Damn Joel Embiid went to the stripe 22 times, that's more that the total score made by Klay Thompson.  Cheesy
Looney had a hard time stopping that big muscle of his but somehow the Warriors took advantage of the time when he was benched. I guess that's what is missing with the 76ers, the deep bench while the Warriors do have a system where even the bench players can contribute while their stars are resting.
That's what Embiid is good at as well.
His footwork is better than most of the bigs out there, but at the same time, he is also good at drawing fouls. No wonder why he is now the current leading in the MVP race, and TBH, he might spoil the 3rd straight MVP of Jokic, and if that happens, Embiid really deserves it. I just hope that how he is playing on regular season will be the same when they are in the playoffs, because he's playing on an MVP level, but he didn't even reach the Conference Finals yet.

Let's just hope that Poole will be playing like this all throughout the playoffs, or at least most of the playoff games, or they don't have a chance to defend their title.
Consistency had always been the problem for Poole and then the mistakes. It's getting lesser so Steve Kerr might be a little happy now.
A little you say. Cheesy Well, I guess yes, and knowing that they will play 3 more games on their home, Kerr will be happier if he will see Poole being consistent in their next 3 games.
1742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 25, 2023, 02:52:13 PM
Enough of Meralco Vs. Ginebra series. I want to see a different team/s playing in the PBA Finals. We want to see other teams having an opportunity playing in the PBA Finals. If Ginebra will go to PBA Finals again (like always as long as there's an import), I want TNT to be their opponent.

Most likely Ginebra will go against TNT on the finals. They are the only team remaining that can match TNT toe-to-toe. Even though we want to see other teams to go to the finals, we cannot control the fact that they are the strongest team right now.
It must be.

People want changes, and there is a high chance that Ginebra will "again" go in the PBA Finals (more revenue). Fans want Ginebra to face other team aside from Meralco in the Finals because they know already that the Bolts will not win against Ginebra in the Finals. What if there's a plot twist to this one? What if for some reasons, SMB will defeat Ginebra and they will face TNT in the PBA Finals? Cheesy I mean it isn't impossible knowing that SMB is also a strong team, and if that happens, we might see Fajardo playing as well.

There has been a significant change in the odds for the TNT vs Meralco game. Initially, TNT was favored by only -3.5 points, but due to their blowout win, the odds have moved slightly. I am now enticed to bet on TNT as I believe they will win by double digits.
With that convincing win, I think that the TNT will cover that -5.5 spread (currently in Stake).

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is still undefeated since he went on as the import of the TNT. He isn't a prolific scorer like other imports, but it's good to see other TNT local players helping him offensively. He isn't like Franklin, or Jordan Williams, or Hudson who is scoring more than 30 or even 40, but he's an all around player. He can shoot, but at the same time he can also play inside the paint and knows how to pass as well. I think this will go 2-0 favoring the TNT.
1743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 25, 2023, 08:47:38 AM
GG between 76ers and Golden state warriors, Jordan Poole also had to step up a lot today in order to assist the Splash bros, he was the warriors highest points scorers tonight 33 points and 6/11 from deep, warriors are now pulling clear from the play-in tournament, they should be able move up to as high as the 4th position, if they're able to remain consistent down the stretch and not lose another important player on their roster to injury.
Let's just hope that Poole will be playing like this all throughout the playoffs, or at least most of the playoff games, or they don't have a chance to defend their title.

Both Curry and Thompson is a stress for their opposing team already, but what if they had another player who can shot, and as efficient as both of them. Poole has been inconsistent all throughout the season, but when he erupts, it really is a big help for the whole team. They won the first out of their four home games, and looking at their opponents in that 4 games, the Sixers are the hardest one to defeat with, and with this win, I guess the Warriors can easily win against the Timberwolves, Pelicans and Spurs on their home, but still everything can happen. It's just that the Warriors are playing really well on their home.

Anyway, I would love to see Splash Brothers + Poole Party raining threes on the playoffs. Cheesy

Luka's money sign to the referee have resulted for him to be fined with $35,000. Yeah, that's not a much for him and that's too little compare to the other fines that we're seeing for the other players.

Here's the article: Luka Dončić fined $35K by NBA for money gesture toward official during controversial Mavericks-Warriors game

This is too little for the chunk of the salary that he's getting.
Vanvleet's comments regarding a referee during an interview is way harsher than this one. Well, he got fined after that rant, but at least he said the truth.

Vanvleet did it. Luka did it. I expect more of this in the future where players will express their feelings towards the referees thru rant's or gestures like both of them did. As for Luka's actions, I think there is a reason why he did that, and for him it's pretty obvious, and I might agree with him as well, but at the end of the day, referee's calls will not change. I wonder what Scott Foster is doing while seeing these referees doing wrong calls. Cheesy

It was also a good win by the Warriors, although they are the favorite since it's in their homecourt and usually they play very good at Chase center. But they have a difficult time containing the big men in Joel Embiid, which I thought is not going to play and take a rest.
Splash Brother + Poole Party for the win. Cheesy All 3 of them scored 83 of the total 120 points with a combined 3-pt shooting of 14-31.

It was a close one TBH, until the final minute, but the three of Poole in the corner sealed the deal for the victory. They spoiled Embiid's 46 point performance, but I'm worried because they can't stop him. Even Looney who is their tallest guy on the Warriors team can't even stop him. For the Warriors to be a playoff contender, or if they want to repeat their title, at least they need to be better in terms of defense. I just hope that Wiggins and GPII will return when playoff comes.
1746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pastor Shuts Down His Church After Winning About $140,000 In Sports Betting.. on: March 25, 2023, 07:35:43 AM
The church members came for their normal weekly services and were shocked to discovered that the entire place were locked, and the pastor no where to be found, the pastor was later contacted, and he confessed that he become a pastor out of greed and not because God called him ...
~
The above affirms to the fact that many, are into what they do, not because they love it, or because its their calling, but because of the money they get to make from it, just imagine how many years this pastor have deceived his church members into believing he was genuinely called by God to serve as a pastor..
Well, at least he didn't last when they asked him his whereabouts, and instead confessed everything. He admitted his wrongdoings.

Kidding aside, it's kind of funny and scary how he really deceived his church members to the point that he got money from them just to have funds to be used into gambling. I guess he's lucky that he won that huge amount, and because of that he stopped doing deceiving other people. I guess it's good for the members, and because of that, the pastor stopped fooling them.

Now my question is, As a business or as a career person who is also into gambling/betting, would you quit your current business or career if you won the same amount of money from gambling/betting?
Be sincere and state your reasons for your decision..
I don't think so.

I mean I love what I'm doing, and I still didn't achieved my goals yet so even though I will win the same amount of money, I will not stop what I'm doing. I will just invest that money. I will just use that money to work for me, and get passive income.
1747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 24, 2023, 03:21:36 PM
You can't blame the kid because after all, he saw all the flaws of these referees have. He saw all of the mistakes all of these referees are making, and sometimes, it causes them the game. These wrong calls sometimes make them lose. Though like you, I also like to see the old Luka who isn't complaining, but can't blame him for his actions. It's just me though because I can understand the frustration sometimes.
I do understand the frustration but there are players who also attack the rim a lot of times and don't complain too much, he is just going too far now.
And, the game is being affected because of what he is doing, his lack of defense, concentration, and he is slowing down both their offensive and defensive runs. There's a right time for complaints and he must learn those, not when the game is still in motion.
Well, that's the downside of him being focusing more on complaining rather than just play after what happened.
Maybe that's also the reason why they are one of the worst teams right now in terms of defense. Anyway, I just hope that he will be matured enough to not complain again like what he's doing in his rookie season where he is just focusing on playing instead of complaining.

I think it is a wise decision for the Philadelphia 76ers to not force Embiid and Harden to travel against the Warriors. The Warriors are in a tight race in the western conference so they are expected to show their best on their home court and there is no need for the 76ers to risk its minor injured superstars in a possible hot game later. If there is a chance to make Harden and Embiid 100 healthy with a little rest then they might do it as they are already looking forward to the coming playoffs. Apart from that, the 76ers will have no rest day as well since after their travel to San Francisco, they are headed next to Phoenix which maybe be easier for them to focus.
Anyway, the Sixers are still 3.5 games above the 4th seeded Cavaliers so this one lose from the Warriors will not affect them that much so... I guess it really is a good decision for the Sixers not to push Embiid and Harden knowing that there are only a few games remaining until the regular season ends. After all, the Warriors are playing very well on their home, and they needed wins for them to have a good spot in the playoffs.

Like what the Sixers did, I expect also those top teams currently to either sit down their key players or limit their playing time to reduce the chances of them getting injured. Maybe the Bucks will let Giannis sit for one to two games since they're 2.5 games above the 2nd seeded Celtics. The Nuggets might let Jokic and Murray sit down for a few games as well as they're 3.5 games above the 2nd seeded Grizzlies.

Can Meralco upset TNT? It's already guaranteed that it's going to be MVP vs. Cojuangco in the finals, but for TNT this season, I think they are really a very good team. They have great chemistry, and everyone plays well when on the floor, making them a hard team to beat.

It's the offense of TNT vs. the defense of Meralco. If Meralco can dictate the tempo, then we might see an upset.
Watching the game right TNT with a huge lead, too bad for Meralco because of too many turnovers and missed shots.
TNT is pretty dominant on this game, I'm expecting a close game here unfortunately its not looking good for Meralco. Too bad I placed a bet to Meralco going against the odds, well this is just a game 1 and Meralco have to do some magic here so they can at least have a win against TNT.
That's a big lead and a big statement from TNT, 30points lead in first game is something  you should not forget.
TNT is the top team for a reason and going against the odds is very risky, better luck next time mate and see if Meralco still have the chance to get a win here but I think TNT will not give it easily. If ever, TNT vs GINEBRA in the finals will be a blockbuster and this is what I'm looking forward to.

That first game between the 2 has been a one-sided match I should say. A dominating win for the TNT. I don't think Meralco have the pieces to defeat TNT right now. I mean they're a star-studded team as well like SMB or Ginebra out there, so I predict that TNT will win on this series in 4 games. It was a collective effort for the TNT as 5 players scored in double digits lead by their import who has 22 points. Their import, Hollis-Jefferson really isn't a good three-point shooter as he isn't attempting that much, but he's a great one in terms of perimeter shooting.
1749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 24, 2023, 07:52:19 AM
^ An important game for them (the Lakers) tomorrow as they go up against the Oklahoma City Thunder, who they are tied with for the last play-in tournament spot along with the New Orleans Pelicans. The Lakers winning this game would give them a little separation and maybe take off a little of the pressure of not making the play-in tournament at least.
Indeed, it's going to be a tough game as OKC is also trying to secure their chance in the play-in tournament. The only advantage the Lakers have is their home court advantage because I believe OKC is the better team overall. I'm not sure, but I think I like to bet on the road team just to go against the public.
I would still follow the trend, although you are right that OKC is probably the better team. The Lakers have won most of their games at home, so we can expect them to play harder at home and try to beat OKC, who is their rival in the play-in qualification.

The current lineup of the Lakers is good enough to beat OKC, in my opinion.
The current 8th to 11th seeded teams in the West have all the same record with 36-37.
I've never seen the Western Conference standings to be as close as this one. I mean the only difference of the 4th seed to the 12th seed is only 3 games.

As for the Thunder and the Laker, all of their games is already a must win for them. The Lakers are currently on a 2 game winning streak and again, they will try to go to .500 because they tried twice and failed twice. TBH, the Lakers needed the slot more than the Thunder needed it. Many wants Lebron to play again in the playoffs, and for sure, many Laker fans wanted to see their team play in the playoffs or even in the play-in at least. A win for either 2 of these teams might put them to the 8th spot at least.

Like you, I believe that the Lakers will win on this one as well. Reaves is playing his best season currently, and they have the pieces to win on this one. TBH, I just don't know why they aren't still above .500 where in fact, their roster is already great and can compete against other playoff teams.
1750  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Experience of failure and success can help us control the emotions. on: March 24, 2023, 07:31:12 AM
In trading the number one enemy is our self emotions, many trader loss because they can't control thier emotions and it really affects thier decision making and sometimes it will become a reason for the big loss, in crypto we cannot be free from different emotions because everytime market condition is changing and it is really a high volatility market, i think experienced had a very big role on decision making, is this a reason why most of the newbie loss is it because they don't have enough of experience?
The more experience you have, the better you control your emotions so to answer your question, it's yes.

When I was a newbie in trading, there was also a time where I got FOMO'ed, and because of that I lost a half of my capital. I learned from that mistake of mine, but that wasn't enough learnings from me because I did it again the second time. I got FOMO'ed again and lost more than half of my initial capital. From that, I learned from it because I already experienced losing in trading. Though I can't say that I'm not experiencing any losses in trading, I can say that currently, I'm profiting more than losing in trading, and I'm not doing the same mistakes that I did again.

Experience really is a huge thing when it comes to trading because from that, you will learn and you will adjust to it. If you made mistake, you will adjust base on what happened to you. You will not learn if you didn't experienced it. Maybe there are some traders who for some reasons, traded very well since they started, but most of the newbies really tend to lose their money as they start, and one reasons is their emotions.
1751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What could have happened to all meme coins on: March 24, 2023, 06:38:39 AM
I am wondering what the fate of projects like Volt inu, Baby Doge and other meme coins would have been if Elon Musk never supported Doge coin, would Shiba inu ever made it to top 20?
Meme coins in general doesn't have any use case at all... or I should say that DOGE has a use case while SHIB?? I don't know if there is any at all. SHIB just increases on it's rankings because of Elon Musk hyping it. Surprisingly, it stayed on the top in terms of market cap for an unknown reason.

What would have happen to meme coins? Will there ever be any if Elon never existed?
Most of the meme coins will die like what always happen.

They hype of memecoins was when Elon hyped DOGE and SHIB. After that, lots of memecoins emerged. Some are scam, some are just useless, worthless shitcoins. Some become deadcoins, and some have been abandoned by their developers. Anyway, even without Elon, DOGE has always been at the top for a long time already. It has been on the top 100 in terms of market cap.

Re: Is the government can really make a way to end poverty or it depends on us?
Poverty will not and will never end.
Government's help has limitations. We can't all depend to the government. We need to do our thing as well in order for us to get out of poverty.

In my country i observed so many people doing rally and blame the government why the basic needs price rise and the salary is still very low and not enough for daily expenses, is this the effect of the Ukraine and russia war that makes the gas or crude oil so high at price and they pass the gas expenses to the product and it ends to very high price of the basic needs that make us very poor, I see government has a move to resolve the problem but many people are still blaming the government.
When people are having a hard time, there is this nature of a person where they are blaming somebody for what they've done themselves like in this case, the are blaming the government on why the price of basic needs are increasing. These people are also the people who don't know what is called "inflation", and what they know only is that, it's the government's fault as to why prices are increasing.

Some governments are doing their job to at least decrease the price of basic needs such as oil, gas, and food, but on the other hand, there are some things that it isn't controllable at all like inflation. If people want to go out of poverty, they must do something and don't rely it all to the government.
1753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Game do you think is a Game of Chance or a Game of Skill? on: March 24, 2023, 03:13:25 AM
While going through multiple websites for my topic I found out that the online gambling industry has been growing rapidly. The growth has been significant as in 2021 the global online gambling industry size was recorded at $61.5 Billion, whereas it went up to $79.8 Billion in 2022. The rise as per my understanding is significant.
One factor here why online gambling industry has been growing rapidly is the fact that we had a pandemic.
Pandemic prevented those gamblers going out and go to a casino. Some of these gamblers really do want to spend their time gambling thus, they found a way, and they tried online gambling. Maybe some of those gamblers who are going on a casino preferred gambling online for various reasons. The rise is significant indeed, but if the pandemic didn't happen, I guess the growth will not be that huge.

~but my question is which one of these do you consider to be a game of skill or a game of chance?

  • Slots
  • Balckjack
  • Baccarat
  • Poker

Slots is pure chance I guess, Poker and Blackjack is both game of chance and skills because you need a bit of a luck in drawing the cards you need and you need skills or in this case experience so you will know what will you do. I don't know what Baccarat is, but I often hear it in some gamblers out there.

1755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 24, 2023, 12:20:41 AM
The ref immediately pointed it's the Warriors' ball and reaffirmed the call when two players approached him. I understand the confusion but I still don't think the Mavs protest would succeed if they plan to pursue that. Maybe the referees can talk about this as well and come up with a better sign for timeouts so this kind of situation doesn't happen again.
Another thing is their announcer. That guy had been making a lot of mistakes in the whole game.
Mark Cuban said it was the announcer who said the ball will be Mavericks' possession, perhaps he can first talk to him before ranting on social media.
~
And it was not a 2 point game. It was a 5 point game, the Warriors just let Bullock shoot the three with less defense.
If there are a lot of non-calls, it should be Steve Kerr that should be angrier. There was a 5 offensive possession incident by the Mavs where no call was made even though Warriors' players are getting pushed all over the place trying to get the defensive rebound.
I hope they will fine that announcer for not doing his job correctly.

I mean we know how important the announcement of the announcer is. What if it's playoffs already and unfortunately he made that mistake again? That wrong announcement can cause one team a win. As for Cuban's reaction regarding that, he was talking at the crew's table a few minutes after that mistake was done, and nothing changed so he just posted it on social media. He posted it for awareness maybe... and for some reasons as well.

I believe the problem with them is their defense. I mean you let Curry drive the ball without any defender inside the paint? You let Kleber guard him outside the 3-point area? That's just ridiculous, and we know that there are no teams who will let their big player guard a smaller guard like Curry outside the 3-point area. Only the Mavericks are doing it. Regarding the mistake, what if the lead is one-sided? What if it was a 15 or 20 point lead when it happened? Will Cuban still rant on social media?

I’m waiting to see if the NBA takes action against Luka for his complaints about the referees. There’s a clip of him accusing the refs of having bet money on the Warriors due to how bad the officiating was. With all the trouble the NBA has had with gambling and refs, that’s not a comment to make lightly. I sort of expect we’ll soon hear about a $25,000 fine in the next few hours.
I hope it does happen. Make him learn his lesson. I am a big fan of his but it is not fun to watch him anymore when all we could see is him talking to the referee like they were on a date or something.
I like the old Luka who just smiles at those no-calls and just goes back to defense afterward.
1756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 23, 2023, 04:20:26 PM
A miserable day for me I guess... or not. Cheesy 1/4 only today and the one with the lowest odds is the one where I won.

Miami Heat - New York Knicks - New York Knicks @ 2.07 - LOST
- The game was close the whole game until the final minutes of the game where the Heat stepped up, and getting the victory. Butler lead his team with 35 points, while Herro also scored 22 points. It's good to see bench players like Vincent, Struss and Lowry stepping up and scoring double digits.

Dallas Mavericks - Golden State Warriors - Dallas Mavericks @ 2.16 - LOST
- Curry did an easy lay-up to push the lead up to 3, the Mavericks made a very bad possession in the crucial seconds that caused them the game. TBH, the referees are kinda sus because they don't want to give Draymond Green his 6th foul even though there are some instances where he already fouled a Mavericks player. Anyway, a win is a win, and speaking of wins, it's the first time that the Warriors won back-to-back on the road this season. Curry only has 20 points, but had 13 assists. Overall, it was a collective effort for the Warriors that's why they won.

Los Angeles Lakers - Phoenix Suns - Phoenix Suns @ 1.89 - LOST
- Am I the only one seeing Reaves as a starter tonight? I mean after his career night, he already has been a starter, and it seems like he is having a good night as well scoring 25 points and 11 assists. This kid needs that $50M 4 year contract. He might be a big help offensively if their superstars are out. Anyway, good game for the Lakers.

Chicago Bulls - Philadelphia 76ers - Philadelphia 76ers @1.63 - WIN
- Didn't watch the game, but when I saw that the Sixers had a 22 point lead in the 1st quarter alone, I knew what will happen already. They got that lead, and never looked back. Embiid only played 16 minutes and scored 12 points. Is he injured? Anyway, the Bulls as a whole team just played very awful in their home to the point that the points of their bench players are more than the points of their starters. :X

Congratulations to all who won at their bets. Smiley
1757  Economy / Economics / Re: Does a side job/business improve your finanical stability ? on: March 23, 2023, 03:57:54 PM
If you can add a second/side job into your life without causing detriment to existing factors in your lifestyle, then why not? Work harder, plan smarter, progress faster! If you manage to balance something new alongside everything else in your life, there's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't end up better off or more financially stable, if combined with financially intelligent/responsible.

There are no way to find a side jobs that you wont sacrificing any , like your time , sleep or energy because my self right now even i do work remotely as well as sidehustle i still don't have time to play on my child and also lack of sleep which you really need to sacrifice those things for you to achieve those things. Lucky those people who can still manage their time but again don't go over it that your health will got affected.
I can feel you.

Currently, I have 2 jobs because like many others are saying here, only one source of income isn't enough for the whole household to survive. Yes all of us here in the house are working (but I'm the one who's working from home), but still I prefer having a 2nd source of income just incase my main source of income unfortunately ends up for whatever reason it is.

Like you, I already sacrificed my sleeping time, and there are times where I only sleep 5-6 hours a day because aside from my work, I'm also the one doing the household chores since I'm the only one who's in the house all the time. I wonder how much sleep I can get whenever we will have our own baby. This is also the reason why I'm putting most of my money now in the stock market. I have a specific target where I want to earn X amount of money every month thru dividends. It will be a huge amount for sure, but I know I can reach that. Sacrifice first before comfortability.
1758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many BTC needed for retirement in 10 years? on: March 23, 2023, 03:39:18 PM
With prices starting to slowly rise again (not sure if I really like that, always have the feeling to never have enough), what would you think
is enough to retire in 2032? I know that nobody can tell that with certainity, but would love to hear your estimates:

I think 10 BTC and 100 ETH would set you up for good, so once that is reached, I would stop accumulating, what is your plan?
A very subjective question I must say.

It all depends on how your lifestyle is. Are you frugal? Are you spending too much money on things you don't need? Are you a huge spender on some things? Are you a gambler? Are you a saver? Are you an investor? How much you need for retirement depends on how your lifestyle is. If you don't have any mortgages, any loans, but you do saved a lot of Bitcoins in the past then I guess 10 BTC and 100 ETH would be enough. However, if you are a big spender, have lots of loans, I'm afraid that you need more of that. Also take note that we don't know what the price of these 2 coins will be in 2032. We might see Bitcoin's price at that year still below $100,000 and Ethereum still below $2,000.

My plan? Accumulate and accumulate until I've reached the point where I don't want to accumulate anymore.
1759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which of your friends and relatives deals with bitcoin? on: March 23, 2023, 03:18:18 PM
Relatives? Hmm I don't think that there is anybody here in my place who's involved in Bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general, but maybe some of my relatives that lives in other places are involved especially those who are at least know how to use computer, and a bit of Google.

Friends? I know some, but they aren't investing at all which is kind of unfortunate, and make me sadden at the same time. I mean the ones that I know are at the 20's already, and whenever I ask them if they invested into Bitcoin already, they always say "We will do it next month, or maybe next year." I mean you can start even with a few amounts of money only right?

I just hope that one day, there will be a time where me and my other relatives and friends will be sharing our thoughts with regards to cryptocurrency. I would love doing that. I would love sharing my knowledge with them, and learning from them as well.

Another stressfull news for the community.
Tron founder Justin Sun sued by U.S. SEC on securities, market manipulation charges.
Who's that person?? I don't know him at all
Ohhh he's the current founder of Tron. The founder who has lots of controversies already way back a few years ago. I can't remember, but there was a time where he said something that caused uncertainties to the whole crypto market. Anyway, I can't see it a stressful at all because after this, Bitcoin will just rise up again.

Will BTC bounce back from this, or will it continue to take a beating? Only time will tell, but I have a feeling this won't be the last we hear about this story.
Yes. It will bounce back.
I wish we would see Bitcoin going to touch that $30,000 price resistance this month or even next month. Like you, I don't believe that this is the last negative news that I'll heard in the next few weeks.
