1821  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Know the right crypto project to invest in on: August 16, 2022, 09:37:52 PM
Considering rate at which hundreds of cryptocurrencies are flooding the blockhain space it seems digital currency is taking over the fiat. But the question now is how does one get to know the right crypto project to invest in?
Have your own thorough research on the different projects in the crypto market, and find those who have potentials and avoid those that seems unprofitable and won't have real utility cases. And definitely, always prioritize bitcoin as people made it the top choice investment in the market. You can never go wrong if you follow what the experienced people advices, as they have better and long term experiences than yourself.
1822  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Taking profits vs holding long term? on: August 16, 2022, 08:05:29 PM
Have been involved with Crypto 6 months now and my portfolio is now only 20% down due to this run we are currently going through.

My main position is 55% in profit and I have been debating if I should take some to then buy back lower when we experience our next crash.

Just wondering what everyone else does? Do you take profits along the way and if so at what point? Or do you just invest to hold long term?

When I first started 6 months ago I had the intention of just buying and waiting 2-3 years till our next bull run to cash out but lately I have been thinking if I can also make money along the way then that would be even better.
Its not actually a wrong idea if you just purely invest and wait for its price to surge high but it would take a year or two before you can make good profits. That is why if there are possible chances to make profits along the way, most have preferred to do it and take the risk since its always better to make profits every now and then. However, its an individual's choice, as trading could sometimes bring losses instead particularly if you happen to trade when the market is very uncertain and very unstable.
1823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency = The mother or father of all scams and bubbles on: August 15, 2022, 09:43:29 PM
Exploring more about cryptocurrencies, it is possible to see even worse statement on bitcoin. This is nothing new, and if you take those as mere words then they're words. People who are in a dilemma whether cryptocurrency is good or bad will dig deep. What is more required than stating a technology based product dead, just because the market drops.
It's certain that a lot of scams are really happening in the crypto market, not because its a playground for scams, but because scammers find more  profit potentials in cryptocurrency than in fiat system. Where there are money and profits, there's always bubbles and scams. However, its not enough reason that we should stay away from this crypto market. There's a lot of opportunities here to increase your finance, as long as you are also willing to make the best of it and never be afraid in taking risks.
1824  Economy / Economics / Re: Tips to save my finances, to grow personal economy on: August 15, 2022, 09:14:43 PM
maybe you can add tips from your experience all.
Invest a little money for your health as well as for your vacation because you should not only think about the possibility of getting rich in the future about your investment while your health and psychology are compromised. These two things are very important to think about because the body also needs healthy nutrition and the brain also needs relaxation which does not always have to think about money and money.

It's true to live a simple life, but you don't have to cut too much of your life just to prioritize investments. 5% to 10% of your total budget is also a good range for you to invest as long as it is consistent with it. So don't worry too much about it because life isn't just about money.
It's a matter of life's balance as well. Although its more important to be always financially secured, that is why we have investments that will make our personal finance grow and prosper, but only made possible when done the right way. And after that, there's also a need for health and wellness, pleasure and recreation. As long as everything does not exceed with the budget, i guess everything will look profitable and healthy not only in finances, but in health and wellness as well.
1825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: August 13, 2022, 02:32:15 PM
So Bob Arum is being futuristic for Devin Haney and is expecting another easy win by the undisputed champion. Bob said that Haney will get a Lomachenko fight although the Ukrainian needs a tune-up fight first. Devin Haney will have a lot of options if he beats Kambosos again. Inside Top Rank, there's Vassily Lomachenko, Shakur Stevenson, Teofimo Lopez, maybe Josh Taylor too if he will stay at 140, and Jose Ramirez. Outside of Top Rank, there's Tank Davis and Ryan Garcia.

And as for Kambosos? He will have the same options too but he needs to win over Haney. Otherwise, I am not sure what his future will be. It's like his win over Teofimo was a fluke and he only became champion on Teofimo's worst night.

Well, Bob Arum might be correct about his prediction because Devin Haney has a really good probability that he could still defeat Kambosos for the 2nd time. I mean, will there be any difference? Because I think Kambosos might have reached out for a rematch quite early, he should fight other boxers in the meantime because he cannot really handle a back-to-back defeat.

But if ever Kambosos turns out defeated this time, I guess he will have to climb back the ladder before he can have that chance to fight some champions again.
Maybe the team of Kambosos see that there will be no other options for him right now, but to request a rematch, if he lost then take it and try to rebuild from ground up. It's the only chance that he will become a champion again, although it will be very slim as Haney has his numbers unless he change his tactics and get lucky to hit Haney just like what he did against Lopez in their fight. Back to back lost might really hurt him, but he can go climb back slowly, like fighting top 5-10 fighters in the division again.
One last time and if he lost then maybe go up in weight and challenge Lopez again, I think that would be an exciting match, sure it will gain attention from the fans and they'll be able to sell that fight well. However, it's not certain yet, Kambosos might win the rematch and maybe trilogy will happen.

There will be no hype on Kambosos vs Lopez in 140 lbs if George will lose again to Haney. Well Kambosos can go up in weight after the Haney defeat, but this division is tougher that anyone would have tough. Champion like Josh Taylor and then we have Zepeda and Ramirez waiting and then others. So I don't think that Kambosos will have what it takes to go in this division.
It's always tough for a boxer going up in weight, however, Kambosos can always try if there's no reason for him to stay in the current division where he is not a champion anymore.

But this is Lopez fight night, and so we will give him credit for going up in weight and then pick an easy opponent to test how this division might be for him.
I hope Campa would be easy for him, odds are telling it's an easy fight but bookies are not right all the time.
1826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 13, 2022, 01:32:39 PM
Unfortunately, Nonito get the short end of the stick, as Naoya makes it very easy and score a knock out.

Nonito is already old, I didn't even expect that he would give Inoe a problem in their first fight, it was the toughest fight of Inoue as he was injured that time but he had a better game plan in the rematch and beat Inoue using his power where he is well known at. Nonito's career is not over, but if I would suggest, I think he should retire already.
1827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: August 13, 2022, 12:23:14 PM

But I see others predicting that Teo will win by KO so let's see if he can do that. Yes, he is very much capable, but we will see if he will be affected by ring rust. He has been out for more than a year if I'm not mistaken, then go up to 140 lbs. So it might be a very different and rejuvenated Teofimo Lopez that we might see in this fight.

On their weigh in I see a different Lopez not the angry and very eager Lopez during the weigh-in in his last fight, he is calmer but determination is there there are no thrash talks between him and Campa, it looks like Teofimo is on a mission to take over the Jr. Welterweight this is going to be a very exciting match to see, Lopez has no excuse to lose now its a must win for him.

That's good, Lopez is more focused now, maybe he learned a lot from his past mistakes and he won't let that happen again. He was too emotional the last time he fought, he think of knocking out Kambosos early that's why he lost his focus on the game plan he has to follow.

Learning from that regretful mistake that take his stardom away from him, he needed to be more focus and play with the system. It really happened inside the ring. You take the trainings and the game plan, but when you are already in front of your opponents; you overlook the capabilities of the other fighters and start making mistakes.

With Campa, he needs to wok things out and make sure that he will win else, his career will be going down and a possibility that
he will be forgotten.

Though he is not undefeated anymore Teo Lopez is still one of the most popular boxers nowadays, not anymore a champion but a great challenger. His fight with Kambosos will never be forgotten because it was a hard-fought battle and it has entertained the crowd, it's just unfortunate that Kambosos gave all those belts to Haney losing via unanimous decision.

1829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 13, 2022, 10:21:03 AM
Sooner or later the NBA commissioner will have to do something about it. He said publicly that he doesn't want how Durant demanding a trade after signing a huge contract. Sooner or later we will see some rule change, at least to have team owners get a better deal when they sign this kind of players.

And since they can't be simply be traded right away because the Nets wants more, and you can't blame them. Again, it boils down on the money they put in the line and they want something in return, like future draft picks, because that's what the lost as well when they sign the 2.

They must take the necessary action, it's not normal that players are acting like a boss, yes, Durant has some talent but without a team that will sign him and pay a huge contract, he will surely not gonna feel like a superstar, he has to be committed to the Nets as they trusted him, not the other way around.

If they will think of a business,  most likely a game 7 will happen. With that, I think it's good to bet on the underdogs in game 6 and maybe betting a parlay would result to a better payout. What do you think about that idea?

For sure, Meralco ML is still 3.00 while Magnolia is probably 2.40, so that's x7.2.

That is quite tempting, honestly. But I am sure one of the two, SMB or TNT, is looking to finish the series next game. I am sure they do not want to risk it on a Game 7 because if it reaches game 7, it can go either way now.  They may also want to rest a bit before they enter the Finals. So, even if the payout may look good, I don't want to risk it.

Yeah right, it's tempting but both teams are capable of completing their respective series this coming game 6. Though there are still influences that might affect the outcome and we never know if both have good sets of game system we can't remove the chance that a bad night might hit each player.

We have that term in Filipino "Alat" the outcome of both games will be defined when they already playing, maybe yes there's a game 7 in one of the two series or both will be finished or again, both will be go to do-or-die game 7.

Game 7 would be fun, of course, we like to see that but tomorrow is Sunday, and the Arena will have plenty of crowds, so most likely the team that has plenty of fans will likely win. Well, TNT failed to close the series but I don't know if they'll fail again tomorrow.
1832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 12, 2022, 02:00:30 PM
They are not a championship team IMO, they are just entertaining to watch because of their great offense but their defense is really bad that's why they struggle against a good defensive team. It's the first time that CJ has no Robin, so if Blazers will succeed, it's solely because of his leadership.

They cannot be a championship more now that they let CJ go with replacing a superstar player. Lillard alone cannot make this team a championship team, his best way to have a chance to win a ring is to pair with a superstar, someone that would still respect him as the lead star, and that would mean keeping his current team.

I guess when they let CJ go, it was an obvious rebuilding time for them with Dame as the centerpiece. But they have a good replacement in Jeremi Grant and then GPII and Joe Ingles and Josh Hart.

But I do agree that this line up will not be enough to contend in the West, we have teams like Golden State, Phoenix, Dallas and Memphis, very strong team. Maybe they need one more legitimate star to work with Dame and at least make the Blazers a contender.

That's right, a star player like Durant or Irving I guess, but someone that would not put Lillard in his place out as he is still the main star player of the team. Lillard has been playing with consistency, it's just unfortunate he doesn't have someone who can play like his level in his team, even CJ has some inconsistency sometimes.

I doubt that they can get a Durant or Irving type of player, it could be someone that they can developed. CJ has his time with the Blazers and it's really a hit or miss between the two. And then Nurkic got injured, I think that is their prime years to be in the contention. But know it is a new team, still lead by Dame but the pieces have been moved already. Only Nurkic remains but the rest is very different now and maybe Dame will have to reset again.

That will take time if they will develop a player to be a star, but I won't make a conclusion yet as we have one season to see before we make our judgement. I know it's hard but it's not impossible though, and who knows, one day it will happen and Lillard is going to the championship, I'm sure he has been dreaming of that.

Durant and Irving will likely stay with their current team due to the high demand of the Nets, so not them but maybe someone like them will join the Blazers.

Congrats SMB backers, hehe.. It's time to celebrate because not only SMB won, but they also covered the spread. Luckily Meralco committed bad turnovers and that's the reason why SMB easily won and covered. Advance congratulations, see you in the Finals soon.
1835  Other / Archival / Re: Entrepreneurship or Office job? on: August 11, 2022, 08:33:36 PM
IMO, it's entrepreneurship if you have the money for capital.
About the hardships in finding buyers, social media is an open space where most people are hanging around buying everything 24/7. That the target for marketing the products.
There will always be a way when it comes to business but being an employee for a company, there is no other way and going up in ranks is a difficult tasks especially when there's a lot of people aiming the same spot.
Even when you are giving promotion, your income is still limited. Even if you are capable to do more than that, but as an employee, you will be less waged compared to your own boss. Unlike when you are in your own business, your income is limitless since you can do everything that can increase your sales and gain more income. That is why a lot have taken the risk and manage their own business the moment they become ready both financially and emotionally because it’s where they can attain their own breakthrough and become financially independent.
1836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: August 11, 2022, 11:13:35 AM
I do think people are starting to realise that Cancelo isn't this unstoppable force now. Everyone talks about how his power is the best in the business, but I've never really seen it honestly. I've seen some decent amount of tactical thinking from him, but that's been when he has been losing the fight, which is great. However, his power is only slightly above average I'd say in his division. If like you say, he moves up he doesn't keep that power to weight ratio, he seems to lose a bit of it.

That's the thing, he was an undisputed champion in his division before and we didn't notice his power because he is not a strong starter, he is only a good finisher but sometimes his opponent can survive even if they lose the fight. With this fight against GGG, he has not hurt GGG yet but he won the last fight, so let's see if they can really hurt GGG and maybe KO him which IMO unlikely to happen.

Thanks @harizen for updating the bets on SMB, looks like SMB is not yet sure will advance but TNT is already ahead with a 3-1 lead. I'm hoping SMB will win next game so they'll have a good lead and they might end it in 6.

We will find that out tomorrow.

1838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to take profits? on: August 11, 2022, 06:37:51 AM
I am mostly a hodler no matter the market going down or up. But sometimes I get the advice to take some profits.

Example: my investment of 300 euro becomes 500 euro. Is it better to take out my initial investment or only take the profit ? And reinvest that profit ?

How do you guys do this ?

I just feel like i'm missing potential profits by not selling and seeing my potential profits go up and down.
Either of the two. It's all up to you how you're going to expand that money of yours and both options are good if you want to invest in another crypto.
There's really no magic on it although you are getting additional risk as for getting new crypto to invest that's the ideal one because that is what the majority does. Just do what you think is right and the experience will tell you if did it wrong or right.
None of us can make you profit, it’s your choice that will make it happen. Taking your profit and investing into another type of business can be also good, but it has still no guarantee if you’ll also make profit out from your new investment. I guess that’s how investments are, often risky and uncertain. But you won’t know the experience unless you try it with yourself, that’s where you can tell if it make profits or not, but always bear in mind that regrets has no room when it comes to investing.
1839  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unquestioned goal and habit on: August 10, 2022, 09:58:18 PM
As a human being, you are expected to have a target in life every given year. As time proceeds, it just seems our efforts are not going anywhere (stagnant at a place).
I have read, followed and listen to so many people's advice on how to invest in bitcoin, and diversify your investment strategy but my portfolio is not giving me as joy as I anticipated at the beginning of this year. I know many people in this forum anticipated the same to make much money from crypto at the beginning of this year. My plead for you are:
1. Remove all the deadlines you gave yourself to avoid depression.
2. If you didn't meet up your target before the end of this year, just pray and work hard.

In all you do, endeavour to set a standard goal, and if you fail to achieve all, readjust and bounce back.

Life is short and full of exploitation.
Live yours like there's no tomorrow.

Breathe in and out we all still have a long way to go.
Do not be a slave for certain deadlines and expectations as they are sometimes bound to be broken. Always be practical to see the realities about bitcoin, that it’s not going to be profitable at all times, as sometimes it needs a break too before it will start to surge again and skyrocket. That is the secret of the successful people in bitcoin, yes they have their own set of goals but they never create deadlines to reach it and make it happen. Patience will always be an essential virtue in the crypto market.
1840  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A little profit for $17k+ buyers on: August 10, 2022, 09:40:43 PM
Now the price of bitcoin has reached $ 24k and those who buy at $ 17k can get a profit of more than 40%, of course, this is a large profit, I bought the cheapest bitcoin at the price of $ 20560 and have received a profit of more than 15%, unfortunately, I only bought with a small amount of only $ 1200.

Bitcoin's volatility is top high nowadays. Some people even listened to FUD. But no matter how big or small the profits that we gained from Bitcoin's volatility, profit is still a profit and it's something that we should be grateful for. As long as we bought at a low price and sell it during a good recovery price, I guess that's still the right decision. I bought BTC at $20K and still holding it until I reach a good value. We all have different goals.
No one’s losing in bitcoin as long as long as you never sell at a loss. Whether you sell it earlier because you see profits already, I think that’s your own strategy wherein you are comfortable using. While others just prefer buying and hodling, it’s not also a bad idea to sell sometimes when you see profits and just buy back again as soon as the price drops more. Atleast, you are consistently making small profits the whole time.
