1381  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You Learn More from Losses than from Wins on: January 10, 2023, 09:56:02 PM
Yes this is true. You never remember your big wins only your big losers and this is why you can’t trade with demo or play money. Because it will seem too easy and give you a false sense of security. You need to experience loss to be able to learn from it.

Hence it’s why it’s better trading with a small account than demo. Because the human emotion will be pretty much the same whether you lose $10 or $100. But if you trade with fake money then there is no emotion.
Trading with demo account will only be good for beginners but they should start trading with real money of course so they will experience losses and gains when trading. But it’s certainly more losses for beginners since it will create a motivation for them to improve their trading skills and strategies, and in every losses there will always be lessons to learn that will encourage traders to be good more when trading.
1382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Woman won $43million but was offered a steak dinner instead of her winnings on: January 10, 2023, 09:22:15 PM
This is a scam by the casino to prevent further losses with what happened. I don’t think it should be possible to do that to a people. Imagine if it’s someone of power and they do that to them. They would probably be fuming in anger with that.

I do hope that they find some way to pay for that. They owe her that much and not just a steak.
I don’t believe that the machine is malfunctioning, because if that’s the case, they should have removed it before the gambler use it. This is certainly another big scam made by the casino itself so they can avoid paying such a huge amount, which I think even if they pay, the casino bankroll will never be enough. The player should somehow report this to the gambling boards authority so that the casino will be reprimanded of its own action.
1383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Are Players Going To Trust Casinos If They Don't Show Solid Evidence on: January 09, 2023, 09:59:34 PM
I think it depends on the case of the accusation itself. the reason is, if the casinos with big names here do as you say.  automatically, the casino will lose the trust of its users and it will hurt their business. So, related to allegation cases. at least someone has to prove it with hard evidence, and if a user just shows screenshots it doesn't prove anything. then, how can we assess and examine it even more so in this discussion.

I'm pretty sure, if the casino is reputable and has a big name. will not take actions that will harm its users, except if the user commits fraud. anyway, if it happened. the one that will get the most big losses is the casino, that way we as players will choose a casino that can be more trusted.
Casinos will never be free from problems and accusations, regardless if they are scam accusations or not, as much as users too especially for those who are unsatisfied with casino’s services and promotions. But as long as every concern will be settled in the later part, that will not be a problem anymore. For reputable casinos will never leave the issues and problems unresolved, they will always resort into finding best solutions so that they will never lost the trust that their users have been giving them to.
1384  Economy / Economics / Re: The poor people with their reasoning on: January 09, 2023, 09:40:32 PM
People has a different mind set not all the poor people is not interested about investing on bitcoin there are also poor people that wanted to invest into it but the budget is very few and not enough for investing, so they choose not to do investing.

so true. we cannot presume everyone is of the same mind based on being rich or poor. because it's like you said that there are actually many poor people who also have thoughts about investing. However, it is their financial situation and condition that has limited them. because their income is sometimes only enough to be used right away. so they sometimes have nothing left to save and invest.
Yes, even if they want to, their funds would not be suitable enough as most of their money are already used from paying debts and buying the basic needs of the family. But if they will be given same opportunities like those rich people are enjoying, obviously they will always love the idea to invest. But since they remain less fortunate people, they will always consider putting food on the table first rather than making some investments.
1385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people store their cryptocurrency on exchanges? on: January 07, 2023, 08:31:19 PM

So much trust in CEX. Binance was once hacked and they refunded the affected users.
Majority I suppose are traders that's why coins are on exchanges. It's easy to buy and sell when it's all there in the exchange while that market fluctuates, you wouldn't go to go deposit and withdraw every time the market shifts. I do this but for a few coins only, Binance has a mobile app, easy to access. If you are to keep your coins for a long term, a hardware wallet would be fine.

Also, it gives more convenience on you knowing you don’t have to put to yourself  the whole responsibility of keeping it safe because the exchanges will do it for you. Although exchanges are not completely safe, but they can be trusted somehow with small amount of coins that you plan to trade when the market is already on positive shape.
1386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 07, 2023, 02:00:14 PM

I don't think he is messing though, I mean that's what he has been saying for many years, 2 rounds and he will knockout Davis. Perhaps this was due to Ryan knocking out opponents in round 1 back to back. I remember Duno, who also says that he will knock out Ryan, but he was done in round 1 and that makes Ryan very confident in knocking down his opponent early. He was crack by Luke Campbell, but he has great recuperating power from a punch, because after that big test, he was able to knockout Campbell with that huge body punch in the ribs.

He probably wants the public to hype Tank more if Tank could KO his opponent in round 1, and at the same time he will get more appreciation if he could also knock out Tank Davis in 3 rounds, hehe. it's possible with Garcia's power but this is Tank Davis, a great fighter who is a KO artist.

Trash talk or anything like that would add fire to the potential fight, but it will be more fun to watch then on the ring giving their best.

Just some couple of words to pressure Tank in defeating Hector early because if their fight will finish much longer, the hype will belong to Ryan Garcia and that's what he wanted because Ryan Garcia is like a self centered kid in my perspective who wanted to gather attention. But if Tank manages to finish the fight much earlier, it will still benefit Ryan Garcia because he's still be included in the upcoming scenario where people is expecting a good fight as both of them is a knockout artist.

Ryan Garcia can talk some trash out of Davis but the latter won't be affected, he's just too accustomed in those kind of things. But Ryan Garcia, I don't know, the kid has yet faced embarrassments.

Ryan Garcia probably just trying to calm himself and be confident facing one of the greatest boxers now. I actually like both fighters as they are not boring to watch, so this kind of trash-talking is good as it will hype the fight more and they will get their desired amount of money through what is generated in PPV and from the gate entrance.

Since this is a big fight, it's just normal to see some hype as it's a marketing strategy, and I'm pretty sure they will not disappoint the fans here since they are both aggressive, and we might be surprise that this fight will end earlier than expected.

1388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you experienced this kind of gambling on: January 07, 2023, 12:33:42 PM

Honestly, with all of my time that I gamble this is the first time of hearing about such strategy. It's unusual to see that there's this strategy that exists and if someone was able to win through this, well, it's amazing.

It is really a gambling strategy I consider as a critical and logical reasoning. Sometimes they can add the numbers up and arrive at another number and bet on it. Like the first week is 7,19 so they can add 7 + 19 = 36. That means they either bet on 7,19, 36 or divide 36 in two to arrive at a particular forecast they are looking at.
Most likely, I have observed this kind of strategy from those lottery bettors wherein they always remember numbers which repeatedly appear on television or news updates. Not just for jersey numbers alone but even any random number that has significantly involved from important news or events. However, some may work but mostly failed if they keep on relying from this strategy alone without good analytical skills.
1389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Deontay Wilder versus Andy Ruiz Title Eliminator on: January 07, 2023, 11:36:28 AM
I think I know already who will win this fight. Obviously, Wilder is the better fighter as he only losses to Fury, other boxers, he just dominated them and I don't think Ruiz is a legit champion although he once hold a belt. If the odds are available, I'll definitely bet on Wilder to win by KO.
1390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 07, 2023, 10:59:36 AM
Zach LaVine had himself a night in the Bulls win over the 76ers. He shot 11-13 from 3 point range on his way to 41 points. One of the better performances of his career.
I believe the issue inside is already fix. Zach Lavine now are playing like a real superstar, him and DeRozan are very efficient.
These bulls could be in the playoffs, who knows... They are winning games and beating strong teams, unlike in their past games where they struggle a lot.
It's a reborn bulls for me.

The Nets beat the Pelicans in a game that wasn’t so pretty. Durant scored 33 in an uncharacteristically inefficient night. It was Kyrie down the stretch who brought the game home for them though.

If Zion was playing, the result might be different.
1391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 07, 2023, 08:14:02 AM
Game 5 is very important and I'm sure both teams know it. The advantage of the winner in game 5 will put a lot of pressure on the losing team. The winning team can end the series in game 6.

In every game series, after it was tied in a 2-2, Game 5 is the considered turnaround of the series.

Teams winning in Game 5 won't be pressured at all entering Game 6 as win or loss, they will still have the chance next game. On the other hand, the losing team in Game 5 will be pressured to win in Game 6 as no chance at all if they will still lose it.

Bay Area Dragons are able to fight back without an import but it doesn't mean they can do it anytime. If no import again next game, Ginebra will now do everything to take advantage of it.

Lam act as the import for the Dragons, with those crucial shots in the last 5 minutes, you can't count how Pringle tried to stop him but that back to back to back crucial points from this guy gives the Dragons a good and comfortable lead before the last 2 mins of the final quarter, I can't tell if how Ginebra will adjust now.

They need to work and take the advantage if ever the Dragons will play again without the import. Game 4 really shows how eager the dragon in winning these series. They show everything and also they are now physical and let anything to happen.

With the trend, I think they will give game 5 to the Ginebra Gin Kings. I read some comments in facebook saying, PBA stands for "Philippine Business Association", that simply means they want to take this series to game 7 but will not put Ginebra in trouble so they'll give them a chance to be up and maybe game 7 will be for Ginebra Gin Kings.

Will they play Nicholson in game 5? I think that's a very important game for them, so if Nicholson could already play, that would help them improve their chance of winning. However, if we are talking of game rigging here, then that is not important anymore as either team could win even without their import as long as the calls are on their favor.
1392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco on: January 06, 2023, 12:32:15 PM

But I do believed that this is going to be a close fight and not going to be easy for Haney even if he turns to be the betting favorite.

Exactly, Haney will not dominate here completely as Loma has not been dominated yet in his boxing career. He use to be the one who dominate his opponent, so until I see that scenario against him, I would not think that Loma is already not good enough for a fighter like Haney who are still on his prime.

If these odds are true, then Haney is the heavy favorite.
Quote
Lomachenko, who struggled to beat Jamaine Ortiz last weekend, opened at +172 odds.
The opening odds mark the longest in the careers of both fighters.

https://www.thesportsgeek.com/news/devin-haney-a-sizable-favorite-in-potential-lomachenko-fight/

That will surely attract bettors if Loma will be listed at +172 in the bookies, however, since it's just a prediction, then we cannot ensure we will see the odds once their fight will be announced or official. Loma had only few fights in his career but most of them are against a quality opponent, that's why the boxing community has huge respect on him and he had a great ranking on the pound for pound during his prime.

Maybe this clippers team will bounce back next time, just like the Celtics when they had a blowout loss against the OKC.

They will for sure, next game they will be up against the Wolves who had won their previous game against the Blazers. They will play a back-to-back game and are now an underdog with +3.5, so I guess it will be a good steal if we will bet on the moneyline.
1395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 06, 2023, 10:11:09 AM
Unfortunately I was not able to watch this whole Celtics vs Mavericks game, but I saw in some highlights that Marcus Smart played well, and mainly his main characteristic which is his defense, worked well in this game, because I also agree that "only" 23 points for Luka it's not much, I immediately imagined that for this to have happened either Luka played badly or he was very well guarded.

Good thing you didn't watch the game but it turns out it was just a boring game. Honestly, I didn't expect that the Mavericks will lose by blowout in that game, they were playing very well at home, so I was expecting that they will at least make it tougher for the Celtics to beat them.

And isn't it in their home court? so fans are disappointed for sure to see their team lost his big as if there was no energy on the Mavs itself. And this is what we are talking earlier that when Luka doesn't get any help, their team will be doom.

So for him to score in 23 points is not that much for team to win the game. And so we go back as who will actually need to step and help him out specially in crucial games down the line.

They've face the best team in the East, although Celtics have been very inconsistent lately, they are still very good team and so I'm not surprised that they have win the game against the Mavs even at their homecourt.

They have the best defense in the league if I'm not mistaken, and they were able to cover Luka from the first quarter and didn't allow him to take over.

Tatum too has a quite but very impressive night.

I hope Dallas will learn from that mistake, they cannot rely heavily on Luka as good teams such as the Clippers have something to counter their strategy. Right now, the best teams are still the Warriors and the Celtics, some are just inconsistent and are not ready yet to be in the NBA Finals.

Well, we have the Bucks and the 76ers too, but Celtics will definitely take care of them.
1396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 06, 2023, 07:29:30 AM
I've read an article today, and according to it, it will still be Nicholson who will be their import in game 4. Maybe that's the reason why the odds favored the Ginebra and they are now favored by -2.5 points. This is the first time where Ginebra was listed as the favorite, and we all know that game 4 is a very important game for the Bay Dragons as they need to win to even the series.

I have also read that Nicholson won't be playing today because of injury and they will not field Powell as their import so i think that is the reason on the shifting of the odds and this may be a bad sign for those who bet for the Bay Area Dragons as not fielding an import is a sign that they are conceding this early in the series.

Thanks for the information, it's already official, I've read the news.
https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/andrew-nicholson-out-game-4-pba-commissioner-s-cup-finals-ankle-injury-ginebra-vs-bay-area-game-4-a2244-20230106

This isn't fun, so what are we expecting here? Will it be an easy win by the Gin Kings, or we will see an upset?
1397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the motives that drive you to gamble? on: January 05, 2023, 09:58:27 PM
Most gamblers are addicted to it. Is only few ones that can control themselves. I was once a gambling addict. Then I wasn't enjoy gambling because I feel so sad when I lose.. It take time before I can control this. Now I take gambling as fun because I gamble with money I can avoid to lose.
Several people I met told me that gambling is the same as trading crypto which means they don't use that money that they can use for the necessities of life. so with that strategy, if you lose all your money, you can continue your life without any burden to think about what have you to eat tomorrow. I used to say gambling for fun several moments ago, but when I think about it again, it's like a bullshit quote, because Fun if we are winning, and stress when we are loose. So, to overcome it, use the money that you can't use for life definitely will not burden you.
Personally, my motive is to gamble basically for profits and to have fun at least. And that is really possible if you are gambling your spare money, and you are not chasing for bigger profits all the time, or you are not chasing your previous losses as you will only lose in the long run. Until now, I could say this is still working for me.
1398  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Reasons why the 95% of future traders lose all of their money on: January 05, 2023, 09:31:21 PM
The reason for losing money in trading is that most traders are new to the crypto market and expect to make more profits in a short period of time, in which case they face more losses. To determine risk tolerance, start trading with a virtual account and analyze the market well. If you have limited risk capacity and cannot handle large losses then it is better to close the trade.
People lose money in trading for different reasons,  some maybe  because of not having good understanding about trading but they force their self in trading just to make money. Some people come into trading having a mindset to become rich without making good research to know the essence of trading. Lack of knowledge is the reason why people lose all of their money in trading. If traders should consider learning and having patience their wont be to much lose of money.
But the sad fact nowadays is that traders are more on earning for quick profits, and if they see the market is not cooperating, they end up panicking and lost their patience along the way, so they turned out to be losers instead of profiting. As long as people trade with emotions and greed, they will never be successful from trading and will continue to waste their money from trading.
1399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will it be profitable for the business? on: January 04, 2023, 09:39:46 PM
Suppose I am doing business through an online Facebook page and website and want to accept Bitcoin. But now if I look at cryptocurrencies it comes with high volatility, and I have doubts whether accepting Bitcoin will be profitable for my business.
I really want to know your opinion on this and what are the initial steps I should take if I adopt cryptocurrency for my business? Because I see many people on the forum are taking steps to accept Bitcoin for businesses and that's why these questions araised in my mind.

Remember that bitcoin is always good for long term investment so if you tend to keep it and hold it for long term, then never expect for quick profits. Yes it will be profitable but not in the present but certainly for future profits. So it’s actually your choice. But to be honest, it’s good to take advantage and grab chances of accumulating bitcoin at the moment, because regardless of its high volatility, it’s always certain that it’s value will keep on growing, and the longer you hold it, the more profitable you become in the future.
1400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis VS Hector Luis Garcia SAT, JAN 07, 2023 on: January 04, 2023, 08:59:11 PM
We will see, because we really don't know who is telling the truth in this case, but probably the lessons here for Tank is just to surround himself with good people and not those who wants to take advantage of him, and now he will be dragged in this court case wherein he should be enjoying his holiday and then looking for a fight against Hector Garcia first week of January, not it seems to be in jeopardy including his fight with Ryan Garcia.
With all the wealth that Tank possess, it’s not impossible that some people are just there for him for his own wealth and that they can actually take advantage on him in the future. But whatever the truth of this matter, I guess it should be a lesson for Tank to chose people to whom he can be trusted so that he will not be betrayed or end up with the same scenario. I just hope this event can still be resolve before his fight with Hector Garcia takes place.
