1361  Economy / Economics / Re: Reserve Bank of India Governor Calls for an Outright Crypto Ban on: January 17, 2023, 09:40:59 PM
Instead of banning crypto outright and supporting CBDCs completely, then I guess regulating it to some extent would be more profitable on the part of the government. The problem is that the government doesn't seem willing to open their eyes and acknowledge how important this technology is for the financial system, while they want to have competitors by offering new fiat currency [Central Bank Digital Currency - CBDC].

India is known as non-crypto friendly country, they are selfish with their attitude towards crypto and users. But in the end they can't stop crypto completely because there are always ways that will help many users to stay on crypto.
India is certainly a non- crypto friendly environment but with the latest research, the crypto users in the country has been increasing every year so these people might lost their opportunities from the possible banning that the governor wants. But i don’t see high chances too that the governor will succeed in his goal knowing there might also be a lot of government officials that are secretly hodling crypto and are more crypto enthusiasts than fiat.
1362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you handle your losses on: January 17, 2023, 09:17:54 PM
I ensure my emotion is in check:
I remind myself regularly that I am only having fun that can either be winning or loss, and what ever be the outcome it is for the fun of the moment and not a get rich quick scheme.
If you can remind that your main goal is for having fun, I believe you won't have a problem with your losses. This is the ultimate way to deal with your losses, you focus on getting entertainment and don't really care about the losses. As long as you use small money and it is limited money, you won't feel so hurt when you get losses. The complicated problem only rises when we use big money, even worse it is loan money. That's why only use the extra money and it must be money that can afford to lose.  Wink

True. Problem only comes when you gamble to earn a living because you rely on it completely, and you have no real job that will feed your family. If you gamble, make sure to spend only your extra money and not those funds intended to pay the bills, otherwise you will just worsen the scenario and create another problem once you lose the funds. Or better yet, don’t gamble if you think you are not ready to lose, that way you won’t face future troubles.
1363  Economy / Economics / Re: what is the key to your success investing in bitcoin.. on: January 16, 2023, 09:51:42 PM
everyone definitely wants to be successful in investing, especially in bitcoin. and of course it is not easy to achieve success in investing, even though it sounds easy to invest in bitcoin, for example as follows:

: buy at a low price sell at a high price.

: must hold strong, and do not sell it when the price drops.

but in reality there are so many people who sell when the price drops, even though they have to take the risk of loss.

I, who don't have much experience in bitcoin, want to ask what is the key to your successful investment in bitcoin?
and I want to ask if you have ever experienced investment losses in bitcoin?

I hope my post is useful for me and all in this forum.
Personally, the only key to be successful in any investment is faith. Because if you don’t have that, you will never take big risks and will always have fears from losing, most especially if you are in a highly volatile investment. And with faith comes focus and resilience. Since you want to withstand all the difficulties that the investment could bring, that makes you become patient in the process while waiting for your investment to boom and succeed.
1364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia on: January 14, 2023, 11:34:25 AM
^^  I don't know, but Paulie M. is already retired long time ago I not sure if we can value what he had said, he had a good career, no doubt, but he was not great to be honest, pillow fisted fighter, all he do is bark and with no bite, and when Cotto broke his jaw, it was over for him as his career didn't go up after that huge beating he got.
It's just his opinion though, but the most important now is that Ryan Garcia is taking a big challenge, he is willing to risk his belt against a fighter that is stronger than him based on how majority of the fans seen on their match. Davis is such a tough opponent, strong mentally and physically, so if Garcia is not Physically fit, then we will see a problem which I'm hoping will not happen.

Anyway back on topic, Ryan says that he knows what Tank is doing, playing mind games already specially with what he says about his PED accusations. So he is ready by any attack from Tank's camp and on the other hand, he can throw his trash talk as well which he has been doing for the last couple of years. So I guess the feeling is mutual about this two with their accusations and verbal abuse.

That's alright, it will heat up the upcoming fight, more hype for these two will sure gain the attention of the public, which would definitely result to viewership and money to the pockets.
1365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 14, 2023, 10:49:41 AM
Bad bet on the Clippers, I was thinking they'll easily win because the Joker is not available, but it's just unfortunate that the opposite thing happen. Denver Nuggets dominated the home team beating them by 12 points.

No Joker, no problem for them as Murray and Porter Jr. have led the team against the Clippers.

Leonard scored 24 points, but he does not get more support from his teammates.
I thought so too that's why I avoided this game as there's a chance the Clippers will get the win and I don't like the spreads with just +5.5 for the Nuggets before the game started.
I think they are overwhelmed by the pace of the game as the Nuggets didn't go slow. Without Jokic there is no need to stay longer at making plays that will start with him. They just run and gun and shoot threes.
I maybe was tempted because I bet early, it was -1.5 when it opened, but when Jokic was announced unavailable, the spread moved in favor of the Clippers. The home team should win the game against a visiting team that does not have their best player...  This one turns into a big trap.  Sad
1366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: January 14, 2023, 07:09:22 AM
I guess with the Crawford fight, majority of us says that it was Spence camp that is the main problem and probably doesn't want to give Crawford the fight, and the money and the chance to beat him, it's just sad though and this is clearly a duck on him.
That's exactly what I think, Spence is ducking Crawford, but for sure he cannot underestimate Thurman because Thurman was once a champ and he box really well.

But with Thurman, could be, I mean it will be entertaining and interesting if the fight is going to be at 147 lbs and his belt on the line.

Guess his corner knows a thing or two, so instead of ducking Thurman as well, they just proposed a fight one higher weight class and without any of Spence belt for Thurman to get.

I think that is not fair, Thurman is a challenger, it's mandated by the organization, so he needs to fight Thurman and risk his belt.
My only basis why I think Thurman has a chance of beating Spence is their fights on Shawn Porter, I guess Thurman had a more convincing win.
1367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 14, 2023, 06:32:23 AM

Odds still not out but i do hope that the Dragons would still be the favorite this game 7 hehe so i can play my cards.

I guess they will be the favorite, they started as the favorite in this series, and now that they have an import already, they will be back to their usual odds. I'm expecting an odds like -2.5 for Bay Area. With that odds, bettors will easily bet on Ginebra +2.5 or even ML.

Damn 76ers were dominated by the Thunders. I guess many gamblers lost on this one.

Everyone lost their bets because of Philadelphia.
I wish you had bet on Toronto, I had more confidence in Toronto.

Let's focus on tonight's games.

Of course, there are plenty of games tonight to choose from, or we can bet on all games if we want.

Jazz vs Magic and Clippers vs Nuggets.
These are great match ups, I'm rooting for the home team on this one, I guess even if the spread is high for the Jazz, I will believe that they will cover it because they had the momentum and they actually need to win games.

Rockets vs Kings, it's a rematch, probably the same outcome too.
1370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 13, 2023, 11:48:58 AM

Correct! more on hyping and bringing more interest so they can convert it into good ticket sales and more sponsorships,
we don't know how but fans are excited to see them inside the ring.
They are doing that is right, it's a way to sold more tickets and watch PPV streams, this is business after all, so what can you expect.
Look at Floyd, he talk trash, some said he is not an entertaining boxer, but he still made fortune in boxing.

Tank just gives some glimpse of how winning might be after beating the other Garcia, and it will be a good basis for
Ryan on how to create a good counter.

Depends on who's will stand out while throwing heavy and solid combinations.

Maybe Hector Garcia is not a power puncher, if that was Ryan Garcia hitting Davis open, I don't know, maybe we will see a knock down at least.
1371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 13, 2023, 11:00:20 AM
I am so disappointed with the Portland TrailBlazers, they still seemed to be the same team who does not play good defense. They already have a good lead in the 4th quarter but in the crunch time, they allowed the Cavaliers to easily score, Garland and Mitchell destroyed them in the 4th quarter.

Yes, Lillard had a big game with 50 points, but that's useless if they can win games.

Lillard is such a good player, they just have yet to put enough talent around him for him to be able to bring a championship home.  I thought I had heard that he was going to be traded or wanted to be traded, maybe it was this past season or the offseason, but either way wasn't he disgruntled or something recently? I do like guys who have played on the same team their entire career, but his prime years are running out, he's gotta get with a team that can make something happen and fast.
I do believe he have a good team behind him. Jerami Grant is there and then Anfernee Simons. It's the consistency that is missing especially from Simons which I think is a good player, but he is young and badly need more experience.
GPII has also returned so they have some defense running now when they needed to stop guards like Mitchell. It's just a matter of time before he makes chemistry with the team.
IMO, it's a good fought game against the Cavaliers, it's just that they are a strong team to deal with.
I think they need to change their system, moving the ball more is probably the best solution. The reason why Lillard's teammate is inconsistent because they are focusing so much on Lillard when it comes to offense. Simons and Grant can drop 30 points in a game, actually it's not only Simons who are inconsistent but also Grant, maybe the problem is the system.
1372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: January 13, 2023, 09:59:36 AM
I'm pretty sure people will still watch the between Pacman and Spence or Crawford.
That's for sure that we fans will still watch any of those as long as Pacman is there. But we don't know if there's still the possibility that Pacman will have those matches professionally as he has given the hint that he's going for the exhibition matches and after signing with Rizin, I don't think that we'll see any of those in the near future. And who was it again that Pacman is going to have a match in Dubai this upcoming month? I'm quick in forgetting things these days, is it another exhibition?

It's fine mate, we all forget sometimes because we have lots of more important things to think of. Anyway, Pacman will be fighting his former sparring partner, Jaber Zayani, in Saudi Arabia and not in Dubai.

That said, it will be almost impossible for Pacquiao to have a fight with either Errol Spence Jr. or Terence Crawford because I bet he's already packed this year because of the fact that he just inked a contract with RIZIN. Aside from that, I don't really think that a fight like that will materialize because Pacquiao will need at least a few couple of months to prepare intensively given that he will be fighting a strong professional fighter.

Or maybe the fight against Spence will not happen again as Pacman is already too old for a powerful boxer who is still in his prime. What people want to see is Spence vs Crawford, at least that fight is a clear 50/50, not compared to Pacman and people will just say he is already too old that's why he lose.
1373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 13, 2023, 08:19:26 AM

Yes that's true, and for your correction the crowd in  the Philippine Arena was 85k not 60k. This will be a very good and intense battle this coming sunday. Even though I know there are a lot of GINEBRA fans that will go for this championship, but I am still supporting Bay area dragons, I have a strong feeling that they can get the trophy of championship.
Good luck to you, good that we also have supporter on the other side, most of us here are rooting for Ginebra to win but some are for the Bay Area.
A huge number of crowd is already expected, this is a game 7 and it's Ginebra who will play, what can you expect?

And if this happen, many fans of the Gin kings will feel a big frustrations, hehe....

I think that's normal but it will just pass.

   -  Also according to what I heard, there are even people who come from other countries to come to the Philippines because they don't want to miss the opportunity to support their team on the last day of the championship this coming week.

I seem to remember during the Finals in the NBA Bulls vs Utah, the Bulls only won 1 championship and then the home court of the Utah Jazz, then in the end the Utah Jazz was not given a chance to win, many fans of Utah, so the same thing can probably happen to Ginebra as the championship is still within reach, good luck to both tea

Definitely, we call Ginebra here the home team and they will gain huge support from the fans. The management is smart enough to make that game in Sunday so there will be plenty of time for people to travel to get the tickets for the game. Actually, I'm also thinking of watching the game but the plane ticket alone is very expensive, so I decided to just pass and watch it live in TV.

1375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is It good For The Casinos And The Accusers If .. on: January 12, 2023, 07:42:19 PM
Bitcointalk remains to be one of the biggest hubs in the crypto space for anything crypto-related, and that includes crypto gambling. If the casino's community is huge here on bitcointalk, I don't think it's best for them to avoid addressing concerns raised here by the forum members because that can be seen as avoidance to possible public scrutiny on how they handle such concerns. Obviously if casinos address the issues from the get-go, I don't think that it will reach to a point that it will be posted here in the forum. Then again you have a lot of impatient people here, and I understand why they are impatient because money is involved and no one likes to lose money.
If the casino still want to be reputable in the eyes of its players, then there’s no reason to avoid bitcointalk forum as most of its forum members are crypto gamblers too. But if they have hidden agenda, and want to keep on taking advantage of their players, then it might be the reason that they don’t want to address the concerns in the forum. However, as long as the problems have been resolved quickly, then possibly it will never be a hot topic anymore in the forum.
1376  Economy / Economics / Re: Every passing year seems progressively worse on: January 12, 2023, 08:21:02 AM
If you look closely you would understand as development keep growing the more we face and experience lots of changes in the world. Personally since I was born I have never experienced or witness anything like covid-19 or economic meltdown but just of few years now things has drastically changed, government aren't really helping out  coupled with the decreasing of  unemployment rate going worster every year.  What you should do is to get something doing maybe you won't feel it that much whenever you are occupied you may not come to think of how things are going on with you rather thinking of how to make progress. Every year has there phases of climate change and occurrences so one really needs to be prepared.
As every year comes with challenges and struggles, and if you fail most of them, you will most likely feel like the world is against you because all you got are mistakes and failures. But that doesn’t mean that each passing year is getting worser, maybe you are just currently affected with all those negative events happening around but always remember, there’s always a rainbow after every storm so never lost hope and stay on positivity. Always know that those who became successful today have also experienced failures at first, but they chose to move forward and learn and improve their crafts until they succeed.
1377  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Another lesson for those that are using custodial exchanges and wallets on: January 12, 2023, 07:14:00 AM
Wyre users are able to withdraw, but they can only withdraw 90% of their money. Assuming you have $1000 on the exchange, you can not be able to withdraw $100 and Wyre users will be panicking about their money by now. Can you see that the more money they have on Wyre, the more money they can not be able to withdraw. On noncustodial wallet, you can send all your coins on the wallet at anytime.
Holding 10% of seized funds doesn't look like much but imagine if you deposited larger amount of money.
I never used Wyre but I see they are being used as fiat-to-crypto gateway, and they had connection with Metamask shitcoin wallet.
For what I see Wyre is registered in United States so I wouldn't be surprised if we see people starting to sue them soon.
Just imagine how much Wyre can earn from these seized funds from all of its users, so this should be alarming for all Wyre users as they are slowly stealing our funds, and this 10% will eventually grow more in the months to come. Although 10% is not that big if we only put minimal amount, but it would be a very huge amount of loss already if you are a huge amount depositor. So stay away from it if you have plans putting your funds into Wyre.
1378  Economy / Gambling / Re: What sort of Weekly & Monthly Bonuses do Bitcointalk members want? on: January 12, 2023, 06:31:14 AM
A lot of people on this forum seemingly gamble with the main objective being to get these sorts of bonuses, so I imagine the more frequent the bonuses, the more members will be trying to earn them.  So long as it's profitable and you have the free development time to continue offering special events, it seems like a win-win for everyone.  I think people must actually enjoy chasing the bonuses, like a sort of game, otherwise they wouldn't be so popular.  So if it's making people money and everyone is having fun, why not toss as many out there as you have time to?
This has a point. Creating bonuses are part of a working business so you can actually create as many as you can depending on your casino bankroll, and as long as players will keep their interest to it as players will always love chasing bonuses to earn more profits. But of course, although it’s a win-win scenario, casino should always have the highest edge than its players.
1379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: January 12, 2023, 06:09:46 AM
From time to time I use forebet to see what the AI predicted for the games I want to put a bet on but most of the times , AI predictions are completely wrong and barely hits anything. Besides this , why we should trust an AI predictions ? The information gathered and inserted into the program is simply way to much for an AI to predict accurate but some games from different competitions could be almost predictable as long as you insert good information and you track those teams , players , injuries etc....basically all the important data.
AI may seem beneficial in some aspects since it can predict the outcome well, but I don’t think it can also create a correct prediction in different gambling games most particularly in sports betting. Sports betting outcome will never be fixed and certain as everything has something to do with the present condition of the team players that will affect it’s over all performance in the game. So I don’t see AI is useful when it comes to that. I would still prefer using my own way of analyzing the game based on what I saw and observed during the game.
1380  Economy / Economics / Re: Rich Mindset vs Poor Mindset : 6 key differences on: January 11, 2023, 09:18:26 PM

Conclusion
👉👉Recognize where you stand and how you would like to move forward. Having a poor mindset may made your poor forever. The mindset you have will determine the level of your achievement.
.

Faith without work amounts to nothing. No pain no gain as they say it. If you have a good mindset that is not where it ends because you must have to work for that mindset that you have. If you are not doing well likewise you can change your destiny by working harder but working harder is not about the amount of muscles you have in your biceps but your ability to change your environment, ability to learn new things because if you are doing the same thing every day then don't expect a different result.
If you aim for positive changes, then work for it and stay focus on positivity along with faith. Do not just create action plans, but put it into action. Though losses are still inevitable, but it won’t be a big barrier to achieve what your set goals in life. Take some calculated risks if needed, as others would also say, no risks no gain. Lastly, stay patient and never be greedy. Everything good in life does not happen in an instant, does not have shortcuts, so just work on them one step at a time.
