2141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Something Like This Happen To You on: June 07, 2022, 10:23:30 AM
We experienced unexpected events or moments in gambling like this one, you are calling it off a day in a session then you're suddenly on a winning streak thinking that it's your time to get back what you've lost will you go or will you stop and come back the next day.

I know exactly your feeling, had this myself many times. Especially during lossing sessions my mind keeps telling me that the winning streak is just around it the corner. If I only play a little longer I would make my money back. Unfortunately this is only wishful thinking and not real. There are no trend in gambling, just because we lost a few games in a row doesn't mean we are going to win now. The first few times I noticed that was I played regularly roulette. Sometimes I would see red numbers 6-7 times in a row coming up, my brain would always tell me now it has to be black. That's wrong, every new game is independent and the chances for Black and Red are exactly the same, the white call has no memory  Wink. That is why I stop now rather than gamble more. For me it's helpful to set fixes time slots for gambling and when to take a break. We can always make back the losses on the next day. Only exception is if I play a poker tournament and I manage to get into the money, than I will play until the end.
2142  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the golden rule of investment? on: June 07, 2022, 09:32:34 AM
I wouldn't say that to avoid giving gambling advice, or to listen to others is the golden rule of investing. We can't no everything when it comes to investing, the markets are to big. It can be helpful to take advice from others, but we should always remain critical and make up our own mind. Trusting others blindly is foolish, but making our own research after getting advise from others is clever in my opinion.
For me the golden rule of investing is Diversification, never put all your money into one basket. Luna is a great example for risk management and how diversification would have protected us from decesratinv losses. If we limit ourselves to not put more than 10% of our money into one single alt coin, then we would only lose 10%. Owning multiple coins might make us lower returns if one particular coin rallies, but it also lowers our risk profile considerably.
2143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Profitable are Gambling Bots? on: June 07, 2022, 09:16:21 AM

Have you ever tried to use the autobet on some gambling websites or have you successfully used third-party bot scripts for betting on sites where it is allowed? Did the bots win?

I tried using autobet gambling sites in the past, but with mixed results. At first the autobets seems to be going really well, and then I forget to stop. Problems for me with these types of bets are you lose the money very quickly. It's kind of automated but you still need to keep oversight over the betting. Real gambling bots I have never used so far, there are some free to use bots which are not looking promising. The gambling bot where you have to pay for it seems much more sophisticated. I looked at a few options in the past which were being sold here on the site. The thing for me is that the purchase price is just too high compared to my average betting size. For a whale who has a lot of money this might be more interesting. I prefer to have full control over my gambling budget, because if something goes wrong I can only blame myself for the mistakes.
2144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New York's push to ban crypto mining on: June 07, 2022, 08:59:13 AM
Sad news coming from New York, I hope the bill is not going to pass. In Europe they tried the same thing and luckily didn't get majority for it. What's going on lately with politicians trying to ban crypto mining? Is this some general push from the financial service lobby industry? I can't believe all the politicians decided for themselves to go so strongly against cryptos now. Crypto currencies became so popular in the last 2 years that there is a big public support for them. Hopefully no new country will get a majority to ban crypto mining. Also the energy inefficiency of crypto mining is always given as argument for the ban, which is really one sided. If politicians want to do something for the environment, why not go for other industries? There are industrial companies which are much worse for the environment than crypto mining. It feels a bit like a witch hunt.
2145  Economy / Gambling / Re: How do you know how to trust online sportsbooks? on: June 07, 2022, 08:51:42 AM
Hello everyone, I've been using online sportsbooks for a while now, but I wanted to know how do you know how to trust those sites? What do you look for in them, what are some red flags for you, that kind of stuff. Hope it makes sense and please share what are your favorite online sportsbooks.

The first indication if a sportsbook is legit or not for me is how well the website looks like. If the layout is modern and sophisticated than it's already a good sign, because most of the scam sites tend to be created very fast and won't be up and running for a long time. That's also the second tell, how long has the website and company be around? The older the website the more likely it's legit. The third step for me is to check reviews online. This forum here is a good way to quickly search for the sportsbook. Maybe they don't have their own thread here, but if a user has a negative experience with them he will likely write about it here. If there are red flags in the past, better to avoid them.
2146  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a place in the world you could live like a king via sig campaigns? on: June 06, 2022, 08:20:33 PM
I thought about another good way how you live cheaply without spending much money. I got this idea from a friend during our university time, he managed to live for free for 2 years in really nice house. The good thing is this works all around the world with no need to move to a far away country for cheap housing. Unfortunately this only works alone, for a group of friends this is not feasible.
The basic idea is to find a city with a big university and strong housing demand. In that city you look for big houses close to campus with a lot seperate rooms. After renting the whole house, you divide it into single rooms that you then rent out to students. One room remains empty and will be your room, while rent of the house is divided by the remain rooms. Basically you become the landlord of a rented apartment. There is some risks involved and it costs time to manage it, but if you have good tenants there shouldn't be an issue. And if you have some spare time you could do things like taking care of the garden and clean the house and community areas. All these works you can then again charge the tenants. So if you don't mind living with students you could live for free. It's not like living a king, because the room is small and you have to share a kitchen with strangers. But you can atleast use your whole signature campaign funds for other things, like atleast eating and drinking like a king, or just investing that spare money.
2147  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You don't need to hodl a particular coin all your life on: June 06, 2022, 04:13:27 PM
Sell the bull and buy the bear sounds like the best investment advice, unfortunately it's hard to identify where the bull market ends and the bear market starts. Is the bitcoin price of 30,000 USD right now the end of the bear market or is the bill market still far away? The timing issue is what makes HODL investing so interesting and profitable. I also like to trade actively the market but do this in much smaller sizes. What is wrong with holding my majority of Bitcoins long term? It's not all about short term profit. For our grand parents it's normal to save money in a bank account and that money will eventually go to us. So why not do the same with bitcoins? We can leave behind crypto currencies instead of fiat money for our children and grand children. If we think for the next 100 years than holding long term becomes a new concept.
2148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: taking out a loan for a sports bet on: June 06, 2022, 03:54:38 PM
recently I've come across some information for an upcoming soccer match and I'd like to place a big bet of 50-100k, how easy would it be for me to take out a loan and how long would it take? has anyone else done something like this?

feel free to message me or comment below  Smiley

In general I would advise against using leverage for sports betting. Taking out loans for gambling or investing is a very dangerous undertaking and can lead to financial difficulties. Normally we say only use money for gambling or betting that you can afford to lose, and borrowed money we can't afford to lose.
In case you have some insider information about an upcoming match than things are different. First of all, how reliable is your source? Only if you fully trust him I would act on that tip. To take out a loan of 50-100k USD you will need collateral as security. If you own an apartment you could ask the bank for a mortgage. Depends again on how fast you need the money and when the game is. The best strategy would probably be max out all your credit cards, sell all the stocks and cryptos you own and ask friends and family for the rest. Just make sure it's really a safe bet and you won't lose all the money.
2149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Universal Scam Test - Let's Apply it to Bitcoin on: June 06, 2022, 12:58:11 PM
are people able to benefit from a system or a product without selling its units to new investors?

I am not sure if this is really a universal test to be honest. For practical goods this of course works. If there is no intrinsic value in a good itself than people don't need it and shouldn't be buying it. But this doesn't hold true for commodities or currencies. Let's say you buy a basket of precious metals including gold and silver, then everybody would agree it's really valuable. For ourselves the intrinsic value would be 0, we can't eat the metals or do something useful with it. The whole value for the commodity basket comes from what other people would pay for it. Same goes for some emerging market currencies that investors buy only with the goal to sell them for more money in the future. The value itself for us 0 because we can't use that money in the shop. As long as other people are accepting the currencies or commodities and exchange them for other goods they are valuable and not a scam, same goes for crypto currencies.
2150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFT slot Machine !! on: June 06, 2022, 10:50:50 AM
I didn't fully understand how the new NFT slot machines are going to work. Does it mean once we play the minimum amount of games per day we receive a free NFT from the slot machine? So it's kind of a bonus for regular customers. Or does it mean instead of being able to win big jackpots, we now only can win NFTs? The idea seems interesting if its some limited time offerings to promote new slot games. The important thing is to not give out too many NFTs in my opinion. If the market will be flooded with tons of new animal NFTs that gamblers get for free the price for them will likely be 0. Why would anybody pay money for them if he can obtain them for free himself. The best way is to create some scarcity and don't offer them permanently. Only when they can't be obtained anymore the value should be rising. And for gamblers it only becomes attractive if there is some real value behind it.
2151  Economy / Gambling / Re: Would you support a collective boycott of all Russian gambling platforms? on: June 06, 2022, 09:56:41 AM
The sanctions and boycotting of Russia and it's businesses are simply not working.  Roll Eyes  The rest of the world that are not part of this sanctions and boycotting are simply bypassing these restrictions and capitalizing on it. (Take India as an example ==> Buy Oil from Russia ==> Refine it ===> Sell it to Europe.)  Roll Eyes

A lot of Russian businessmen has already shifted their wealth into "Safe havens" and they are waiting for the Storm to blow over. (That is to say, if they are not assassinated before the War is over) = https://www.dw.com/en/mysterious-series-of-deaths-among-russian-oligarchs/a-61719107

To be honest I feel the exact same thing about the sanctions against Russia. In Western media it sounds like the sanctions are hurting Russia a lot and the Russian economy is on its knees. But they are saying this for 2 months now and I don't really see how Russia is really crumbling. How long will it really take for the sanctions to show effects? Because when we look to the rest of the world they are not united and will not impose sanctions. Big countries like India, China or Brazil already stated that their economies are connected too much to Russia and they rely on the trade. And this point the war needs to stop. How about of making new sanctions we get the two countries to sit down and make peace? I am against anymore boycott of Russian companies, including casinos. So we know that this revenues is directly funding the Ukraine war?

2154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: friendly and profitable board for beginners, have you realized it? on: June 05, 2022, 02:13:31 PM
Congratulations on making your first profit from sports betting. It's very exciting to make a profit while watching a game, isn't it? I bet this will be your first of many more bets in the future. Good luck on your gambling career. If you make more money from recommendations here on the forum, you could make small tips to the guys posting in here. As it takes them a lot of time to keep threads up to date and posting their predictions here.
I also like to check the sports beting threads here on the forum, there are so many different people here sharing their experiences that you find recommendations for almost any sport type. In the past I bet on all types of games, but after losing too much i had to slow down. Now I try to limit myself only on the big tournaments. Also I reduced the sports I follow a bit, because it takes up too much time to stay up to date in all of the leagues. My main sports now are football, e sports(mainly CSGO, a little dota) and basketball during the big finals.
2155  Economy / Economics / Re: Crashes are The Best Times to Get Rich - Robert Kiyosaki on: June 05, 2022, 01:34:20 PM
I really like Robert Kiyosaki, his book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" was a great read. He was among my first ever books I bought about money management, investing and how to get rich. The mindset he promotes is very valuable, it gives a new viewpoint to look at things from the eyes of an entrepreneur instead of an employee. The question I always have with Kiyosaki is how much money did he actually make the traditional way, and how much money he made through his books and popularity. He is a big motivational speaker and sells a lot of merchandise for his books. If he only made all his wealth through the rich dad, poor dad brand than I don't know if we should listen to him for investing advice. Nonetheless buying Bitcoins at 17,000 USD is a good idea. I would expect most of us to do the same, if the price ever drops so far. I am still sceptical that the price will drop so low.
2156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Effectively Maximize Profits from Online Crypto Casinos on: June 05, 2022, 11:41:46 AM

Do you have any surefire strategies that works for you which is not in the list above?

Good summary for gambling strategies. I think this article is not only for beginners, it's helpful for all gamblers. We all can learn something new and optimise out gambling strategies. Reading through the article I kept thinking about free slot games and other promotions from casinos. When it comes to slots I never really won anything, I play from time to time and when there are free spins I also use them, but eventually I also go bust. Maybe I don't know when to stop with slot machines or I am just unlucky. What is much better for me is a free casino voucher for any games, they usually come in 1-5$ values and made me some decent profit over the year. The best strategy here for me is to go for high risk games with a big payout. So most of the time Iose the free money, but sometimes I get lucky and make a big profit which I like to cash out.
2157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel when the market is downtrend? on: June 05, 2022, 10:34:28 AM
It depends a bit on how the bear market looks like for me. If there is a big crash and prices drop quickly than it hurts intitally, but very quickly I realise that it's a good opportunity now to buy at thes low levels. Like you said it's not really a bad feeling but rather a feeling of a new beginning. Only looking at old positions which are deep red is not healthy, we should rather look at the opportunities ahead of us, even if it takes some time to get there. What is more hurtful to me is the situation we are in right now. It seems like a bear market, but it feels more like a side wars trend. Prices are fluctuating heavily but but really much in one direction. There is no clear trend, up or down.
2158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Old Casino Keep Up Without Support Here In Bitcointalk Or Signature Campaign on: June 05, 2022, 10:16:45 AM
Can an old casino that's very active here in Bitcointalk, through support, forum advertising, and signature campaign, suddenly pull the plug and stop doing all these things can still keep and still maintain its position in the market.

I think yes, an old casino which has been very active here on the forum should have a large number of regular customers. All these older customers will not disappear just because the casino is cutting down on its advertising. The only change I would expect to see is a dropping number of new customers to join the casino. I think when it comes to advertising budgets the casinos can run a case study to see how many new customers they get per week with various advertising channels. In the end it's a cost/benefit analysis to see if it's really worth it. Let's say the casino notices that 80% of their revenues from existing gamblers and most of the new gamblers leave the casino after a few weeks. Then it could much better for the casino to run promotions directly for the older customers. Instead of paying for advertising they could make weekly giveaways for regular customers.
2159  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should I buy BTC or DCA other coins? on: June 05, 2022, 10:05:05 AM
Since prices are down, I am going to spend some money for shopping. Not a lot, just what I can spend.
Now the question is, should I buy BTC (currently I don't have any BTC) or should I do DCA for ETH, SOL or DOT?

Since you already hold some other coins but no bitcoins yet, I would strongly recommend to buy some BTC. Right now the BTC price is cheap compared to last year. If you can buy BTC below 30,000 USD it's a good deal on my opinion. And BTC as the oldest crypto coin should be part of any crypto portfolio. I am assuming you are looking to build up a long term portfolio and not only want short term gains. For that BTC should definitely be part of your wallet. We don't know which Alt coin will be successful long term, but we know that bitcoins will still be around in the future, it's never a bad investment.
2160  Economy / Economics / Re: Should we embrace a cashless policy?? on: June 04, 2022, 02:50:59 PM
I think a cashless society has a lot of benefits, it makes paying for things much easier and faster. We don't have long queues anymore in the supermarket where people are counting coins or wait for the vendor to change large denominated bills. Our wallets will be much lighter, we could even go so far and remove all the credit cards and only use our mobile phones to pay. As long as everybody has a phone and Internet access than the new payment methods work for everybody. There are also some drawbacks, what if our cell phone breaks down or there is a Internet outage? In remote places cash is still king. Also the elderly generations will struggle in a cashless society. My grandma never pays with card and doesn't even have cell phone. I think cash will lose it's dominate role over time but never disappear fully.
