2021  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is difference between HODL and staking? on: February 07, 2022, 06:06:56 PM
The two terms actually have almost the same goal, namely to earn income without having to carry out trading activities. if HODL we aim to hold the coins we have until we sell them at the price we want. while in staking, we bet the coins we have without having to do anything in the time that the project has created. and the amount of income depends on the number of coins we have
That if the person is hodling or staking for long term but what if not? And what if the person is itchy to touch his asset? He will just sold his coins if he is holding it or he will just unstake his coins in a staking platform to get his profit and then he will start all over again. What he was doing is not staking or hodling anymore but what he was doing is like trading, it makes no sense.

We should ask our selves first if what is our goal so that we know if what activity is best for us because we can stick with that. If there are difference between staking and holding I think I would say that holding is easier and more accessible and allows you to earn more.
2022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 07, 2022, 10:52:45 AM
The franchises were not banned. They were given a temporary suspension of two years and after that they were re-admitted into the IPL. In case of Raj Kundra, he just transferred the ownership of the franchise to his wife (Shilpa Shetty) and Mr. Meiyappan also did the same by transferring the shares to his wife (Rupa Gurunath, the daughter of N Srinivasan). I would call this as inadequate punishment. And mafia don Srinivasan was kicked out by the supreme court, and not because of the betting scandal. NDA won the elections in 2014 and that was what actually caused the downfall of Srinivasan (who is affiliated to the UPA).
With this all we can understand now this betting mafia is working all under control of political influence which is deadly because politicians are very strong currently in India and no one can give them challenge and surely this is going to be very productive for them and these franchise owners like they have some very good benefits from film industry through underworld in last few decades and finances is also surely going to increase so many other boards and players will be happy to enjoy their spot here in IPL.

Just because of this all now ICC is also favouring this event with having window for them and not taking any complaints and just pushing other weak boards for tough restrictions and rules.
2023  Economy / Economics / Re: Facebook ("Meta") down 25% in a day on: February 06, 2022, 05:21:54 PM
FB lost users for the first time and they heavily invested in the future of META which don't look like a good bet to me. All I see is a dead company which refuses to acknowledge its status. Companies rise and fall all the time. People cheered up a lot when Myspace died and FB took over... Guess what, FB is not invincible neither. Something else is killing FB. (Tiktok?) Paypal is also dying and leaving lots of sorry af bagholders behind.

There are too many of those overvalued companies in the markets. One down, many left.
That's weird if someone is happy with the fall of others but i think the one that is happy the most are the owner of the rival company because they can now finally won the competition but the users of the platform were sad because they cannot access their accounts again and it looks like the karma have finally come to facebook. They are now doing what they can to be able to save their beloved company.

They even changed its name because they think people will embrace it but it seems that it was still not enough. On the other hand I do not think paypal is also going to die because there are still users of it and bitcoin or cryptos is not yet accepted on most online stores.
2024  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A little reminder why Bitcoin is necessary on: February 05, 2022, 06:26:54 AM
how does bitcoin help in cases like this? Terms and conditions like this exists almost everywhere. They can change or terminate the Terms of service anytime they want. They are not bound to keep it the same nor are they forced to inform their users when the terms and conditions changes (but almost all platforms do notify their users out of goodwill). If a platform doesn't like you they can give you the "boot" if they want. Lets say you want to buy something from a crypto store. You make a deposit or make the payment. The online crypto store doesn't like you and bans your account as per their ToS. You lose your coins. Bitcoin couldn't protect you from events like this. Plan to do a p2p transaction then? You send the money, the person doesn't like you, he scams you. You can't do anything about that.
This was only a miss interpretation. They cant ban someone just because they do not like the person and what is their basis on why they do not like that person? Because, their profile picture is ugly? No, but they will only ban you once you have done something that are against their rules. Let us not be paranoid because we are going to be just fine as long as you are following their basic rules and your not doing shady things

OP compares btc to paypal because btc has no central authority while paypal was owned by a team or a group of people and they can do whatever they want with your funds but the situation still depends and you already explained that in more elaborated manner.
2025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Braintrust. Your opinion? on: February 04, 2022, 08:32:11 PM
After the initial spike of this 2021 Alt, I has only declined. Connecting freelancers is it's mission. Should I hold?
Doesn’t really seem like the kind of project I would like to invest in. If you feel it is going to be worth it for you in the future, well it’s up to you. But for me, I am going to really avoid that kind of coin because, like someone has pointed out in the comment, the freelancing sector is one of the unnoticed, so investing in this coin with the hope that it is going to yield lots of profit back to you is probably going to be like you’re wasting your time.

And if I’m going to be talking about top freelancing platforms that are already out there and bigger than this, it is a big competition that this would end up getting swallowed by the bug ones.
2026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is deflationary? on: February 04, 2022, 08:04:00 PM
No, it's not. And it won't be I think. It's inflation will be quite low though, and this will help ETH price to grow in the long run - that's for sure. Bitcoin is a bit deflationary - because of the lost coins.
Nah, that’s not true, Ethereum is also deflationary. If you have been following up you would know that ETH has been burning a lot of coins. The last time that I checked they have burned about 1.5 million Ether according to my source, which was more than the number of ETH was created that week. This started since the EIP-1559 introduced a new burning mechanism in the ETH platform. But normally like you have said, the inflation would be low even if it wasn’t deflationary, because they set a more predictable transaction fees in an effort to lower the rate of congestion on the network.
2027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: February 04, 2022, 06:39:07 PM
The next big thing for the industry has to be casinos in the metaverse right? I’m sure every casino on the Vegas strip has a room full of coders slapping together the framework for their own metaverses. Virtual reality tech has gotten to the point where things like Walmart’s demonstration of their metaverse will be a reality for every big company. Gambling seems like one of the more obvious beneficiaries of this move and I think it will become a major use case for crypto in 5-10 years.
In the metaverse world, we can do anything we want virtually but the experience wont be complete without of course playing a gambling inside it so this is possible. Almost every new projects that we see now has a relation to metaverse but usually they are video game's and I rarely saw a gambling site so far but in the upcoming months and years why not? But, before the metaverse craze came out I already saw a minecraft game where you can play gambling inside it.

It was so cool but there is only one game it can support. That might be the reason why it is not really that successful but it is not too late for them to continue developing the game .
2028  Economy / Speculation / Re: How come BTC is not at least $75,000 yet? on: February 04, 2022, 03:58:58 PM
We recently saw the market trying to attempt the price of the bitcoin at the 70k usd but again it depends on the holder and investor if they keep trying to support the market. We saw previously another dump and it affects the economic issue which is the market dump and decline of Russia to support the use of the bitcoin. Another chance to make it attempt for another ATH is the newcomer investors.
They did not know that btc is trying its best to come up in a price where it can it meet our expectations but unfortunately other factors are much stronger than btc. We have die hard supporters that will keep on holding their btc and there are only less sellers which can have an impact on the price of btc but I think it was the manipulators and the whales that keeps on pulling the price.

I do not think the decline of the price has to do with Russia because if I am not mistaken we are already on the dump before the issue of Russia came out but that news was not new, it is like china that bans bitcoin and then re allow it again. We still have a hope for btc to touch greater prices in the future.
2029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 03, 2022, 08:28:21 PM
This has been a trend from the start of the season that Howard has been playing insanely well in every match but he is only given 10 to 15 minutes of playtime which is very unfair to him.

If he's played more the Lakers would have been in a better position that's for sure. He managed 10 points and 7 rebounds in on 11 minutes last game and if he's given at least 25 minutes, he could easily double that stats. I don't know what the problem is, maybe it's an internal clash or political reasons but it needs to be fixed soon.
The thing is Vogel is an analyst coach, which means that he takes a look at the numbers they have and the numbers other teams have and watches game tape and tries to figure out plays and ways to stop it and so forth.

Basically he wants to win the game before it even starts. We have seen plenty of videos that explains how this is done, Lakers even shared a video of it themselves but the reality is that he still fails to see how great Howards could be. He sees Lebron at Center, he sees AD at Center who doesn't want to be there, and he still fails to see Howard there. I would have been long gone if I was Howard, he doesn't deserve to get this little amount of minutes, he is acted as if he is a washed terrible player but he is still good enough if you ask me.
2030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The market is at the most oversold level on: February 03, 2022, 07:22:07 PM
indeed the market seems to have reached oversold levels, but even so the market is still unpredictable and no one knows when there will be massive increases and decreases. but if you look at the market movements that have occurred in the last few days, it is very likely that crypto will return to the bullrun track, and is a sign that the bear market is coming to an end.
It would be great if the Bear market could end soon this month because there are many people who are waiting for the price increase of all the coins that are already in the market even though things that involve speculation are still happening today.
Like they always say patience is the best quality to have in cryptos if you want to succeed. I am not hating you or anybody but why you guys cant seem to wait? Why you want the bear market to end as much as possible ? jut because you want to sell your coins? But, why not have more patience. Sure it is not easy but hard things are always rewarding.

Rewarding because when you hodl your coins a little longer, you are qualified for more all time high's. All time highs do not come often so do not miss the chance. On the other hand,  there are people that have not entered yet or people that are not done yet buying for some reasons and I think they are also wishing that the bear can last a little longer.
2031  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The market is confusing on: February 03, 2022, 06:09:59 PM
What we want to follow is not something that we just decide on our own intuition and gut feeling, but based on analyses. With the challenging nature of crypto market, technical lysis are what somehow gives a clear expectation of what could go down the road. But, nothing is really certain, hence the volatility. My personal take on this is that analyses could go just about right, close to reality, or the opposite, based on the level of expertise on how it is done. So, it is within our personal decisions on what analysis to believe and follow.
technical analysis do also have its level? That's interesting and I never thought of that before. It is better to use technical analysis than not using anything at all because this could help us to at least achieve our predictions and if we are not really that successful at first few tries , that's alright because our level of expertise is still low but we can keep on trying till we rise on a much higher level.

Market is so confusing yes that was true but what can we do? That's how cryptocurreny works but that makes crypto interesting because all has a chance to make a profit and this profit can be higher that none of us would imagine but let us be careful because the opposite can also occur.
2032  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Choosing the right exchange on: February 03, 2022, 11:23:49 AM
I am wondering why Binance exchange is not part of this journey ? instead of Gate.io why not choose Binance instead?

anyway that is your funds and you are the one can decide , but if i were you try to use binance for more safer and features like staking and other good offers .
We do not know maybe he did not include binance in the choices because we all know how strict binance is when it comes to trading on their website and they require a KYC so maybe this is the reason why the op is avoiding it but for the other exchanges like kucoin and gate, these exchanges were maybe less stricter and I heard that you do not need to do a KYC for a basic level or basic trade in kucoin but I am not sure about gate if they have almost the same rule as I never tried trading on this exchange yet.

The advantage of using binance is like you said more safer but staking? Staking is also available on many exchanges but most of all is the volume's in binance is very high.
2033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: February 02, 2022, 09:19:09 PM
So far, its just a single slot left and that is, the 4th place and Arsenal is more than capable to take over that slot. They've been more impressive compared with the 3 other teams in the likes of Manchester United that now occupies the spot, West Ham United and Tottenham. Its not going to be an easy game at all as all four teams knows the value of this spot and with Arsenal now solely focused on the EPL haven't been eliminated from other leagues, they should do even more better.
With there Chelsea fixture being postponed, they should have better luck with Brentford to better position themselves on the league. Hopefully, they won't overrated themselves and be surprised by Brentford.
Arsenal has one off worst start in this season and no one were having any thought about this but suddenly Arteta settle things against all odds and bring team on this position which is amazing but suddenly now they are having issues again as now Auba is no more here, and they already sell some other players as well with having no good back up for their strength which is unusual from management with this all now we have just one spot left for next year's Champions League and now Tottenham, Manchester United and West Ham all doing very good mean Arsenal have very few chances for Champions League but if they handle in positive way then surely they can go through into UEFA Europa Cup and then for next season they will have some better things and time for better end of their spot and better way for staying into top rank in this English Premier League.
2034  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League Thread 2021/2022 on: February 02, 2022, 08:41:53 PM
Today EFL English Championship is having 2 matches and right now we are heading for end of first half with both matches are without any goal but here is Derby which is already facing some serious financial issues having very early red card against Huddersfield which is already at fifth place and with win of this match looking for having some strong case for playing play-offs for promotion into Premier League for next season and Derby is now all set for relegation to League one because they are already lost 21 points from The FA due to their issue and right now 23rd ranked with very few hopes to stay here.

In other match, Cardiff vs Barnsley is also goalless and Barnsley is also having no hope of staying here as they are at bottom with just 15 points.
2035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't punic, just hodl on: February 02, 2022, 06:15:33 PM
We are only able to make adjustments in current conditions, there is nothing we can do other than maintain the security and assets we have, so it is important to maintain the investment sources we have, in order to avoid losses caused by attitudes and behaviors that are not able to adapt. in market conditions like now, big investors know what gaps and opportunities should be exploited, so that's not what they do.
So what are they (investors) doing now?
Because if it's only limited to being patient and maintaining existing assets, I think everyone can do it well as long as someone is able to do it, so the matter of adjusting to current conditions is a matter of strategy for each individual.
What do you mean by everyone can do it when someone is able to do it? ah I know, you mean to say if they are willing they can do it but if they are not willing, they cant do it no matter what. What are investors doing now?

Well, obviously they are buying right now because right now the prices of cryptos are still not recovering. They wont be called investors if they will only hold and never buys. Only hodlers are the one that holds right now. It is us people that needs to adjust because the market wont adjust for us. The market can only offer the results if what are we doing with our cryptos. Like if when we hold the market shows green and if we sell the market will show red.
2036  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Government Really Ban Crypto? on: February 02, 2022, 04:30:26 PM
I personally don't think so, the shot above says it all, Any government banning crypto is like Nokia and Android, if you know the story, then you understand what I mean, but for those who don't know the story, I will Share a little about.
<snip>
This same thing will happen to countries that refuse to embrace crypto today.
[/center]
Such an interesting story you got there if we apply the story on the current situation. Almost all countries right now are like nokia that still uses an old operating system and only few countries like El Salvador are like alcatel because they are the first to adopt crypto. For those who did not know alcatel was the first mobile phone manufacturer that adopts android OS and later on followed by Samsung, vivo, oppo and others. If we can see, many mobile phone manufacturer follows the step done by alcatel because they also saw the potential of android OS.

We can expect the same thing on countries that have not adopted cryptos yet.
2037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 01, 2022, 06:06:16 PM
And also probably it's because India was the first country to do something like this if I remember correctly!
Probably the first one was called ICL instead of IPL. And in that tournament almost every country sent a team of their own, unlike the IPL which was a mixture of players from different countries.
I think that is also a reason why IPL is so popular. And it really unlikely that any other League will surpass IPL in any way.
There is no doubt IPL is one of most popular league in world, and they have same rating as English Premier League have in soccer and no other league can compete with them in terms of popularity and finances, but another thing is also true from this market many other leagues also can take their own share which will help them for having fair enough profit for their own.

After Carry Packer this is second revolution is cricket history which changes all things very quickly for benefit of players and their respective boards and now bilateral cricket is going to face some tough time with this all because right now we have nearly 6 leagues and few also coming which will create problems, and we will have just these leagues and ICC Cups for some International exposure of the game of cricket.
2038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Looking To Invest $50-$100 In New Projects Any Ideas? on: February 01, 2022, 04:45:58 PM
Maybe look up some good gaming project or new meme coin that seems to incorporate smart contract and nfts but for gaming I will suggest anything that looks like is going to have lots of users and the gameplay looks good enough Thetan arena is a big example gods unchained, mytheria and lots more but I will suggest you make one or two dyor before aping into any project
Meme era has ended already but even if they are here investing on them is a suicide but I could better invest more on gaming projects because gaming has always been a thing more over on this era where games are now playable on mobile devices, add in the ability to earn using a cypto is a good combo that everyone is surely going to look for.

I have heard gods unchained and that an arena but I can recommend then a arena more as it is fun and it is still new. Investing 50 to 100 dollars in the game can already go a long way. Another thing that is good to pick up now are nft's as  their market value is pretty expensive. You can invest and sell them at a much higher rate.
2039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current discussion: AFCON - Quarter Finals. on: February 01, 2022, 09:44:01 AM
Egypt will definitely be Cameroon's biggest task yet this tournament, and honestly I wouldn't write-off the Egyptians chances of making it to the finals, Cameroon look the better team, but they've really not been under any really pressure, while the Egyptian have played through all tournament long, and that might be in their favor in this fixture.

Cameroon vs Senegal is my expectations for the Finals btw.
Start was not good for Egypt but after reaching into knock out stage now their performance is on other level after beating Morocco they are feeling some good and these both teams Cameroon vs Egypt is playing against each other after 14 years which is good gape and in history Egypt is having some advantage which is also good.

Even I am also feeling same like you most chances we will have Cameroon vs Senegal but as I am saying still it's not easy for Cameroon to beat them their current squad is very good and competitive with some good skill full players so most chances we will have winner from this group for title of this year AFCON Cup because these both teams have ability to win which is good even bookies are feeling in other way with Senegal hot favourite this year.
2040  Economy / Economics / Re: Buy Crypto Or Have Fun Staying Poor! on: January 31, 2022, 07:06:23 PM
Investing in fiat or crypto do not guarantee profits all the time, as there were times where we end up losing. And definitely, both of them can always make us poor. But skills and strategies really matter. Even in fiat or the traditional investment, if you know how to roll your capital and makes it work every time, you will really become rich in time. But let's just say there are bigger opportunities in crypto that will make us rich in less time. Although it has higher risk, but it gives us more satisfaction when it comes to profit making.
One example that can make you rich overnight in cryptos are investing in shitcoins or on the late memcoins because they are overly hyped but for them to give you a satisfaction? I am not sure with that but I think that once you profited from them , you will again repeat the process up to a point that you will start losing. What is the real satisfying is when you finally harvest your gains after a long time of investing.

You will also repeat this but its okay as its not that risky as investing in shitcoins. Being poor is not fun, I know because I am currently in this situation, that is why I am also here in crypto, investing and hoping to change my life.
