@Trofo @cryptofrka I couldn't agree more with your assessment. One penalty is almost a gift to the opponent, and it almost makes it a penalty for everyone else in the league (it's free points).

I definitely didn't enjoy my victory in a round where my opponent had a penalty (the actual outcome was a draw so I got 2 free points). If I win (haha) by a point or two, it would not feel good for me, or those in 2nd/3rd place.

But there's no good way to do it, and this method we have, I have no issue with. Best we got, really.

BTW cool video shared with the Mbappe deepfakes -- I always said women's football at top level has good technical skill -- but off-the ball skills, formation, defence, and goalkeeping are far off the mark. Still some ways to go in terms of development.

Yup, avoid women's sport like the plague Grin
Except maybe volleyball and MMA Grin
In all other women sports it is better to always bet more on underdogs to win.
This sounds like a perfect sport for buwaytress betting strategy and maybe he wins Sportsbet Million-Dollar Challenge Grin

I'm off to a bad start, picked the first rounds to be all underdog wins but high-scoring haha. Did not expect 1-0 wins. Fixing up the next rounds to reflect this new outlook.

Bit difficult for me to access betting right now on my poor connection but I popped my WWC cherry with this special today:

Hey guys! A bit quiet from me for the next few days am somewhat incapacitated -- nevertheless BSFL season2 spreadsheet is always pen on my phone, gives me something to look forward to every day!

TdF is paying off so far for those backing Vine, quite lucky to get 2/2 so far -- women's football didn't harm me as Ige is same as me (sorry Ige about your sidebet offer, you know I would take it but I saw it too late!).

Even men's volleyball is already 2/4 through, we're all doing quite well so far.

Not related but I saw Benteke in the MLS all-star friendly vs Arsenal. Blast from the past!

Holy crap I almost forgot my submission haha, just sent it off a minute ago. Timezone a dangerous thing!

Anyway, what are you guys talking about, there's absolutely no luck involved. Except if I finish near the bottom like last season, and out of cups. That's bad luck. Cause I'm seriously an expert across all sports and I know what I'm talking about.

Here's my useless tip for the Golf question: Rory McIlroy, the favourite to win this British Open is from Northern Ireland... which is actually part of the UK.

@slackovic @notblox1
Haha yeah I know, was just messing about... always interesting the way some sports are named when they look nothing like their namesakes Wink I would have called it water handball, since it looks much closer to that to me as an outside observer. But I know, I know, nobody asked me.

I looked it up actually and it was actually water "pulu", from the Tibetan word for "ball". But the English couldn't pronounce it and called it polo, apparently. And it was actually a form of rugby, or football, before the modern version.

Oi oi, where else can you find another book making some bets off on their summer negotiations, eh? (hint: nowhere else)

Business as usual, of course, and everyone's gotta do what's good for them, I know I'm not trying to be facetious if I say I believe the Gooners will be the one missing the partnership more..!

I see people already putting in Toons as the new beau, Luton Town hasn't finished their stadium yet so are postponing their opening game and, by the way, are fierce rivals with another SB ex (Watford), though they haven't actually played games much in the last few decades -- do I smell something cooking there?
1646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: my small investment on: July 18, 2023, 09:00:10 AM
OP is already profitable, but honestly, his investment is insignificant, so there's no need to celebrate. What he needs to do is find a way to generate more income and save more money to invest in bitcoin if he wants to get bigger things in the future. If he stops with that small capital even if bitcoin reaches 100k, the profit will be negligible and does not make any breakthrough for life. Bitcoin is not an investment that can make him rich with just a small amount of capital.

I would really like to disagree here. I started saving my first coins for extremely small jobs, amounts that seem insignificant to me today, 7 years later. $4 per job was how I started out, no kidding. That's where the beauty of DCA will pay dividends. Of course, BTC was around $400 then and I don't expect it to grow x70 in 2030 (but hey, who knows) -- but even a halving period makes a difference in all the hard work you put in with DCA over a period of years.

OP, as any person would, should earn more as they become more skillful, over time. This should also mean their disposable income grows. Bigger buys with time. I'd celebrate the starting out, it's the habitualising that's hard to do.

Walking around now eating street food (literally) and just so nice that Fintech advancements here in the global south means you can walk up to a guy with a stall on the road, order some food or snack and pay with a qr code or phone number.

Zero fees. Instant. No change needed. The tiniest bit of data needed, if not even sms works.

Even with Lightning I can't imagine that same ease or convenience. Can you?
1648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏁🏎️ Sportsbet.io🏁 FORMULA 1 2023 Season🏁🏎️Prediction Pool Discussion Thread on: July 17, 2023, 04:41:03 PM
Dumb question here, and I feel like I've asked before, so forgive the repetition if so but -- sprint doesn't change anything on how we put in predictions, right? It's just a different way of qualification and we still enter picks before Saturday to get the EB points?

I'm wondering if it's wise to go for a repeat of last time around, when Hammie got 2nd place. Am aware it's all different engines now and all that also, but odds are dropping all around behind Max, and Hamilton's still a podium fav only slightly behind Perez.

Also, if Ricciardo's really being set up for RB, is he worth a top 10 in AT?
1649  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 7000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: July 17, 2023, 01:16:14 PM
Cool round of questions, Cro2! F1 is the trickiest for me, and I think whomever ends up on podium will win it for their country, but a couple of them bunched up together near the top also does the job. Tricky, tricky! BTW, is it strange that the team names in this round sound eerily familiar? I feel like I've heard of Faze and Vitality even though this is surely my first time even looking up this tourney. I've a feeling I heard a lot of CS mentions in my youth is why.

Golf, of course, will be a four-sided die. I don't think anyone can call the favourite a strong one. Looking forward to this already!

Jeremypwr submitted 2 questions, one for MMA and one for box.

Represent!

regarding next week questions, there is a Waterpolo championship, and grand finale is next Sunday, so maybe it could be included
most probably many people not familiar with it, but I presume that Cro2 is following since you are good in that one

It's where people on horseback try to smack a ball with some kind of long stick, except splashing around in water, right?

^^^Think Alcaraz won a lot of money for a lot of people eh notblox1 and boltz? Just a shame I couldn't really get myself to put bets on live, odds for him should have jumped to at least 6/1 after the tame concession in the first set.

Today I also, for the first time in my life, clicked on Volleyball and Golf in Sportsbet, courtesy of Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL). Markets are only showing outrights at the moment, but it's enough to tell me who's who and who's considered good enough to win.

Specials page has been empty for a time, but I expect SB office is at least partially busy this summer getting new stuff in the works.

P.S. Now I checked Bet-6-6 properly, I realise it's 1 million across 5 games. 5 chances to win $200k, actually, preferable Wink
1651  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: NFT Idea: Prove Funds to Mint on: July 17, 2023, 10:24:43 AM
DOX yourself as a whale to mint, yeah, don't think there are many Bitcoiners who'd want to do that.

Do recall some years back Byteball (rebranded to Giga last I checked) distributing to Bitcoin holders, think a lot of other projects tried the same, that was perhaps similar in idea, if not execution.

I don't even have much coins but I might claim a minnow NFT if I didn't think the network already had enough bloat.
1652  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin expected (implied) volatility below 50: Sign for a bull run? on: July 17, 2023, 07:52:23 AM
Might not be such a fresh indicator for some, but certainly at the back of my head I've always had it in my gut that when it's been majority sideways for a really long time, it's the calm before a storm. Now, whether that means volatility following a bull or a bear, never been able to tell.

It's the age old conundrum. Low volatility suggests consolidation for a show of strength. But is it for the bull or bear? I doubt there's strong evidence to point to either side, and even the chart seems 50/50 in either direction, correlating low volatility, and spikes, with price direction.
1653  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot - Crash with the lowest house edge on: July 16, 2023, 05:02:04 PM
^^ 2.5% is lower than competitors? I don't play crash but then it makes me wonder just how high it is elsewhere... maybe I'm "old-fashioned" but 1% standard set by crypto dice places seems to be the low benchmark -- given that licensed casinos do compete well these days for close to 1%.

That said, the high-roller limit will always appeal to the anon whale. I'll have to give this place a check another date not too far away. Been a while!
1654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 7000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: July 16, 2023, 04:07:31 PM
@Harko let's hope this holds and continues for a while. Am following but only on text, still pretty good weirdly enough!

I don't see you in spreadsheet, so are you are free this round*
===

I am jumping on few of them but I have to be more strategic than last season and correct some mistakes I made.

Yeah, Div 1 privileges. It's only going to get harder, and Div2 and 3 are full of the cream anyway so I don't expect anything easy in round 2.

I have no idea what to do different for the pools, honestly, except maybe to ensure that I don't miss picks... I was very near UCL prizes (in relation to where I was I mean) until I missed my picks for an entire Last 16 round, essentially eliminating myself from that pool.

So far no misses on BSFL, that would be disastrous!

Are we ready lads ? ATP FINAL today and the entire worlds awaits this titan battle between Alcaraz and Djokovic. I said yesterday that I will go with 5 total sets and that's what I'm going to do as the current odds @ 2.95 which is pretty appealing in my opinion.

What surprises me is the fact that Djokovic is favorite in this one but Alcaraz had the strongest opponents to fight to reach the final but I guess the experience of Djokovic and the fact that he won Rolland Garros against Alcaraz made him favorite in this one as well. Anyway, I'm sure we are set up for an epic tennis match in about 3 hours.

Odds as always , can be found here -> https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/tennis/atp/wimbledon-men-singles/alcaraz-garfia-carlos-v-djokovic-novak-64b18af4c450ad000123a0e9  Cool

Can't believe I'm saying this but did not putting any money down. Pre-match just couldn't get my juices flowing, and the game will be far too late for me to stay up to try and see to the end as am in a temporary timezone putting me 6 hours ahead of normal.

5 sets, hope you're right. I think it's 3-0 or 3-1, with a tiebreaker. And second set does look like it's setting up for that.

Djoko obv fav only because of their last match, so def value on Alcaraz here!
1656  Economy / Gambling / Re: This guy gave a whole prototype of "how live roulette scam us" on: July 16, 2023, 10:30:53 AM
If we talk about getting caught, I don't think that an old casino with an experienced team and staff will get caught for cheating the gamblers because they will probably have enough experience about everything within the casino and they can easily manage to do things that no one would ever notice since there is already so much noise and so many people that no one would notice every small detail about the game or what is happening in or around the game.

I believe newer and bankrupted casinos can be more vulnerable to this, if they try and cheat their gamblers, knowing there are fewer players and no one would notice but they will eventually get nervous and give it away because the team wouldn't be as experienced as the other restaurants around.

You're putting the cart before the horse. An old casino with an experienced team etc wouldn't need to cheat in the first place.

As explained above, you've already got house edge. And in offline casinos, it's way, way higher than what we're used to with crypto PF games (man I really am spoilt honestly by dice especially).

You're thinking small. And new/bankrupted casinos yeah, would have to think small to cheat.

It is hands down the best feature for me, very easy to implement and yet only Sportsbet has it.
This, I’m a hard core player on sportsbet and the other 2 sister company. They offer the real instant deposit (doesn’t require confirmation) and they offer free withdrawal on top of that real quick deposit. This trio casino is what I’m using based on what type gambling games I’m playing. They also have same loyalty rewards structures that feels home even if I play on the 3 different casino.

Yeah, the days of 6 confirmations is from a very different era. Most places have at least put it down to a single confirmation -- but with Bitcoin's certainty, 0 confirmations without any double spend detected should be very easy for modern wallets to see. Most dice sites have been doing it for years, so yeah, crypto books seem to be lagging behind, glad SB isn't one of them.

My only "issue" is Sportsbet still hasn't switched to bech32. I think it's a software issue, but not a big deal of course. Just a very, very minor deep-brain annoyance.

Heh. He definitely was. And the strange thing is, in all my FJ life here, I never once claimed a code. Did enjoy a few really awesome freedrops to my account (probably after losing pretty amounts too though haha).

Still keeping an eye here for the upcoming football season in Europe.

MajSev redux?

@Mahdirakatib ah thanks, I'll delete the duplicate
1659  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot - Crash with the lowest house edge on: July 15, 2023, 12:44:27 PM
What a blast from the past... was an MP user, mainly with Bit-Exo and had the fortune to withdraw my global bankroll contribution shortly before that famous "hack" heh. Was even with them when previous owners rebranded and took this as part of their suite.

I'm actually still amazed people still want to go for crash games, but it does give me hope that dice and crash survive, and continue to remind us of how crypto brought some innovation to gambling.

Now I wonder if the global bankroll concept for gambling apps could be exhumed and given new life (heh heh).
