1701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UN to offer cryptocurrency aid to Ukraine refugees, questionable rationale,, on: December 19, 2022, 03:33:23 PM

that's for sure. the refugees will more than likely to buy BTC after receiving USDC. its gonna be a free money turned investment.

Will this result in the crypto market being energized again? What do you think?

i couldn't be sure. but the when US provides stimi during covid lockdowns, many of them are buying coins and altcoins. its not going to be surprising if they are going to do it again after all they are receiving USDC which they only need gas fee to send it to an exchange. so they would need Stellar (XLM) for the gas fee? I'm not familiar with XLM actually but it will be cheaper for its current price is just $0.07.
1702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UN to offer cryptocurrency aid to Ukraine refugees, questionable rationale,, on: December 19, 2022, 04:57:42 AM

that's for sure. the refugees will more than likely to buy BTC after receiving USDC. its gonna be a free money turned investment.
providing the refugees with aide will do good but the better for them to have a job which, they should just build factories or hire them to companies in the city.

UN using crypto such as stablecoin on Stellar blockchain does look like an adoption. nothing is more important than to provide for the refugees though whichever kind of currency will do.
1703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: December 18, 2022, 05:55:25 PM
Its not too early for this thread because the films that could be put into betting will be released now or they wont qualify.  There is some debate as the quality of the film and its reception generally, some people will always hate a particular film but it can win anyway.
so I believe he should be well nominated and who knows, maybe even take the statuette in 2023, we'll see!

I'm also betting big on Colin Farrell's feature film, he received the longest applause of the event so far: there were 13 uninterrupted minutes of applause, if I were there my hands would be red Tongue

Changing gender a bit, I also believe that Cate Blanchett is the main bet for the 2023 Oscar.
Fraser is popular man of the moment, just a nomination would be a big come back from the abyss and a nomination is a kind of win; they advertise nominations during film promotions so its a win for both company and actor really.   However I dont actually believe he will win, I remain unconvinced so far but we got time to decide yet.

Of the three I'd expect Cate Blanchett is with the best chance I've been a fan for 25 years or so shes done the legwork for sure & I need to watch Farrell's film.

i did watched the fecking movie i don't know why but probably because i saw this thread last week. its tragicomedy just as described. cutting fingers all because his friend still talks to him despite how hard he pushed him away is too extreme. aye the movie had won awards in Ireland already and Farrel won Volpi Cup best actor.

and the movie features the best scenery of the fecking beautiful island. best pictures if not. swear not to fecking watch this kind of film. avatar 2 isn't nominee afaik.
1704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another Bitcoin purchase for the dip. on: December 18, 2022, 04:33:37 PM

like they said, invest the money you can afford to lose. you will still be happy as its liberating to have something that no one can get from you in times of uncertainty. congrats happy DCAing.

when you finally made it to the bull market, you definitely have the right to take your share. exciting days ahead if this binance fud is the last of the bears.
1705  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.us social casino review- Play legally at Stake in US on: December 18, 2022, 04:24:31 PM
Will the gambler be required to sign up on Stake.us the same way we sign up on stake.com?
And this gold coins, what is the mode of payment for the gold coins? is it crypto or credit card or both? i would like to know for clarity sake..
And i want to also believe that all the games and features available on stake.com are also provided on stake.us?
You can try and check the website even if you are outside US, but you won't be able to proceed with it and will be blocked with this message "Sorry Stake.us is only available to customers from the United States, try Stake.com" however that information you asked are available on the website support.

Anyways, yes, they will need to register on the platform to play. Unfortunately, since I wasn't able to access the platform, I cannot provide an answer if it has the same games with Stake.com.

About Gold Coins, it was explained on the website. Here is information from Stake.us about Gold coins and Stake Cash.
Quote from: https://stake.us/
Gold coins - What are the gold coins and how to earn them?

The first thing you need to know is that Gold Coins have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed into prizes.
Gold coins are tokens that you can use to play our games for fun and entertainment.

How to earn Gold Coins?

You can earn Gold coins in a few different ways:
By registering on the site
By logging in every day
Through promotional activities
Purchase of bundles
Quote from: https://stake.us/
Exchanging Gold coins for Stake cash - Can you convert GC to SC or redeem GC?

Stake.us operates in virtual token currencies, Gold Coins and Stake Cash.
Gold Coins are a virtual token currency that has no monetary value and they cannot be redeemed for any value whatsoever. They can only be used for entertainment.
Gold Coins are not in any way redeemable, refundable or exchangeable for any other currency.
Stake Cash is another virtual token currency that we have on the website, and it has no monetary value either. It cannot be purchased, it can only be obtained through free, promotional offers.
Stake Cash can also be redeemed as a prize in a form of a crypto.

From my own experience I have a friend in Washington, and his experience in stake.us is very good, some time ago he told me that I would recommend some casino sites that he wanted to play, of course I told him stake.com, but at that time I didn't He was authorized for the USA, so I had to tell him that there were other opportunities but with crypto, he had to buy Bitcoin, which he did not like very much due to the fact that he is unaware of the scope of Blockchain technology and the benefits that bitcoin has, Just 2 days ago I spoke with him, he told me that the casino that I recommended to him from stajke.us is very good, that now all he does is play there. The policies seem phenomenal to him and he doesn't see a problem, he says that so far it doesn't affect him at all.

he must be using VPN then because Washington as said above is restricted due to its state gambling law. someone from a restricted state might not be able to withdraw his money when they look into his account.

Stake.us is made for US gamblers and Stake simply comply with the laws. its confusing when the support says .US is not run by Stunna.
1706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency (Bitcoin) Can't Be Stopped on: December 18, 2022, 11:03:19 AM
they would have stopped Bitcoin when it was still at the very start back in 2009 but even then there were already lots of developers creating their own blockchain coins. even the doge can't be stopped.

FTX collapse use as clause by law makers to regulate crypto and the first thing they do is to contain Binance. Gensler was asking to have control over crypto regulations to all countries which is really not acceptable even to the tiniest country's sovereignty.
1707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NFT Speculation on: December 18, 2022, 10:30:10 AM
I think it's going to be the next one to be regulated? I read news before that NFT are the new honeypot for criminals to launder their money by buying those expensive art?

Not sure if this is true though, but it makes sense, sense other "loopholes" in crypto has been closed already by regulators, so the criminals will have to find another way to sort of mix and hide their illegal money.

So just matter of time before regulators comes with their heavy hammer and go to NFT space and crack it down.

Its a perfect place to launder money.

1- you have stolen/dirty founds on your ETH wallet
2- you create new, empty ETH wallet, not connected to first one and create shitty art with monkey
3- you put shitty art with monkey on sale for 1 mln$
4- you use dirty/stolen founds to buy art
5- you end up with 1 mln $ clean founds from selling art on 1 eth adress and shitty art with monkey on "dirty wallet'.

Fun fact is that this shitty art with monkey has trade history of being sold for 1 mln $. So its possible that you will find newbie who will buy it for 10k$ (because its down 99%).

I'm sure that 90% of big NFT trades, that everyone is excited about was just an example of scam explained above.

true that. hard to sell the NFT unless its attractively famous done by the popular artist as well. it just negate the purpose of laundering which is to liquidate to cash out clean. the launderer wouldn't really consider selling the $1M worth of NFT and sell it to $10k to which you already said an newbie will not spend a dime.

Donald Trump NFTs are sold out though. but that is what i mean by popular entity releasing his own. Trumps NFT is not really impressive but its sold out or maybe he is also the one laundering 99$ worth each.

1708  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: SIM Registration: Anong Dapat Ipag-alala? on: December 17, 2022, 02:54:26 PM

1709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Huge Binance outflows - should we be concerned? on: December 17, 2022, 02:45:48 PM
US wants to regulate the crypto market but they are not the ones to decide where this market will go, not even us users of BTC. the free market will decide and there will be people who will be using Binance as their storage just as the people do before 2022.

the FTX scam may teach the millions of users not to store their coins on exchanges but later when this market gain back the momentum, another incoming investors will do the same.

they wanna find faults to Binance. but because of the lack of regulations in US, Binance will also push back to what they want which causes all these fuss. It already cause a downturn so were all in it.

you can't tell who could win though by just the odds but that's the odds. but i saw same predictions so you are not the only who is seeing the same possibility. but Strickland has more experienced, he lost against periera but that's because its periera. he's a bad ass who beats champions.

i'm more surprise with what you plan to buy. many clothes and champagne lol why not just beer, rum or whiskey.
1711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is There Any Crypto Casino With An In-built Mini Crypto Exchange? on: December 16, 2022, 07:24:28 AM
I don't think they'd ever bother for the most part really. Most casinos would probably do (or have done) is let us view it in terms of a specific currency (local ones or USD most often), and that should work since they still technically think that the money involved would be the same in general, whether it was converted from Bitcoin to say, XRP or any other coin. There's also the legal side of things that they probably don't want to touch. I never really took the time to find one or check if the casinos I play at have it, and there are a bunch of answers from others already anw.

Plus, you want to avoid fees but I don't think you'd be able to avoid those regardless if you use a built-in exchange from their casino or through your usual method, they might even ask for more imo.

legal issues i guess would be the problem for it. but there have been casinos with built-in exchanges long ago. not seen one anymore. crypto.games may have retained its build-it. i tried to withdraw WAVES from BTC if memory serves.

But most of them today will just allow you to buy crypto. Stakes for example will allow you to buy some altcoins thru their gateway.
1712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This forum looks more like Altcoin Price Discussion on: December 16, 2022, 07:16:23 AM
Nearly all threads involve some price discussion.

At least on the bitcoin side, you can find some interesting technical discussion in
Bitcoin Forum > Bitcoin > Development & Technical Discussion

I wish there was something similar for altcoins, where no price or investment discussion was allowed...

you can try going to the ANN thread of the coin/token. that's where they often discuss the details of the project. after some time though the dev team rarely goes back to answer questions technical discussions but just an update of what they are doing at least.

if you want to find out the altcoins development, go to the telegram channel, they will reply or to their blogs.
1713  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: SIM Registration: Anong Dapat Ipag-alala? on: December 16, 2022, 06:34:35 AM
Upside:
  - Potentially less spam from scammers

This is one of the reasons kung bakit ok ako sa ganitong panukala.  Ang daming mga spam messages coming from scammers.  Minsan nakairita na rin talaga.

Downside:
  - Less privacy
  - Another government entity having access to personal data hence👇
  - More potential data breaches (very common sa bansa natin)

In general, it's a no for me. Though unfortunately wala naman tayong choice lol.

Filipino data had already been breached worst ay iyon pang data ng mga voters from COMELEC ang naleak so I think we have less worries about this (expect na maleleak ulit ang data natin) Grin.

Having privacy is great pero we need to follow the regulations kaya labag man sa loob natin ay wala talaga tyong magagawa kung hindi magregister ng ating mga sim under our names.

Cheesy  or kasapi ng Bayan Muna which is bansagan kang NPA.
1714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future Outlook of Tron (TRX) - It can be next Ethereum? on: December 16, 2022, 06:25:38 AM
Yea TRX have great adoption. Is accepted in ATMs all over the words (one of few coins achieved that). It have decent traffic - one of the best but the problem with TRX investment is the USDT risk. Tether (cheap usdt transfers) is responsible for the majority of TRX traffic. So if tether FUD is true and Tether will go down ... i think it may take TRX down as well. At least majority of traffic and evaluation, which is enormous ($ 5B).

tether risk could be true. this could be the reason why influencers today are also picking the USDC already.
the price of TRX can go up but it wouldn't really going high to be considered a new ETH. the MATIC was even more progressive than it which is newer than TRX. its EVM has more activity than any other layer1 these days. i do think TRX will go high though after all it didn't die and there are more dapps on it already.

The chances of getting back  the money are too low right?
well
the new administrator of FTX (mr ray) is still investigating the inner workings of ftx. and trying to find all assets.

but so far Mr ray only has hands on about $1b of funds out of a possible $7-8b hole

there is the LedgerX platform which is solvent and can be sold.
value at post today of the 195,869,337 FTT transfer last month is today $274m

~$1.2b of $8b
about 15% at most so far

call it 10cents on the dollar at most after lawyers and consultants fees

(facepalm) shameless guy.

if he is ok with making accusations then he should start closer to home with his best friends SBF

doesn't sound like him when you are used to watching the shark tank. he is paid to speak for FTX. nothing more to expect from him but already pointing finger to binance. its now who's the bad guy and the good guy.  he highlighted binance monopolizing the crypto market like binance needs to be seized.

you can already tell in his mind that because ftx collapsed, everybody else has to collapse.
1716  Economy / Economics / Re: Forget a return to office: We’re living in the age of side hustles on: December 15, 2022, 03:09:26 PM
Definitely we are living in the era of side hustles. With all the reasons plotted above there are also valid reasons like need of “multiple income” sources considering increased cost of living while less salary hikes for the fixed salary jobs.

There is even craze of doing “moonlight works” everywhere. By definition it means one person joining 2 or more than 2 companies at the same time to earn more money. This tells us the story that living has become very hard. If you don’t have bank accounts full of cash then you have to keep struggling with side hustles and moon Light work.

two or 3 jobs a day is really hard to do but the necessity to do it is just pushing a family man to keep it because the man has to provide for the family. yes its hard to live now. ride sharing and delivery services boom since the start of covid lockdown and its still here. i was considering to sign up.

there isn't enough crypto companies that can provide freelance jobs to the influx of new generations though. but the adoption i guess will force the old generation to learn the crypto for their pay.
1717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it Satoshi Nakamoto's Identity?? on: December 14, 2022, 03:35:51 PM
Lol. How would a cartel become Satoshi? and if he was a cartel what's his purpose in creating Bitcoin? To use it to run his cartel? what are the people thinking right now? You would still convince me if what they are claiming is something like a developer or engineer but a cartel? It needs technical skills to create or invent something like Bitcoin or Ethereum and I don't think cartels would waste time to something that they aren't sure if it going to be success or not.

holy crap and we want satoshi to win a noble prize. now way! lol

but why would you believe a a druglord who only care to profit and bang women can actually program such innovation that the cryptographers have been trying to get a breakthrough of that doublespending for years can only be solved by a methhead?  i wanna sniff what Paul Le Rous was sniffing.

1718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tipping during live slot, or casino games. on: December 14, 2022, 03:16:20 PM
if the tip goes to the casino's chat/rep support BTC wallet maybe the gambler will consider tipping. sure its not compulsory.

in my country, its not also compulsory to give tips but i guess a person gives to impress lookers. here, tips are centralized which all employees are going to get their tips which is divided and shared for all to receive when they day is over.  unless no one see when you slide the $20 bill inside the employees pocket that makes it his/her own.
1719  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: SIM Registration: Anong Dapat Ipag-alala? on: December 14, 2022, 03:07:25 PM

1720  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / SIM Registration: Anong Dapat Ipag-alala? on: December 14, 2022, 03:10:23 AM

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 12) — Old and new mobile phone users must register their SIM or subscriber identification module beginning Dec. 27 under new rules issued in line with the law.
The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) released the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of Republic Act 11934 or the SIM Registration Act on Monday.

Existing users have six months to register the SIM or it will be deactivated. Owners of deactivated SIM have only five days to register and reactivate.
New SIMs sold will remain deactivated until end-users complete the process of registration.
The registration must be done electronically through a secure platform or website to be provided by the telecommunication companies to their subscribers.

Users will be asked to give some personal information like complete name, birthdate, sex, and address. They must also provide a copy of an identification card.
The IRR also states that any information and data obtained in the registration must be treated as absolutely confidential and shall not be disclosed to any person.

Telcos may disclose the full name and address of an end-user only in four instances:

*in compliance with any law obligating the telcos to disclose such information in accordance with the Data Privacy Act;
*in compliance with a court order or legal process upon finding of probable cause;
*in compliance with a subpoena issued by a competent authority pursuant to an investigation that a specific mobile number, was or is being used in the commission of a crime; and
*with the written consent of the subscriber.

"The confidentiality clause in the SIM registration shall take effect at the point of activation and shall continue even after deactivation of the SIM and for as long as the end-user's data is still retained by the PTEs (public telecommunication entity),” the IRR stated.

“For this purpose, the point of activation shall mean the time when the concerned PTE receives the required data or information from the registering subscriber/end-user," it added.

Fines and jail time await violators of the law.
