2061  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How should i diversify my crypto portfolio? on: August 22, 2022, 08:10:13 PM
How should i diversify my crypto portfolio?

I feel like im gambling by going all in one crypto like ETH and the drops are hitting me very hard with its high volatility compared to BTC
Majority here will think that it's better to invest most in BTC, there are old school thoughts that at least 60% will be in BTC and the rest should be divided on solid altcoins like ETH, BNB etc.

But if you don't like volatility, I mean if you are afraid that your portfolio going down hard when the market crashes, then you should diversify to other assets such as stocks, gold or even real states. But then again, you should need a huge capital if you want to do that.
2062  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin bear market over? on: August 22, 2022, 10:50:09 AM
Oh well, the answer is already right in our face, it will be interesting whether we are going to test the lowest low again or not. But in any case, the bear market is not over and it could last for the next year or so. Yes, I know that there is a lot of uncertainties and we don't want to experience it. But as the market is in a cycle, and as much as we anticipate a bull market, we should also take into consideration the inevitable bearish this year, as we can't do anything about it. Not even whales can manipulate and control the market to move into a positive direction.
2063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October on: August 22, 2022, 09:59:06 AM
Lomachenko, as far as we know, is the godfather of the children of another Ukrainian boxer, Oleksandr Usyk, and his fight will take place much later than Usyk's fight, so he may well support his compatriot and win. However, considering that Ortiz fully justifies his nickname as technical and he has not lost yet, so Lomachenko will have to try very hard.

I think its Ortiz who should try to work here, he is the underdog and he is up against a very skilled, quick with a good generalship he is fighting the kind of boxer that he has not fought in his whole career, Loma has fought fighters like or better than Ortiz in the past, he has an injury when he fought Lopez, that is why he lost the fight, if we will see a healthy Loma we can see similar fights like the Commey fight, a healthy Loma can beat any great boxer.

Indeed this will be a huge test for Ortiz since some reply here stated that Ortiz hasn't fought any decent fighter yet, let alone Loma who is a very skilled one.  Ortiz should prepare and study Loma closely in order for him to at least match the pace of Loma if not outpaces him.  We may think that this is the same as a walk in the park for Loma but we can't tell if that will be the case since I think Ortiz will be fully prepared for this fight.  I am sure no boxer wanted his career to be blemished.
It will not be a walk in the park fight for Loma here, Ortiz has a lot of potential and an upcoming fighter. But I guess it's not his time yet because Loma is very eager to show his talent once more. And as others have said, his compatriot just won the heavyweight and retain the belt, so it should create a positive impact for him in this fight. But we shouldn't totally write off Ortiz, he may have something special in this fight and he is very much younger so that will be one of his advantage if he can go and outpace Loma's punch output.
2064  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK on: August 22, 2022, 09:12:21 AM
If Joshua managed to have beaten Usyk in the rematch he could have entered the ring to meet Fury in an all British unification fight that would have brought in unbelievable wealth for him but instead it is Usyk that will receive the fee.
Yes, at least that is what we are expecting, an all British showdown in the Heavyweight division, sold out O2 arena and Brits are raving about it. Unfortunately, even if Joshua has change his corner and getting a US trainer in Robert Garcia, he still lost to a good boxer in Usyk.

You are right upsets can happen in sport but Fury will need to mess up badly in order for Usyk to win and I just do not see it happening. I think Fury will go in to the ring with the intention it will be his swansong therefore he will be confident and he will win.

if they will indeed see huge payout for this match, their promoters will schedule this as soon as possible. remember, many times money matters when it comes to these respective promoters. and of course the purse split among their boxers. voted for fury here as well. and based from the poll, users here are rooting for fury. but we can never be sure as upsets in boxing always happen.
And everything is still in the hands of Fury, for sure he will be the A-side of this fight. And we have been saying that Usyk is a technical boxer, but there is none that we can compare at this division with Fury. And I agree that this could be Fury's swansong fight, even greater than his Wilder victories.
2065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 22, 2022, 08:54:23 AM
Lakers is indeed a powerful team so its players should also represent the outstanding performances that the team needs. However, with Westbrook, even if he has not made outstanding performances in the previous games, but I don’t think Lakers will pursue trading Westbrook, instead the team will add more players that bring more asset to the team.
They are not pursuing it because no team is willing to make a trade. That's why they should just forget about it and move on, use Westbrook as one of their key players again and see if this time he would be productive. Maybe it just needs time to adjust and build some chemistry with Lebron and AD for us to see his worth.

They should give it a try if this trio could work. Last season, they only played together for 21 games. I think no one could build reliable chemistry if you only played too few games together. If AD and Lebron can stay healthy, maybe they could eventually have chemistry with Westbrook. And who knows, their coach wanted Westbrook to remain, maybe he has something in mind that could make Westbrook fit better with the Lakers.
Ham already says that he wanted Westbrook to stay with the Lakers as he might have something in mind for the 3 to work out and make a good chemistry. And I agree that 20 games is not enough for them to build a rapport and it should be consistent as well. But they have their issues like AD getting injured and then Lebron so it's really hard for the Lakers to win games if any of the 3 are injured or not playing.
2066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: List of psychological tricks that casinos use. on: August 20, 2022, 09:15:21 AM
The clock though it is very obvious, they don't put one so that you won't notice the time and even if you have your own watch, you will seldom look at it specially if you are winning.

And yeah, the design, the placement of the slots and then they will get the slot that will have a good audio and sound in front to that when someone comes in, the first thing they noticed is that machine. I still remember one player, he says that when he ever goes to a casino, those slot machines seems to be calling him, lol.
2067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is no one worried about this on: August 20, 2022, 04:24:13 AM
What are we going to do about the 2 billion worth of BTC that Mt Gox plans to release very soon to the public, won't this make BTC crash heavily or the rumour is fake?.
No it's not a rumor, and could have been the news that affected the market recently as bitcoin is going down. However, part of the settlement is that they will be paid in cash, and then some in crypto like BTC and Bitcoin Cash.

Although I think that it will have a huge impact to the market, it might be short term though. Or at least investors are not worried about it because as I have said, part of it is in cash and maybe those who are going to received it will still hold the coins and wait for the next bull run because that is the right time if they ever want to sell it.
2068  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: August 20, 2022, 04:03:25 AM
A good strategy that will convert to a win. Ancajas can regain that title and be a champion again. Also, a good opportunity for the promoters if, in case Ancajas win, they can immediately call for another rematch/trilogy to decide who's really the one who deserves to keep the belt. It's a must for Ancajas or else he will be forgotten, as there are many competitive young fighters who can challenge Martinez if Ancajas failed his attempt to win back his belt.

The other scenario here if Ancajas wins other than the trilogy is that Martinez would go back to his original division and continue depending his belt while Ancajas would go on fighting Ioka which was the original plan of MP Promotions and might also be a chance to avenge the loss of Nietes in the hands of Ioka which for me, Ancajas has the better chance of winning than this fight.

That will be a big fight as Ioka has recently beat his arch nemesis, another Filipino in Nietes. I agree that Ancajas has a better shot since he is still very young as compare that time to Nietes who is already over the hill at 40 years old.

But as what we want to see, Ancajas should win first and dominate Martinez. He was a huge underdog in the first fight that we thought it is easy path for Ancajas. However, Ancajas demanded a rematch so here we are and hopefully this time, Ancajas will win and I wanted to see a knock out win for him.

Yup, this Martinez rematch is way for him to get back on track in his boxing career. As I've said before that he might not be focused in the first fight because Martinez was a replacement fighter but this time around, no reason or alibi for him if he loses, it's just that Martinez is superior to him. Now that he has experienced how Martinez moved or how hard Martinez can hit him so he has now an idea on how to defeat him in this rematch and for sure bookies will place Ancajas in the underdog position here.
Right, maybe Ancajas was thrown off by the style of style of Martinez because he hasn't prepared for him. But nevertheless, there should be no excuses this time, he has months of preparation against Martinez, he knows his weaknesses and strength based on their first fight. So he has somewhat of an idea, a blue print in mind on how to beat Martinez. We would love to see Ancajas as the underdog so that we will be more willing to bet on him, maybe 3:1 odd as underdog would not be bad at all for us to bet.
2069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: In your opinion is this the end for Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency? on: August 19, 2022, 10:43:57 PM
So we have seen Cryptocurrency hit with many huge scams, come under increased scrutiny and regulation, as well as being the subject of environmental concerns.

As of late, Bitcoin is trading at the lowest levels I've seen it trade in quite some time.

So I made this poll to gage the latest opinions of the users here.

The question is, due to any of these issues, or a combination of them, are we finally going to see the end of Bitcoin and
Cryptocurrency or is it still a safe haven?
Numbers speak for itself already, 11 votes so far for No.

And I don't know, as much as we hated it, but scams do exists in any way or form in other markets, do we forget this man?

Who Was Bernie Madoff?

So I guess the poll is just a moot point, as I don't see people opinions here swaying ot the end of Bitcoin/ Cryptocurrency, sorry to burst the bubble for you.
2070  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: August 19, 2022, 09:00:15 PM

Maybe they are also on the process or discussion on how to maximize their profits and make the fight bigger than mega-fight as an undisputed fight is really rare to happen in the boxing industry, also, I happen to read somewhere that Spence's camp is asking for Crawford's camp to help Spence sell and market the fight as he couldn't carry all the load even if he is the king of PPV. Don't know if it's really true but both of them should really try to sell the fight even if they know that their fight is much anticipated.

They share the obligation but I'm curious since both fighters are top calibers and their names already have market value.

I don't see any needs of selling as in one formal announcement of this possible fight fans will be there to support, especially the gambling industry

Exerting more effort into the marketing will help them sell more, more PPV and gate entrance means more money, and probably more sponsorship as well. This is an anticipated fight and it could only happen once, so they have to take this opportunity to make more money.

Trash talking and other form of taunting especially on social media is I think enough for them to gather hype for this match, they are big star already and for sure many of their fans would provably watch this fight because for sure many are interested to see on which of them is the more dominant fighter. Provably there are still ongoing negotiation for this fight to happen and maybe there promoter just want more people to talk about this fight so that they can also get huge revenue for this match up.
There is already a big hype on this fight, I don't see why it will not be push through by promoters at this point. Even casual fans know both fighter are elite and undefeated, so why need to hype it more in the public? revenue for this match up is already guaranteed.

I'm seeing the tickets for the live gate will be a sell out, it's just the matter of PPV as what we have discussed that it's too expensive and because of piracy, the numbers might not be what it is expecting, but still a lot of money for both this fighter.
2071  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 19, 2022, 12:08:56 PM
The schedule is out.
https://www.nba.com/news/nba-unveils-2022-23-regular-season-schedule
Quote
The 2022-23 NBA regular season will tip off on Tuesday, Oct. 18 with a doubleheader on TNT as the 76ers visit the reigning Eastern Conference champion Celtics and the defending NBA champion Warriors receive their championship rings before hosting the Lakers.
It's still a long way before the season starts but I can't wait to see them back with their jerseys on.

Will a guard be included in the top 3 of the Season MVP this year? i.e. Luka Doncic, Steph, Ja Morant. These are the players I will be looking forward to being on top of their careers and doing most of the damage against their opponents.
But Jokic will still be there, I don't doubt that. Only an injury will stop the Joker. If Kawhi will be back healthy, it's possible he will also be in the MVP discussions.
It's Jokic consistency that really put him in the MVP race, if my memory serves me right, Joel was the front runner midway, but when he suffers a injury, Jokic takes over. So if those guards are just going to be consistent and injury free, I think they will have a good chance to win the MVP this year. If will be another close one, Kawhi and even Paul George could be in the discussion as well, or even Jokic's team mate Jamal Murray could also be inserted if he just continue what he left off prior to his injuries.
2072  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October on: August 19, 2022, 11:49:17 AM
I guess what interest us more is how is Loma after his long break again, remember that after his lost to Lopez, he comeback strong and dominated his opponents, Nakatani and Comley.

Unfortunately, war broke out and he is supposed to fight Kambosos, but Haney was tapped and then get all his belts. So this is a tuneup as others said for Loma and hopefully he is still in his prime and that he can get back all the belts he had once held.
2073  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: August 18, 2022, 12:04:32 PM
This looks really really one-sided right now for Fritz. I am also quite surprised as I thought Fritz might be running into trouble defending Kyrgios' serves. I think Kyrgios' strength regarding the serves can also turn into his weakness. We have seen that against Djokovic in Wimbledon. When he hits his serves it is almost impossible to defend him. He collects countless aces or easy points that way. But if he doesn't hit the serves well, he sometimes seems a bit lost against players who are very strong at longer rallies. Still fun to watch him and I guess he will also play an interesting role at the US open.

That was a pretty quick 51 minutes. I cannot even tell if Kyrgios was tired or bored. In any case, it was a match without highlights. I had already thought that Fritz was the favourite. But I did not think it would be that easy for him.
And that Nadal would lose. I did not think that either.
Lots of surprises for us in this tournament, as for Nadal, I guess he is just trying to see if he can get back to his old form after missing a lot of games. He did try, but it seems he is out of rhythm but it goes that at least he stay and remain very positive for the US Open.

For Nick, just woke up in the wrong side of the bed. He seems to be very angry with his coach, the girl friend and then the crowd get involved.
2074  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why there is so much resistance at $23k price on: August 18, 2022, 09:48:07 AM
The previous support level will be a strong resistance at the present time, and 30k levels were support levels for a long time, and therefore approaching these levels will lead to a correction in the price, so we find that the price is slowly moving towards those levels.

As for the resistance at $25k or $26k, it is nothing but a reflection of the strength of the resistance at the levels of 30k, which makes the price weaker the closer we break a barrier.
It started with $21k, $22k and so on.

you can read more from here ---> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5405627.0
Yes, at some point that $23k became a resistance, but as time goes on, we overcome it, weaken and now it is the support. So it's also a cycle, resistance and then it will become a full blown support level, then goes up to the next price. So it's just a matter of time, it could be days, weeks and months for a certain price to be overcome like in our present price $25k. I can't remember how many times we get to it and then it went down very fast, maybe twice or thrice. So we will see how it will be in the next try, whether we can break it easy and then we will have a momentum run and then it will become the support.
2075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 18, 2022, 09:06:56 AM
Jesus christ, 50 million a year give or take, which I am sure is still good money for Lebron even though he must worth like a billion already, maybe more. I am guessing that he will definitely pick up the player option, but it all depends on where his kid will go. I guess Bronny looks as solid as it gets for a candidate, both a legacy which is like the biggest we can think, but also a solid top 60 draft pick for sure even without the dad (well he wouldn't be this good without his dad lol). So all in all, I am guessing that if Lakers gets Bronny then Lebron stays, if not then Lebron may leave to wherever drafts Bronny for sure.

Looks like LeBron will most likely retire a Laker on that contract. The extension also makes him the new highest paid career earner in NBA history, passing Kevin Durant. In another two years I’m not sure if LeBron will still be able to be healthy and play at a high level, but he’ll probably have the option to sign another deal if he wants to. I’m sure LeBron is celebrating tonight…
And Rich Paul too could have been celebrating with him with that huge contract he was able to make for his client Lebron. Seeing how Lebron was really putting hours in his body to protect it, I'm thinking that he can still be very competitive in the next 2y years or at least the arrival of his son/s in the NBA because we all know that this is his dream to play with his kid, maybe it could be in the Lakers uniform and then makes history.
2076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: August 18, 2022, 08:38:54 AM
Seems to be that the Middle East is the preferred destinations of most fight, the Usyk vs Joshua will be in Saudi.

So it make sense if ever Bivol will reconsider a rematch with Canelo, it could be good venue for the fight.

However, it's up to Canelo, he need to win against GGG first and we will see what will the plan. If he is chasing for a 5th world title then Cruiserweight could be his next, but who knows, if the money is right for a Bivol fight and then probably it will be their best shot.

Canelo won't be that interested. Hosting the match in United States is beneficial for him and the organizers in terms of increased revenue (gate collections, sponsorships.etc). That said, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are not bad options. There are a few advantages as well, such as the lack of taxes on ticket sales and endorsements. It is up to Canelo. He is the cash cow of boxing right now and Bivol by himself can't attract a lot of revenue in terms of PPV buys (most of the PPV revenue comes from the United States).
Possible but what if rich nations Saudi Arabia offers big money for Canelo to fight there? He could be getting up front money but just showing in the gate and as you have said, he is the cash cow so definitely he could demand the money and if the Saudi organizers can afford that then definitely it's worth a try for him. They can still have the PPV just like in the AJ vs Usyk match, although the time difference could be a big factor.
2077  Other / Meta / Re: Sending merit to merit worthy posts to team members. How would you look at it? on: August 18, 2022, 07:35:22 AM
Consider my personal account is a merit source or say not anymore or it was never a merit source lol.

When I see a post is merit worthy I send merit. But I am hesitating to send merit to the team members in the Ann thread and other threads created from the official account. One mind says it's okay, they are not my alt accounts but another mind is saying sending merit to them seems like I am giving them an unethical (may be not) favour.

How would you judge it if you are in the same situation? I would like to have some discussion and based on that I will take a note if I should or should not.

Thanks in advance.
As others have said, merit is subjective, you can find one liner to merit worthy, but others look for more comprehensive and detailed post to merit them.

So I don't see anything wrong with sending merit to Ann thread, it won't harm or benefit the project, in my opinion. And for this project or business, it's the exposure and the number of investors that count, how much money they can bag because they created a Ann thread in this community and not for the merits.
2078  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best Price To Buy Ethereum on: August 17, 2022, 02:43:42 PM
Ethereum was dumped down to 950$ in latest Bear market and now it's trading 2x from that price. My question is , what is best price to buy ? Buy now or wait to down 600$?
Unfortunately, no one has the crystal ball to see if Ethereum will still go down to $600 or not. So maybe the best approach is do to DCA. I know your frustrations, we always wanted to buy at the lows, but it's hard to time the market as it is.

And I would say that there are traders that got lucky to be able to buy < $1000 because they have profited already. Or maybe you are not that late because next month we will have the merger in the mainnet and it is schedule - Sept 15/16 as this news could trigger another Ethereum run.
2079  Economy / Speculation / Re: Industry experts believes BTC is primed to hit $106,000 on: August 17, 2022, 02:21:10 PM
if it reaches $ 106k of course it will be very surprising to the whole world, but in my opinion it is still a question mark,
indeed Bitcoin has reached $ 64k, but after seeing the incident from Luna, I think maybe Bitcoin will never reach ATH again,
and even I have the worst case scenario, which is Bitcoin drops below $10k again.
Lol, how can you compare Luna to Bitcoin? and why does Bitcoin correlates with Luna? I don't get the relationship. You mean that when Luna falls, Bitcoin will not reach a new all time high? How come?

We all know that Bitcoin works like magic every 4 years, aptly call a cycle and it closes on a bull run just like in 2021 $60k++ run in November and then after that, the bubble has been burst and we are back to bearish cycle again.
2080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you stop gamble if your girl friend insists ? on: August 17, 2022, 01:46:18 PM
I used to play with my girlfriend, it was lime a slots machine but a bit different. It was really enjoyable to play together, but I wouldn't repeat it online, it wouldn't be the same.
Most girlfriends prohibit us from gambling activities, but the situation is different when your partner has the same thing to gamble on slot machines, but you still limit gambling only to slot machines and not online gambling. I am sure every boyfriend will not let us get addicted to online gambling and she only allows to enjoy playing gambling for entertainment.
And what if your girlfriend is more addicted to you, specially slots? And a scenario such as you introduce your girlfriend to slots and then she suddenly fell in love with it and later you realized that she is more addicted to you? Could be a very difficult situation now as the tide has turn?

Same here, me and my wife gamble together, and we complement each other, I mean if she wins then she will give something to me to continue and vice-versa.
