What do you mean by "backed"?

i think what i mean with backed is the blockchain then.. could the developers change something? like changing the limit to 22m btc?
They can change the protocol rules but if users don't want to change to the modified version they can stay with the old rules (and a fork with old rules will likely be developped by another team of devs)

1. Leave the newbie jail
2. Put a paid signature
3. Spam senseless posts everywhere to be paid

hey everyone!

i was wondering: theres a anonymous guy who invented bitcoin. but there are now a numerous of other coins + developer teams..

so who develops bitcoin and like.. is there a possibilty that like the bitcoin system could simply been shut down?

until now i always thought ok so many ppl are trusting btc so i guess this cant be an issue but i just wanted to ask, sorry for newbie question Smiley

is the bitcoin system simply backed by all users who use the client?

peace from austria
You can find the developpers of Bitcoin here: https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/graphs/contributors
As long as at least one copy of the blockchain exists, Bitcoin can't be shut down

This kind of threads should be deleted anyway
It's a service announcement so AT THE VERY LEAST it should be moved to the corresponding subforum

This one made 251 useless posts just to be paid more for his signature

It seems you're trying to make quick profit from CPA publishing, nothing wrong with that. To all users posting this may be a scam, please stop. A mod has already edited the OP with this warning, thats more than enough. Give the guy a chance. I don't think anyone with big wallets would participate in these kind of programs, so malware is pretty pointless.

Always use your brain and participate at your own risk, always. OP has answered accusations sufficiently, and no one is forcing anyone to participate.

By what you wrote, you seem more distrustful than the OP... so you're either in on this racket, have a similar racket yourself, or are just one of those people who knows more than everyone else. If you've seen scams on this forum, it usually takes big bold letters stating it is a scam before some people will stop and think. And even with the big bold letters there are still people who will completely ignore it and ask how they get their free bitcoins.

If you want free bitcoins (or fractions of bitcoins) to play with, look for faucets.

Innocent until proven guilty, thats what I go by.
Not in Bitcoin world
Definitely not in the newbie jail

- snip -
Advances in mathematics/computing will make these calculations feasible after decades at most.
- snip -

What calculations?  Brute force?  No, you are mistaken.  Brute force of 256 bit will not be feasible.
with quantum computing in the distant future there is no reason to say it could not happen

I'll try to inflate a wallet and see how the recovery behaves.

Good. As a last resort I'd be willing to remove the vanity/funded keys from this wallet and send it to you.
Thanks
I hope it won't be necessary though

Thanks for the answer Jack, i still get this error, see captures of web and console interfaces:

PS. "unknown" is my username in this computer, not that the user name is unknown for the system or whatever problem you might figure out of it Smiley
Is Bitcoin running when you do this?
