I'm just going to leave this here :

Seasteader in legal troubles, platform to be removed......

https://www.bangkokpost.com/news/general/1661300/seastead-couple-in-crosshairs

Edit: He's possibly in very big trouble here if they proceed with the charges as mentioned.

Ack! Death Penalty! Really!

Expecting at least one more dump and that'll be the one I am going to put lots of real money on btc. If it directly heads towards $50-100k without making that dump however, It is still fine by me but that's not what I expect.

That'll be the one I'll probably take my stack to double digits.

That is exactly the reason why the big dump won't happen. You and many others will have to buy at $10k+ when you will finally realize there will be no dump.  Cool  Go BTC go!

So what your saying is there are enough 'idio....er...' I mean 'enlightened types like myself in FULL HODL MODE who won't crack under the pressure till say over $10k.

Damn, I hope you are right. This last year I feel like I'm alone, standing in a blizzard with no clothes' Sad

If you haven’t cracked on the way down, you won’t crack on the way up.

That is my greatest fear (or truth) that I'm 'simply cracked'. Sad

All things considered, I have been on www.bitcointalk.org for 6 years as of yesterday..there likely is no hope. Sad

I'm just like those old guys, that collect cats and put $$$ in the couch. In my case it is crypto. (sad, sad) Sad

1623  Other / Meta / Re: How Many Years on Bitcointalk? Take the Poll! on: April 14, 2019, 09:45:21 PM
I found this forum through a colleague who is addicted to bitcoin. I have been here for more than 3 years now. Got interested in trading and mining crypto. There are some interesting reads here so I got hooked.

I think this topic should be moved to meta.

I think you have to contact a moderator....don't think I can do that (or should I say don't know how) Sad

If the moderator trips over this and does not think this is the proper area..he will inform me and move it...I figure.

1624  Other / Meta / Re: How Many Years on Bitcointalk? Take the Poll! on: April 14, 2019, 08:33:05 PM
Although I knew about bitcoin since 2014, but this year is my 4th year in this forum.
Don't you think it is better to move this topic to Meta Board, as it is forum related topic while this board is for general bitcoin discussion?

Unsure, how I'd go about doing that. Currently, this board is under Bitcoin Discussion. In that, it is a poll of when you started and your Newbie Roots

It should be OK. I suppose if not a Bitcointalk Moderator will tell me and I'll have him move it as you suggest.

p.s. no one in the poll over 6 years on www.bitcointalk.org yet it seems.
1625  Other / Meta / Re: How Many Years on Bitcointalk? Take the Poll! on: April 14, 2019, 08:31:25 PM
Amazing. 54% joined Bitcointalk in 2016 and in the earlier years. So I assume these guys have already made a lot of profit and are probably holding to some coins for another possible bullrun!

So, 46% are probably underwater if they didn't sell during the parabolic climb.  Tongue

Not sure about profit....the 'hopefully enlightened' HODL mode .....(in my case) is in full 'idiot' swing, however...

chump or champ we will see. I do know that even if all goes full Tulips for BTC and Crypto. 1/2 of my hoard (plus 3 BTC) I will just be buried with

and my Trezor...worthless or not. (The original BTC I made on my KNC Jupiter BTC miner in 2013 a 'mental promise' to a deceased buddy) (R.I.P. Qazz)

So I have a floor..now if I crack above that % plus 3 BTC...that has yet to be seen in full. So I do have a 'thou shall not pass' floor on all this. Tulips

or Triumph.

I have joined this forum on August 05, 2015 So my account will be 4 years on August 05, this 2019 Well from the beginning of joining this site I don't have a clue on what to do and how to earn and cryptocurrency that I can imagine will be having a value, But past is past and back then it was questioning mostly all in the forum that I got to the top and establish my way in earning a sum, But for the years that have past it seems that in learning this forum site I can say that it is not really easy getting involved in the world of cryptocurrency and making your way to 1 Bitcoin.

As to making coin...I am now out of mining and am 'attic mining' ...selling stuff in the attic I would otherwise 'die with' and putting it into crypto.

Hey, its something. IF on the hope BTC goes back to the ATH I will look like a genius. IF BTC goes 'tulips' I will have an empty attic and turn it into

a Rec Room and my house goes-up $15k in value or past the ATH in price again. Win/Win. It is boring as heck to sell crap on eBay though. The pictures and eBay itself is much easier,

it is digging the crap out and finding a box. The cheap $50 postage mail scale works dandy. Boing....but this is the only way. Attic Mining. That I can still 'home mine'

in a sense and at least generate some dust BTC.

I suppose you also could go to estate sales or rummage sales on the weekends and flip stuff thru eBay to BTC as well.

Anyway, I have to have faith that BTC will go up another 2 to 7 times and this 'dust' attic mining project would all work out.

Also, for simplification, I just eat the fees and the shipping and add that to the BTC dust purchases after the sale. Worth it not to get into accounting

on this kinda stuff....just move it all to BTC with the majority of the $$$ made (or I should say all) with shipping and handling on eBay matched into BTC

for each sale. Made $900 bucks (including the s/h and fees) into BTC dust. I also put it at the tail end of my HODL BTC address...so I'm not tempted to

blow it. As it works now, each sale is the LAST BTC I could get to ..to sell....so all will come out ...if I ever sell this dust as Long Term Capital Gains.

This may be a 'crummy' angle, but gives me the illusion that I'm at least 1/2 assed getting some BTC and cleaning out my attic!

As an aside to Satoshi starting bitcointalk. Looks like the fake satoshi (Craig Wright) is in for a lot of pain.

https://twitter.com/PeterMcCormack/status/1117448742892986368

Anyway. Looks like he has some folk that wishes to give him his day in court to prove he is Satoshi.

(Ancient Chinese Curse: May you live in "Interesting Times")

Anyway, we could clear this up quickly on my small little thread here if Satoshi https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3 would simply post here and take the poll.

I'm sure he will get right on that. Smiley

Anyway, back to your newbie stories on how you found BTC and when you started on www.bitcointalk.org

1629  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 14, 2019, 06:14:15 PM
McCormack's response to the letters he received from CSW and Ayre. Funny as hell !

https://twitter.com/PeterMcCormack/status/1117448742892986368

Damn, that escalated quickly...of course, Craig Wright (delusional that he is) has the burden of proof .to PROVE he is Satoshi

thus he just flub'd big time..in that the above states...they want this to go to court.

lol

Any oldster's out there...I made a poll on when you started on www.bitcointalk.org any past Newbie horror stories you'd

care to share on your delving into the crypto universe...(I was such a clueless newbie...sheesh)

Anyway, interesting to see how it all shakes out, newer folk vs older folk on this forum.

now back to our regularly speculative thoughts...(please, please, try to stop the below $3k in the future discussions...I may cry) Sad

I am just three years old on this forum and it has been a great time since then, before I discovered this forum I have lost found amounting to $2000 to various ponzi schemes and scammers all in the quest to owning bitcoin. But ever since I got into the forum I have not lost any found again cause I have gain adequate knowledge about how the market works and how to own and protect my bitcoin.

We've all been there.

It is treacherous being a Newbie back in the day with crypto. (hell, probably still is. And I am too clueless to see the latest dangers)

1632  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 14, 2019, 05:17:41 PM
Wondering who are thinking that we will go back to $3k 🤔

I actually think there is a good chance we will briefly see the high $2Ks in a final wave 5 shakeout.

It could be but it would be more likely to not go back THAT LOW I think... ( yeah i'm the I don't know guy sorry)

If I would of voted NO then its the "I HOPE VOTE" Smiley

I just dumped a wad into crypto...if it goes below 3k I will be despondent...

you makes your bets, you takes your lumps, I guess

Well. It seems that yesterday was my 6th Year Anniversary on www.bitcointalk.org. April 13th, 2013 was the day I tripped over bitcoin
after doing a Google Search. By the end of the week, I was $8.3k in. (Butterfly Labs, one of the few who did as a dumb newbie a year or so later
get my refund...barely....a week later the SEC raided BFL...damn I was dumb)

I digress. But if only I knew what I knew then, etc thus my current efforts to 'attic mine' crap I would otherwise die with. So selling the crap out of my attic and put into
BTC and crypto. Hoping for 1 more at least 7x price increase. Have to have some skills after 6 years into BTC and a guy can hope. Keeps at least some 'dust' coming in.

Anyway, just made a quick poll. I am unsure when www.bitcointalk.org even 'launched' (if anyone knows?)

So the poll may not go back far enough. Let me know the day and year www.bitcointalk.org launched and I will 'tweak' the poll.

Take the poll and post below. Also, post on how you found out about BTC and any NEWB stories and also how you found www.bitcointalk.org below

Thus this thread should make a 'cringe-worthy' read of NEWB's falling into the crypto universe. I know that my foray into BTC was less than sophisticated.

Again, at least take the poll.

thanks

brad

edit: found this https://www.freevaluator.com/ seems www.bitcointalk.org is worth a bit of $$$. Says the site has been around 8 years.
So it was started in 2011.

Damn, that is a lot of $$$ for a domain name!

edit #2

Seems the www.bitcointalk.org forum was started in November 22nd, 2009. I will fix the poll.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5129680.msg50522659#msg50522659

My Thanks to TryNinja https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=557798 who
posted the info below and the above link.

So from what we know from the above: www.bitcointalk.org started November 22nd, 2009 by Satoshi Nakamoto https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satoshi_Nakamoto

1637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: April 12, 2019, 10:21:22 PM
1000LSK balance will earn you a reward of 7+ LSK a month if you just spend 2 LSK voting for GDT, Sherwood, and a few Independents. $2000 for 1000 LSK gives you a $14 return each month which is better than most bank accounts. Really we need more delegates like Sherwood that are forging. Sherwood takes up 6 votes and only has about 3-4 that are forging. 4 delegates is about ~1/25th of the 101 forging delegates. If all the delegates were all like sherwood you would be earning 100+ lisk a month for voting with 1000LSK. That's why I only use 2 LSK to vote and refuse to vote for any delegate/pool sharing very little rewards.

Yes it's true that voting for a delegate sharing 20% who is forging will yield you more rewards than voting for a delegate who would share 70% who isn't in a forging position. A lot of people have that mindset, and it causes those 20% delegates stay in a forging position. If those voters changed their ways... their 1000LSK could have double the impact. (1000 LSK voting power removed from a delegate sharing 20% and 1000 LSK voting power moved to a delegate sharing 70%)

I'm hoping the system changes in the future. Maybe they will allow for more delegates, or maybe they will make delegates sit out after X turns unless they share a certain amount. Either way, if you have 1000LSK definitely vote. I think it's worth spending 2 LSK to vote as long as you have at least 300LSK (Currently $600 investment). Keep in mind if you believe in LSK, now is the time to be accumulating. Imagine your 7 LSK return from voting rewards when LSK is back up to even half of its ATH.

Not a chance of changing...the LISK whales forging are locked in...any attempt to change they would dump LISK and blow the price down by 80%...so it just is
not gonna happen ...at least not at $1.92 LISK vs $30 LISK IMHO...it is a unicorn day dream....indeed it probably will lead to less lisk delegates forging and more
consolidation and less payouts...again IMHO...the LISK whales forging have all the power and few rules.

Your taxes helped poor people and an overwhelming amount of illegal aliens get basic healthcare!?

FTFY. Would rather have put ACA money into building the wall, to mitigate the arguable open border and flood of illegal immigration we are dealing with.

Also, I draw the line at my tax dollars being used for third trimester abortions, in the name of "basic healthcare".

Hi Bob

Many of the illegal immigrants are primarily entering the US for jobs.   If you turn off the jobs tap, then many will not come. It will be very effective immigration control.

Do you support making it illegal to employ illegal immigrants, with jail time for US employers who violate the law?

Not true in the last couple of years....lots of women with kids and families....the countries they are running from are a cesspool...even being stranded in Mexico
and never making it to the USA is preferable for most...

but the law says in the USA if you present yourself to Immigration authorities and can prove you are in danger...you can get a  hearing on staying in the USA...so

IMHO it is not the people coming ..it is the lack of diplomatic and other efforts in the countries they are coming from that are unraveling...

only going to get worse with climate change and the wars for resources I see coming in the next 20 years....

interesting to see what will happen to this coin when the majority of the knc titans are shut off on around May 15th due to USA increase in electric rates for the summer

just saying a 33% hike for 5 months in most of USA. Damn hard to get a heating benefit in the summer!
