1881  Economy / Lending / Re: Bitcoin short term loan on: November 28, 2019, 05:29:33 AM
A post from a brand new account asking for over 3500 dollars without a collateral and promising 1750 dollars in less than 2 weeks.
It's too good to be true hence a scam.
1882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cyber criminals are using Youtube to install-Crypto jacking software on: November 28, 2019, 03:02:36 AM
If you are fond of watching Youtube and clicking links on it this is something you should be aware of
Quote
Slovakian software security firm Eset has uncovered that cyber criminals behind the Stantinko botnet have been distributing a Monero (XMR) cryptocurrency mining module via Youtube.

More of this story here:
https://cointelegraph.com/news/cyber-criminals-are-using-youtube-to-install-cryptojacking-malware

Youtube is not a place to download softwares. 90% of those available in youtube description and comments are loaded with malwares and adwares. You can visit Youtube to watch a tutorial but you should visit the official websites to download the legit copy of the software. People even fall for obviously malware content like bitcoin generators and bitcoin collecting bots.
1883  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biggest Shopping Mall in USA Goes All in BTC ATMs for Holiday on: November 28, 2019, 02:15:38 AM
I don't think bitcoin is fit for this situation. transfer fee would be too high for a small amount of money, other kind of altcoins would be great.
anyway, things are going wild there. happy to see cryptocurrency's being applied
If you'll be doing transactions below $100 I can't recommend you using bitcoin as a payment method but if you'll be doing big transactions on mall specially on a shopping trip bitcoin would really benefit you because sometimes people tend to exceed their credit cards limit for a transaction so bitcoin would be beneficial for that.

Nevertheless it's a great move towards crypto adoption. If you happen to have just crypto no cash than it'd be cheaper and easier to pay in crypto than to convert it to fiat to pay.
Transaction fees can be lowered using alts, lightning network or internal transfer like that within coinbase mail.
1884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Upbit exchange was hacked. 342,000 ETH lost on: November 27, 2019, 03:24:08 PM
It's still not clear about the nature of hack. Exchanges have been exploited and hacked using different vulnerabilities and they are patching it everytime a loophole appears.
I hope more and more exchange would learn from it and work together to create a hack free environment on exchanges. And I also hope that this hack won't have much effect on the users.
1885  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the next Bitcoin halvening could be the most dramatic one yet on: November 27, 2019, 02:38:14 PM
This would be a much waited event and still the most uncertain one.
The halving of litecoin showed that a bearish market won't stop the price from rising. But again Bitcoin is a hot topic for investment and with all those leverage trading, whales and exchanges may act in an unpredictable way to make the price much more volatile.
1886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Much Money You Need To Win To Stop gambling, Is This Possible. on: November 27, 2019, 12:32:11 PM
I don't think people gamble to leave. It's just the people that don't love gambling that tries ones and leaves. A person who gets the taste of gambling won't leave it for life.
A huge loss may force some people to stop gambling but a win would not stop anyone.
Though it's always recommended to withdraw your winning and just gamble with what you've left.
1887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next News from Ether. on: November 27, 2019, 12:26:22 PM
There are several reasons why the Ethereum is changing it's blockchain. Ethereum became the largest blockchain just after some years in service and it was unable to catch up with scalibility. Supply is the another thing this upgrade seem to solve with a flexible yet small increment in the supply every year. Changing into POS would also make it environment friendly and would be the largest coin by market cap that is POS.
1888  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin up 250,000% in Less Than a Decade Compared to S&P 500’s 147% on: November 27, 2019, 11:43:45 AM
New form of investment are always a good chance for huge profit but they also have large risks. Bitcoin was valueless in 2009 and was cheap in 2011 but even the most of the miners, buyers and holders hadn't imagine bitcoin would be worth thousands of dollars one day. Bitcoin now has proved that's its not just another bubble and is here to stay.
1889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is NOW the time to get into Ethereum ? on: November 26, 2019, 11:37:20 PM
Yes, I know that there are many coins , and everyone has a favourite. But with the Ethereum 2.0 upgrade close, the move to Proof of Stake and the performance improvements promised , is now the time to get seriously into Ethereum ? I discuss this in the following video , as well as the opportunity it provides :

https://youtu.be/O8gTpGu9D_c

By the way , if you forward to 13:15 I also share my equation for getting Bitcoin at a lower price

I too feel Ethereum is being underrated at the moment. Ethererum has went through many technological upgrades and are better than ready to compete with other utility tokens.
The price of Ethereum has not recovered as much as bitcoin with their move to POS, the supply too would be much more sustaining.
1890  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your thoughts about Greta Thunberg on: November 26, 2019, 12:06:10 PM
As the Foo fighter says, Just another product of today. I'm not a climate change denier and I believe everyone should work to slow down climate change.
But she's being portrayed as a messiah of climate activist while she is just a TRP material for the media. There are millions of people that are actually working to protect nature and fight against climate change but they never comes into such spotlight as this kid who's words are scripted by some grown up does.
It's like watching the movie.
1891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The ridiculous projects of this year on: November 26, 2019, 11:47:47 AM
Now 2020 is already getting nearer i want to know which projects are the most ridiculous this year, either through investing or bounty hunting, for me its BlueNote, a bounty project from a well known bounty manager called 'Arteezy'. With due respect Arteezy have conduct good bounties as well like tokoin among others, What about you?

NOTE: do not rely on bounty managers when selecting bounty projects, do your own research

Almost all of the projects were ridiculously under funded this year. Even the large name as Bitbond failed to get the cap they were expecting for.
I'd call bitbond one of the most ridiculous project of this year. They were a good STO and has promised atleast 4% per year return on the investment that could reach to 8%.
They are licensed in Germany and 4% is huge compared to what German banks are providing the interest in. They also have the scheme to buy back all tokens on maturity after 10 years.
1892  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal CEO Is a HODLr, but Only Owns Bitcoin on: November 26, 2019, 10:28:43 AM
Glad to see Paypal CEO being bullish on bitcoin and sad to see Paypal still has not implemented any way to fund the wallet with bitcoins. Moreover their anti crypto instance on crypto trading is putting down many users. Skrill at least has integrated bitcoin deposit for selected market but the startup founded by crypto enthusiast Elon Musk and headed by a bitcoin holder is still suspending accounts of users buying and selling crypto.
1893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS Recognized as the Top Blockchain by Esteemed Research Analysts on: November 26, 2019, 10:15:14 AM
EOS certainly is a project with a huge possibilities. It has solved many problems the ETH blockchain is still suffering from and has one of the largest growth of clients in new utility tokens. It just comes in second after Ethereum for having a large number of dapps. It's just the bearish market thats bringing the EOS down. If we have a boost in the prices, there would be much more projects coming to EOS.
1894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If You Bought Bitcoin Each Week in 2019, You’d Be up 49% on: November 26, 2019, 10:10:42 AM
I would try to do it next year every time that I would have a spare money I would put it in Bitcoin and see how much I could get for a whole year.
This could be a great way to save some money for my future and for an emergency expenses.

I don't think this would be an effective way of investment. Because putting your money despite of the market condition is not maximizing the profits that you can get from it, also, missing out on the chances of getting the most out of bitcoin. If you would always buy in a consistent time, always consider selling when the market declines. Keep your fund in stable coins, and buy back again when the market stabilizes. Saving money in Bitcoin is not a good idea if you don't know how it behaves, so try to take advantage of its volatility.

You can always select an average point, say, $8K and buy everytime the price drops below that and sell everytime the price hits $10K and hold in the between.
If I or anybody had really followed that rule in 2019, they would have yielded a nice profit.
1895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How exchanges treat the stolen Money? on: November 25, 2019, 04:25:56 PM
I am curious to know, how Exchanges treat the stolen money or hack money? Are they really aware of it? Just think, your fund has been hacked and transferred from your wallet to another wallet and then it's deposited to an exchange. If you claim to the exchange about the money, Are they not responsible for taking necessary action? What do you think?

Exchanges has been coming together to track the money stolen or hacked from the exchange. But they won't react about your hacked coin as you would not have sufficient proof to and tracking to justify the ownership of the coin. Even if you have that, the amount would be too small for the exchange to track over. They may change their mind for a large amount.
1896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened with telegram TON ICO ?? on: November 25, 2019, 03:53:07 PM
Telegram TOn ( Gram TOken) which raised huge amount in ICO as far i knew they raised 850 million in first round agian in second round also same even after this much fund raise . I don't see any progress . This kind of ICO's really ruining crypto funds . People are loosing belief on Crypto Currency .

There were rumors that Telegram is finally launching a public ICO officially but again with the warning fro SEC, they have put a hold on the date of issuance of the ICO as they believe  they might actually get a permission to operate their fundraising in US. Though things could be different. The private investors are getting insecure while there are no visible development on the TON project.
1897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Clipboard hacking restarted again on: November 25, 2019, 03:37:54 PM
I once lost my funds with the similar malware in my windows. That why I double check the initial and final texts of my address to be sure. I have also dumped windows for an alternative OS and my use my browser with very few extensions and zero addons. I also prefer scanning the QR code than typing in the address in case of sending from mobile wallets like coinbase and coinomi.
1898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China implements new strict controls on Cryptocurrency on: November 25, 2019, 11:08:57 AM
China has unrealistic aims. It was peace and prosperity without individual freedom and it wants to develop and lead in blockchain technology denying the real cryptocurrencies.
Needless to say they'll fail in both of their aims unless they correct them early. Bitcoin can prosper without Chinese government.
1899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Are all exchange going to Alive in near future? on: November 25, 2019, 12:17:40 AM
We can't be sure about the numbers. Of course the number of exchanges and coins would grow and similarly some of them would cease to exist.
There are still a large population and capital left outside of crypto and exchanges so the market for expansion is huge but also the current market are mostly speculative and for some exchanges fake. I think in future we will have more exchanges and coins but they'll be better than what we have now.
1900  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: According to Nick Szabo “Bitcoin Could Survive Nuclear War” on: November 24, 2019, 11:27:12 PM
As mentioned above, lack of internet could lead to delayed transaction and hence unusable blockchain but if you still have an active internet which could even be possible as we have seen internet has been a priority of war struck zones, a nuclear war may boost bitcoin use. Bitcoin is the stability in chaos. We have seen it's use increase in troublesome condition like in Venezuela and Zimbabwe. And also when countries are isolated economically like Iran and Russia.
