1741  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: So I was careless enough to get scammed by ASIC technologies... on: September 18, 2013, 08:38:25 AM
So I got suckered by the numbers and promise of free shipping on http://www.asic-technologies.com/ and didn't do due diligence to find out whether the company was legit.

here is blockchain of payment

If you think you can get your bitcoins back even if the recipient doesn't want to, you should read more about Bitcoin

The "p" in pebkac is either non-existent or really serious Smiley. Let me know if your tests run fine, so I'll make a new wallet and recover it, then I'll send you both files.
I still can't look at this in the following days I keep that in mind.

Tried with a new wallet. It had compressed keys but the recovered ones are uncompressed so my method of intersecting privkeys isn't good.
Nice find!
I'm looking at the code and it looks like I never check the compressedness.
That's a bit less critical as you at least recover the private keys. I'm going to make pywallet import both compressed and uncompressed addresses for each private keys. Then once I have access to my dev computer I'll make this less q&d.

Edit: I just tested and it indeed recovered the corresponding uncompressed addresses. Doing the change right now.
Edit2: I pushed the new version, it's working for me with a wallet full of compressed keys

1748  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [PREORDER] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: September 17, 2013, 05:50:51 PM
There are currently a few devs working on integrating Trezor into their software.

I thought it would be worth starting up a thread to discuss some of the low level implementation details.
The thread is here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=296078.0

If you are a dev working on Trezor support please check it out.
As there are lots of people reading this thread I thought it was worth keeping low level stuff out of here.
Good idea

Your opinion is incorrect.
Opinions can't be "incorrect".
Your signature is.

Beware
Don't go to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0 or your signature ignore list will get fat

Sadly some of us have to view that subforum....
I feel for you...
Isn't it better with signatures hidden? Maybe you totally disabled them though.

Okay error again on trying to post a photo.
Thanks, I'll look at that and report the results
Tell me what version of BT++ you're using and what OS and browser you're running
Is saving settings working?

Update to 0.2.6 and try again

The idea for storing notes on users is a great one. I would love that.

Tried adding a photo again, still getting bad password: ->

Please test again (yes it will fail, I just want to log more data when it crashes)
The problem comes from your BT++ script. Do you have the lastest version?
What OS? What browser?
1757  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk++ script - v0.2.4 on: September 17, 2013, 12:35:27 PM
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not yet....

It'd be cool if we could write notes for users (personal only) that way you can remember things about people.  Possible to do this and store it server side?
sounds great. or even give an option to make the note public or private. not sure about the trolls though
Not sure I said it but I thought about this
I don't have a todo list for BT++, looks like I should make it...

toggle signature - best button ever! thanks to theymos and you, jackjack - way less eyecancer now!

the only bad thing, the button is very close to report scammer button and i'm afraid to missclick all time :x

would it be possible to add a confirm-dialog if you click on report scammer? and/or move the report scammer button somewhere next to report to moderator button?
Ok, I'll move it
BTW if you want to remove a scammer report just tell me, I can remove them

Can you add a 'Wipe Settings' option? For public computers, I do not want my password stored on them.
I will. You can change it to an empty or false password in the BT++ settings until then.

Thanks for your interest guys.
Looks like importing features is rather easy so the next (last?) tricky task will be to implement the web server class I made.

It would be nice to see this on mac Wink
It would only require python and repairing the python bsd package (broken in osx).

A few images:

Click "..."

Select wallet.dat

Click "dump"

(American) English is my mother tongue, and I agree that JackWallet carries a negative connotation.  I don't want someone to jack my wallet.  "WalletJack" seems less negative, but I'd still stay away from it,
Thanks for your input, I definitely dismiss *jack*

When i try to recover my wallet (comes from thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=291333.0) i get the next error on the web interface:

"Error in dump page"

i have installed python 2.7 and pywallet, i made the web interface working by opening a command mode, and placing my pywallet.py and pywallet.bat files on my desktop (where my wallet.dat is too) and running the next command  from the windows cmd console: "pywallet --info wallet.dat"

i am probably doing something wrong i known Sad
To run the web interface it's "pywallet --web".
Should work then. Otherwise tell me what is written in the console.

JackJackWallet.

1760  Other / Off-topic / Re: Boob Job! BTC funded Breast Implants? on: September 17, 2013, 06:28:25 AM
seriously... just throwing an idea out to see if it has potential

A female friend of mine saw a recent CBC news article about women getting crowdfunded donations to support breast implants.
(i believe my free impl*nts d*t c*m) I immediately thought... what about BTC funded breast implants.

Keeping the 'male' mind out of the gutter, there are many reason's why a woman would like to have this type of thing. (NOT only for strippers and pornstars etc)
self esteem, and many others reason's.

The website listed has several North American surgeons listed. In my locale their fee is $6500 CAD.

Thinking about helping my friend organize this, and maybe 'pay it forward' if she were to meet the BTC required.

thoughts?

ok gentlemen, now back to thinking about boobs Smiley

Self esteem isn't a reason to get balloons pinned to your chest. If you have enough money to get breast implants, put money hanging out of your shirt and you will get just as many looks.

I'm not sure it's the same feeling when you grab them
