think on how you can increase your income. It's hard to have a problem financially, therefore do something, strive and don't depend to anyone.

I believe that everyone is aware that increasing income is the only solution, but if saving is difficult, increasing income is even more difficult, especially when we are in an economic crisis like today. It sounds easy, but it's really difficult to apply for a job these days.

How do you manage to save in a world that encourages spending?
There are many temptations but if you really want to save then you need to control and discipline yourself. Because nothing will happen if you keep spending and then in times of emergency you'll take a loan because you don't have money.

Compared to increasing income, saving will be somewhat easier because we will be more proactive. But we cannot fix our savings amount because there are many unexpected expenses. We can only limit spending on useless or unnecessary things.

I prefer the solution of increasing income rather than just focusing on saving, so we need to make more efforts even though it is much more difficult.
I've noticed that most people who have a higher income come with a huge cost of expenditure. Seems like it's better to increase your income or add a side hustle while controlling your daily expenses, in that way, you can save more money while making it from your salary. try to avoid or minimize buying things that you know aren't important in your day-to-day living. be wise in handling and spending your money.

1639  Economy / Economics / Re: Young people needs productive mindset to be happy in life on: October 20, 2023, 11:16:52 AM
In my own country, young people have clearly understood that they cannot get anywhere just by getting a university education. However, only a few are trying to do something against this situation. It has been 1.5 years since I graduated and looking at the current situation of my classmates, I can say that only 10-15% of them are trying to do something. The rest seem to be accept their fate.

Especially in my country, young people are now aware that they cannot get anywhere with education alone, so the clever ones try to find income sources and they must find!

The same in our country, Many young generations are working and doing freelancing while studying. Some of them pursue their career and do the things that they want. Youths are aware that not just because you have a diploma, doesn't mean you can live freely with a happy life freely. Pursuing the career path that you want is the key to having a happy and productive life.  However, when it comes to practicality, Some youths are forced to work on a job with a high salary to earn more so they can sustain their needs and wants rather than pursuing the career/job that makes them happy due to the financial crisis.
1640  Economy / Gambling / Re: Crypto Sportsbook to handle large bets? on: October 20, 2023, 10:26:23 AM
I wouldnt encourage anyone to put in millions into crypto sportsbook. Not your keys, not your wallet. If something goes wrong, you basically at high risk of losing your funds. That being said, if I had to put my trust into crypto sportsbook with large amount of funds, I'd suggest Stake and sportsbet.io. I expect them to have high roller level bet limits on popular events. Some of the niche events, like 3-4 th division Soccer or some not so popular esports, expect the max bet to be capped in a couple of hundred dollars max. GL with your gambling, and most importantly, gamble responsibly.
I think op understand what you are trying to pass but this is always going to be individual decision. Like we have seen different casinos in the past crashing and most time the their customers complaining about not getting there funds from the casinos. Sometimes we have seen a condition when some people almost kill led themselves because of the huge funds they left on the casino no knowing that the contrary would happen. We need to learn from previous scene even though we are not the one such thing happen to. Keeping too much fund on casino is never advisable.
Putting all your funds into a crypto sportsbook is not advisable, as you've said if something goes wrong, possible all your funds will be put at a high risk of losing. Casino players need to know how to diversify their funds in different gambling sites to manage or reduce the overall risk. This is my perspective only when it comes to gambling and I don't put all my money to the point that there's nothing left in my pocket. I understand that this is an individual decision that's why we need to spread this information and let's try to educate the gamblers on how to become responsible player.
